Lane Merrifield and friends hailed 'best guests ever' on Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Tech tycoon Lane Merrifield and his Canadian buds threw a relay race with the crew and had stews slap them in a drinking game.

Lane Merrifield, charter guest on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3

This week's Below Deck Sailing Yacht primary Lane Merrifield has quickly become a favorite with fans: not only did the tech tycoon leave the biggest tip of the season—off the strength of chef Marcos Spaziani ' s cooking—but he and the rest of his Canadian party proved to be the polite but party-ready guests that the Parsifal III crew could only dream of.

The charter wasn't without its hardships: the windy weather proved too severe for sailing and caused the anchor to drag, chef Marcos was grieving the loss of his best friend's mother all while trying to navigate a multi-course molecular gastronomy feast for the guests, and Ashley Marti was, well, Ashley.

But Merrifield—a tech entrepreneur behind Club Penguin, the largest children's online social network—and his pals never bemoaned any of the setbacks and instead had an overall positive outlook and sense of humor throughout the whole charter, including the crew mates in activities like a "sailors versus pirates" relay race and a "hurricane" drinking game.

The former involved the guests and the crew dividing into teams of two to race around a buoy, paddleboard to the ship and rush into the hot tub, with Captain Glenn as the referee. The Below Deck cast managed to eke out a win and took home The Seaman's Cup.

Later, Merrifield and the guests invited the stewardesses to help with "hurricane" shots, which involved each male charter guest getting splashed with a cup of water and slapped in the face by a female crewmate after downing a shot of alcohol.

The Canadian vacationers had such a good time onboard that they let a whopping $23,000 tip or $2,555 per crew mate.

"I'm not biased whatsoever, but these guests were probably the classiest, funniest, kindest group of people we had," fellow Canuck Captain Glenn said to the crew about Merrifield and company. "Canadians have a reputation..." he joked.

What fans are saying about Lane Merrifield & Co:

It looks like Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans agreed with Captain Glenn's assessment of this week's charter guests, with one Twitter user calling them "the best guests ever to be on any below deck franchise, any season, hands down."

These Canadians were the nicest, coolest, most fun guests to watch AND they gave the biggest tip yet! Those fake-rich classless Florida trumpy guests should take a lesson! #AllClass #BelowDeckSailingYacht June 7, 2022

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht Crew Had Their Hands Full With Memorable AF Charter Guests

Take a closer look at the entertaining charter guests from may 17's episode of below deck sailing yacht ..

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew just couldn't catch a break.

On the Monday, May 17 episode, Captain Glenn Shephard and company scrambled to assess the damage following last week's boat crash . Although the situation wasn't great, they were able to do a quick cosmetic fix since the transom door was able to open.

The drama didn't stop there as deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux panicked that he had "f--king chlamydia…again." On top of all of this, the charter guests were a demanding group of ladies, who expected nothing less than perfection.

For starters, there was co-primary charter guest  Erica , who requested that the interior crew unpack all of the luggage. Oh, and while "seasick" (AKA seemingly intoxicated) she asked Captain Glenn to make the ship stop rocking in a thunderstorm.

Sorry, Erica. The man's a sea captain, not Poseidon.

There was also charter guest Bianca , who upset her peers by wearing a Trump campaign bikini. "I just hate getting political," co-primary charter guest Jess snapped after Bianca's "Titties for Trump" declaration.

Speaking of Jess, later on, first mate Gary King and chief engineer Colin Macrae were ripped into after they were caught gossiping about the guests. In Jess' defense, it was unprofessional. Yet, by causing a scene she was proving their point that this group was bound to be a handful.

This is only a taste of what went down on tonight's episode. We're, of course, talking about the seemingly out of nowhere fight where Bianca accused the other ladies of bullying and slut-shaming her.

We have a feeling this is the "challenging" group that chief stewardess Daisy Kelliher teased to E! News earlier this month. "There's definitely one more group that, you know, for me, really stuck out," she said at the time. "I thought they were all actually fine. I really enjoyed all of them but, there were two that were definitely a bit more difficult and a bit more challenging."

For a closer look at these ladies and more interesting Below Deck charter guests, scroll through the images below.

The Bravo franchise has had plenty of dramatic and crazy moments thanks to some unruly and demanding guests, including Georgia , who was a little too flirty with no-nonsense leader Captain Lee Rosbach .

Sometimes, you just want a foam party—at least, that's what this demanding guest asked for. Was it eyebrow-raising to see him drunkenly partying in what ended up being about four inches of foam? Yes. Was it still epic because of how excited he was? Also yes.

