  • Interior crew who provide five-star guest services such as serving meals, drinks, cleaning and maintaining the interior, including staterooms, laundry, and more

Whether you plan to party all night in Ibiza, or you’d rather relax with a glass of wine in a historic city center, you’re in for a luxury travel experienc e unlike any other. What should you plan to do and see? Here are some of the reasons the Mediterranean is the world’s most popular destination for a luxury yacht charter :

History The body of water the Romans called “mare nostrum” (or “our sea”) is full of historical landmarks important to all of modern Western civilization, from the basilicas of Italy to the earliest churches and monasteries of France and Spain. It’s an architectural goldmine and an inspiration to those who visit. UNESCO World Heritage Sites dot the landscape, as do museums, galleries, and centuries-old historical markers. If you’re interested in art and culture, you’ll love it here.

Food It’s no secret that most of the cities, towns, and villages bordering the Mediterranean Sea are famous for their cuisines. And for foodies, the Mediterranean is a destination like no other. In every port of call, you’ll find a place serving to-die-for foods. From the Michelin-starred restaurants of Monaco to the seaside cafes in Cannes, charter guests are welcomed by great food wherever they go.

Luxury Shopping The Mediterranean is one of the world’s top fashion destinations, with France and Italy holding as much significance in the industry as New York City. Across the region, visitors can explore high-end designer boutiques selling couture garments, accessories, and handbags. Planning to shop? Try Le Metropole Shopping center in Monte-Carlo, one of the world’s best fashion shopping centers. Porto Cervo in Sardinia and La Croisette in Cannes are also must-visit shopping destinations.

Festivals In the Mediterranean, guests are regularly treated to great food, wine, sporting, and cultural festivals. Cannes Film Festival, of course, might be the most famous, drawing A-list celebrities from around the world. Yet, every weekend in the summer, there’s a seaside festival to attend.

Water Sports The waters in the Mediterranean are inviting, and chances are, you’ll spend quite a bit of time in the water while on charter. In particular, the Mediterranean is a hotspot for kitesurfing and windsurfing – especially throughout Italy. Yet, sea kayaking and paddle-boarding are other top activities on a Mediterranean charter. Bottom line, you’ll bask in the sapphire waters during your visit.

Scuba Diving The Mediterranean is rich with history inland, as well as under the sea. In fact, you’ll find incredible dive spots throughout the region. Secca della Colombara and Punta Omo Morto in Italy are favorite dive spots, for example.

Wine For wine-lovers, the Mediterranean is a mecca, offering the best glasses in all of the world. The region’s wine-making tradition, of course, goes back thousands of years, and in every port of call, you’ll find a wine bar, cellar, or bodega serving the best wines. From Sassicaia and Ornellaia from Italy to Bordeaux from France, wine lovers will find much to try and taste in the Mediterranean.

Beach Hopping The Mediterranean offers it all. Art, culture, food, you name it. But there’s another reason to book a luxury yacht charter : Mediterranean beaches! From the Amalfi Coast to Ibiza, from St. Tropez to Sicily, you’ll be welcomed by sun-soaked, white-sand beaches offering the best spots to relax and take in the scenery in every port of call.

Super Yacht Charter: Cruising Conditions

Across the Mediterranean, charter guests are welcomed by amazing cruising conditions: Small swells, calm seas, and amazing weather. Yet each destination offers its own unique cruising experience.

  • Corsica – Corsica offers more than 700 miles of coastline to explore and is known for its upscale marinas, ports, and stunning anchorages. In particular, the Strait of Bonifacio is a top sailing destination, thanks to its steady natural breezes. Around the island, visitors are welcomed by calm seas and cooling breezes throughout summer, as well as warm water conditions.
  • French Riviera – The South of France has a short coastline – just about 400 nautical miles – but there’s much to see and explore along the Cote d’Azur. Here, you’ll find a collection of the world’s most exclusive marinas – like Port Hercule in Monaco and Port de Saint Tropez Marina – and breathtaking anchorages. (Plaga Mala, for example, is a super-tranquil South of France beach anchorage.) Cruising conditions here are ideal: Steady winds, easy 2- to 4-foot swells in summer, and cool breezes.
  • Spain – The Balearic Islands some of the most beautiful anchorages in all of the Mediterranean. The island of Espalmador is a favorite superyacht anchorage. Plus, the marinas like Mallorca’s Club du Mar attract some of the finest superyachts in the world. Sailing is great throughout summer with warm sea winds – June through August. Spring and fall offer more challenging conditions.
  • Sardinia – One of the top sailing destinations in the Mediterranean, sailors come for the steady sea breezes, as well as the protected waters and safe harbors. Calm seas and warm waters welcome visitors in summer.
  • Italian Riviera – An ideal motor yachting destination , with some of the most exclusive marinas in the country including at Portofino and San Remo, the Italian Riviera is an ideal spot for a luxury motor yachting experience.
  • Amalfi Coast – Here you’ll find a collection of some of the most breathtaking anchorages anywhere in the world: Marina Piccola near Capri and the Pontine Islands are two see-it-to-believe-it anchorages. Due to its somewhat longer passage, Amalfi tends to be better for motor yachts.
  • Sicily – The northern and eastern coasts of Sicily offer the best in sail and motor yachting. Here you’ll find well-established marinas, protected waters, and short passages between destinations. In the nearby Aeolian Islands, island hopping in calm seas is a tradition.

Planning Your Trip: Boat Charter Mediterranean Sample Itineraries

Set sail in glamourous Monaco, before exploring the beautiful beaches of Cannes, St. Tropez, and the Porquerolles Islands. You’ll see all of the Cote d’Azur’s must-see ports on this France yacht charter.
  • Amalfi Coast – This adventure in Amalfi takes you to some of the most incredible islands and villages on the coast. Set sail from Naples, before stopping off on the beautiful islands of Procida and Ischia. Capri, Salerno, and Positano are also on the itinerary – a few of the most exclusive destinations in the region.
  • Balearic Islands – This exploration of Spain’s islands takes you to the most exclusive ports: From the stunning city of Palma on Mallorca to Cala Portinatx on Ibiza and the lovely island of Formentera. You’ll also explore a mix of Mallorca’s quieter, more exclusive eastern ports.

Yacht Rental Mediterranean Sea: How Much Does It Cost?

In general, luxury super yachts rent from $100,000 to more than $1,000,000 per week, plus expenses. Guests must fund an advanced provisioning allowance (APA), which covers expenses like docking fees, fuel, and food, and drink. Italian Riviera Yacht Charters

The Italian Riviera, also known as the Ligurian Riviera, has long been a destination for the world’s rich and famous. Tucked between the Cote d’Azur and Tuscany, this narrow strip of land is home to famous locales such as Portofino, Cinque Terre, Bordighera, San Remo, and Genoa. The old-world flair, colorful buildings, and quaint fishing villages exude style and charm; it’s no wonder this is such a popular charter destination.

Cote d'Azur Yacht Charters

Also known as the French Riviera, the Cote d’Azur is a hub of new superyachts and private yacht charters. Mediterranean cities and towns such as Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Antibes, and the principality of Monaco have become world-renowned, with this sun-drenched area acting as the playground of the rich and famous. This beautiful stretch of coastline was one of the first destinations to be considered a “resort area” due to its great weather and idyllic landscapes.

