Learn how to build and live in your own luxury superyacht, the sims freeplay.

In our latest update, we’re excited to introduce our brand new 3-story Superyacht called the ‘Fantasea’! As with our first yacht the ‘Bella’, the ‘Fantasea’ will allow your Sims to live out the lifestyles of the rich and famous aboard the yacht style residential lot, this time in the beautiful waters of the Mysterious Island! Inspired by the Downtown Developer  events, you’ll need to complete the tasks for the ‘Fantasea’ within the 30-day time limit to receive the glamorous template. It comes complete with luxurious black and gold styling, modern underlit yacht style seating, and a matching black and gold helicopter – a must for any wealthy sim!

To help make sure you can hit the ground running, our game team have put together this short FAQ. 

Q – What is Superyachts?

A – It’s a feature in The Sims FreePlay that allows your Sims to become a Superyachts superstar! By collecting Resources over 30 days, your Sims can collect prizes to ultimately unlock one of our two glamorous 3-story superyachts for your Sims to live in and style as their own. Our first yacht is on the waters of SimTown and is called the ‘Bella’, and our newest yacht is floating just off shore on the Mysterious Island and is called the ‘Fantasea’.

Q – How do I start Superyachts and how long do I have to complete it?

A – Before you begin the newest yacht quest, reach level 42, unlock the Mysterious Island [ The Sims Freeplay- The Mysterious Island Quest – The Girl Who Games ], and finish building our first yacht – the ‘Bella’. This will unlock the pier that the 'Fantasea’ is situated at. From there, find the newly marked yacht icon to start building!

Completing Superyachts without incurring any penalties, and winning the final limited time prize,  takes 30 days. You can actually take as long as you want to complete the event, however there are Major Stage Deadlines. If you do not reach a deadline before the timer expires, there is a cost to continue. However, the next deadline timer doesn’t start until you pay the cost, so it’s easy to catch up, try again, and win the 3-story luxury boat!

If you run out of time but still complete the event, you’ll receive the yacht prize - however just as a bare ship! It will be empty and ready to style however you want for your Sims to live in their new floating palace. 

Q – There are two Superyacht berths available to build, tell me about the details of each?

-          Located in the waters of SimTown

-          Start from Player Level 40

-          Modern white ship with three levels to enjoy, including a gym, roof top spa and lounge area, extra large bedrooms, spiral staircases and more.

-          Grand prize includes the ability to place indoor lighting and decorations under balconies

The Fantasea

-          Located on Mystery Island, left of the bridge - you’ll need to complete the ‘Mysterious Island Quest’ to access this Superyacht!  

-          Available from Player Level 42, but the ‘Bella’ Superyacht event must be completed first

-          Sleek black and gold design with three levels of open plan luxury living including a stylish bar, beautifully appointed cabins, an elegant dining space, and a helipad on the top deck.

-          Limited time prize includes two new helicopters to decorate with - a black one and a white one - as well as exclusive yacht style build mode items.

Q – Where is the Superyachts event menu?

A – The Superyachts menu is accessed via the Active Tasks menu, or via tapping the Superyachts menu icon in the waters where you’re building your yacht – for the ‘Bella’ that’s near the lighthouse in SimTown, and for the ‘Fantasea’ it’s by the bridge on the Mysterious Island.

Q – What’s the bar at the top of the Superyacht menu?

A – That’s the progress bar. It shows your Sim’s progress through the event towards milestone prizes and earning the new yacht!

Q - How do I progress through Superyachts?

A - To progress, your Sims need to collect Resources. Resources are made up of Shards, which up to three Sims can collect each day. The materials are wood, fiberglass and metal, and can be found at various unlocked Community Lots, including the Community Centre, Nightclub and the Park.

As your Sims collects more Resources, they get closer and closer to finishing their development and earning their 3-story yacht!

Be careful though, incomplete Resources are lost at the end of the day! The available Resource changes each day, so collect as many Shards as you can to complete Resources before the day is over.

Q - I have collected all of today's available Shards, but I seem to be blocked and can’t progress to the next day’s Resource.

A – That's correct! There are milestone prizes along the way, but you have to wait until the next day to continue your progress with the Superyachts event unless you purchase a the resource permit early.

Q - Oh no! I’m falling behind - what can I do?

A - There's a few options - Be sure to be diligent with checking in on your Sims and collecting shards as soon as they're discovered! Otherwise, you can use Social Points to collect the remaining resources for any given stage.