Where do we start with Delores ? The season eight Below Deck charter guest made a splash, literally and figuratively, after she drunkenly jumped into the ocean late at night. To make matters worse, this swimming session was in direct defiance to Captain Lee's order to stay on the boat. In a first for his career, Captain Lee ended Delores' charter early and sent her packing.

However, while being escorted away on the tender, Delores jumped into the ocean. Bold move, lady.

Barrie boarded the Parsifal III with his blended family, including his current fiancé and his ex-husband, in season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . With such a large guest list, the crew was certainly put to work, especially chef Natasha . Not only did Barrie have no problem sending his breakfast back, but he also refused to have his family served buffet-style.

The first charter of Below Deck season eight was certainly a memorable one. We're, of course, talking about when the charter guests found themselves bickering over deckhand  James Hough . Specifically, charter guest Shay called dibs on the British yachtie. However, her boatmance hopes were derailed when pal Lexi flirtatiously rode a jet ski with James. Thus, a fight broke out over dinner, which shocked the Below Deck crew.

It was ladies night on the high seas in this episode of  Below Deck Mediterranean , but as the drinks flowed, some of the women started to get a little handsy  with deckhand  Jack Stirrup . Thankfully,  Captain Sandy swooped in to save the day.

The crew aboard this ship got a show they didn't ask for when two of the guests hooked up in the crow's nest, a part of the ship that everyone could see on camera.

In the same episode that the crew witnessed the on-deck hookup of two of their guests, they also discovered that their passengers also had never heard of cleaning up after themselves when they stumbled upon a used condom on the nightstand.

For the most part, the charter guest is always right. However, in season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , charter guest Erica requested that Captain Glenn Shephard do something to make the ship stop rocking. Unfortunately for Erica, they were in the middle of a thunderstorm and Captain Glenn didn't have the power to control the weather.

Other highlights from this charter group include a woman with hours worth of stories, bullying accusations among the ladies and so much more.

While many guests on  Below Deck have been demanding, this may be the most ridiculous request because of how random it was. On one of the episodes, guests demanded gumballs, but not just any gumballs. They had to be colored gumballs and they even threatened to require they be delivered by helicopter if there were none on board.

Not every guest has found their trip to be a five-star experience, but usually they stick around to give feedback as to why. On this episode of  Below Deck , we learn that a few of the guests straight-up ghosted upon arrival and fled the ship before even saying goodbye to the crew.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

Captain Glenn of Below Deck Sailing Yacht on Canadian food, boating and more

The canadian-born captain dishes on the recent below deck season.

After 14 months of staying at home, the idea of sailing on a super yacht through the pristine waters of Croatia sounds more like a dream than something people are actually able to do anymore. Luckily, for viewers of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, captain Glenn Shepard and his high-spirited crew–and occasionally demanding guests–have made that dream turn into a reality every Monday night on Slice.

Shepard has been the cool and charismatic captain of the super yacht sailboat Parsifal III, which has been the set of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht franchise since its inaugural season in 2020. He has quickly become a favourite in the Below Deck fandom for his easy-going nature and calm-under-pressure attitude.

below deck sailing yacht canadian guests

Originally from Montreal, Shepard now calls sunny Palma de Mallorca home...and I am very jealous. I caught up with the captain to discuss what it’s really like for his team to serve food and drinks on open waters and, of course, some of his favourite Canadian foods.

This current season must have been intense to film. Did you notice that the dynamic was different between the staff on the boat because the pandemic didn't allow the team for many off-site meals, drinks or experiences?

Yeah, definitely. I mean it had an effect, but I think that the team dealt with it really well. You know, we just had to.

They had to have their own fun as much as possible on the boat. I made an effort to stay out of their hair and let them have the run of the boat on the nights in-between charters so that they could blow off a little steam.

That's really important, to be able to recharge the batteries and get ready for the next one.

Food service seems a lot more difficult on Sailing Yacht compared to the other Below Deck shows. How often does the boat tilting cause trouble for the interior staff when you're sailing?

Well, the bar is not too bad because you can just hand the drinks to the guests, you know? The interior is very good at making drinks and stuff like that, but cooking is a whole different story.

Obviously, sometimes you know hours beforehand so it's always a little bit of a battle between the guests who have an expectation for this amazing meal at the end of a long day of sailing and I have to come manage it.

