Sunday, february 27, 2022, motorboat vs raft - ark survival evolved.

The raft is an awesome way to explore a map in Ark Survival Evolved in relative safety, as long as you avoid Leeds and swamps infested with various crocodile-like animals.   You can turn a humble raft into a compact and capable base.   After years I finally got a look at the motorboat .   It sort of snuck in under my radar and I discovered it there in my list of engrams.

Just like a raft, you can build on it, either by just placing campfires, storage boxes, etc. right on it, or you can put foundations down and build a proper base.   As a mobile base, the motorboat would be great, especially on maps with a lot of water access, which is about half.  

Resources to Craft the Motorboat

• 1,200 Metal Ingots
• 150 Obsidian
• 400 Polymer
• 60 Black Pearls

On the Ragnarok map this thing could really shine.  The cost is full lined with metal nodes.  Using the motorboat as a cargo ship could be really useful, and pay for the 1,200 metal ingots it costs in short order.  The motorboat might be useful on the Island map too for hauling wood or stone around the coast.  The Island doesn’t have any really fast beasts of burden. 

I play PvE and I really don’t have much practical use for the Ark motorboat, by the time I can learn the engram. By that time I have enough dinos for harvesting and transport.   However, maybe it will be time for a video series living on a raft, and then a motorboat.   Hmmm.

Apologies if the answer is somewhere and I'm clogging up the forums, but basic google and ark wiki searches aren't helping.

I was wondering what the base speed of the motor boat is. I'm trying to decide if I want to build a motor boat or use a water dino with a platform saddle to transport supplies to locations near water that are being raided. I'm aware that water dino's have the advantage of going underwater for cover and are stealthier, but boats have turrets and don't need to be fed. Also just trying to figure out whats the fastest in case the supply station needs to be moved about a lot.

There's a load of youtube videos of some random guys talking about how much faster it is than the other boat and stuff, and using a stop watch to time themselves. I was hoping to get a definitive answer on this. Does anyone know where I should look other than the wiki for ARK? Is there a theorycrafting website for ARK that I should be checking up like Elitist Jerks for WoW back in the Vanilla days? (cudos to you if you get the reference).

When does the Ark: Survival Ascended x Power Rangers crossover release?

It’s time for a most bizarre mighty morphin Ark: Survival Ascended crossover, with the rumored Power Rangers tie-in set to drop, and we know the date of the anticipated content.

Power Rangers is certainly not one I would have pegged for an Ark : Survival Ascended crossover. However, evidence points to this point being imminent, and there’s a ton of mystery surrounding the seemingly inevitable clash of the licenses.

One thing for certain is a release date for the implied Ark: Survival Ascended and Power Rangers crossover, so let’s see what we know.

Ark: Survival Ascended x Power Rangers release date

June 17, 2024 , is the date locked in for the Ark: Survival Ascended and Power Rangers promotional content, and this was confirmed by a social media post from the developer itself.

On Ark: Survival Ascended ‘s official X (formerly TwitteR) page, a post can be found featuring a rather sus-looking image—incorporating images and colors reminiscent of Power Rangers and Ark —along with the date mentioned above.

If this wasn’t evidence enough, the caption for the message features a dinosaur and the classic crossover symbol—followed by a lightning bolt. It just so happens the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers official logo features an identical lightning bolt in the middle of the image.

It’s all but confirmed the Ark and Power Rangers crossover is on its way, and we have a date to go with the update. Make sure your version of Ark is updated and ready to go on June 17, and I guess there’s nothing else to say other than it’s morphin time!

Official ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Comes to ‘ARK: Survival Ascended’ in Premium Mod

Mod repository site CurseForge and developer/publisher Look North World (created by Bungie founder and Co-creator Alex Seropian) in collaboration with Hasbro today released the official ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Premium Mod for Studio Wildcards’ hit survival title ‘ARK: Survival Ascended’. This means you can Morph your game into a Power Rangers adventure and become the ultimate dino-taming Zord-riding Power Ranger. This Premium Mod will run for $9.99 USD across all platforms.

