This little trawler was named "Rachel". If you look closely, you can see Rachel's bikini hanging from the handrail below the port salon window. Hhmmm... a naked girl named Rachel in Palm Beach. Sound familiar?

This is "Lady Moeshesha". At first glance, it's a Hatteras, right? While putting it through P-Shop, I began to question my instincts. I'm not sure now...

You would think rising fuel prices would make motor-sloopers mainstream again, but that would require operator skill. This is "Jamboree"...

Hi Pat, I've attached the image you supplied earlier for reference purposes. YachtForum said: Following in the "Out My Window" theme, I've been looking for a way to put YF readers directly on the intracoastal. I looked into a webcam or hiring bridge tenders to take pics. In the end, I put all of my stuff into storage and rented a small apartment on the intracoastal. The location is Palm Beach. With the exception of Ft. Lauderdale, this area has one of the largest concentrations of big boats to be found in Florida. If you're on the other side of pond, snowed-in, chained to a computer or a prisoner of the system... I welcome you to watch vicariously through the lense of my camera. I'll try to update this thread regularly with unique boats. Whenever possible, I'll provide the name of the boat, but I'll leave the details up to you. Oh yeah... about the name of this feature, November is the start of silly season. This is the award-winning Here Comes the Sun , the biggest yacht ever built by the Dutch yard Amels , and widely acknowledged as the pride and joy of New Zealand billionaire and passionate superyacht collector Graeme Hart.

The 292-foot Amels superyacht 'Here Comes the Sun' recently had a refit that stretched the hull by 20 feet, creating a new persona.

The yacht hit the headlines when it was delivered in 2017 and showcased at that year’s Miami International Boat Show. With its head-turning exterior design by Britain’s Tim Heywood and luxurious interior by fellow Brit Andrew Winch, it was the undisputed star of the show.

The original owner was reportedly Russian drilling industry tycoon Alexander Dzhaparidze, known for naming his superyachts after Beatles tunes. Before Here Comes the Sun , he owned the Amels-built Imagine before moving on to another Heywood/Winch-designed Amels, the 197-foot Come Together.

After being snapped up by the new owner in late 2019, Here Comes the Sun went back to the Damen Yachting/Amels sheds in Vlissingen in southwest Holland for what would turn out to be a near-total makeover.

The 292-foot Amels superyacht 'Here Comes the Sun' recently had a refit that stretched the hull by 20 feet, creating a new persona.

Dutch naval architects Azure Yacht Design were called in to mastermind slicing open the hull and adding the 20-foot extension. They also stretched the sundeck to create that second helipad—there’s also a touch-and-go pad on the foredeck—big enough to land a Bell 429 or Airbus H145.

The refit also saw the swimming pool on the main deck—once again the key word here— stretched to 23 feet, while two new bridge-deck VIP suites were added, each with 39-foot-long private balconies.

Saving one of the biggest jobs until last, the entire yacht was sanded, re-faired and re-painted, switching out the original, rather milquetoast, beige-yellow hull color to a classy navy blue with stark white topsides.

“It was a huge scope of work. To pull it off in just over a year was a real credit to Amels,” said Colin Boyle, the vessel’s captain since 2019, who helped project-manage the refit during the 16-month stay in the yard.

Damen Yachting sales manager Michael Coens added: “Many of the same craftsmen and women who were meticulously involved in the original build, worked on her during the refit, remolding and reshaping her into the new masterpiece she is.”

The refit was rewarded with the “Best Rebuilt Yacht” trophy at the 2022 World Superyacht Awards.

Accommodations-wise, within the 292-foot length, sprawling 47-foot beam, and 2,955 gross tonnage, the yacht can accommodate 20 guests in 10 cabins, tended to by a crew of 27.

Without doubt, one of the standout features is the truly massive, full-deck owner’s suite. It comes with a master bedroom boasting forward views through 180-degree wraparound glass, a private lounge with a balcony, office, his-and-hers bathrooms and spacious dressing room.