I want to give the guests as much sailing as possible. For the chef there's some things they can prep while sailing and other things that they can't. So that's always a challenge but we just make it work.

I had one charter that wasn't on the show where we actually sailed all the way across the Atlantic with guests on board. And you know also that was like all meals served in bowls. I mean they loved it and that's all they wanted to do, but it just depends on the situation. You just do your best.

It seems like sometimes the most dramatic moments are the preference sheet meetings and as a die-hard Below Deck fan I'm dying to know, if you were going on as a guest, what is the one meal and drink you would have on your preference sheet?

That’s a great question. I’m not much of a gourmand or you know, I'm very down to earth, really basic...I'm like a ribs and pizza kinda guy.

I grew up in Montreal–and you may have never heard of [this place]–but there was a rib place in Montreal called Barbie Barn and I used to love going there. I would definitely want ribs...and I love pizza.

I prefer Italian and Singapore-style pizza over North American pizza, so I would probably have that on my list. What else? French onion soup, bagels...that’s all the stuff I would want. Also a nice steak and pepper sauce with fries or a gold old fashioned smoked meat sandwich would be amazing. I don’t get that very often in Europe.

And what's the one must-have drink you request to have on board?

I'm not much of a hard alcohol person. I like margaritas and daiquiris and stuff like that. I like umbrella drinks, you know, I don't drink that much. What else? Kahlua or Baileys on the rocks or maybe a mudslide. I don't do whiskey or anything. I'm just like when I'm in the Caribbean, it’s margaritas.

Since you just mentioned that you're from Montreal, is poutine something you miss while traveling abroad?

I do, you know, I left quite young. I don't even know if poutine was much of a thing when I left in the 80s, but you know, I've gone back to visit and whenever I'm there, yeah, I get it. I love it. And it is unique. Like it's unique to Montreal or Quebec, isn't it? I mean, that's where it started.

When I'm back in Montreal I get a poutine and my folks were originally from Halifax, so whenever I'm over there I get a donair. I love the donairs. I don't know if there's a famous Montreal donair, but the ones in Halifax are amazing.

Viewers get to watch a lot of guests do wild things or make wild requests on Below Deck. Where do you guys draw the line between the customer is always right and a guest is asking too much of your staff?

For me the big thing would be safety. So if it's not affecting safety, then we're going to go all out to try and give them anything they want. But you know, a part of safety is getting proper rest, and we have restrictions where the crew has to get proper rest.

But–and that's very delicate–we try to give them everything we physically can. I don't draw the line too quickly. You know, unless it's a space issue, we try to get everything we can.

This season on Below Deck we saw the scandal of the poached eggs and the hollandaise sauce. Do you think that poached eggs are typically served with hollandaise sauce?

You know, like I said, I'm not a foodie, but I’ve worked in a few restaurants and I think that was a mistake or misunderstanding. You know? Because, no, I don't think so.

Maybe she was busy and heard eggs Benedict, not poached eggs. I think somehow she kind of got confused and just jumped the gun and made what she thought she heard. I think it was a misunderstanding. And then maybe because of the tension she was being defensive about it. So that's my take, you know. I think it was a mistake for sure, and it was nine guests.

Correct me if I'm wrong, that seems like a lot on a sailing boat. Based on what we’ve seen so far, that seems like much more than you usually have.

Yeah, that's kind of a full house. They were running us a little bit ragged, but you know again, I don't want to sound like we can't handle it. We can, you know. I've had 12 guests many, many times, but you know it depends on the situation and maybe you would want to have a sous chef to manage the load.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht  Recap: Gary’s Getting Old

Below deck sailing yacht.

below deck sailing yacht canadian guests

Well, we got the giddy Captain Glenn we so badly wanted. In the cheeky race against La Cattiva , our dear  Parsifal III  manages to pull ahead — despite being back by 550 meters at one point — and take first place. In a confessional, Captain Glenn admits that his mission is always to deliver an epic sailing experience. Mission accomplished, matey! And it paid off: Our guests tipped $16,400, or $1,820 per person. Not the highest figure we’ve seen this season, but nothing to scoff at. Now our chaotic crew has 27 hours ’til showtime, and they’re going to celebrate the best way they can: binge drinking!

Colin is marriage material, and all the girls agree (more on this later), but he is also the voice of reason onboard, and his actions in this charter earn him a special shoutout. At the top of the episode, he pulls Gary aside and tells him he must let Ashley know he has feelings for Scarlett. It’s the respectful thing to do, plus Colin doesn’t want Ashley to lose her shit (again). Gary listens for once and attempts to have a heart to heart with Ashley. They’re both insane people, so obviously the conversation is useless, but it ends with Ashley huffing that she doesn’t care and Scarlett and Gary can do whatever.

