Port Denarau Marina, Fiji

The Malolo Cat provides a high speed catamaran boat service between Port Denarau and the resorts on Malolo Lailai Island including Plantation Island Resor , Lomani Island Resort and Musket Cove.

The Malolo Cat departs Denarau Marina four times daily and takes approximately 50 minutes to reach the Plantation Island Jetty on Malolo Lailai.

Malolo Cat IV

Malolo Cat Transfers includes “FREE” booked scheduled coach transfers between Nadi Airport or most local hotels and Port Denarau. Malolo Cat coach only stops at hotels where coach transfer bookings have been confirmed. Make sure you select your pick up location. There is no refund if the guests miss the complimentary free pick up for any reason.

If you are arriving in Nadi alot earlier and would like to maximize your time at Port Denarau, a private transfer to Port Denarau can get you to the Marina within 25 minutes. Enjoy the shopping, stock up on supplies or simply relax in one of the many Cafes or Bars Denarau Marina has to offer.

Please Note: We are unable to book same day Malolo Cat transfers for flights scheduled to arrive in Nadi after 3.30pm (15:30).

Island Transfers

Located only 25km (16 miles) from Nadi International Airport, Malolo Island Resort can be reached by fast catamaran, private speedboat or seaplane.  We can also arrange Private Car Transfers to/from the airport and Marina.  Contact our Reservations Team for bookings and information.

South Sea Cruises Catamaran Transfers

Departing Denarau Marina three times daily at 9.00am and 12.15 (2 hrs via other islands), and 3.15pm (55 min direct to Malolo).  Transfers start at FJD$140pp each way for adults and FJD$70 for children 2-15yrs. From 1st April 2024 FJD$145 per adult and FJD$89 per child.

Private Speedboat/Water Taxi Transfers

Departing on demand at a time suitable to you for a private charter or alternatively, a shared transfer on a consolidated timetable, the water taxi companies of Sea Fiji and Mamanuca Express, offers a professional transfer service operating 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

Seafiji offers private one-way transfers from Port Denarau for between 1 to 4 people from F$1,103* (* Plus a FJD$55 per booking fuel surcharge) a scheduled “seat in boat” transfer that departs Denarau daily at 17:30 hrs for F$176* per passenger.  Mamanuca Express also offer one-way transfers from Port Denarau from FJD$985 for between 1 to 4 people.

Malolo Cat Fiji

Malolo Cat Ferry (Leeward Island Services) run three boats operating from Denarau Marina to Malolo Lailai Island four times a day. Every day the vessel departs at 7:30 am from Denarau Marina and returns back to the harbor at 4:50 pm. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes from Denarau Marina to Malolo Lailai jetty, servicing guests to Lomani, Musket Cove, and Planation Resort, as wel as daytrippers.

The company owns three boats ranging in seating capacity from 60 up to 160 passengers. The Malolo Cat ferry service is the perfect choice for those who are planning to visit Malolo Lailai. The Malolo Cat is a high speed catamaran boat service, transferring visitors from the mainland at Denarau Marina to Malolo Lailai ( Plantation Island ). If you are staying on Malolo Lailai on one of it's 3 resorts:

then the chances are, you are using the Malolo Cat to get there. Not a bad way to start your relaxing Fiji getaway by taking an island cruise!

Free Coach Transfers

The fares include FREE booked scheduled coach transfers between Denarau Marina and accommodation in the Nadi area! Presently, there are no coach transfers available from the Coral Coast.

Denarau Marina

Denarau Marina is located on Denarau Island . It's essentially connected to the mainland via a short bridge.

Denarau is a popular location for staying overnight prior to boarding. It has upmarket accommodation and is just 5 minutes to Denarau Marina.

If not staying on Denarau, you can get here earlier to check out Port Denarau with a variety of restaurants, cafes, and shopping. You can also stock up here for what you want to take to Malolo Lailai. Enjoy a refreshing cold drink as you take your time! 

Malolo Cat operates daily 4 times each way. That is:

• Denarau Marina to Malolo Lailai
• Malolo Lailai to Denarau Marina

Trips are around 50 minutes to 1 hour each way.

After cruising through the islands taking in the sights as we stop at other resorts to drop off/pick up passengers enroute, you will be welcomed ashore at Fiji’s best deluxe resort and are then free to enjoy all the facilities that Malolo has to offer. Activities The resort facilities include a beautiful pool, resort boutique, island massage, and a range of non-motorised water sports equipment (snorkelling gear is included). On the cruise there and back from Port Denarau, take in the sights of the other islands in the Mamanuca group.

Food and Drinks A delicious a la carte lunch at The Terraces restaurant is included with one drink per person (Malolo cocktail, local beer house wine, or soft drink). All other drinks can be purchased at the resort. If you require a vegetarian option, please specify in the ‘special requirements’ box when you go through the booking process.

Passengers travel from/to Port Denarau with the following schedule:

• Return pre-booked coach transfers to/from Port Denarau to/from most Nadi, Denarau, and Wailoaloa hotels/resorts. Check the coach timetable  here  for times
• Return vessel transfers from/to Port Denarau on our high-speed catamaran
• One course lunch at The Terraces Restaurant from the a la carte menu (kids menu available) plus one Malolo cocktail, local beer, or glass of house wine for adults and one non-alcoholic beverage per child
• Full use of Malolo Island Resort facilities and approximately 5 hours on the island
• Use of non-motorised water sports equipment, pools, and snorkelling gear

Trilogy operates 2 catamarans to Molokini: a 64′ Custom SeaRunner/Cutter Rigged Sailing Catamaran and a 55′ Searunner/Sloop Rigged Catamaran. Both vessels average around 20 or so fewer passengers each trip than they are licensed for. That means you have far more room to leisurely roam around these large vessels. Some of our personal favorite characteristics of the Trilogy trips include their legendary fresh-baked cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, and Kona coffee breakfast. They also have 2 snorkel sites, so you can always avoid the more crowded spots. Lahaina snorkeling tours are available if you want to check out other sites around Maui. Their lunch is great and the crew is a lot of fun! If you have a large group, book a private charter.

Malolo underwent a complete refit in 2022 with plans for a big sabbatical sailing adventure, and the owners sailed from Newport Rhode Island to Puerto Rico, through the Panama Canal, to Galapagos, Marquesas, Tuamotus, and most of French Polynesia. Reluctantly, it’s time to pass the torch, and Malolo is uniquely turnkey-ready to continue cruising the world!

MALOLO was purchased in “original” condition and sailed by the owner from the Caribbean to Newport RI for a comprehensive, high-end makeover – structural, functional, and aesthetic.