For relaxation, the owner can kick back in a huge private salon with comfy sofas, dining area, bar, and pool table. Towards the stern, there’s the full-beam owner’s sun deck with sofas, lounges and a dining table for ten. Steps away is a tiered movie theater.

Naturally, there’s no shortage of water toys. The main tender is a sleek, custom-built 34-foot limo built by Germany’s Yachtwerft Meyer and painted in matching navy and white. There’s also a 30-foot RIB and 23-foot Super Air Nautique wakesurf boat. Plus, a small armada of Sea-Doos and seabobs.

The vessel is listed jointly with brokers Fraser and Burgess.

The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). Insider Today

Billionaire and entertainment mogul David Geffen is in the hot seat this week for a "tone-deaf" Instagram post about isolating on his $590 million yacht in the Caribbean during the coronavirus pandemic, The Guardian reported .

On Saturday, Geffen posted photos showing his  superyacht, Rising Sun, in the Grenadines with the caption, "Sunset last night. Isolated in the Grenadines avoiding the virus. I hope everybody is staying safe." The backlash on Twitter was prompt, with people calling his post "shameful" and out of touch, reported Business Insider's Katie Warren . He appears to have since  deactivated his Instagram .

It's the same yacht that  Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos was spotted on in the Balearics, Spain, last summer. In a photo posted to Geffen's Instagram , Bezos was seen with his girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez; the supermodel Karlie Kloss; and former Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein.

But Bezos and crew aren't the first to cruise the high seas with Geffen, who appears to love hosting celebrities, musicians, and actors. Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper, Oprah Winfrey, and Barack and Michelle Obama have also previously kicked back on Geffen's 400-foot-plus superyacht.

Here's a look at Rising Sun — and the big names who have been on board.

The entertainment mogul David Geffen, founder of DreamWorks, SKG, Asylum Records, Geffen Records, and DGS Records, owns Rising Sun. According to Forbes, he's worth an estimated $7.8 billion.

The 454-foot megayacht was originally built for Oracle founder Larry Ellison. Geffen bought a half-share in 2007 and the other half in 2010, totaling $590 million.

The exact value of the superyacht is unclear. However, a 2019 put its value at $300 million.

Rising Sun was constructed by the German shipbuilder Lurssen. Once Geffen became owner, he had the yacht refitted over a six-month period.

The yacht can accommodate 18 guests and a staff of 55 people. It even has a basketball court.

Geffen has cruised everywhere from St. Bart's and the Tobago Cays in the Caribbean to Portofino, Italy, and Ibiza, Spain, according to posts Business Insider previously viewed on his now-deactivated Instagram — but not without a few friends.

Rising Sun is a great place for entertaining. A scroll through Geffen's Instagram feed before it was deleted showed that he's hosted many a celebrity guest on board.

Oprah Winfrey, Bradley Cooper, Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Chris Rock, Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tom Hanks have all joined Geffen in cruising the high seas, according to now-deleted Instagram posts.

But Geffen doesn't just invite actors and musicians on board. In 2017, Barack and Michelle Obama were spotted on board while the yacht was in French Polynesia.

And in summer 2019, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, investment banker Lloyd Blankfein, and supermodel Karlie Kloss were spotted aboard in the Balearics in Spain.

But Geffen likely won't have any friends on board anytime soon during the coronavirus pandemic.

On Saturday, he posted a photo to his Instagram from Rising Sun. The caption read: "Sunset last night. Isolated in the Grenadines avoiding the virus. I hope everybody is staying safe."

Twitter lit up with backlash, with people calling his post "shameful" and out of touch. Geffen then deleted his Instagram.

While the combined $590 million that Geffen spent to buy Rising Sun is an astronomical figure, it pales in comparison to the world's most expensive yacht. That title goes to the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich's yacht Eclipse, which is estimated to be worth anywhere from $600 million to $1.5 billion.

