Property ownership is not a requirement for membership and there is a variety of membership categories to choose from, designed to suit individual lifestyle needs. Members enjoy full access to the 63,000 square foot Clubhouse amenities, as well as the Club’s Racquet Sports Center, private beach, and member-only programming and events. Our renowned Club offers unrivaled fitness, wellness, social and leisure amenities.

Bay Harbor Yacht Club

Award winning services and amenities, an incomparable waterfront setting, delicious cuisine and breathtaking views are just a few of the many reasons Bay Harbor Yacht Club creates the perfect atmosphere for your celebration. Located just three miles south of Petoskey and nestled along the shore of Northern Lake Michigan’s Little Traverse Bay, BHYC accommodates year-round events of all sizes including intimate gatherings or guest lists exceeding 400. BHYC is in proximity of various hotels and lodging options, exquisite golf courses, fabulous restaurants and other area attractions.

For over 25 years, Bay Harbor Yacht Club has boasted a rich history of bringing families and life-long friends together. It’s not just a place for dining and cocktails, but a place to relax, meet, to work out and to connect.

More than a boating community, Bay Harbor Yacht Club is the perfect destination to enjoy an active lifestyle. With a year-round calendar brimming with more than 1,000 social events, programs, and activities, every member of the family will find something to pique their interest. From classes and clinics to cruises and card games, the Club offers a variety of options to explore, play, and connect with friends and neighbors.

Property ownership is not a requirement for membership and there are a variety of categories based upon the applicant’s relationship with the Bay Harbor community. Please inquire with Membership Services regarding category eligibility.

“Building on Perfection”

In 2020, Bay Harbor Yacht Club embarked on an expansive $13.5 million project to renovate and refurbish our facilities, amenities, and services. The Club now features a contemporary modern design, enhancing the already magnificent setting. Bay Harbor Yacht Club has prioritized community and wellness throughout these renovations and has created a space for members to gather for years to come. The project was completed in June 2021.

Paths To Wellness

The new Wellness Center offers integrated wellness programming and over 7,500 square feet of integrated fitness space, while the stunning and serene Relaxation Spa ensures that members always have a tranquil space to relax and unwind.

Enhanced Dining

The Club’s world-class dining venues have been expanded and redesigned. Members now enjoy a variety of options, from casual indoor dining to an elegant and upscale atmosphere. Expanded outdoor seating ensures everyone gets the best views.

Fun For All Ages

The new Aquatics Center offers swimming space for kids, families and adults. Ample deck seating to ensures everyone has a place to relax by the pool and the children’s splashpad and heated whirlpool guarantee water recreation for everyone.

BHYC is your club. There is never a need to feel over or underdressed. But we maintain an atmosphere that's neither stiff nor too casual.

The aim of the Bay Harbor Yacht Club is to be a friendly, caring and welcoming environment for the children and grandchildren of members.

There’s no need to tip at BHYC. In lieu of gratuities, a twenty percent service charge is added to food and beverages.

Member Guests are permitted in dining venues or other facilities only when accompanied by a Member.

David V. Johnson dreamed of transforming this “abandoned moonscape” into the most luxurious residential community on earth. His undertaking became the largest land reclamation project in North America.