Ashley immediately starts venting to Daisy and Kelsie, who laugh at Gary’s suggestion that there’s chemistry between him and Scarlett — the insinuation that Gary has chemistry with anyone, as opposed to just being horny, is objectively funny. Scarlett overhears a bit of this and is pissy. She thinks she’s special! Maybe you are, but that’s not why Gary is into you, babe! He’s literally into anyone with a pulse. Daisy says it best: “I am trying to teach the women how to be a team, and of course Gary and his small dick ruin everything.”

Back to marriage-material Colin. To celebrate their night off, the cast piles in their sprinter vans to get whisked away to dinner. As usual, girls are in one, boys in another. Kelsie asks Scarlett, now that she’s finished a charter, who would she fuck, marry, kill out of the guys.  Everyone  says they’d marry Colin. This is the correct answer. Daisy and Kelsie say they’d fuck Marcos. This is also the correct answer. Scarlett says she’d fuck Gary. Oh, Scarlett, you’ll realize your mistake soon enough.

We don’t know what the boys talk about in their car, but we see a snippet of Marcos and Colin’s gorgeous conversation at dinner about egos, masculinity, limits, sustainability, friendship, and vulnerability. Colin is worried Marcos is overexerting himself and wants him to know he’s there for him. More of this, please!

At the other end of the table, Daisy and Scarlett get into a bit of a snafu over … Who guessed it? Say it with me now! Gary! Daisy is a little aggro, but nothing too out of the ordinary. She’s trying to warn Scarlett about Gary’s Lothario tendencies! Don’t save her, Daisy — she don’t wanna be saved. Scarlett, meanwhile, is mad that Daisy is trying to control her “love life” (LOL) and tears up. Ashley states that maybe Scarlett should focus on her job, which is rich. Daisy and Scarlett leave the table to patch things up, and it mostly works. Daisy feels bad for snapping at Scarlett, but I don’t blame her. She’s watched Gary wreak havoc for seven charters now. She just wants to be a mother hen and protect her ducklings! While the girls are away, Colin remarks to Gary that he can’t help but think Gary’s responsible for the tears. Not wrong, Colin! Also Gary really needs to start using SPF.

Is another love match on the horizon? Barnaby’s devotion to Daisy is sweet in a sad way. She’ll never love you, my friend, but that doesn’t stop him from trying. He says to her: “Never blame yourself. Blame Gary. You can’t make Scarlett and Ashley happy at the same time; remember that.” The wisdom jumped out! “What would Barnaby do?” is my new mantra. In the taxi back to the boat, Daisy gives Barnaby a sweet but chaste kiss. It definitely made his whole trip. In the other taxi, Kelsie farts and nearly annihilates Marcos and Colin. I really do love her.

The crew parties onboard, but nothing of substance happens save for the genius producer who wrote out subtitles of everyones’ slurred speech. Gary asking for a shot is translated as “ Hummawannadishiba ,” and Daisy’s version of reading between the lines is written as ” Loinnee .” Has a Bravo producer ever missed? No, seriously. Also of note: Scarlett rejects Gary’s advances and sleeps in her own bed.

The next morning, everyone is hungover and cleaning, blah blah, and Captain Glenn realizes there are some major obstacles ahead weather-wise. They’re going to have to clear out of the dock and anchor in calmer waters. The guests will be joining them via dinghy, and it doesn’t look like there will be much sailing for the next few days. Bummer, but they’re Canadian, so they’re polite about it. Their preference sheet, however, is not polite. They request molecular gastronomy. They also request a relay race with the crew. Why do guests subject the crew to mandatory fun? It’s so rude!

These guests clearly want the crew to be their friends and inform Ashley that they’ve already christened her “Smashley.” I mean, it does fit. She takes the nickname with stride but fumbles the bag by revealing how she fell out of her bed while shit-faced. Let’s keep it professional, Smash!

I also already feel for Marcos because, at the end of the episode, he receives bad news. His best friend’s mother passed, and he’s stuck onboard cooking. He calls his sister, but the connection is choppy, and dinner is in two hours. I just want to give him a hug. We get a preview that Captain Glenn is joining the guests for the molecular gastronomy meal, which throws off Marcos’s precise plan that he clearly doesn’t want to be dealing with anyway. I hope he remembers his conversation with Colin and knows he can rely on his teammates to help lift him up; I don’t want to see Marcos suffer.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 Cast: Where Are They Now?