HERE COMES THE SUN is for sale.

Published 13 April 2023

HERE COMES THE SUN is an award-winning, as-new Northern European yacht packed with every possible apex superyacht feature her 20 guests could desire, yet under the 3,000GT threshold. As such she represents an extremely rare opportunity.

Her extension means she now has a 7m (23ft) pool on the main deck aft and a beach club open on three sides

Already the largest Amels ever delivered, with exteriors by Tim Heywood and Winch Design interiors, she was rebuilt at the Amels yard in 2020-21 with a 6m (19.7ft) extension. She emerged to universal acclaim as an 89m (291.9ft) yacht with a full repaint and a host of enhancements, winning Best Rebuilt Yacht at the World Superyacht Awards 2022.

The bridge deck VIP suites have their own balconies

There are two new bridge deck VIP suites with 12m-long (39.4ft) balconies. She has a new 7x4m (23x13.1ft) counter-current pool on the main deck aft, flush with the deck to preserve the views, with the bulwarks lowered and handrails added for the same reason.

The sun deck was extended to create a helipad and there is a touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck

The sun deck was extended aft for a helipad for a Bell 429 or H145, and she also has a foredeck touch-and-go helipad.

The huge beach club has a sit-up wet bar, lounge seating, along with two terraces and a swim platform for sea-level sun lounging

Her restyled beach club measures 15x8m (49.2x26.3ft) and has fold-down sea terraces either side and an extended swim platform with hydraulic bathing steps aft. There is a sit-up wet bar and lounge and cocktail seating throughout the space.

As well as a plunge pool and sauna, the wellness centre has a steam room, massage room and beauty parlour

Forward of the beach club is a wellness centre with sauna, steam room, plunge pool, shower and dayhead to starboard and a massage room and beauty salon to port.

The glass-and-steel elevator serves all guest decks, lower to sun decks

Other features include a glass elevator serving lower to sun decks, and there is step-free access from the lower deck lobby to the beach club.

The bedroom suite on the owner's deck has wraparound views and access to the sidedecks

A private owner’s deck has a bedroom forward with wraparound views and access to walkaround sidedecks and the foredeck.

The owner's lounge and study both have private balconies

There are his-and-hers bathrooms and dressing rooms and both the lounge and study have access to balconies. The saloon also has a bar and a dining room and access to the aft terrace.

The forward sun deck has a raised jacuzzi encircled by sunpads and gym equipment inside and out

Up on the sun deck there is a raised jacuzzi flanked by sunpads and beneath the hardtop there is a sit-up wet bar, dayhead and a good selection of gym equipment.

The main deck has a dedicated tiered cinema

The main deck is home to the yacht’s dedicated cinema and seven of the yacht’s guest suites, four of which can combine to create two VIP sites. All of the aft deck spaces on main to bridge decks have glass windbreak panels for guest comfort.

The central feature of the main deck aft is the 7x4m (23x13.1ft) counter-current pool

Twin 3,000hp Caterpillar diesel engines give her a top speed of 17.5 knots, she cruises at 13.5 knots and has a remarkable range of 10,000nm at her economical speed. Quantum zero speed stabilisers ensure comfort on arrival.

Tenders and toys stow behind shell doors midships on the lower deck

The lower deck garage, with shell doors either side, is home to two custom Yachtwerft Meyer tenders, a 10.5m (34.5ft) limo and a 9.2m (30.2ft) D-Rib, and a 7m (23ft) Super Air Nautique G23. There’s also a selection of watertoys including SeaDoos, SeaBobs and an inflatable marina and waterslide.