  Q - Who is Satsuki the Shipwright and what benefit is there to hiring her? 

A - Satsuki is an non playable character that helps you in your hunt for Resources by uncovering additional Shards every day! With her help, it's easier to build your boat and hit those milestone goals along the way. Once she is unlocked, Satsuki will assist you for up to 45 days, or until you complete the Superyachts event.

Q – Are there any milestone rewards in between the major milestone unlocks?

A - Yes! Along the event timeline you’ll notice a range of different prizes available as you progress. This includes exclusive build mode decor to style your yacht (or anywhere else!), Simoleons and LP. 

Q – What are the details about the Grand Prize?

A - By reaching the end of the event, you get given Simoleons and an empty ‘Fantasea’ superyacht!

Q – What are the details about the Limited Time Prize? 

A - If you complete the event within the time limit, you can earn the ‘Fantasea’ superyacht, completely furnished with three levels of open plan luxury living including a stylish bar, beautifully appointed cabins, an elegant dining space, and a helipad on the top deck. Your Sims can even swim in the ocean next to the boat. You also get modern underlit seating and a matching bar to place wherever you want. 

Q - If I run out of time to unlock the Limited Time Prize, what happens?

A - Never fear, Simmers! You can still receive the empty luxury boat to build on - it just comes unfurnished ready for your next dream build.

Improved face models and superyachts are coming to The Sims: FreePlay

Electronic Arts have announced several new features are coming to several Sims games, including The Sims: FreePlay. FreePlay will finally have improved face models, which is a feature that has been requested by the fan community for years. The new FreePlay update also brings in superyachts to the game. The new faces and the superyacht are part of the Our Faces of the Future Update for the title, which will be ongoing throughout the remainder of fall.

As part of the improved faces, FreePlay will receive new hairstyles, earrings, and glasses for gender-neutral Sims. A component that many fans of the game have complained about is FreePlay’s face options. Players found the game’s face selection to be limited, and it didn’t give room for variety. The reason for the lack of selections is blamed on the game’s limited capabilities on mobile and it being an old game. The FreePlay Twitter account has been teasing out new facial options for several days, and the announcement was made official during EA’s Sims Summit stream on October 18; The Sims 4 also went free to play on the same day.

FreePlay is a mobile version of the classic Sims game that was first released back in 2011 for iOS. The game soon got ported onto Android and other mobile devices. Despite being over 10 years old, EA has continued giving the title new updates and upgrading the game. As mobile devices continue to advance, FreePlay has been getting more content from the main titles.

EA has also continued updating the Sims 4 on PC and modern consoles. A major July update for the game included more elaborate sexual orientation options , curved walls , and improved Wants & Fears . The October streaming event also announced a new modding hub in collaboration with Overwolf, and a new Sims project called The Sims: Project Rene . Project Rene will offer simultaneous cross-platform play and more in-depth customization.

Finding wood shards takes the usual 4 hours, but fiberglass shards take 3 hours (for your sim only; the helper still takes 4 hours).

Living for the next update, the sims freeplay-simdex.

Early Access to Beta Provided by EA/ Firemonkeys (Presented by EA GameChangers) may differ from actual version

The Simdex helps you see your progress in The Sims Freeplay and progress earns us prizes! In this post I will explain how this new feature works.

You will see 3 tabs when you click on the clipboard (quest tasks):

1.Quest Tasks- this is the same as it was before, it shows you all the quests and tasks currently available to complete (previously called Active Tasks)

2.Progress- this shows your progress in the game, it shows you a percentage bar next to each topic:

• Quests- how many main, discovery and feature quests you have completed [TOTAL: 51]
• Professions- how many professions you have completed (reached the highest level in the Police, Filmmaker, Medical Staff and Health Spa professions) [TOTAL: 4]
• Hobbies- how many hobbies you have completed (complete the hobby collection NOTE: for ballet and karate you need to get a sim to level 6 to complete this as there isn’t a hobby collection) this does not include the chocolatier or ice sculpture hobbies [TOTAL: 46]
• Monuments- how many of the Mysterious Island Monuments and Sim Town Sign you have completed  [TOTAL: 6]
• House Lots- how may house lots you have built [TOTAL: 37] The points will stay on 0/15,000 until you get to over 50% and then you will earn 4,000/15,000 points:

