An outdoor oasis combined with a refined interior. Succeeding the most popular powercat of all time, the Leopard 51 Powercat, this new yacht possesses all the attributes that made her predecessor successful, while reinventing what a powercat should be. Elegance and agility combine to create a flow of perfect harmony. Discover cruising pleasure, amplified.

Raising the bar. The Leopard 53 Powercat writes the standard for space and efficiency both inside and out, with a seamless flow from the interior to the exterior. This trait is the very essence of the Leopard line.

Crafted with the intention of luxury on the water, you will find serenity without compromising performance. With the stability you’d expect from a catamaran combined with the comfort of a motor yacht, we present an oasis at sea.

The evolution of the Leopard Powercat range presents innovative design elements. Possessing elegance and fine finishes that appeal to modern tastes, without compromising on space, manoeuvrability or fuel-efficiency.

Leopard 50 Sailing

29+ Years of Production Expertise

While the exterior of the yacht has been enhanced, Naval Architect for Simonis Voogd Design, Alexander Simonis, tells us this:

“This is a true power cat design, unlike its predecessors which were derivatives from the sailing versions in their respective sizes. This allowed us to design without the constraints imposed and improve the design further for the purpose of fuel efficient cruising.

Through optimisation of the hull shape and the superstructure design we achieved to get lower hydro and aero-dynamic drag coefficients, allowing us to create 30% more internal volume and better performance.”

The heart of the boat is the flybridge.

Outside, she optimizes all available exterior space with plenty of social zones. The heart of the boat is the flybridge. Accessed by a staircase, the flybridge is covered by a fixed, solid hardtop. The flybridge provides a well-thought-out helm station with great visibility. Spacious seating and a large table allow for a great place to entertain family and friends and enjoy a meal with spectacular views.

The optional wet bar, grill, refrigeration, and storage, as well as an aft-facing sun pad with cushions, enhance the space. The flybridge is the ideal spot to create magical moments on the water. Downstairs, the large aft cockpit features a table and walk-around cockpit seating with multiple seating configurations

Leopard 50 Interior

With cool tones and contemporary finishes, discover serenity when you step inside this newly designed layout. The perfect blend of calm sophistication, with the sea right before your eyes. Offered in a three or four-cabin layout, with the option for separate crew cabins. You can personalize the yacht’s interior to your individual style.

The three-cabin owner suite layout optimizes livability and freedom providing a fluid passage as you move throughout. The polished wardrobe and furnishings favour home interior design. Due to the thoughtful use of space, guests will enjoy the same level of attention to detail, with maximum comfort that promotes relaxation during their time down below. The heads on this powercat feature separate shower stalls and Corian washbasins with mixer taps.

In order to drive professionally you must also pass the driver CPC case study test (also known as the Driver CPC case study theory test - Step 2). Both the truck and the bus case study tests ask you to look at three real-life situations a professional driver might face.

Each case study test is computer-based and user-friendly, and works as follows:

  • you will be asked 15 questions on each of three real-life driver situations
  • to pass you must score at least 5 out of 15 in each situation and have an overall score of at least 28 out of 45.

You can prepare for the case study test by reading and learning the Rules of the Road. There are a wide range of official printed, digital and online learning materials available.

Case study test learning resources

To prepare for your case study test you should study the following:

  • The Official driver theory test truck and bus book , available online or in most book shops
  • The Rules of the Road

The RSA also has  approved Driver CPC Trainers  who can help you pass the CPC case study test.

How to book your case study test

If you want to become a category C (CPC truck) or category D (CPC bus) driver you must pass a case study test.

You must have passed the Driver CPC theory test (Step 1) in the relevant category before you can sit your case study test.

You have the option to sit it at any of the  40+ theory test centre locations nationwide.

If you're ready, you can go ahead and book your case study test online now.

Book, reschedule or cancel a CPC theory (case study) test

Rescheduling or cancelling your case study test

You can reschedule or cancel your case study test online.

You must submit your cancellation or rescheduling request at least five days before your test booking. These five days must include three working days.

Your case study test result

When you complete your case study test you will be given a score report. This will tell you whether you have passed or failed your test.

If you've passed

When you pass the case study test you are issued with a driver CPC case study test certificate. This is valid for up to two years. You should apply for a learner permit within that time. After two years the certificate will no longer be valid and you will have to pay for and sit the case study test again.

If you're unsuccessful

If you're unsuccessful at your case study test, you'll get a score report with feedback telling you where you went wrong. Pay attention to these areas as they will help with your revision and give you a better chance of passing next time.

You can  book another case study  test straight away, but you can't take it for another three clear working days.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. But we would not recommend this as the multiple choice theory test can take up to 3 hours to complete (depending on which theory test you have applied for) and the case study test takes 1.5 hours to complete.

Case Study A

You plan to visit a friend who lives in a town a full day’s drive away.