The dining table overlooks the main deck aft and the main saloon has huge picture windows

We are very excited to bring to market a feature-packed, sub-3,000GT yacht of such exceptional Northern European provenance. Asking USD 195,000,000, she is lying in the Western Mediterranean where inspection is very much encouraged to appreciate the opportunity she represents. 89m Amels superyacht Here Comes the Sun sold

89m Amels superyacht Here Comes the Sun sold in four months

The 89-metre Amels superyacht Here Comes the Sun has been sold after just four months on the market, with Stuart Larsen of Fraser representing the seller and Antoine Larriq of Fraser introducing the buyer. She was jointly listed with Tim Vickers of Burgess at the time of the sale.

Here Comes the Sun is a custom superyacht delivered in 2017 as the flagship of the Amels fleet – a title that she has held for the past six years. She was commissioned by a repeat client with a penchant for The Beatles, who was looking to upgrade from a Limited Editions 212 model Ventum Maris (formerly Imagine) .

After changing hands at the close of 2019, Here Comes The Sun joined the market following a full rebuild completed at her home shipyard in 2021. Core work included a six-metre stern extension courtesy of Azure Naval Architects , the addition of a second helipad, an interior revamp and a repaint. She emerged from the shipyard with a new look, sporting a navy blue hull and ice-white superstructure, and was later awarded a Neptune for Best Rebuilt Yacht at the World Superyacht Awards 2022.

The 2,955GT flagship was built as custom to Lloyd's Class with an exterior and interior from the boards of design royalty Tim Heywood and Andrew Winch . The pair had worked together on a number of Limited Editions projects and it seemed only natural for two Brits to reunite for the flagship build. Though a truly custom vessel, she borrows design cues from the successful Amels series.

Here Comes The Sun is vast, with over 1,000 square metres of exterior space and two touch-and-go helipads – one on the bow and one on the sundeck – that can land a Bell 429 or EC 145.

A two-metre-deep and semi-shaded swimming pool takes centre stage on the main deck and is surrounded by sun loungers and sofas, with windbreak glass to protect guests from inclement weather. The pool was upgraded during the refit thanks to the extension of the hull and is fitted with contraflow jets.

Below is a beach club and bar that now benefits from shell door platforms and an extended swim platform with hydraulic sea stairs. From here, guests can access the yacht's fully-fledged wellness centre complete with a sauna, steam room, plunge pool, massage room and beauty salon.

Other notable work completed during the refit included the extension of the sundeck by 3.4 metres, now home to a forward-facing whirlpool and a gym, and a full interior revamp that saw her original orange tones replaced with shades of marine blue.

Her interior offers over 800 square metres of guest spaces and 2.2 metres of headroom throughout.

Accommodation is for up to 20 guests across 10 cabins with provision for a crew of 27. An owner's apartment occupies the entire upper deck with a forward-facing owner's suite that benefits from a private lounge, office and balcony. Two "extra-large" VIP suites also have access to their own private balconies, while the remaining seven guest cabins are located on the main deck, two of which convert to suites. An extra double cabin on the bridge deck can sleep additional staff as required.

Here Comes The Sun currently houses three large tenders including a nine-metre RIB, a 10.5-metre limousine and a seven-metre Nautique ski boat stored in a central garage. Other features worthy of mention include a glass elevator serving all decks and a dedicated cinema.

Power comes from two Caterpillar 3516 engines delivering a maximum speed of 17.5 knots and a range of over 10,000 nautical miles at 10.5 knots. Quantum zero speed stabilisers keep her steady at anchor and underway. Her recent refit also included the overhaul of all four Caterpillar C18 generators.

Here Comes The Sun was asking $195,000,000.

By Editorial Team   23 May 2017

A virtual tour and previously unseen images have been released of the 83m/272ft motor yacht ‘Here Comes the Sun’ , revealing what it’s like inside a superyacht that costs more than a million euros to charter each week.

The largest Amels superyacht to date, Here Comes The Sun has been one of the most exciting launches of 2017 so far and, after joining the global charter fleet at the end of March, is one of the most impressive yachts on the entire charter market.