Corsica Yacht Charters

Located approximately 160 km from the French mainland, this island’s culture is an amalgamation of the various foreign nations that have occupied Corsica over the years. The capital of Corsica is the city of Ajaccio, the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, perhaps Corsica’s most infamous son. Corsica has about 1000 km of coastline, much of it accessible only by boat making it perfect for luxury yacht charter . Mediterranean cliffs and mountains cover much of the island and deliver scenery you will not soon forget.

Sardinia Yacht Charters

The island of Sardinia is the second largest in the Med and a very popular destination for luxury yacht charter. Mediterranean Costa Smeralda, translated to mean the Emerald Coast, is world-renowned for it’s turquoise seas, rugged landscape, and exclusive resorts and hotels. With its beautiful beaches, stunning scenery, fantastic nightlife, and secret grottos to explore, Sardinia is certainly a yachter’s paradise.

Sicily Yacht Charters

The fabled land of Persephone and Aphrodite, Sicily has been enchanting visitors with its natural beauty for centuries. Located in the center of the Mediterranean, directly off the tip of the boot of Italy, this island has been host to the Greeks, Romans, Spanish, Arabs, Normans, and finally the Italians. This has left an indelible imprint not only on the architecture of the region, but on its people as well. With such a varied and rich history, culture, and scenery, Sicily is not to be missed.

Spain & The Balearics Yacht Charters

The Mediterranean coast of Spain and it’s Balearic islands offer a fantastic blend of old world culture, thriving nightlife, picturesque scenery, and fabulous cuisine for those on a private yacht charter. Mediterranean cruising will take you down to the islands of Ibiza, Mallorca, and Menorca for sunshine, hidden bays, old world charm, and secluded beaches. Best to stay off the beaten path to truly experience the essence of these islands. Discover ancient fishing villages for mouthwatering tapas and seafood.

Mediterranean Charters - Which part of the Mediterranean?

A Mediterranean charter will be a vacation experience unmatched anywhere else in the world. With multiple countries each with their own histories and culture, no other body of water gives a charter guest such exceptional diversity to explore. Visit "be seen bucket list destinations" or quiet off the beaten track harbors, you get to choose.

There are two main regions to book a mediterranean yacht charter.

Charter a yacht in the Mediterranean

West Mediterranean

The French Riviera is home to the world's most rich and famous and attracts party goers and the refined elite alike. Southern France provides both the high life and tranquil relaxation. Visiting the French Riviera, you must include Cannes and Monaco. St. Tropez, Antibes, and Nice are very popular also to include on a western mediterranean charter.

The Italian Riviera is famous for its smaller picturesque villages and towns. From the northern coast near France to the islands off Naples and on toward Sicily, there is no better view than one from the sea. Visit Portofino and Cinque Terra, the Amalfi Coast and Naples including Pompeii. Other hotspots include shopping on Capri and visiting the Blue Grotto.

Charter a yacht in Greece

East Mediterranean

Charter yachts can cruise the waters of Greece, Turkey, and Croatia. East Mediterranean yacht charters combine perfect blue green seas with fabled history and natural splendors. This area tends to be less touristy, and there are many ancient sites to explore. One of the world's most beautiful regions, the Aegean overflows with islands that beckon.

Don't forget Venice which might be coordinated with a cruise to Croatia. After all, nothing is as centered around water as Venice! Visit the beautiful island of Santorini. Check out Hvar. Souvenir shop in Bodrum. Aboard your charter yacht against the setting sun, your crew will serve wine and delicious seafood dinners that reflect the local specialties. Calamari, honey, cheese, and olives. The area is more than living history; it's a delicious, sunny destination.

We know clients need to be confident to book a mediterranean charter vacation so we encourage clients to call us and benefit from the experience we've been building for years. All our Mediterranean charters are custom planned just for you.

You'll visit the harbors you want to, when you want to and stay as long as you wish, you just have to return the yacht when and where you planned to. Based on your preferences your yacht's Captain will map out a personal itinerary to suit. So, no need to choose a fixed mediterranean cruise ship itinerary or a pre planned itinerary by a tour company. Western Mediterranean Superyachts

A Western Mediterranean luxury superyacht charter vacation includes such places as France , Italy , Monaco , Spain , Sardinia , Corsica and Sicily  as well as hotspots like St Tropez, Portofino, Capri, Porto Cervo, Costa Esmerelda, Panarea, Cannes, Ville Franche, St Jean Cap Ferrat, Tuscany and Positano. The West Mediterranean is the most famous and popular charter cruising ground in the world for large luxury super yachts. This is because locations are easy to get to from European and American centers and also because these locations are unequaled in their natural beauty, cultural heritage, passion, glamour and style.

Monte Carlo, Monaco © Pierre Pettavino

FRENCH RIVIERA

French Riviera includes the razzle-dazzle, the glitz and glamour, the Versace, the Dior, the Cartier … Nice , Antibes , Cannes , St Tropez and Marseilles…you will find it all here along with the energy and excitement buzzing from Europe ’s superyacht holidaymakers. If, on the other hand, you prefer lovely tranquil anchorages and unassuming waterside seafood restaurants on your yacht charter vacation, you can find this too.

When chartering a yacht on the Côte d'Azur many like to become involved in the excitement and frivolity of Monaco – a destination synonymous with the annual Monaco Grand Prix in May, superyachts, the casinos and the decadence. Monaco is a hub of wealth and glamour and very much a must see.

Cannes is relatively tranquil for most of the year (with the grand exception of the Cannes Film Festival ) and conveys the relaxed feel of a beach resort. Cannes is positioned quite centrally along the French Riviera with easy access to Antibes, Nice and Monaco in the north and St Tropez in the south.

Les Voiles St Tropez

St Tropez is another West Med hot spot for the riotously rich and famous and it deserves a place on any Western Mediterranean yacht charter itinerary. The once sleepy fishing village boasts famous restaurants and night clubs as well as some of the best beaches around. The tiny French seaside town with cobble-stone streets is framed by hills of silvery, ancient olive groves. From the top of the hill, the views of the harbor and coastline are breathtaking and down inside the town the cafes, boutique shops and gelataria’s spill out into the harbor piazza. The portside cafes are a great place to sit and watch the glamorous yachting world go by.

The Italian Tuscan archipelago consists of seven idyllic islands which offer magnificent unspoiled scenery, romantic coastlines and numerous ancient ports. Naples is the yacht charter hub of southern Italy and the gateway to Capri and the Amalfi Coast . Amalfi and the Isle of Capri is another popular superyacht location and it presents some of the most spectacular coastlines in the entire Western Mediterranean.

Millionaires, supermodels and luxury yachts gather in Sardinia during the summer months, especially at the prestigious Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo , near Olbia . Sardinia mixes excitement with the exotic as an island with one of Europe's most stunning coastlines with golden sands disappearing into oceans of blue framed with rugged mountains and powerful landscapes.

Western Mediterranean Yacht Charter Enquiry

Dear Reia - As promised, I wanted to provide you with some further feedback on our experience this year on ELEMENT which I am happy to share with other prospective charterers of this yacht. 1) The Captain was superb. He was very informative, welcoming, and in total charge of the team. He knew the area well and was willing to help us in any which way he could so that we would have a wonderful experience. 2) The rooms were wonderful with all the necessary amenities, great working showers and facilities. 3) The layout was also great with nice size sitting areas and deck on top was were we mostly stayed. 4) The "front staff" were the most attentive of the past seven charters we have had: welcoming, extremely pleasant, highly professional, attentive and yet not intrusive. They maintained the cabins is perfect condition. As Ian says, they provided a 7-Star service. 5) Jonathan the chef was superb in his selection of food, the presentation, the quality, and taste. My clothes are a great testament to his abilities as after 5 days on the boat I already feel my clothes to be extremely snug!! 6) Paul, Andy, and David were also some of the nicest people we had met on any of the previous boats. They were very careful that we were safe at all times and enjoyed our activities in the sea. 7) The engineer was also great simply because we as guests did not experience any problems with the boat or the equipment. Overall, I think we should give it a 98 out of 100 score (98 because only God is perfect!) Thanks very much for recommending this yacht. - Chartered in Amalfi, italy in the Western Mediterranean.

