Meet ‘Home,’ the Sleek 164-Foot Superyacht That Starred in ‘Below Deck’

The 164-footer was not only the backdrop for the reality series but also has hybrid propulsion and a "50 shades of white" interior., julia zaltzman, julia zaltzman's most recent stories.

Superyacht Home by Heesen

The 164-foot motor yacht Home was Heesen’s first hybrid yacht when it delivered in 2017. It was also the first yacht to combine hybrid propulsion with a Fast Displacement Hull Shape (FDHF), which is proven to outperform conventional hull forms at all speeds. Built in lightweight aluminum, Home delivers 48 percent more fuel efficiency than other yachts of the same size.

Another perk of the hybrid propulsion package is reduced noise and vibration. Sensory expert Barry Smith, founder of the Centre for the Study of the Senses, discovered that the enjoyment of fine dining and wine while cruising in electric mode is significantly enhanced.

“Our research has shown that the brain’s processing of taste is affected by noise, which reduces the tongue’s ability to detect salt, sweet and sour,” says Smith. “The beauty of Home is the ability to run at a sound of around 46 decibels—the sound level of softly falling rain—enabling those on board to enjoy food and drink with no diminution of taste.”

Home began as a speculation build by the shipyard, before the American owner stepped in to the project. The initial interior was not to his liking, so he engaged Italian designer Cristiano Gatto to rework the design. He mandated simplicity, rather than minimalism. He also requested decor inspired by his residences, reflecting their contemporary Ibiza style. One perfect example: The slinky metal chaise lounge in the main salon by Italian designer Franco Poli.

Here are 10 facts about one of the world’s first hybrid yachts.

Star of the Med

Home ’s fortune took a sharp turn in 2022 when it became the star of the seventh season of Below Deck Mediterranean . Filmed in Malta, the reality series followed its crew over an eight-week charter season, with Captain Sandy Yawn at the helm. Unlike most yachts on Below Deck, Home retained its real name on screen. It was the first diesel-electric motor yacht to appear on the show, and in typical style, the producers added a dancing pole to the sundeck to spice up the onboard antics.

50 Shades of White

below deck malta yacht

Home takes the trend for neutral interiors to a whole new level. Alongside a color palette of black and gray with pops of deep red, the yacht features 50 shades of white, from off-white to ivory. The original owner mandated an interior that gave him a “home away from home”—hence the yacht’s name. Low-slung sofas and bespoke loose furniture create a relaxed and welcoming beach club ambience. The vessel’s teak flooring and full-height glass windows blur the distinction between inside and out.

Party Lounge

below deck malta yacht

One of Heesen’s signature areas is an upper-deck sky lounge. Home ’s casual bean bags, daybeds, and stark-white bar with LED strip lighting provide a natural extension to the alfresco dining terrace. When the doors to the aft deck are shut and the furniture removed, a mirror ball and a smoke machine are added turning the area into a dedicated party room for nighttime use.

A Dreamier Shade of Pale

below deck malta yacht

Full-height windows in the full-beam, main deck owner’s suite bounce natural light off the paler-than-pale color scheme. The off-white bed, rug, walls, and ceiling are offset with a sky-blue bed throw. There is a dressing room, an en suite with shower and a private office. There’s also a full-beam VIP cabin on the lower deck, as well as two double cabins and two twin cabins to accommodate 12 guests, including families.

Moody Sundeck

below deck malta yacht

Home ’s sundeck is the hub of the boat. There are sun lounges forward with privacy glass safety screens to shelter guests from sea spray and wind. Beneath the hardtop bimini is a large sit-up bar and lounge area, which also doubles as an outdoor dining area. The bar lights up in soft pastel shades at night to bring the party atmosphere. Aft is a Jacuzzi, while a projector and a screen set-up transform the deck into an outdoor cinema.

On the Nose

below deck malta yacht

The yacht is easily spotted on the horizon, thanks to its distinctive plumb bow. The vertical front increases Home ’s waterline length, helping it to slice through waves and lift in rougher water. It guarantees a smoother and faster ride for guests, as well as creating more room on the interior for crew accommodations. For a more immersive journey, a telescopic seat on the foredeck rises from the bow for 360-degree views.

Sea Terrace

below deck malta yacht

A central staircase on the main deck aft leads down to an oversized swim platform that doubles as a sea-level sun lounge. With plenty of room for daybeds and sunrise yoga sessions, it’s the perfect waterside hang out.