Here's what happened to Daisy, Colin, Captain Glenn and the rest of the Parsifal crew.

preview for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 trailer (Bravo)

While Season 1 of the Below Deck 's second spin-off Sailing Yacht felt tame—for lack of a better word—fans have been in for quite a treat with a nearly all-new and far more exciting cast for Season 2. So far, we've been introduced to the likes of Chief Engineer Colin Macrae, Chef Natasha, and Chief Stewardess, Daisy, all of whom have become fan favorites, and rightfully so. As the crew navigates the waters of Croatia, that isn't the only thing they're sailing through. With a plethora of hookups and questionable charter guests, this season is shaping up to be one of the rockiest.

Considering the series filmed in August 2020, viewers are curious about the whereabouts of our Sailing Yacht favorites...and, more importantly, how the cast and crew managed to film for several weeks amid lockdown. As it turns out, the location of this season was chosen intentionally. At that time, Croatia remained one of few countries in the EU to accept American tourists. In a Reddit AMA , a producer for the show also explained that maintaining safety protocols (which likely included regular Covid testing) was key in filming this season.

Here's what happened to your favorite crew members from Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2:

Colin Macrae

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured colin macrae photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Colin Macrae might serve as the Chief Engineer aboard the Parsifal III, however, when it comes to the inner workings of his relationship, things aren’t as black and white. Despite gushing over his relationship with Martina Alvarez last summer, Macrae revealed that he and Martina have officially parted ways. “Unfortunately my relationship with Martina came to an end a couple of months ago,” Colin captioned his most recent YouTube video . Although his romance is no more, Colin remains optimistic for what’s to come as he embarks on a “fresh start” in none other than Panama. Colin has also continued his efforts in creating content online documenting his many adventures in Linton Bay, Panama , where he’s resided over the course of the last few months.

Glenn Shephard

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured captain glenn shephard photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Captain Glenn Shephard is back and better than ever! The sailboat captain may only have 2 seasons of Below Deck under his belt, but his 20 years of experience certainly make him a notable addition to the Bravo family. Since his summer in Croatia last year, Gl enn has since moved to Spain , which Shephard has deemed his new “happy place.” While becoming a Bravo-lebrity can go to one’s head, Glenn has remained modest when it comes to his newfound fame. The star now offers Zoom sessions with fans of the show, where he dishes on behind-the-scenes details all while sipping cocktails on the Spanish coast.

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured gary king photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

First Officer Gary King walked away from his very first season on Below Deck Sailing Yacht feeling nothing but grateful. “Reminiscing about the last 6 weeks that have just flown by. I learned lessons that I’ll carry for life,” Gary wrote on Instagram . While fans have been rooting for him and fellow stewardess, Alli Dore to set sails on a possible romance, it appears as King has been flying solo since the series ended. After traveling about to a number of stunning locations, including Mallorca, Spain, Gary returned home to South Africa just in time for Christmas. The Bravo star has since remained in his home country, occupying himself with a series of visits to the golf range and a new passion for landscape photography and cooking.

Natasha De Bourg

The Michelin-star chef has been tuning in this season from her home in the Bahamas, and, well, she hasn't taken to it favorably. The star has posted a series of pics on her Instagram detailing her frustrations with herself on the show, claiming that she is “human and humans are imperfect.” Luckily for Natasha, her friendship with both Dani and Alli has blossomed immensely since wrapping up, and the two have been a huge support for Natasha as she cruises through these waves of criticism.

Daisy Kelliher

Being the Chief Stewardess on any yacht is no easy feat, and Daisy Kelliher is certainly feeling the burn. Following her time at sea in Croatia, Daisy, unfortunately, broke her wrist and found herself back home with mom and dad in Ireland . During lockdown, Daisy accepted a job in Antigua two months later, however, due to the current situation, her efforts at finding adventure fell flat. “I had completely lost myself,” Daisy captioned her photo on Instagram , revealing she began pushing friends away and entered a dark space. Luckily for the Below Deck star, she feels like herself again and is set to start a new job. During a live chat, Daisy revealed to co-star, Sydney Zaruba that she is most likely headed back to Europe, although she’s left much of what she’ll be doing a mystery.