The Mediterranean is calling, and to help you have the best yacht charter vacation this summer, we've rounded up all the insider secrets, stand-out itineraries and hand-picked recommendations across all the most popular charter destinations for 2024.

From the golden beaches of the Balearics to the glamorous shores of Italy , the Mediterranean is home to a treasure trove of popular superyacht spots. If you're looking to book a yacht charter vacation in the Mediterranean for 2024,  it can be daunting to know where to begin.

But with the help of brokers and yachting experts, we've put together our ultimate edit of the top destinations to visit by superyacht in the Mediterranean . Packed with tips and first-hand recommendations, our guide will give you the complete low-down to ensure you get the most from your vacation.

Best time to visit: June-September

The hedonistic hotspot of Ibiza has had a shakeup in the last few years. Sure, you can still go for the epic nightlife and parties, but dedicate a few days of your superyacht vacation to exploring the burgeoning health and wellness scene that’s sweeping the White Isle.

yachts for charter in the mediterranean

Drop anchor at Playa d’en Bossa, then head to Beachouse for a sunrise yoga session on the sand. Lunch calls for a trip to ROTO in the marina, offering stunning views of the motor yachts in the harbour, and out over the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dalt Vila.

Dedicate a few days of your Ibiza superyacht vacation to exploring the burgeoning health and wellness scene

Spend the afternoon cruising around the rocky island outcrop of Es Vedra to experience its magnetic lure, then round off the day at Blue Marlin for a dose of Balearic beats. And of course, you’d be remiss not to add Beso Beach to your itinerary; this beach bar-restaurant is an Ibizan staple that sits just a stone’s throw from Ses Illetes in Formentera. Expect nothing but good vibes and cool crowds.

Our Favourite Ibiza Itineraries:

Don’t miss: The Mojito Man, who can be summoned to your anchored yacht via a quick Instagram message armed with ingredients to make you a mojito on deck. Clientele includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Leonardo DiCaprio and Wayne Rooney. If it’s good enough for them…

The white island of wellness: Why Ibiza is the new yacht charter destination for a wellbeing retreat

The French Riviera has no shortage of trendy outposts, but  St Tropez  glitters with particular cosmopolitan brilliance.

After a morning exploring its pink streets, cruise over to Pampelonne in time for lunch. Be sure to book ahead for Club 55 , the most iconic venue in the Cote d’Azur, and try and reserve a coveted table in the later lunchtime slot if you’re looking to rub shoulders with Hollywood heavyweights and the A-list elite.

For some post-lunch entertainment, head to Verde Beach . Expect blast-from-the-past beats and dancing on the tables, as the St Tropez in-crowd transform Verde Beach into the most happening party in Pampelonne. Head back to the main port for dinner- L’Opera has got the ‘the dinner and a show’ concept down to an art.

Our Favourite St Tropez Itineraries:

Don’t miss: The Sunday morning market in Place des Lices . As well as fresh Provencal produce ranging from fruits and vegetables to meats and cheeses, you can also find antiques and vintage fashion pieces. Have a cafe creme in the square after the stalls are packed up, and watch the locals enjoy a game of boules.

The Amalfi Coast

Synonymous with romance, culture and rustic charm, the Amalfi Coast is one of the darlings of the Mediterranean. This region is worth a visit for those in search of timeless beauty, proper Italian dining and UNESCO-listed heritage.

Evening aperitifs are best enjoyed at Le Sirenuse

Begin on the south side of the coast with a trip inland to Ravello, a medieval village that sits at dizzying heights above the sea- take a walk around the gardens of Villa Rufolo , then enjoy a meal at Palazzo Avino overlooking the mountains and the sea.

Evening aperitifs are best enjoyed at Le Sirenuse , a chic hotel in Positano decked out in colourful majolica tiles with a terrace that offers unbeatable views over the town. Then, be sure to head down to the commune of Nerano to dine at one of two celebrity-approved restaurants; Lo Scoglio da Tommaso and La Conca del Sogno .

Our Favourite Amalfi Itineraries:

Don’t miss: A cruise to Capri. This little island is steeped in beauty and history, with plenty of villas which you can visit and natural attractions such as the Blue Grotto and La Faraglioni .

The culture of Capri: the must-see attractions on a private yacht charter

The Cyclades, Greece

Best time to visit: june-october.

Scattered across the Mediterranean, the islands of Greece are ideal for exploring by boat. Set course for the Cyclades, where gems like Santorini and Mykonos are as alluring as ever.

If you’ve only got one day to spend in Santorini, we recommend a trip to Akrotiri for a look at an ancient Greek settlement, and Santo Wines , for a taste of the region’s finest vino overlooking the famous caldera.

Mykonos is set to be equally popular this summer, with the beach clubs buzzing and the picturesque bays studded with shiny superyachts. Head to Nammos for beachside dining, luxury shopping and partying among celebrities. If you're looking to spend a day on shore, Cavo Tagoo is the place to be: caves carved into the chalky cliffs create a remarkably pretty setting.

Afterward, you should head over to Delos to take in the sights of these wondrous archeological ruins, which date back to 300 BC. Rich in mythological significance, this UNESCO-listed island offers a fascinating insight into the country's history and culture.

Our Favourite Greek Itineraries:

Don't miss:  A trip to the island of Milos, just 85 nautical miles outside of Santorini. An up-and-coming hotspot, visitors have gone wild for the island's flourishing food scene, volcanic beach and clear blue sea.

How to spend 24 hours in Santorini on a Greece yacht charter

Best time to visit: May-September

You’d be forgiven for mistaking Sardinia ’s sugar sand and pellucid blue sea for a slice of Caribbean paradise. Set adrift from the Italian mainland, this island has it all; come for the luxury retail, stay for the swimming, snorkelling and beachside bliss.

The eastern coast is where you'll find most of the island's famous beaches

Visiting superyachts make a beeline for Hotel Cala di Volpe , a celebrity-approved hotel on the waterfront with private moorings available for the ultimate convenience. Enjoy a relaxed lunch on the terrace or an evening meal alfresco; the service is slick, the staff are friendly, and if you choose to spend a night on shore they’ll be more than happy to accommodate you.

Down the eastern coast of the island is where you'll find most of the island's famed beaches. Consistently voted among the best in Europe, they're all simple and straightforward to access from your yacht, and promise a relaxing day of swimming and soaking up the sunshine. Sitting on the eastern tip of Croatia's coast, Dubrovnik is ideal for those looking to take some time out to recharge and enjoy the delights of discovering a new city. Bordered by sparkling Adriatic water, Dubrovnik is known for its Gothic architecture, dramatic terrain and buildings capped by baked clay-red rooves.

The pace of life is slower in the city, so be sure to take some time to walk the stone streets and soak up the charms of Croatia . Trees grow everywhere, infusing the air with the scent of sweet figs and bitter oranges, for which Dubrovnik is renowned.