The Athletic Club

below deck malta yacht

The lower-deck gym is a full-beam, air-conditioned space for guests to sweat it out. It’s kitted out with a range of equipment, including a workout bench, Techno Gym dumbbells, an exercise bike, and a rowing machine. When guests are done with their workout, they’re just a few steps from the sea for the ultimate plunge to cool off.

The Electric Package

The twin 805 hp MTU engines (smaller than those typically fitted on a yacht of this size) can be operated in four different cruising modes: hybrid (with noise levels in the owner’s stateroom measuring as low as 46 decibels), economic, cruising (consuming as little as 12 gallons per hour at 9 knots), and boost, which pushes the boat to a top speed of 16.8 knots.

Fast, Efficient Hull

At the time of launch, Home was the first yacht to combine the super efficiency of an FDHF hull, designed by Van Oosenan Naval Architects, with hybrid propulsion. The combination was celebrated with a RINA green award presented by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Here Are All Of The Filming Locations In Below Deck Mediterranean History

From sailing around the Greek islands to coasting in Croatia, Captain Sandy Yawn and crew have been places.

below deck malta yacht

When the  Below Deck Mediterranean  crew is sailing around the Mediterranean with Captain Sandy Yawn at the helm, they are bound to make port in some gorgeous locations.

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck Mediterranean  on Mondays at 9/8c and next day on  Peacock . Catch up on the Bravo app .

Each season brings a different group of crew members together in a brand new location on yet another mega yacht. Whether they're exploring the Greek islands with charter guests, trying to set up a picnic on the windy coast of Croatia, or dealing with difficult guests in the South of France, the crew members are always prepared to deal with what is given to them. And being able to hang out in a gorgeous locale between charters certainly doesn't hurt, either.

But these locations are not chosen at random . In 2020, the  New York Times  reported that a suitable location for filming each season offers "easy access to a major airport", a "robust network of local suppliers able to continuously outfit the yacht with perishables like ice and fresh meat," and "be a place that will look beautiful on TV."

When it comes to the Mediterranean, it's seems like it'd be hard for there  not  to be a beautiful location. Read on to live out all of your yachting fantasies.

Season 1: The Greek Islands

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 1 took place in the Greek Islands.

Season 1 of  Below Deck Med kicked off on the coast of Greece  — and, more specifically, the Greek Islands. This debut season of the  Below Deck  spinoff was the franchise's   first time venturing to the Mediterranean even though, as one of the cast members stated in the introduction to the first episode of Season 1, "the Mediterranean is the hub of yachting."

This gave charter guests the opportunity to explore all of the gorgeous locations. "We have Mykonos to the north, Santorini to the south," the late Captain Mark Howard said in Season 1. "Every time we drop anchor it will be some place different for them."

And that is exactly what charter guests did aboard the  M/Y  Ionian Princess  in the debut season. Although the crew — including  Below Deck Med  mainstay, chief steward Hannah Ferrier — were a bit Americanized, they were still able to manage. After throwing a hoedown and coming up with a way for charter guests to make s'mores in Greece, the crew members still got to enjoy the crystal blue waters that the Greek islands had to offer.

Season 2: Croatia

Below Deck Med season 2 takes place in Croatia.

Captain Sandy's debut season found her controlling the  M/Y Sirocco  on the Adriatic Sea along the coast of Croatia, primarily along the Dalmatian coast.

"Croatia is the Mediterranean's hidden gem. It has like, hundreds of islands," said one crew member in Season 2, Episode 1. "Everything about this place is just gorgeous," added another.

But Captain Sandy's first season wasn't entirely full of smooth sailing. Captain Sandy and returning chief steward Hannah were at odds after Hannah allegedly  kissed a charter guest behind closed doors and continued to stay in contact with the person, breaking one of Captain Sandy's biggest rules.

RELATED: Here's What Hannah Ferrier Has Been Up To Since Below Deck Mediterranean

In spite of the conflict, the crew still ended up loving Captain Sandy for her fantastic personality and impeccable leadership skills. "She's easy going, she's funny, and she's so laid back," deckhand Max Hagley said. "I mean, if she was any more laid back, she'd fall over."

Season 3: Italy

Below Deck Season 3 took place in Italy.

Captain Sandy returned for good in Season 3 of  Below Deck Med, this time aboard the  M/Y Talisman Maiton , sailing around coastal Italy in the "biggest yacht" that she had ever captained.

"You can't help but think of Italy as the most romantic place in the world," one crew member said in Season 3, Episode 1. "Naples is a big super yacht marina," Captain Sandy added. "Lovely anchorages: Capri, Ischia, Positano."

