Offshore Powerboat Racing World Championships

When: November 3 - November 10, 2024

Where: Truman Waterfront Park, Southard St, Key West, FL 33040

The Race World Offshore (RWO) is bringing together teams and fans for an exciting Offshore World Championship experience in Key West from November 3rd-10th, 2024. Recognized as the leading Offshore Racing Sanctioning authority in the US, RWO aims to present an unforgettable week featuring the world's top offshore race teams. The event will be held in the Race Village, situated at Truman Waterfront Park, which will be open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.

The championship offers several highlights including:

• Three days of racing on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday (1st race time at 10 am, followed by 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, and 2:30 pm start times).
• A live stream of the races on a Jumbo LED stage in the Race Village.
• A variety of vendors and food available each day.
• Access to the Navy Outermole for optimal viewing of the races.
• Amenities such as bleachers, food, music, and entertainment.
• The Race Day's Hospitality Village, and award ceremonies held on the Outermole after each race on Wednesday and Friday.

The week begins with the World's Fastest Boat Parade on Duval Street the Sunday prior, followed by a variety of activities throughout the week, including a block party, the 3rd Annual Build-A-Boat Contest, and a shuttle service on race days for Outer Mole VIP guests. The final Sunday Racing marks the World Championship Day, culminating in the UIM World Champion Awards & Closing Ceremonies in the Race Village.

General admission to Race Day will be Sold On-site at Truman Waterfront Park.

The RWO UIM World Championships in Key West rival marquee events like the Daytona 500, Monaco Grand Prix, and the Indianapolis 500, offering a thrilling and unique Offshore Racing Experience.

The Full Schedule of Events for the week covers everything from the opening Parade to the award ceremonies and closing concert, including inspections, registration, meetings, fueling, testing, racing, post-race technical inspections, entertainment events, and hospitality services. In addition to the races themselves, there are a number of concerts, parties, and community events scheduled throughout the week, promising an exhilarating, comprehensive experience for both the teams and the fans.

The Zone 97.7 WAVK “Sports Radio for the Keys” is the official radio station of the 41st Annual Key West World Championship Off-Shore PowerBoat Races. Join us each race day, Wednesday Nov 9th, Friday Nov 11 and Sunday Nov 13th starting at 9:45 each morning for Flag to Flag coverage of every race from the sports team that has covered the Races from the beginning. The legendary play-by-play voice of Off-Shore Powerboat Racing Todd Swofford who has covered the races since the early 1980’s will lead our team. Todd will be joined by veteran broadcaster JW Powell, Joey Cooke from The Keys Citizen along with an array of longtime racers who will add plenty of insight during each race. Key West's Annual Powerboat Races

This November, one of the most anticipated Key West events of the year takes place from November 6th through the 13th. While Fantasy Fest takes the crown for partying and reveling, its the powerboat races that takes the crown for excitement and pure adrenaline rushes. Race boat enthusiasts from all over the world descend on the United States' southernmost island of Key West Florida to watch the powerboat races on three different days, this year landing on November 9th, November 11th, and November 13th.

The World Championship Powerboat Races in Key West Florida

The powerboat races that take place in Key West are the culmination of the best teams that have been racing and competing throughout the year. That is part of the reason why these particular powerboat races are such a big deal, and why all the downtown Key West hotels sell out for this week months in advance. Event coordinators set up stands and bleachers for visitors to watch all the action right at the edge of the water. The Races and the In-Between Days

This year, races take place on November 9th, 11th, and 13th. During these days, visitors can see the world champion boat racers take on the challenging 6 and a half mile course. On the days when there are no races, visitors are welcome to interact with the powerboat drivers and their crew on the Truman Waterfront.