• Careers- how many careers you have completed includes elementary and high school students  (reached the highest level in) [TOTAL: 10]
• Buildings- how many buildings you have built (includes the Beach, Arcade, Pet Park and Carnival (but not the areas in those locations that require life orbs to build) This does not include house template  [TOTAL: 46]

You get more points for completing Downtown Developer, Sim Springs and Super Yacht Events and Midtown Cafe but these don’t show on the Simdex progress screen

3.Simdex- this shows you in detail what unlocks at each level of the game so you can easily see what is left for you to complete:

NOTE: live events, seasonal quests, simchase and influence island events won’t appear in your simdex as they are only available for a limited time 

Each time you complete something the game that adds to your progress you will earn progress points which unlock prizes! Click on the prize button at the top of the progress or simdex tabs to see all the progression prizes available and how many points you need to unlock them:

You won’t miss out if you are on a higher level in the game , progress points have already been credited for progress you have already completed before this update so you should see the claim option straight after updating:

Items in brackets are unlocked by completing the previous item on that line and t he > means you need to complete the previous item listed before you can start that one but if you get stuck once you have updated your game you can click on any item in the Simdex and it will explain how to complete it

Thanks for the details on this. I like this but I’m already at level 51, will I get these items automatically? Does anyone know?

Once the Simdex is in the game you can click the prize button to claim the prizes you have unlocked so far.

I have noticed that on your screen shot, and in my own game that the house lot show up as 0/15500 points no matter how many house lots I make. Is this a glitch?!!

Once I got over 50% on this I received 4,000/15,000 points so I don’t think this is a glitch

When does it start

The update is available from the 26th July.

I am excited for probably the first time since I started playing! The organization structure is amazing. I have everything completed so I am in for a haul of prizes! My dream for the future would be the ability to redo some of the quests at the very beginning. I missed out on many decorative prizes like wall colours that I can never access. Back to the wall, I believe, is the one that I messed up on big time. This new Simdex would allow redos to happen and I hope the developers are working towards that.

I am glad to see you still excelling at what you do despite the recent difficult times you have had. Thank you for your blog and videos, and I wish you bright days ahead my friend. 💐

What count as buildings? Is it just community buildings like the police station, or do they also count lots from various events, such as the school campus, secret garden etc? And what about the buildable sections at the locations built with orbs? Do they count as a building, or are they part of having built the place?

House templates don’t count towards buildings as these have their own category in the simdex (house lots) It does count the main building built with life orbs, not the areas at the location.

Thanks for the update on the glitch. I’m pretty upset that a lot of the stairs I unlocked is locked again. It even said I completed the event.

I noticed that the hobby Chocolatier is missing from the Sim index. Do you think it’s a glitch or can it be from a different reason? Thanks

It is probably because the chocolatier hobby was only available during a hobby event so not everyone has access to it so their progress would be incomplete, this is probably the same for the ice sculpture hobby.

Thank you for your site I have a question if I build all the house lots, and get the points for that, then abolish a house, what would happen to my progress?

You won’t lose any progress points if you demolish a house.

Hey, I’ve got a question do you have to complete everything in the game to get the final prize. Im avoiding doing the life and dreams quest but do I have to do it to get the extra sim?

Yes you would need to complete that to get enough points to earn the final prize.

Hi I have a question about the progress part. It says 10 careers but I can only find 8?

The other two are elementary and high school students.

Hi, when you unlock the house, do you get it for free the first time when you get to that level or do you have to pay to build it?

The first one will be free, after this it will cost simoleons.

Thank you so much for your helpful hints and tutorials. Question regarding the Simdex final prize. If I am already at my max sim count, will I still get a new sim or will I need to delete one to add the new one? Also, can the new sim be an infant or does it need to be an adult? Thanks!

You’re welcome! This prize will add one sim to your sim count so you can have any extra sim in your town and the new sim can be an infant.

Is there a difference between the premium and normal house slot for the family vineyard?

Most of the simdex houses just have empty space at the back of the premium residence so I think this one is the same.

Hi! Newbie sims freelplay question: can you edit a simdex prize house? Like extend the house to the backyard? Or extend/edit the fencing to the backyard to add a pool?

You can edit a simdex house like a normal house so if there is room to extend the house/fencing/pool then you will be able to.

It says I have 19/37 house lots but 0 points towards this. Is there a reason?

Once I got over 50% on this I received 4,000/15,000 points.