Dani Soares

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured daniele soares photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Dani Soares soared to being a fan favorite this current season and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Soares, who reigns all the way from Brazil, has gone on to make quite a name for herself since her summer in Croatia. The star currently resides in Sydney, Australia where she is expecting her very first child. Dani revealed the news on social media back in April, however, both her due date and daddy status remain unknown. Although fans have inquired who the father is, Soares made it clear that it isn’t “anybody’s business.” As she embarks on her journey towards motherhood, Dani is currently working as a beauty therapist in the land down under all while taking in her recent rise to fame.

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured alli dore photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Alli Dore is the third stewardess to join the hit Bravo series, and boy are we glad she did. After wrapping up her summer in Croatia, Alli returned home to Australia, where she was born and raised. Her love for boating didn’t stop when the summer did, as she went on to spend her time in the Whitsundays Islands. As for Alli’s personal life, the star made an appearance on the Unpopular podcast where she revealed that she is pansexual. [I am] “attracted to people’s aura,” she revealed. Alli has gone on to start her very own IGTV series called Pita Party , which she stars in alongside Sailing Yacht co-stars, Daisy and Dani.

Sydney Zaruba

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured sydney zaruba photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Sydney Zaruba found herself in quite the love triangle last summer in Croatia, but today, she is all about keeping her inner circle small. Sydney, who was born and raised in Florida, moved on over to the stunning island of Mallorca, Spain where she currently works on a 42-meter sailing yacht! This is nothing new for Sydney; considering her experience on Below Deck and, of course, her long history of sailing with her family. In addition to being at sea, Sydney decided to become a travel agent with Explorateur Travel. While the cast of Sailing Yacht has gone their separate ways since the summer ended, Sydney still managed to bump into none other than Captain Glenn on the streets of Palma.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured jean luc cerza lanaux photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Jean-Luc may be the youngest Below Deck crew member but he certainly makes up for it in height? Following his summer working on the Parsifal III, Jean-Luc traveled to Mallorca, Spain, an idea many of his co-stars had as well. Shortly after, the 25-year-old made his way on over to Costa Rica , which he’s called home for the last several months. Despite the remarkable views, Jean-Luc is entering some rocky waters as a plethora of rumors have surfaced questioning his role in Dani Soares’ pregnancy. Not only have fans been flooding his social media with questions concerning whether he’s the father or not, but fellow charter guest, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow also went on to add fuel to the fire. In an Instagram video posted back in April, Barrie claimed that Jean-Luc “was too busy getting the other one [Dani] pregnant … He’s gonna be a daddy,” he said. While Dani laughed off the comment, Jean-Luc has yet to address the rumors.

About below deck sailing yacht.

Capt. Glenn and his comeback team Daisy Kelliher, Gary King and Colin MacRae resume their responsibilities aboard Parsifal III, along with new, dynamic crew members, as they set sail in Sardinia, Italy.

Capt. Glenn realizes that his laid-back leadership style has allowed his crew to become too comfortable and starts taking charge of quality control in the interior department, much to Daisy's dismay. In the galley, Chef Ilesha's cooking impresses the guests, but her indecisiveness and co-dependency lead to time-management issues between courses, which causes her to self-destruct. On deck, strong personalities collide, and a power struggle results in a near mutiny, as Gary clashes with his new overconfident deckhand, Chase.

Two overlapping love triangles further complicate the dynamics on-board, and a shocking hookup puts Colin, Daisy and Gary’s friendship in jeopardy.

With a near collision, fire, crew rebellion, gruesome guest injury and two different potentially season-ending engine failures, this is the most captivating and unpredictable season yet of Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

Erica Rose on Below Deck Sailing Yacht: Who is the returning charter guest?

Who is return Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guest Erica Rose?

Erica Rose returns for her second stint as a charter guest on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

On Season 2 of the sailing show, Erica, her mom Cindy, and a group of friends boarded Parsifal III. They were a very high-maintenance group.

Chief stew Daisy Kelliher and first-officer Gary King had the best reaction to learning Erica was back for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3. This time around, Erica and Cindy are joined by their husbands and a new crop of friends.

Gary and Daisy clearly haven’t forgotten Erica and her voice, but for those who have, here’s a little refresher on the returning charter guest.

Who is Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guest Erica Rose?

Erica was no stranger to reality television before she debuted on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. The Bachelor fans will remember her from Season 9 featuring Prince Lorenzo Borghese. She went on to appear on Bachelor Pad Season 2 and 3.