Two weeks before your journey, you realise that your vehicle excise license (road tax) will expire while you’re away.

At the beginning of the journey, you reach a roundabout. Another car cuts in front of you, causing you to do an emergency stop.

Later, you join the motorway, where a red X is flashing above the outside lane.

While travelling along the motorway, you start to feel tired and stop at a service station.

It’s just after 11 pm when you park outside your friend’s house.

What should you do at the roundabout?

Why must you avoid using your horn when parked outside your friend's house, what must you do on the motorway, what should you do at the service station, what should you do two weeks before you leave.

About the Driving Theory Test

  • 1 Car Mock Test 1
  • 2 About the Driving Theory Test
  • 3 What Topics are Covered in the Theory Test?
  • 4 Driving Theory Test FAQs
  • 5 What to Expect in the Hazard Perception Test

Preparing for your theory test goes hand in hand with learning to drive, and it will help you improve your practical skills if you revise and learn your driving theory concurrently alongside your driving lessons.

In order to gain your driving theory test certificate, you are required to pass both aspects of the test – the theory test questions and hazard perception section. If you fail either of these, it is necessary to retake the whole test – so preparation is key.

What Topics are Covered in the Theory Test?

The driving theory test questions are based on information from three books: The Highway Code , Driving – the Essential Skills and Know Your Traffic Signs.

The topics covered in the theory test are as follows:

  • Safety and your vehicles
  • Safety margins
  • Hazard awareness
  • Vulnerable road users
  • Other types of vehicle
  • Road conditions and vehicle handling
  • Motorway driving
  • Rules of the road
  • Road and traffic signs
  • Essential Documents
  • Incidents, accidents, and emergencies
  • Vehicle loading.

Make sure you read about each of these topics individually. Try to gain firm background knowledge in these areas before attempting to tackle some practice questions. It is important that your preparation allows you to learn in detail about these topics, rather than simply trying to memorise the questions. Knowing and understanding driving theory in detail is essential for any safe driver.

While it might be tempting to attempt to pass your driving theory test before starting your driving lessons, this will inhibit your learning as some of the questions in the test are related to practical driving skills, so make sure you are developing your practical skills alongside learning your theory.

Driving Theory Test FAQs

How do i book the driving theory test.

Driving theory tests take place within DVSA test centres and you will need to book ahead to get a slot to take your test. You can do so online.

How much does the driving theory test cost?

The cost of the test in the UK for car drivers is £23.

What is the format of the driving theory test?

Once you are settled and ready for your test, you will be given comprehensive instructions about the test and have the opportunity to run through a practice version of the multiple-choice questions. You will then have a total of 57 minutes to complete the theory section which consists of 50 multiple-choice questions (including three questions based on a video clip). The questions will appear on the screen one at a time with four possible answers. It is a touch-screen system so simply press your selected answer on the screen.

What are the case study questions?

There are five case study questions in the theory section which are designed to test you on your ability to respond effectively to a real-life driving situation so that you know how to apply your theory knowledge when you are driving. The questions can be on a range of driving situations, so make sure you are thinking through your theory knowledge during your driving lessons.

Take a free mock theory test case study .

Can I go back to any questions I haven’t answered?

Yes, you can, as long as you still have time left within the designated 57 minutes. If you have missed any questions, the computer will prompt you to return to them. As you progress through the test, you can ‘flag’ any questions you want to re-visit and by clicking the ‘review’ button, all of these flagged questions will be highlighted. If you have time at the end of the test, it’s a good idea to check through your answers before finishing.

What is the pass mark for the Driving Theory Test?

Currently, the pass mark is 43. This is the same pass mark as the motorcycle theory test .

What to Expect in the Hazard Perception Test

Once you have completed the multiple-choice theory section of the test, you will be given the option of a short break – it’s worth making the most of this to give your brain and eyes a rest. When you are ready to begin, you will be given a set of instructions on how the video-based Hazard Perception Test works as well as the chance to practice using the click-based system. It is a good idea to make the most of this practice run to make sure you are comfortable with how to identify the oncoming hazards.

You will be required to view 14 video clips from the perspective of the driver which runs through various scenarios that involve other vehicles as well as pedestrians. Keep your eyes peeled for developing hazards as the test assesses your ability to notice potential dangers and respond to them in good time.

The aim is to click your mouse as soon as you see the hazard developing, and you will score more points the sooner you click. The maximum score for each video is five points. This decreases the longer you take to respond. You will score no marks if you miss the hazard completely. Make sure you stay alert after identifying one developing hazard in a video clip as one of the videos in your test will contain two hazards. The pass mark is 44 out of 75 .

The system is designed to notice if someone is systematically clicking throughout the video clip, so make sure you’re not clicking consistently or you may be penalised and score zero for that particular video clip. It is important to note also that once you have finished each video you can’t revisit the clip.
