The Sunborn Yacht Hotel is docked right outside the ExCel in East London's Docklands. It's a luxury hotel on water that has 4.3 stars on Google Reviews and 4.5 on Tripadvisor.

Afternoon tea at the Sunborn usually starts at £40 per person. Thanks to a Wowcher deal , you get the afternoon tea for two people plus a cocktail each for £64 in total, down from a total price of £116.

The afternoon tea menu is full of elevated versions of the classics. The first tier has ham and mustard mayonnaise, cheddar cheese and chutney, cucumber with yoghurt and dill, mayonnaise and cress, and smoked salmon with cream cheese sandwiches.

Me and my husband stay there for a night for our 31 wedding anniversary. It was well worth the money the breakfast was lovely the staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Great location to get to the 02 Stratford shopping centre is not too far away On the DLR lots of great places to visit a long river. You can also go on the cable cars With the amazing views many places to eat in 02 . Stratford . Canary wharf has amazing bar called brew dog . And if you like the old fashioned style fare game there a place called . Fare games in Canary Wharf just look for the big yellow duck it’s not too expensive it’s an over 18 venue you can get food there . I live in London so this is why I’m giving my view on places you can visit . Greenwich Also has amazing restaurants Some beautiful architecture all with in 15 minutes each other . It is not my first time at this amazing hotel. Absolutely love this hotel, very unique, with an amazing views and close to transport links and attractions in east london. Me and my wife have been there for our anniversary and we found it absolutely lovely and a perfect place for getaway. The staff were very very kind and understanding. The night we had dinner there was a staff member Usha Kiran and their team were absolutely lovely , they helped us in choosing the best food and cocktails. We’d love to come again and looking forward to enjoy their hospitality again.

We booked the Sunborn Yacht Hotel as a surprise for my dad’s 50th birthday. Even before we arrived the staff were so lovely, we called ahead to ensure the hotel could cater to me being in a wheelchair and they were very helpful. The check in process was easy and we were given all the information we needed. When my dad arrived to his room he had a cake, balloons and bubbly waiting as we booked the Birthday Arrival package which was way worth the money it looked great and he was so surprised! The rooms are absolutely stunning just as was the whole of the hotel - it didn’t disappoint in the slightest it was perfect for the special occasion! The staff were super helpful and upgraded my room due to needing some further upgrades due to my disability and illness. They were so understanding and catered to my every need. Honestly couldn’t recommend enough the rooms were beautiful, the whole hotel was beautiful, the bar and restaurant was lovely, the staff were so helpful and kind and we all had the best time! Couldn’t recommend enough!

The receptionist who booked in told us that there was only a continental breakfast available and no hot food, so we declined. Fortunately we checked in the morning and were able to book then and enjoyed an extensive choice of hot and cold buffet food.

Room location and breakfast was all excellent. Most of the staff were approachable.

Huge rooms, fabulously close to Excel

Great location if you have an event in the ExCel! The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and couldn't fault the food.

Only fault I can raise about my stay was the food we had. The burgers we ordered were very dry and bland. But that’s the only thing I can say bad about my stay and that’s a very minor thing.

Great location, staff amazingly helpful and polite, clean and spacious rooms. Honestly one of the best hotels I have stayed in London.

I waited over an hour for room service of two drinks from the bar & was still charged the service charge. The drinks were also incredibly overpriced. The wifi was quite weak & unreliable in the room and the light in our bathroom flickered throughout the full stay. Whilst this is the negative side of the review, none of this would prevent us from staying again we just wouldn’t use room service or drink in the bar.

The hotel was beautiful & the location was ideal. The staff were incredibly helpful & friendly.

I wished that we had more time on the yacht, so beautiful, and more space for relaxing on the outside deck or top deck. The food was ok, but a bit pricy, not a lot of options on the menu only one vegetarian dish.

Very good location, quite and clean. Our rooms was clean and spacious, the view of the river was so beautiful. Breakfast was tasty, loads of options for everyone, a shame that the check out is too early for my liking.

It was a lovely experience,the place was spotless the staff polite and attentive,all in all very good.

I think the decor is tired and some of the internal fittings are now showing wear and tear. Staff were generally inattentive and breakfast was boarding on the chaotic running out of plates and coffee cups. Not as good as when we last stayed.

Great location next to the 02 and Excel. DLR and cable car are close by.

all was good

Was the second time we stayed at this hotel as we loved it so much the first time. Something different. A beautiful authentic yacht in a perfect location within walking distance of the Excel Exhibition Centre. Service was on par with what you would expect from a 4* hotel.

There were kids running round the bar in the evening which spoilt a chilled evening drink.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and bed was really comfy.

When we got there, none of the lifts were working, and there was no indication as to how to contact Reception. Eventually my husband managed to get onto the ship and go to Reception, and a member of staff came to take me up via the service lift (I have mobility issues).

The breakfast bar was really well stocked, with much more than you could ever want! The food was also yummy!! We also appreciated the fridge in the room, in which you could put your own items, as well as bottled water being made available for our use free of charge on a daily basis. All staff were very polite, friendly and attentive, and good at what they did. Especial thanks go to the room operatives, and also to a young man who had only started work the week we went - Kristian, I think - who was happy to deal with any queries, as well as having to learn his new role: we wish him luck in his future endeavours!

Poor breakfast set up, made it a lengthy queue to wait to get seated and then difficult layout for ease Very strict on 3pm check in time so made everyone wait in the bar, which meant everyone wanted to check In at the same time, causing delays and queues.