Other reality TV shows Erica appeared on include VH1’s You’re Cut Off! And Bravo’s Married to Medicine Houston. Erica appeared on the latter with her mother, Cindy.

After her stints on reality television, Erica enrolled at the University of Houston Law Center to become a lawyer. Erica obtained her master’s degree in Entertainment Law from Southwestern Law School.

The blonde lawyer currently owns Rose Sanders Law Firm, where she works with her husband, Charles.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Erica Rose ? Sanders (@ericatherose)

When did Erica and Charles get married?

Before meeting her husband Charles Sanders, Erica was engaged to another lawyer, Galen Gentry. Their whirlwind romance produced their daughter, Holland Rose Madelaine Gentry. Galen and Erica called off their engagement shortly after Holland was born in 2016.

A few months later, Erica reconnected with Charles, whom she had known since high school. The happy couple reconnected via his cousin and Bumble, according to Distractify.

Charles proposed to Erica in the fall of 2017. They were married a couple of months later. Erica and Charles welcomed their daughter, Aspen Rose Sanders, in 2018.

Erica Rose returns to Below Deck Sailing Yacht for Season 3. The blonde beauty has been promoting her stint on the hit Bravo show.

Whether fans like her or hate her, one thing is for sure. There’s never a dull moment when Erica and her friends are around.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Gary King is going on the record to clarify that the show is definitely not scripted . The news comes in the middle of rumors surrounding producer plants and fake storylines in the Below Deck franchise . However, after his years of experience as a crew member, the reality star can confirm that the drama is as real as it gets.

King recently took to Instagram and answered some fan questions on his story. One of the questions read: “Do the Below Deck producers tell guests to act crazy or are the guests just crazy?” As a response, King denied the rumors and claimed that all guests on the show were actually just crazy.

Another follower asked the reality star whether the producers influenced the drama on the show. Gary replied with a joke saying: “Yeah, they asked us to crash the boat” before clarifying that he was just kidding and that Below Deck Saling Yacht is a completely unscripted show. The yachting industry veteran clarified that the producers let things play out as they are without telling anyone what to do.

'Below Deck' Has Been Accused of Faking Storylines Previously

According to Below Deck executive producers Mark Cronin and Courtland Cox , fans have a huge misconception about the franchise. Cox believes that the viewers don’t understand how real Below Deck is. She added that as producers, his and Cronin’s job is to stay in the background and let things happen. The producer also claimed that the things that actually happen on the show are too wild for anyone to come up with.

Linda P. Jones , who was a guest on Below Deck Season 6, also went on the record to talk about her experience on the show. She took to her personal website and explained that Below Deck is 100 percent real . Jones also spilled the beans on her one-on-one time with Captain Lee and expressed how fascinating it was to hear his stories and ask him questions. She was also all praises for crew members Kate Chastain and Josiah Carter for their professionalism and the five star service they provided to all the guests.

The former guest talked about her time on the yacht and explained how nerve-wracking it is as guests. Jones confessed that while she avoided going down the slide because she didn’t want to be on camera with her makeup smeared and hair wet. She also shared that none of the guests faced any service problems except one night when they didn’t have any bath towels in their rooms. However, she noted that the moment never made it to the show.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 is expected to premiere in Fall 2024. All previous seasons of the show are available to stream on Peacock in the U.S.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Below deck sailing yacht: producers not firing gary king for his bad behavior proves the show doesn't care about its cast, daisy kelliher finally reveals if below deck manipulates storylines amid producer plant accusations.

While there is still no definite news about the next season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , Gary King made headlines by dropping a bombshell allegation about his accuser. Gary has had a history of questionable conduct and behavior during his time as Bosun of various yachts on the popular Below Deck spin-off. After Gary was accused of sexual misconduct , Bravo removed the cast of Below Deck Sailing Yacht from the lineup at BravoCon and has yet to reveal the future of the television show. These allegations against Gary and his previous inappropriate behavior seem to have tarnished Sailing Yacht 's reputation.

"I know it’s super sad, and it honestly hurt so much and affected my whole family, I’m just glad it’s in the past."

Gary has continued acting as if these troubling allegations are false and that he will be in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5. In the comments section of a recent post on Gary 's Instagram, Instagram user @unicornmagic78 asked, " Just out of curiosity, was there an investigation into the allegations? "

Gary responded to the question by saying, " Her and her boyfriend (now ex I hear) weren’t invited back to any BD due to the problems they caused, so she wanted revenge and to try [to] make some money out of it. " Gary continues to claim these allegations against him are false.

