Looks like Michael Jordan is also the GOAT of ringing in the new year.

Jordan kicked off 2019 by chilling on an $80 million yacht off the coast of St. Barths, according to TMZ .

And this boat, which is practically a mansion on water, has everything onboard. The 230-foot ship has eight cabins, a bar, dining room, full gym and deck Jacuzzi, according to TMZ. Oh, and of course, it has a basketball court, too.

TMZ reported that the yacht also has a state-of-the-art audiovisual system, satellite TV and fast Wi-Fi.

According to TMZ, it costs $840,000 per week to charter the yacht. While it’s unclear if Jordan is paying that, the Bulls legend could afford it. Jordan was ranked the fourth-wealthiest celebrity of 2018 by Forbes last month. He’s reportedly worth $1.7 billion.

Photos of Jordan on the super yacht were leaked two weeks after guard Dwayne Bacon tweeted a video of His Airness dancing to “Wobble Baby” by V.I.C., while smoking a cigar, at the Hornets’ annual holiday party.

Michael Jordan took his 80-foot, $8 million convertible Viking sportfishing yacht to Morehead City, North Carolina to take part in the Big Rock Fishing Tournament. This is the NBA legend's first time competing in the tournament, which is a non-profit event to raise money for local charities. 

The boat is named "Catch 23," a nod to his iconic number. 

Of course, No. 23 did not miss a detail on the boat, which has his Jordan Brand elephant print along the side and a panther on the stern. 

The graphics match his plane, because why have a yacht and a plane if you aren't going to make them coordinate, right?

On Monday, the second day of the tournament, local station WITN reported that the boat brought in a 442.3-pound marlin.

According to National Geographic , marlins average anywhere from 200 to 400 pounds, but can weigh over 1,985 pounds. If M.J. wants to reel in one of those, to quote Jaws, he's gonna need a bigger boat.

Jordan is used to being crowned champion, but right now a boat called 'The Predator' is in the lead with a 494-pound blue marlin.

Up for grabs is The Fabulous Fisherman prize and $552,500, which will go to the first boat to bring in a big blue that weighs over 500 pounds.

With a net worth of over $2 billion, Jordan doesn't exactly need the money, but I'm sure he'd love to add another title to his resume.

The fishing boat has many features including a hydraulic bow thruster, a centralized seawater system, dual freshwater pumps, Veem S-class propellers and manual back-up, according to  HaulOverinlet.com . It sleeps 10 guests and has a top speed of 48 mph.

This is not Jordan's only boat, his other vessel is an $80 million, 230-foot yacht that reportedly costs $840,000 a week to operate.

Jordan does a lot more with his money than purchase impressive boats, however. Just last week he committed to donating $100 million over ten years to help organizations that "ensure racial equality, social justice and greater access to education."

Michael Jordan Enters His $8 Million Yacht In $7.5 Million Prize Fishing Tournament

Whether on the basketball court or closing business deals, Michael Jordan has never shied away from competition. Now the retired NBA championship winner has entered one of his yachts to participate in a prestigious fishing tournament. 

Jordan’s yacht, known as Catch 23, has been entered into the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament. The event began on June 10, and wraps up on June 16 with an awards brunch. The tournament has operated for 64 years and is known as the “Super Bowl of Fishing.” To enter, registration fees range from $1,000 to $20,000. The grand prize for the event is $7.5 million. 

Jordan and Catch 23 participated in the 2020 tournament. Traveling to Morehead City, North Carolina, Jordan raised money for several local charities. Although Jordan is not participating in this year’s event, Catch 23 and Sea Jumper LLC are present. 

A Look At Catch 23 

In 2019 Jordan purchased a Bayliss fishing yacht. While the actual purchase price is unclear, reports reveal it is in the range of $8 to $15 million. He wrapped the sides of the boat with elephant print and named it Catch 23, an ode to his NBA number. 

The luxury motorboat was produced by Viking Yachts. The 80-foot boat includes a top speed of 40 knots with a range of more than 500 nautical miles. Accommodating up to eight guests and two crew members, the yacht features relaxing furniture, a high-end entertainment system and other luxury finishes. 

A Part of Jordan’s Fleet 

This is not the only boat owned by Jordan, who is worth a reported $3 billion. The retired NBA player and team owner has two other yachts as well. 

Jordan’s first yacht, Joy, is worth an estimated $80 million and can accommodate 12 passengers and a crew of 19. Jordan purchased the yacht in 2019. It includes five decks and an owner’s pavilion providing a 270-degree ocean view. There’s an expansive master suite and eight cabins that also overlook the ocean. There are also several spa rooms complete with an indoor jacuzzi and sauna for guests. Finally, a gym and indoor basketball court are on the yacht as well. 

Mr. Terrible is Jordan’s second yacht. Valued at $21 million, Mr. Terrible is 154 feet long. With an indoor bar along with indoor and outdoor dining options, the yacht’s purpose is to provide relaxation.