If you're visiting during summer, you'd be remiss not to check out the Dubrovnik Summer Festival . This celebration of classical musical sees the city come to life with music and art, with plenty of concerts and recitals on the schedule.

Turkey's Turquoise Riviera has long been popular among private yachts, but recently we've seen an upswing in the demand for yacht charters in the region as well. Fethiye is one of the most popular spots to charter , as it provides access to tiny islands too small to name, sky-blue lagoons and secret coves where you drop anchor and swim straight up to the shore for lunch.

Speaking of food, you should pay a visit to Lebessos Winehouse during your trip. Housed in a 400-year old stone cottage in the town of Kayakoy (which has been deserted since 1923) this restaurant is the gourmet dining leader of Fethiye. The venue earns extra points for its taxi service, saving you the hassle of booking a transfer.

The service is friendly and accommodating and the local cuisine is authentic and perfectly-prepared- opt for tender lamb kleftiko, levissi chicken with chilli yogurt or honey-drenched figs. Plus, the restaurant has its own wine cellar where you can sample the local wines of Turkey.

Our Favourite Fethiye Itineraries:

Don't miss:  The Blue Lagoon of Oludeniz , where you can relax in the sand or spend some time playing with water toys.

5 New Options for Mediterranean Yacht Charter

  • By Yachting Staff
  • July 25, 2024

213-foot Benetti Zazou

Five notable yachts just became available for charter in the West Mediterranean, with plenty of time left to book itineraries before the current season is over.

First up is Zazou , a 213-foot Benetti that launched in 2021. It’s new to the charter fleet at Y.CO, with plans to base in the South of France and Corsica. This is the first time that Zazou is being opened for charters, with availability beginning mid-August.

“Ideal for families, she is elegant and sophisticated thanks to her stunning interior,” Sioned Williams of Y.CO Charter Management stated in a press release. Notable features include a gymnasium, treatment room, outdoor cinema and beach club. Accommodations are for 10 guests in five staterooms.

2024 B.Now 50m Oasis

Y.CO also just welcomed the new-for-2024 Benetti Dyna to the charter fleet in the Mediterranean. Dates are available in September and October.

Accommodations aboard Dyna are for 12 guests in six staterooms. Amenities include a main-deck pool, a cinema, a spa and a master stateroom with a private balcony.

“ Dyna is a particularly fine example of the B.Now 50m Oasis model,” Yasmine Naitijja of Y.CO Charter Management stated in a press release. “No expense has been spared in the finishes throughout. The spa area is a real onboard highlight, as is the large main-deck pool, while the stylish Novamarine Black Shiver chase boat offers enhanced exploration.”

Azimut Magellano 30

Also now available in the West Mediterranean is Alma III , a 97-foot Azimut that was just delivered to the owners from the shipyard in June. It’s part of the Fraser charter fleet and will have availability in August from Sardinia.

According to the Fraser team, Alma III is the only Azimut Magellano 30 currently on the charter market. Exterior design is by Ken Freivokh, and accommodations are for 10 guests in five staterooms. The master is full beam on the main deck.

82-foot Maiora El Pecado

In the IYC charter fleet in Greece, guests can book the 82-foot Maiora El Pecado , which became available earlier this summer. The yacht is a 2014 build that IYC’s team says is in “impeccable condition” with accommodations for as many as nine guests in four staterooms.

Notable features and equipment on El Pecado include low fuel consumption and at-anchor stabilizers for guest comfort.

107-foot Custom Line

Also in Greece with IYC is the 107-foot Custom Line My Mistake , a 2023 build that accommodates 10 guests in five staterooms. The IYC team notes that this yacht has a child-friendly setup, meaning it is a good choice for bookings with families.

Top speed aboard My Mistake is reportedly 26 knots, which should make short work of cruising between the Greek Isles while leaving more time for fun at anchor and in harbors.

When does the Mediterranean yacht-charter season end? The high season is over at the end of August, but with nice weather, the cruising in some parts of the region can be terrific well into October.

Mediterranean Yacht Charters: The Full Price List

yachts for charter in the mediterranean

A yacht charter in the Mediterranean is a great way to delve into the wonders of this breathtaking region, where endless summer sunsets await and a rich tapestry of culture beckons at every turn.

Knowing the true price of a yacht charter in the Mediterranean isn’t always as simple as it should be. The region is made out of different countries with different rules, VAT and costs of living, and the same yacht can be chartered at a very different price depending on several variables that you should be aware of.

Here is a breakdown of the prices to expect if you want to rent a boat in the Mediterranean, along with some insider tips from us if you want to sail in the region “on a budget”.

What are the factors that influence the price of a yacht charter in the Mediterranean?

It’s important to know the different factors that can influence the price of a yacht charter in the Mediterranean region. With all the variables clearly laid out, you will be able to make more informed decisions and play with one variable over the other to adjust your yacht charter to your budget .

The type of yacht you want to charter in the Mediterranean: a yacht is a broad word covering a wide range of budgets

The yacht you are going to charter is the variable that will likely influence the most the total cost of your yacht charter.

The Mediterranean region has a very broad selection of yacht available for rental, and the price range is simply huge: from 700€ a week for the cheapest bareboat rentals up to more than 1,000,000€ a week for the biggest superyachts.

In most cases in the Mediterranean, the bigger the yacht, the higher the price . Longer yachts have more crew to operate them, use more fuel and are generally more high maintenance than the smaller ones. The APA of a yacht rental is directly proportional to its base-fee, so be prepared to have a higher APA with a bigger yacht.

The demand for specific yachts can also significantly increase the price of the yacht. This is especially true for bigger / historical yachts that have their followers, and less the case for bareboat rentals.

The destination (and country) of your Mediterranean yacht charter: a big influence on the final price

Where you are going to sail your yacht has a big influence on the total cost of your charter. It would be a mistake to think of the Mediterranean region as a place where prices are more or less unified.

There are big price differences between Mediterranean countries due to various reasons:

  • Regulations (VAT, taxes…) that influence transactions in general or sailing in particular
  • Labour costs : minimum salary can be multiplied by 5 depending on your country around the Mediterranean belt
  • Demand : some destinations are in very high demand with very limited offer, some don’t have this issue
  • Exclusivity : some parts of the Mediterranean are more luxurious, more private and more “selective” than others, which makes the prices go up

So, even if you spend most of your time onboard your chartered yacht, the rental price of the same boat in different countries can vary quite significantly as moorings, taxes, staff and on-land activities in general won’t necessarily cost the same.

How luxurious you want your yacht charter to be: an important variable for the final price

The base fee of a yacht charter usually only covers the cost of chartering the yacht itself. You need to add the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) on top of it to cover the variable costs.

The APA is directly proportional to your yacht (so usually the bigger the yacht the higher the APA), but also to how luxurious you want your charter to be.

If you want to eat luxurious food and high-end alcohol during your yacht rental, expect to pay a little more than if you go for simplicity.

To know more about the price of chartering luxury yachts, we highly recommend you to read “ How much does it cost to rent a yacht? “, or to use our calculator below to get a free estimate based on a yacht you’ve seen and/or your budget.

The season: the price of yacht rentals aren’t stable throughout the year in the Mediterranean

The Mediterranean is a very seasonal region , and the yacht rental market isn’t an exception.

The Summer season is by far the most popular time to discover the Mediterranean area. In consequence, people come from all over the world to travel to the France Riviera, Italy, Greece or the Balearics during that time of the year. Most prices are at their highest during Summer: hotels, plane tickets, but also yacht rentals.