Note that due to specific regional restrictions, the mod cannot be accessed by players in the following countries and regions: Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Laos, Macao, Myanmar (formerly Burma), Pakistan, Taiwan, Korea, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

In addition, the companies are running a “Power Rangers Screengrab Challenge”, and those who score and share their best screengrabs have a chance at winning the following:

Taming dinosaurs can be a tedious process in ARK: Survival Ascended , but it can be made easier by using Kibble. There are a variety of Kibble types, and like with most foods in the game, each dinosaur will prefer a different kind. However, there are some nuances to using Kibble that you will have to navigate while you are attempting to tame dinosaurs. Additionally, players have to craft Kibble as opposed to finding it in the wild.

Dinosaurs are a large part of ARK: Survival Ascended , as is trying to tame and raise them. Dinosaurs can be tamed by either feeding them a certain amount of food , or they can be raised by mating dinosaurs already under your care. You will need a fair amount of ingredients to be able to make Kibble in a expedient fashion, which are all listed below.

Using Kibble For Taming Dinosaurs

Quality tiers.

Kibble can be used to either tame dinosaurs or to help baby dinosaurs imprint when they are young. Certain dinosaurs like certain types of Kibble, but in this case there is a hierarchy of quality Kibble types that go from Basic Kibble to Extraordinary Kibble with four other tiers in between. Dinosaurs will prefer a certain tier, and this matters a lot for how you feed them.

For instance, if you use Basic Kibble as food in ARK: Survival Ascended for a dinosaur who prefers Superior Kibble, the Basic Kibble will not increase the taming percentage by very much , and the taming effectiveness will actually drop. However, if you feed that same dinosaur a Kibble tier above Superior, such as Extraordinary Kibble, it will be just fine. As long as you are feeding your dinosaur its preferred tier or above , you will be able to tame or imprint dinosaurs much faster.

The higher the tier of Kibble, the more versatile it can be.

For instance, using normal food will take about five hours or more to effectively tame a dinosaur, whereas Kibble acts as a superfood and can cut the time expenditure down by a significant margin . Similarly, it will take a lot less Kibble as compared to Berries or Meat to fill up the Taming bar on any Dinosaur. YouTuber Crabbytron goes over these numbers in a very detailed fashion. That being said, Kibble has to be crafted as opposed to found, but it is well worth doing so if you can.

Getting Eggs For Making Kibble

One of the primary ingredients and the one players might have the most trouble getting is Dinosaur Eggs . Eggs come from a number of possible dinosaurs in ARK: Survival Ascended , and they all come in all sorts of colors and sizes. These eggs can be fertilized and used to breed certain dinosaurs as well, so you may not want to use all your eggs to make Kibble.

The main way to get Eggs is to have tamed female dinosaurs around your base , along with a single male dinosaur of each type you plan to breed, as this gives them a mate bonus. You will also need an Oviraptor to pick up the Eggs around your base. The Oviraptor can also provide bonuses to female dinosaurs to get them to lay more Eggs, and a female Oviraptor can drop and pick up her own Eggs as well.

Here is a list of Egg types for each Kibble tier and the dinosaurs that can drop them . The dinosaur in bold in each list is the recommended breed to use for Egg farming. Many flying dinosaurs in ARK: Survival Ascended are very good at laying Eggs.

Kibble Recipes

Preparing dinosaur food.

Kibble must be cooked in either a Cooking Pot or an Industrial Cooker , and you will have to have a certain amount of water as well. A full Waterskin will work best , although the Industrial Cooker has water already built into it. Additionally, it is recommended you focus on higher-tier Kibble, as it will be more useful in the long run.

The Power Rangers join Ark: Survival Ascended in a new CurseForge mod

CurseForge and Hasbro today announced a collaboration to bring one of the latter’s most beloved franchises to a popular game: Namely, the Power Rangers will soon join the world of Ark: Survival Ascended. Players who download the Ark x Power Rangers mod on CurseForge will be able to turn their Ark characters into Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers

Going by the pictures of the Rangers’ Zords and Power Weapons, this incarnation of the Rangers takes after the originals (assuming they’re not actually the originals, which they may well be). They fit well into the setting given their existing ties to prehistoric creatures, though it’s not clear how their many abilities transfer to the games.

CurseForge, a division of Overwolf, is a mod repository that currently contains over 500,000 mods and supports almost 89 games including Ark: Survival Ascended. The game itself has seen over 190 million mods downloaded on both PC and console since its launch.
