35m Pershing motor yacht Kolaha Two for sale

The 35.1-metre Pershing motor yacht Kolaha Two is newly listed for sale with Stig Jensen of SuperYachtsMonaco.

Delivered by Italian yard Pershing in 2013, she is the latest GRP Pershing 115 model built and "features an expansive and seamlessly connected outdoor space" according to the broker.

Designed by Fulvio de Simoni , she accommodates a party of eight guests in four cabins and is finished in "luxurious materials" showing the finest of Italian craftsmanship. There are quarters for a crew of five. The spacious, full-beam saloon has a dining area forward and the helmstation forward again.

The aft deck is fully equipped for al fresco dining with built in upholstered seating, a table, direct access to the swimming platform and a removable sun shade. Up on the flybridge, guests are offered lounge chairs, a bar and a shower.

The 189GT yacht for sale is powered by MAN engines driving KaMeWa waterjets and giving a cruising speed of 30 knots and top speed of 34 knots. She has been significantly upgraded during her recent 10-year RINA class survey.

Pershing 140 Superyacht Walkthrough

Built exclusively at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, Italy, the Pershing 140 is the culmination of the collaborative efforts of naval architect Fulvio De Simoni, the Ferretti Group’s engineering team and the brand’s product strategy committee.

The most unique feature of the Pershing 140 is her beach club area with fold-out panels on three sides, creating an on-water lounge space that rivals other superyachts on the water. This space flows easily onto the main-deck aft open-air lounge and dining area and up to the sundeck, allowing for easy access to and enjoyment of the yacht’s alfresco spaces.

The main deck features sunpads and a lounge space furthest aft. Moving forward, there is a covered dining table for 10. Stepping inside, the yacht’s full-beam main salon is flanked by windows that flood the space with natural light. Further forward is a formal dining table for 12. The owner’s suite is located forward on the main deck. This full-beam sanctuary features an en-suite his-and-hers bathroom that can be outfitted to an owner’s specifications. The first edition of the Pershing 140 featured a private lounge and walk-in closet.

The lower deck of the Pershing 140 is home to the remaining guest staterooms, two doubles and two twins. Each stateroom is outfitted with an en-suite bathroom.

The sundeck of the Pershing 140 is easily a favorite space. An aluminum hardtop offers shade and protection. Situated underneath is a full bar and a lounge area as well as a barbecue grill. Fore and aft of this are open-air spaces for guests to enjoy the sunshine. These spaces are customizable. Some may opt to put a Jacuzzi and sunpads forward and a lounge space aft.

It was an egg-cellent surprise.

For the first time, a zoo in England saw two male Chilean flamingos hatch a chicklet together.

Although proud parents Authur and Curtis didn’t biologically produce their new offspring, Paignton Zoo bird curator Pete Smallbones said the little one, still to be named, is having the time of its life exploring the habitat.

“The parents are obviously doing a great job,” he told CNN .

“Regarding the same-sex parenting, we aren’t entirely sure how this has come about,” Smallbones added in a release .

The best possible explanation is that the egg had been “abandoned” by another flamingo pair and was “adopted” by the new loving parents, according to the curator, who noted that this is somewhat common among the species.

Paul Rose, a biologist at the Unversity of Exeter, told CNN that same-sex pairs are more common in captivity, but “hatching an egg is more unusual.”

“These two male flamingos were likely very keen to nest but could not attract a female partner, and so the same urge to nest brought them together.”

It typically takes 28 days for a flamingo egg to hatch, according to the zoo, which has many more still to crack.

They are then incubated on piles of mud nests by other parents — Arthur and Curtis in this case — and at first appear much more gray than their pink adult counterparts.

As for the parental instincts of the two fellas, that comes naturally, according to Cornell ornithologist Kevin McGowan.

“There is a grand desire to have kids, and these two guys [Arthur and Curtis] figured out how to do it,” he told CNN.