The shoulder season , which is from April to June and September to October, is also a popular choice. The weather is usually pleasant, the crowds on the lower end, and prices are more budget-friendly. A good “budget vs weather” compromise.

Winter in Europe is by far the lowest season in the Mediterranean, and the best one to enjoy the biggest deals if you are not hunting for the hottest temperatures and sunniest weather.

The below example with Greece is a great illustration of weather, season and hence price variability of yachts charters in the Mediterranean.

Meteo in Greece during the year

How late (or early) you are when you are booking your yacht: something you shouldn’t sleep on in the Mediterranean

The Mediterranean region has the same issue as most yachting hotspots in the world: the boats available for rental are in limited numbers . On top of it, as we previously mentioned, the season is much shorter in the Mediterranean than in other regions such as the Caribbean.

It can therefore be wise to book a lot in advance of a yacht charter in high season if she is usually in demand, as the chances of her being booked at your dates are high.

On the other hand, last minute bookings are also a way to enjoy good deals with the boats that haven’t been booked or that got cancelled. You sacrifice being picky on the boat you rent and on planning in advance your trip, but you might save up a little in return.

What is the minimum price to rent a yacht in the Mediterranean region (yacht base-fee only)?

Now that we have the variables out of the way, here are some of the minimum prices you can expect for yacht charters in the Mediterranean region. The prices below do not include expenses and APA.

1,200€ / week : the minimum price for bareboat yacht rentals in Mediterranean

Bareboat charter

If you have the qualifications to sail a boat yourself without a skipper, you can start renting a yacht from 1200€ / week in the Mediterranean region.

At this price, you usually have a simple sailboat for up to 6 passengers, and you are more likely to be in the Eastern regions of the Mediterranean, such as Croatia or Turkey, although you can still find great deals at very similar costs in more expensive countries such as France.

2,500€ / week: the minimum price to rent a yacht with a skipper in the Mediterranean region

If you need an experienced skipper to safely sail your yacht during your charter, the minimum price is around the 2,500€ / week throughout the Mediterranean region.

The price of the skipper can vary significantly depending on the country and the season you are sailing. Some Mediterranean countries may have cheapear labour costs than others, but the demand can influence the price both up and down.

8,000€ / week: the starting price for fully crewed yachts in the Mediterranean

For a luxury yacht with a full crew in the Mediterranean region, the low end price is around the 8,000€ mark per week for sailing yacht and sailing catamarans.

Above 15,000€ / week , you start to be in luxury yacht charters territory, with longer yachts and/or more staff to add luxury to your experience.

The cost to charter superyachts in the Mediterranean starts at around 50,000€ / week with no upper limit.

Our tips to decrease the total cost of your yacht charter in the Mediterranean

There are several ways to decrease the total cost of your yacht charter in the Mediterranean region. Here are some tips.

Pick a Mediterranean country where the cost of living is on the lower end

The cost of living can influence the total budget of your sailing holidays. It can therefore be smarter to pick one of the cheap Mediterranean countries for your yacht charter, especially if you plan on spending a lot of time on-land, which can increase your mooring fees and activities prices.

Most affordable regions in the Mediterranean for yacht rental

Here is a list of regions where the cost of living is lower and/or that are less popular than most famous Mediterranean yachting hotspots:

  • Most of Turkey
  • Most of Croatia
  • Greece (especially outside the main touristic islands)

yachts for charter in the mediterranean

Expensive regions in the Mediterranean that you might want to avoid if you are on a budget

The following regions in the Mediterranean tend to be the most expensive, which can get even worse in the highest season:

  • Cannes, Nice, St Tropez and other famous cities of the French Riviera
  • Barcelona and Marbella in Spain
  • Ibiza and the rest of the Balearics (Spain)
  • Venice in Italy

Charter a yacht in the Mediterranean during the shoulder season to get great deals

A great way to save money but still enjoy the wonders of the Mediterranean region is to rent a yacht during the shoulder season.

The further you are from the main summer months (July-August) and the likelier you are to find big discounts. Keep an eye on our exlusive offers if you are looking for a good deal.

Many yachts are simply never rented out during winter and the months around it, and so their owners are willing to discount their prices drastically for the adventurous sailor.

The shoulder season in the Mediterranean, especially May-June and September-October, is a time where the weather is still very nice, most tourists are gone and the price much more affordable. You do need to sacrifice a bit of heat and sun, but the gamble usually pays off!

A big yacht isn’t always better than a small yacht

If you want to charter a yacht on a budget, do not feel shy to go towards smaller yachts.

Bigger yachts aren’t always the answer to everything. Sure, they are usually more comfortable and more luxurious than the smaller ones, but that doesn’t mean you should sleep on shorter boats.

The sailing feelings can be very thrilling and sometimes even more intense on a smaller yacht than on bigger ones. A small group of friends or family members and an experienced skipper is usually more than enough to be a guarantee to have the time of your life during a yacht charter around the Mediterranean.

yachts for charter in the mediterranean

There is no “one size fits all” budget when it comes to yacht charters prices in the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean is a huge sailing playground covering several countries with different regulations and levels of popularity and exclusivity.

One sure is certain though, the Mediterranean doesn’t have any shortage in terms of areas that can be explored on a yacht! With all the kind of yachts available for rental in the region, you are sure to find one that suits your need and your budget.

Below Deck Med's Capt. Sandy Confronts Rude Guests—and One Walks Away

Originally appeared on E! Online

These demanding Below Deck Mediterranean guests definitely know how to rock the boat.

A disrespectful new group of vacationers made waves with the crew during the Bravo series' Aug. 12 episode.

From complaining about walking up and down stairs to arguing with the staff about cutlery and even asking the interior crew to rearrange the "eye sore" furniture, the rude travelers—led by head charter guest Mahisha —left a bad taste in everyone's mouths. In fact, their behavior went so far, Captain Sandy Yawn was forced to step in a give the group a talking to about their demeaning attitudes.

"I always say this: If you beat character down, you're gonna kill their spirit," Sandy told the guests. "But if you're gracious and you're thankful, you're gonna build them up and they're gonna wanna do more for you."

"I had a client who spent a million euros on a charter, they were so rude to my crew," the Captain continued. "I pulled the primary in and I said, 'I'll cancel your charter tomorrow if you treat my staff like that again.' They turned it around like that, because I called the owner and he goes, 'I don't need to money. End the charter.'"

The reprimanding caused one of the guests, Neysla , to walk away and say under her breath, "I'm, like, over this conversation."

However, Sandy noted how amazing her season nine crew is, adding, "I'm happy to have them."

In a confessional, the Captain explained why she felt the need to intervene after receiving complaints from her crew, namely beloved Chief Stew Aesha Scott .

"How you treat others is really important," she noted. "From what Aesha and the other crew are saying to me, these clients are difficult. Did I get my point across?"

And Sandy's words worked like a charm. Later that day, Aesha even admitted how shocked she was by how polite the group had become.

"All of a sudden, the guests seem to have this base level of decency," the Chief Stew recounted in a confessional. "Maybe they reflected and realized how horrible they were and this is their way of saying their sorry."

And when the charter was over, Mahisha gave the crew a glowing evaluation.

"Thank you guys so much, this was amazing," she said as her party disembarked. "I don't think we had any issues, did we?"

Aesha's reaction? "Were we on the same charter?!" she hilariously remarked in a confessional. "I mean, I'll take it for sure, but this is so confusing."