Gary King Claims His Life Has Been “Ruined” Amid Misconduct Allegations

Gary might not return to below deck sailing yacht after alleged behavior.

Things are not looking good for Gary's future on television now that he is facing serious accusations of sexual misconduct, which caused Bravo to take a step back not only from Below Deck Sailing Yacht but from Gary as well. Gary continued his response to the original poster, saying, " To me, I knew it never happened, but it affected my family and potentially ruined my career because of her lies :( was honestly the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. " Gary went on to say that he is now in a much better place but that this experience has been scary.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Another commenter, @michae1ajane , replied to Gary's response, saying, " I never believed that horrible story, and it made me sick how quickly people jumped on it and were so unbelievably mean to/about you. Does this mean you’ll be back? " Many have also wondered if Gary will return for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, while Bravo remains silent on the issue . Gary sidestepped the question by answering, " I know it’s super sad, and it honestly hurt so much and affected my whole family, I’m just glad it’s in the past, but haters will hate, and there will always be trolls. "

Gary believes his time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht was memorable, fun, and exciting for everyone involved. However, his personality clashed with many of his crewmates during filming. Gary has a rough demeanor that can rub people the wrong way, which has led to many issues with those who were assigned to work under him. Aside from work-related problems, Gary was also involved in many toxic " boatmances " during filming for the seasons he was on, including one love triangle. Gary’s inability to control his behavior may have cost him any future he could have had in the Below Deck franchise.

This is not the first time a show in the Below Deck franchise has faced allegations of sexual misconduct and impropriety. As these accusations begin to build up, Bravo faces more and more pressure to get its stars under control and head away from serious legal problems. Although Gary is adamant that he will be back for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 , it may be in the best interest of Bravo and its shows to cut ties with Gary. Below Deck Sailing Yacht has already missed the period when it would have aired this year, leaving its future unknown.

‘Below Deck’ Sailing Yacht Shares Chilling Link To Sunken Morgan Stanley Billionaire’s Boat ‘Bayesian’

Much has been made of the tragic events that unfolded earlier this week off the Sicilian coast, with the Morgan Stanley international chairman initially missing before being found dead alongside tech founder Mike Lynch. Adding more intrigue to the tale, a strange link between the sunk Bayesian yacht and hit show Below Deck has been uncovered…

The Italian shipyard Perini Navi, which built the PARSIFAL III — the yacht featured in the popular reality show Below Deck that rammed a pier due to an engine malfunction — is also the maker of the Bayesian , which tragically sank on August 19.

PARSIFAL III Misadventure

Below Deck is an American reality TV series that made its debut in 2013 on Bravo TV . The show, to date, is running on season 11, with a new cast of crews on every luxury superyacht during its chartering season. Their challenges while catering to wealthy guests are depicted on the show. The PARSIFAL III , a 177-foot yacht, suffered a big mishap during an episode of the show’s second Sailing Yacht season which first aired on May 17, 2021.

While trying to maneuver in bad weather, the yacht hit a dock because its engine broke down. In an explanation, Yacht’s Captain Glenn Shephard said:

“I was using a different maneuver mode. And there’s a computer in between the throttles and the propeller that adjusts the load on the engine. Maybe my inputs were too much for the computer and it kind of, I don’t know, froze or didn’t react in the right way. I’m not really 100 percent sure. But I was pushing ahead and it was still moving backwards, which is not normal.”

Some of the wreckage was visible floating in the sea after the accident. Luckily, no serious damage was caused in this crash. Launched in 2005, PARSIFAL III can accommodate up to 12 charter guests in a master suite, two double cabins, and two twin cabins. The yacht also has a Jacuzzi and two Open Bic sailboats for guests to play with.

Not So Lucky

The Bayesian , also created by Perini Navi, was not as lucky. Sailing in a sudden and strong squall that created too much wind and conditions for the yacht to handle, the vessel sank after its mast broke in half off the coast of Sicily near the fishing village of Porticello   in the early hours of Monday.

Of the 22 people on board at the time of the tragedy, 15 were rescued, while six others lost their lives, among them being the chairman of Morgan Stanley International, Jonathan Bloomer, and tech tycoon Mike Lynch.

His daughter Hannah Lynch, 18, is still missing, and rescuers are frantically searching for her. Lynch was a British technology entrepreneur who achieved fame through his software company, Autonomy Corporation, which Hewlett-Packard bought for over $11 billion USD in 2011.
