Welcome to the Landings Yacht Club (LYC) Website

The LYC is a boating and social club within The Landings Yacht, Golf and Tennis Club, a gated community in Fort Myers, Florida. The club was formed in 1980 and is open to all Landings residents. We strive to provide our members with fun activites both afloat and on land. The LYC (and its members) belong to the Yachting Club of America, a national assocication of yacht clubs.

LYC Board Members are busy making plans for the Blessing of the Fleet, Thirsty Tuesdays, Lunch Bunch, Short and Long Cruises, Christmas Tree Lighting, Holiday and Mid-Winter Dances, Salmon-Chicken Cookout, Junk in Your Trunk Sale, Annual Meeting and Change of Watch event.

The Membership Fee is $100 per household. LYC Membership for 2024-2025 will be announced soon!

The creators of the Landings Yacht Golf & Tennis Club took one of Lee County’s most prized pieces of land and sculpted a paradise that appeals to every possible Florida lifestyle one could imagine.

Located on historic McGregor Boulevard on 250 acres along the banks of the shimmering Caloosahatchee River , The Landings is home to an 18-hole executive golf course, a private harbor and marina and one of the area’s most impressive tennis facilities.

Once one of the country’s largest flower farms, The Landings is now home to 1,200 homes and condominiums ranging from high rise penthouses to estate-sized single-family homes, and everything in between.

When development started back in 1973, The Landings was Florida’s first planned community, and its first gated community. Back then the property was being used for agricultural research, like growing bamboo trees undertaken by Fort Myers’ most famous resident, Thomas Edison.

The Landings Yacht Golf & Tennis Club has a long-standing reputation as a world-class tennis club, having hosted many state and regional tournaments over the years. Featuring 12 clay courts and 1 stadium court, 3 full time USTPA certified tennis professionals and a fully stocked pro shop, The Club is extremely active with tennis leagues, round robin’s, cookouts and parties for the tennis lovers.

The Helm Club

The Helm Club is at the center of the community and serves as the social hub for its residents.  Fine dining, a cocktail lounge, library, banquet room and private meeting rooms provide the perfect setting for any occasion. The Wheelhouse

Social Memberships

The Landings Yacht, Golf and Tennis Club is a unique Club, where each resident is a member with equal interest in the pride and care of this gem of a community nestled along the Caloosahatchee River. For non-residents we offer several membership options; Tennis, Pool and Club Dining Memberships. We have a family-friendly atmosphere, beautiful clubhouse and facilities  with knowledgable, efficient and caring staff to assure an exceptional experience with every visit. Tennis Family Membership

Entitles a family (parents designated for membership and their children 18 years of age and under) to limited tennis privileges. Court time after 11:00 a.m. only, (Jan 1st through March 31st), Helm Club Dining, (excluding special events) and Clubhouse Pool privileges, Summer Reciprocal Program (May 1st to October 31st) Membership does not include fitness center, golf, pickleball or marina privileges.  

Single Tennis Membership

Entitles one person to: Limited tennis privileges. Court time after 11:00 a.m. only (Jan 1st through March 31st); clubhouse pool and Helm Club Dining, (excluding special events); Summer Reciprocal Program (May 1st through March 31st). Membership does not include fitness center, golf, pickleball or marina privileges.  

Dining Club Membership

Entitles a couple the use of the Helm restaurant and Wheelhouse Grille, including any special events sponsored by the Club and Summer Reciprocal Program (May 1st to October 31st). This membership does not include fitness center, golf, tennis, pickleball, pool or marina privileges.   

    Pool Membership

Entitles a couple and their children (under 18 years of age) use of the clubhouse pool. Also allows for pool use for out-of town guests, staying with member. Includes Club Dining and Summer Reciprocal Program (May 1st to October 31). Membership does not include fitness center, golf, tennis, pickleball or marina privileges.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