Keep reading to look back at some more of the wildest guests in Below Deck history. Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

Superyachts Close Mediterranean Beaches After Their Dumped Waste Washes Ashore

A multi-million-dollar superyacht has been caught dumping waste off the coast of france, prompting a local mayor to call for a ban on massive yachts.

A photo of superyachts anchored in the Med.

Superyachts are causing a real ruckus in the Mediterranean these days. After a yacht commissioned by Apple founder Steve Jobs crashed into another ship last week, a town on the Mediterranean coast has now had to shut beaches as waste from multi-million-dollar yachts washes up on shore.

Suggested Reading

Waste dumped from a $250 million yacht anchored off the coast of France forced the closure of beaches to protect the welfare of residents, reports local news outlet ActuNice . Authorities in Nice shut certain coastal resorts on August 11 as waste including oil slicks washed up on shore. The pollution came from the multi-million-dollar CC Summer superyacht, which was anchored off the French coast earlier in August.

Related Content

The yacht, which was previously known as Madsummer, is thought to have dumped waste into the Mediterranean sea on August 11. When the waste began washing up on shore, local authorities closed beaches and had to call for support from the fire services to clear up oil slicks left by the superyacht .

A second yacht, which has not been identified just yet, has been blamed for another closure of beaches along the Nice coast on August 2. Now, the town’s mayor has had it with billionaires leaving the planet in a mess for the rest of us to clean up and is calling for a ban on massive yachts mooring off the coast, according to a report from AutoEvolution :

In a recent announcement posted to social media, the city announces that a legal complaint has been filed with the competent authorities. The hope is that there will be some way to block this from ever happening again, Alain Lucas, the Mayor’s chief of staff, says for a local publication. The beaches are public and open to anyone, whether local or a tourist, and this could help keep them that way. “Enough is enough, we have to react,” Lucas says. He adds that firefighters also sounded the alarm on the presence of the oil slick near the coast.

The environmental impact of sea travel has been in the news a lot in recent years. Gargantuan cruise ships are an easy target for environmental campaigners as millions of tons of gray water are pumped into our oceans by cruise liners every year.

Smaller private yachts are much harder to monitor , however. Because of this, campaigners have argued that superyachts mean “rich are being held by different standards than the rest of the world,” reports AutoEvolution.

Inside jeff bezos and lauren sanchez’s hot yacht summer with kim kardashian, leo & more.

Lauren Sanchez rocks a tiny gold bikini as she and billionaire fiance Jeff Bezos ride jet skis on the Aegean Sea in Greece.

If Jeff Bezos’ and Lauren Sánchez’ hot yacht summer were a movie, it would be a mashup of “Three Coins in the Fountain,” “Eat Pray Love” and “The Perfect Storm” — and the season’s not over yet.

The 60-year-old billionaire and his fiancée, 54, are sailing the Mediterranean again this summer on Bezos’ $485 million yacht Koru , which features a sultry figurehead on the prow that looks an awful lot like Sánchez.

They’ve cruised to Greece, Italy and Spain, with a pit stop Wednesday on the secluded island of Menorca in the Balearics, where they took refuge — along with some other expensive yachts — from a low-pressure storm called Dana.

Bezos and Sánchez have been accompanied on the 417-ft Koru by their support yacht, Abeona , which holds their water toys and a fleet of A-list guests who have included Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio and his 25-year-old Italian supermodel girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, and others.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez laughing with Leonardo DiCaprio, Vittoria Ceretti, Orlando Bloom, and Katy Perry after lunch at Nikki Beach

“They’re the flavor of the month in the Med,” said a longtime entertainment exec just back from a month in the South of France.

“For a while it was the Russians, and way back in the day it was Ari [Onassis] and Maria [Callas] on the [yacht] Christina. But the Russians like Roman Abramovich are pretty much gone now. There’s always a new wave,” the exec said. “[Sánchez] seems tacky but I’ve heard she’s very nice and Bezos adores her. Is she ever going to look like Babe Paley? Not in this lifetime.”

The exec also pointed out that the Koru is more than 100 feet longer than Barry Diller’s yacht, which measures just over 300 feet — but not as big as David Geffen’s 453-foot vessel — saying billionaires often have “aquatic penis envy.”

The world’s second-richest couple channeled their inner Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck in Rome on Tuesday when they shared a passionate kiss in front of the famed Trevi Fountain, seemingly oblivious to the hordes of tourists.

Bezos, in a fitted golf shirt, navy pants and boating shoes, and Sánchez, in a red halter minidress and peep-toe heels, also joined the crowd in the time-honored tradition of tossing money into the fountain with their right hands.

Oh, to know what they wished for.

Later they held hands and walked down cobblestone streets to their dinner destination, Pierluigi, where photographers snapped them dining on white wine, salad and bread at a table containing a singular red rose.

The couple took a bit of a solemn detour on land on Thursday when they swung by the Vatican for a visit with 87-year-old Pope Francis.

“He reminded us not to take life too seriously, a simple yet powerful reminder to keep lightness in our hearts,” Sanchez wrote on social media.

Bezos and Sánchez began their summer in June island-hopping in Greece with a rare appearance by Bezos’ 19-year-old son Preston, who Bezos shares with his ex-wife Mackenzie Scott.

Kim Kardashian then joined them, zipping around the Med on jetskis . At one point Kardashian and an unidentified blonde rode her jetski as they took selfies.

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum has been tight with Sánchez and Bezos for a couple of years,  going on a double date  in 2022 and  attending a Beyoncé concert  in 2023.

In September 2023, the trio  had dinner together in New York City , joined by Nicky Hilton.

The “Kardashians” star made it clear that Sánchez is  part of her inner circle  when she celebrated her birthday in a Season 5 episode.

Meanwhile, Bezos and Sánchez were also spotted on their own in Greece on the island of Hydra, walking hand-in-hand on the seafront. They popped up next on Mykonos and from there it was on to Pserimos, famed for its beaches.

July saw them jet to Sun Valley, Idaho, for the town’s namesake financial conference attended by billionaires.

Jeff Bezos' ultra-luxe sailing yacht, The Koru, with multiple masts, measuring 417 feet and costing $475 million

Last weekend, the pair pulled up on the island of Sardinia with Perry, Bloom, DiCaprio and Ceretti. The celebs came to shore on one of Bezos’ smaller boats for lunch at a high-end beach resort before heading back to Koru.

Bloom and Perry — who started  their own month-long vacation in France  — also vacationed with Bezos and Sánchez  around this time last year. In August 2023, the foursome was spotted walking around Dubrovnik, Croatia, with Usher.

DiCaprio and Bezos have  been “really close friends” for years,  with a source previously telling Page Six they often vacation together and find “common ground in the  fight against climate change  and their work in environmental activism.”

Koru ranks as the planet’s thirty-second largest yacht and costs about $25 million to operate annually. The vessel can accommodate 18 guests and requires a crew of 40 sailors to manage its amenities.

Its three huge, 229-foot masts power it to 20 knots. It’s also the biggest billionaire’s yacht which can move under sail power alone.

Bezos and Sánchez recently relocated from Seattle to Indian Creek Island in Miami, where Bezos bought three mansions for about $237 million — surely a nice home if you’ve got to be on land.

America's Cup Match Racing

Next week, when the 37 th Louis Vuitton America’s Cup kicks off in Barcelona with its opening ceremony, the contest that began in 1851 with a race around the Isle of Wight between the fastest British and American sloops (the yacht America won handily) will come back to Europe for the first time in 14 years.