She is her owner’s fourth yacht, all of which have been named after famous tracks from The Beatles. These include the 47m/157ft motor yacht ‘Let It Be’ from Heesen and the 66m/215ft IMAGINE, a fellow Amels build.

Available from €1,200,000 per week plus expenses, Here Comes The Sun is reserved for only the most exclusive guests but, thanks to the release of a virtual tour, a closer look can be taken of both her luxurious deck areas and her exquisite interior designed by Winch Design.

As the tour unveils, the renowned British Design Studio has created a unique, contemporary interior defined by pale woodwork, a colour palette of sort corals and browns, and the extensive use of rare and beautiful materials for a truly spectacular finish.

Among the highlights is an expansive master stateroom, which spans across the forward section of the master deck. Sliding doors on each side of the suite allow natural light to flood inside and the principal charterer is treated to incredible ocean vistas.

The remaining nine staterooms can be taken in too. These include two VIP suites, two VIP suites which can transform into four cabins and three additional cabins. No staterooms are on the lower deck, meaning no guest goes without natural light.

Also wowing is the huge main salon, where a sumptuous seating area is joined by a handsome piano and sleek bar, while aft is circular dining area flanked by a curved glass door for an indoor-outdoor dining experience.

Not to be forgotten is the beautiful beach club equipped with a lounge area and bar to starboard, which leads to a drop-down side terrace where guests can get close to the water without disturbing those accessing the extensive water toy collection from the huge swim platform aft.

There is even a wellness and spa centre here, with a gymnasium equipped with Technogym equipment to port. This section also benefits from a drop-down terrace, so after a hard work out, guests can take a dip into the gorgeous waters of their cruising grounds for a refreshing cool down.

Other deck areas include a sundeck with a Jacuzzi forward, bar, covered dining area and ample lounging options. The opportunities for eating outdoors continue with a huge table on the bridge deck aft, while another show-stopper is the huge swimming pool on the main deck aft.

Touch 1200x800 3

Built in 2004 by Louisbourg with interiors by leading interior design guru Danielle Vigneaul - who sourced a vast array of unique and luxe fixtures and fittings including opulent marble flooring, mahogany trim detailing and hand-blown glass to create a truly astonishing finish which is rarely seen on a boat of this size - the 120’ (36.58m) Touch was refitted last year to the highest specifications. This included major mechanical and electrical service and overhaul, all new exterior paint from top to bottom, new CCTV cameras, all new Smart TVs and enhanced VPN for streaming.

The main salon places comfort and style above all else, with a relaxed furniture layout enhanced by warm wood accents, elegant armchairs and plenty of space to enjoy each other’s company. It’s also a great spot in which to indulge in some downtime, perhaps by catching a movie or throwing yourself into an impromptu karaoke session!

Pre-dinner cocktails at the sophisticated bar can be followed by lavish, intimate and romantic dinners at the convivial round polished table with stunningly chic black upholstered dining chairs, hosting up to eight guests and providing a blissful setting for each and every occasion.

Touch 1200x800 5

With four exquisite staterooms sleeping eight guests, Touch boasts a separate owner’s deck which is dominated by a breath-taking Lalique statement wall. This deluxe master suite features imposing pillars, private spiral staircase and aforementioned private deck as well as an ornate marble ensuite with full size bath and elaborate decorative mural above it.

Three further guest cabins are situated around an impressive lower deck foyer which is characterised by a stunningly intricate mosaic tiled floor and an artisan created glass-lit wall. Kingsize beds and ensuite bathrooms are lifted by accents of Swarovski crystals which create a glittering, starry effect that can only add to your buoyant mood.

Outside, Touch’s three roomy decks continue this illustrious and decadent theme, with a huge jacuzzi built for up to eight people providing the obvious focus point on the main deck. Sun pads surround this spot, making it a wonderful place for laidback relaxation.

Touch 1200x800 6

Most expenses are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), a fund that is added on top of the charter price. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.">Price Terms: Plus Expenses