The move to the Catalan capital from the 2021 event in New Zealand will make it more accessible to sailing fans in Europe, and even North Americans who want to view the fast, technical AC75 foiling boats in person. Barcelona has been preparing itself for a surge of spectators for the “return” of the Cup, which was held twice in Valencia, Spain, in the aughts.

The America’s Cup may be billed as “the race with no second place,” but it takes three months of racing and four events for one of five Challenger teams to win the Louis Vuitton Cup, and that winner will race Defender Emirates Team New Zealand in the America’s Cup final. The racing runs from August through October, and this year includes a first-time all-women’s America’s Cup as well as an event for the world’s best youth sailors.

Having Barcelona as a venue was a smart move, partly for the gorgeous beaches fronting the race course on the Med. But there is also the city’s magnificent architecture and sense of history as well as vibrant arts, culture and, of course, no shortage of Michelin-starred restaurants.

There are many five-star hotels in the area, but the smartest and most thrilling way to see racing is by water. The vessel options are wide-ranging—from weeklong superyacht charters to luxury suites on a cruise ships to day trips on sailboats with Michelin-starred cuisine. Many can be combined with on-land stays and even cruises to other parts of Spain as part of the itineraries.

One important note: Four zones adjoining the race course allow spectator boats. Before chartering a vessel, be sure to find out which zone the boat will operate in, because that impacts how close you are to the racing.

Here are 9 options to suit the most avid Cup aficionados or those visiting Barcelona who want to sip champagne and watch the AC75 foiling boats battle it out.

Superyacht ‘Resilience’

Edmiston is offering charters aboard the 212-foot Resilience during the America’s Cup. The ISA-built superyacht, designed by Enrico Gobbi, features a mosaic-tiled pool, circular fire pit and a BBQ for a ringside lunch. Post-race pampering comes via the steam room, sundeck jacuzzi and gym, and there’s even a self-playing Edelweiss piano and projector for evening entertainment. The vessel sleeps 12 across seven cabins. From September 16, weekly charters start at about $645,000 (€600,000).

Explora Journeys

The soon-to-be-launched Explora II looks very much like its sistership, the Explora I : onyx finishes, self-playing Steinways, on-deck Technogym bikes, a spa with a Himalayan salt room, Dunhill cigar den and a wine cellar boasting decades-old Chateau Latour. With 461 luxury suites, how was the Explora II chosen to become an America’s Cup viewing platform? The idea came from the top down.

“I love sailing and believe the Med is the most beautiful sea on earth,” Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman of the cruise division of MSC Group, told Robb Report during a visit aboard Explora I in Barcelona. “We thought if only our customers could also experience [the America’s Cup], we can call it the ocean state of mind.”

Explora II launches in mid-September, with itineraries planned to coincide with the different Cup events. On October 6, the vessel will be in port for the Louis Vuitton Cup Final and Puig Women’s Races. Guests can take a walk to the official race village and experience its excitement before watching the races from their suites. A 10-night journey starts from $5,210 per guest.

The Almanac Sailing Experience

yachts for charter in the mediterranean

Barcelona’s Almanac hotel has a romantic-gastronomic experience that offers guests front-row seats on a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45 sailboat with a capacity for 10 guests. Besides the racing, the package includes two nights at the hotel. The boat comes with the hotel’s branded slippers and Jimmy Boyd bespoke amenities. Enjoy a selection of customized Cava Bellinis from the pop-up bar. Chefs from the hotels’ restaurant will also serve up shrimp salad and fennel ceviche paired with organic Spanish wines. The boat can be chartered every Saturday from August 31 to October 26. The Louis Vuitton Cup round-robin starts on August 29 and lasts through Sept. 8. There’s also the Puig Women’s Race (first all-female America’s Cup in its 171-year history) and, of course, the America’s Cup finals in October. Prices start at $2,940 per couple.

Superyacht ‘C’

yachts for charter in the mediterranean

For a majestic week-long cruise that incorporates America’s Cup summer races and possible side itineraries in Costa Dorada, Sitges and Formentera, Camper & Nicholsons’ expansive 177-ft C is the flashy option, defined by Minotti furniture, lacquered panels and a hamman. It also sleeps 12 in six cabins that feature a master and two VIP suites. Its chase boat also offers a great opportunity for side trips. Weekly charters from Sept. 18-October 31 run from about $513,000 or €400,000.

Sailing Yacht ‘Imagine’

yachts for charter in the mediterranean

UK adventure specialists Pelorus offer a private seat on an elegant sailing boat seeped in America’s Cup history. Built in New Zealand by Alloy Yachts, Imagine is a 110-footer that served as an official viewing platform for the America’s Cup in Auckland, but it has also completed three global circumnavigations. Beyond its sailing chops, it’s a beautiful vessel, with a blonde, teak-lined deck, large salon and dining area, and three cabins for sleeping seven guests. It will be available from October 12 for the America’s Cup final. Pelorus is also offering to bookend the week with trips to Majorca and Ibiza. About $101,000 (£79,121)

Superyacht ‘Diane’

yachts for charter in the mediterranean

Also available from Edmiston, the 141-ft Diane can accommodate 10 guests in five staterooms for the week. The interior is all about soft hues, featuring cream leather and white marble, boasting a bar and plenty of outdoor seating for watching the races. For the non-race legs, guests can take to the water via the large beach club, complete with seabobs and wakeboards. It has a Balearics license, making a hop to Ibiza or Majorca a possibility. Weekly charter rates from September 23 run about $150,000 per week (€140,000)

Black Tomato Cup Package

yachts for charter in the mediterranean

Incorporating a city-stay, Black Tomato’s America’s Cup getaway includes a day’s private day charter to view the race, plus five nights at the Mandarin Oriental as well as visiting the regatta course and different bases of the America’s Cup teams for an insider’s look at the operations and technology. As a dayboat, its Bali Yacht Saxador 400 GTO can accommodate 11 guests. It sets sail from Port Olympic, giving guests a sweeping view of the city on one side and the regatta course on the other. The boat has access to the blue area (for preferred charter boats) on the front line. From $12,750 per person, based on two people.

Superyacht ‘Quasar’

yachts for charter in the mediterranean

Camper & Nicholsons recently introduced the 153-foot Quasar to the charter market and what a great way to end the Med season than by viewing the America’s Cup. It has six cabins (including two master suites) that can accommodate 12 guests, along excellent outdoor seating, an upper salon that joins the aft deck area for viewing the races or dining al-fresco. The beach club has a large selection of water toys. Visits to scenic Med ports around Barcelona are also possible on the week’s charter, which start at about $232,000 (€210,000).

Superyacht ‘Kiawah’

yachts for charter in the mediterranean

For front row seats on day charters in the blue zone (the third-closest area to the races), official charter partner ac37 Sailcharters offers different types of vessels and packages. The 110-foot Kiawah features a cocktail lunch on board, a specialized lecture from an expert sailor, and an AV system to follow the race in real time. From August 22 through October 11, daily rates are about $34,000 (€30,800) and during the America’s Cup finals October 12-27, rates move to about $41,000 (€37,400).

fire on atina heesen yacht

Watch: 47m Heesen superyacht Atina sinks following devastating fire in Olbia, Italy

The 47-metre Heesen yacht Atina has now sunk following a fire that broke out on board yesterday evening (10 August). The incident occurred while Atina was anchored in the Gulf of Olbia in Sardinia, Italy.

Dramatic new footage released by the Olbia Coast Guard shows the flames spread from the aft portion of the vessel until Atina is entirely engulfed. She then begins to list and sink.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Direzione Marittima Olbia (@guardiacostieraolbia)

The Olbia Fire Brigade had been working alongside the Olbia Coast Guard to tackle the blaze since 8pm local time. Sixteen people were on board but are now evacuated and confirmed "safe" by authorities. No injuries have been reported.

Anti-pollution pads have been placed on the scene and an area prohibition order has been issued. All operations were coordinated by the Maritime Directorate of Olbia.

Atina was delivered by the Dutch shipyard in 2008 and won a Neptune at the World Superyacht Awards the following year.

She has sailed under many names, including Elandess , Raasta and Naseem . The superyacht was most recently sold in 2021 at a last known asking price of €16,250,000. Atina then underwent an extensive, multi-month refit with Turkish shipyard FDC Yachts to optimise her for charter .

The most noteworthy change was the sundeck, which was redesigned with a larger pool set forward of the new navigation mast, a Teppanyaki grill and a large bar that could seat up to 12 guests for parties or sporting events.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

BOAT International will update the story as it develops.

The Big Picture

  • Aesha Scott brings a unique, quirky personality to the Chief Stew role on Below Deck spinoffs.
  • Aesha's ability to pivot and handle challenging situations sets her apart in the franchise.
  • Aesha's relationships with her captains and crew members showcase her leadership potential.

When viewers met Aesha Scott in Season 4 of Below Deck: Mediterranean , they instantly fell in love with her because she wasn't the typical stewardess looking for a hookup or trying too hard to impress their chief stew. Her personality makes her stand out since she is very quirky, and everyone can tell she doesn't care what people think of her. Her personality has caught the audience's attention, and she enjoys working in super yachts. She has taken her job seriously, so she continued to grow and became a Chief Stew for the Below Deck spinoffs. To be considered a great Chief Stew on Below Deck , the main personality seen previously by one of the franchise's original and best Chief Stew, Kate Chastain , was that she was strict and stood her ground when it came to her role on the boat.

In the past, it has been seen that sometimes the Chief Stews are overlooked by the deck team and the captains because they think the job is easy. Kate was one of the ones who showed how much work it is to not only be in charge of the boat and make sure the guests are taken care of and that her stewardesses are working hard. Ever since Kate left the franchise, there hasn't been anyone that could step up to the plate and become the face of the franchise in the stew department until Aesha walked in and changed how they are looked at.

Below Deck Mediterranean

In a luxury charter yacht traveling across the Mediterranean, crew members face both the challenges of managing upscale guest expectations and the complexities of their own interrelationships. Each episode highlights the high-octane world of yachting where exceptional service standards meet personal drama and adventure.

Aesha's Relationship with Her Captains Helps Her

Aesha's journey in the Below Deck universe started as a second stewardess, and she stated she wanted to continue growing and eventually become a Chief Stew. This dream became a reality when she was chosen as the Chief Stew for the Below Deck spinoff Below Deck: Down Under . During her run on the spinoff, she showcased her leadership and pivot skills, dealing with not only guests but also snobby chefs and a toxic turn with a lead deckhand. Her run as Chief Stew with Captain Jason Chambers also sparked an interest in her with the captains since Chief Stews needed to have a great relationship with them, and she showed she and Captain Jason were a great team together. Aesha has grown exponentially ever since her first time on the Med and has quickly shown she has what it takes to be the face of the franchise.

Aesha was introduced to viewers as the second stewardess on Below Deck: Mediterranean. Her spunky, no-filter personality attracted everyone's attention as she was not a typical stewardess who cared about looks and wanted perfection. During her time on the Med, she worked under Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier, who helped her during her first season and became her right-hand woman. Even though Hannah was let go from the series after Captain Sandy Yawn fired her, Hannah was someone who was able to mold Aesha into the Chief Stew she is now. They continue their friendship even though Aesha is still on the show . Aesha even mentioned in her first season how she felt Captain Sandy was not giving the interior crew the recognition they deserve, and this moment showed how much of a hard worker she is and how she wants to be noticed for her hard work. Despite not having Hannah anymore as her Chief Stew, another way Aesha has shown her growth is with her ability to pivot at any time since, for Season 5 of Below Deck: Mediterranean, she was asked to come in halfway through the season after Hannah's firing to step up to the plate as the second stew. It would have been too much work if it had been anyone else, but Aesha can step into a workplace and think on her feet. During her second run on the show, she proved to Captain Sandy her abilities in interiors and how much growth she had gone through, which helped her relationship with the Captain grow even more.

Jenn Tran’s ‘Bachelorette’ Episode 5 Taylor Swift Song Is the Most Accurate

Episode 5’s Swiftie anthem was a bit on the nose.

During her first run as Chief Stew on Below Deck , Aesha had a lot to prove since she was coming in as the first Chief Stew for the show's newest spinoff, and they had to make an impact. Bravo made a great decision by bringing her in to join Captain Jason Chambers because viewers have grown to love the friendship they developed while being on the show. This was the first time she would be in the cameras as the leader of the interior. It wasn't an easy run for Aesha since she had to deal with snobby Chef Ryan McKeown , who continuously made snarky remarks towards her, but she could stand her ground and not let him break her. The relationship between the Chef and the Chief Stew is always very complicated, and most of the time, the two do not get along. Still, Aesha's friendly personality makes it her job to make it through the season and not let the Chef break her down or her team.

While on Down Under , the moment that cemented Aesha as one of the best Chief Stews was when she had to help her stewardess Margot Sisson when the lead deckhand Luke Jones attempted to move on her while intoxicated . While Aesha did not see the moment, and luckily, the production crew stepped in before the moment could get any worse, she showed how much she cared for her stews by being there for Margot and ensuring she was okay after the incident. Aesha and Captain Jason have been praised for the moment and made the two fan favorites. Her relationship with Captain Jason grew even more, showing she has what it takes to be a Chief Stew.

Aesha Proves She Can Pivot At Any Moment

Seeing Aesha evolve throughout her Below Deck journey has been something viewers have enjoyed, and seeing her go back to where it all started and be Chief Stew has made many viewers proud of her. Seeing Aesha as the Chief Stew on Below Deck: Mediterranean truly shows her hard work and how much growth she has gone through. Her journey on the Med has not been easy since this season. She has had to deal with drama from her stews, Bri Muller and Ellie Dubaich since they are not getting along. Besides her stews not getting along, she has had to work twice as hard since they are all in a yacht that requires four stewardesses, and they have only three, making it more difficult to manage everything fairly. Any other Chief Stew would have had an issue with these problems, but Aesha has kept her composure since if she were to break down, then the whole team would go down with her, and it's important to attempt to keep the morale high when it comes to tricky situations like the ones she has had to go through.

Aesha is very sweet, but she takes her job very seriously , and if it gets messed up, she will not be scared to step in and make tricky decisions. Her third stew, Bri Muller, has been a tricky one for her since she doesn't have a lot of experience and, as someone with not a lot of experience, can slow down the flow of the work. As Chief Stew, Aesha has stepped up to help her evolve but has made many mistakes. She even told Bri that if she continued making mistakes, she wouldn't be afraid to fire her and be a stew down. This has shown that even with her sweet personality, Aesha understands she is working, and the most important thing is always to keep the guests happy and continue improving.

Aesha Scott has every quality to be the newest face of the franchise and, after going through many different Chief Stews, is the best replacement for Kate Chastain.