Hannah and Chef Adam Glick were the only returning crew members this season, but that didn't stop the crew from mostly working well together. Lead deckhand  João Franco hit it off with second and third stews , Brooke Laughton and Kasey Cohen , but found himself clashing with Hannah  due to their different personalities.

Season 4: France

Below Deck Med season 5 takes place in France.

Below Deck Med  took to the south of France for the first time in Season 4, aboard the M/Y Sirocco  first seen in Season 2. And this updated location brought a new bout of charter guests and crew members alike. "South of France is a playground for the wealthiest people in the world," one crew member said during Episode 1.

"You have Cannes, St. Tropez, Nice, and Monaco," Captain Sandy added. "It's where everyone shows off. Look at me. Look how big my boat is."

Hannah, for one, was looking forward to docking in a new country . "The South of France is my home away from home," she said. "I actually discovered it when I was traveling around Europe with my mom. I went home and put into Google, 'what can I do speaking English in the South of France' and yachting came up and voilà."

In spite of being in her happy place, Hannah and Captain Sandy found themselves in a tiff when Sandy wasn't pleased with Hannah 's level of service, which she claimed had been declining all season. But despite their issues, coupled with a change in chef midway through the charter, the crew  — even Hannah and Sandy — were able to end on good terms.

Season 5: Spain

Below Deck Med Producer Bts

Season 5 had the  M/Y Wellington  cruising in the ever-so-desirable location off the island of Mallorca, Spain.

"Mallorca is literally one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean," Hannah, back for her fifth season as Chief Steward, told cameras in Episode 1. "The anchorages are stunning. The waters are second to none."

But this was also a season for the history books. Why? Because for the first time, Captain Sandy had a female bosun , Malia White , putting women in all of the positions of leadership, and   it was officially the "biggest boat" that Captain Sandy had ever steered (take that, Season 3). How is that for some girl power?

But in typical  Below Deck Med  fashion, things had to go wrong. The first charter got a little complicated when Hannah found herself in  conflict with her second stew , Lara Flumiani , and Malia felt like she wasn't being respected  by her deck crew. Later on in the season, Captain Sandy found that Hannah was in possession of medication that she wasn't prescribed, making her too much of a risk to go to sea. She then asked Hannah to leave the ship for good.

Season 6: Croatia

Below Deck Med Season 6 takes place in Croatia.

After a rocky season in Season 5, Season 6 started off on a high with a brand new chief stew , Katie Flood , returning bosun  Malia, and Captain Sandy's second time yachting in Croatia — this time docking the  M/Y Lady Michelle  in Šibenik.

Malia, personally, was happy to be back. "It's actually a crazy feeling being back in Croatia, because the last time I was here, I was a green deckie," she said in Episode 1 of Season 6, referring to her first appearance on Below Deck Med  in Season 2. "It was the opportunities that Captain Sandy gave me that made me want to stick with yachting."

Captain Sandy was also very happy to be back. "Being back here on the Dalmatian coast, based in Šibenik, it's more nature, country, small village. I love that."

Of course, this season was not without its fair share of excitement. Captain Sandy got to officiate her first a wedding on ship, in between trying to calm down  an injured chef , managing a very "green" deck crew , and navigating a massive rain storm. Hey, no one said charter season would be a walk in the park.

Season 7: Malta

Below Deck Med Season 7 takes place in Malta.

This season found Captain Sandy in her first time ever in Malta and it's safe to say that it was exciting for her. "Malta is a small country off the coast of Sicily," Captain Sandy said in Season 7 Episode 1. "It has so many different influences. Arabic, Italian, Spanish. It's a little piece of paradise that hasn't been discovered by the super yacht industry."

In addition to being in a new place, Captain Sandy was dealing with an all new crew — chief steward, Natasha Webb , head chef, Dave White , and bosun, Raygan Tyler .

RELATED: Here's What Chef Dave White Has Been Up To Since Below Deck Mediterranean

"This season for me, it's a new place, a new boat, with new department heads," Captain Sandy said in the first episode. (This was the recipe for either a great charter season aboard the  M/Y Home  or a terrifying one.) "Challenge accepted," she said.

But this new location did give way to new difficulties. Captain Sandy had to deal with hiring a new bosun after a major error was made and had to hire extra deckhands and an extra stew to help pick up some slack. Still, she managed to make do, and the charter season was completed successfully.

Season 8: Italy

Below Deck Med Season 8 takes place in Italy.

Captain Sandy was already very familiar with Season 8's location in Genoa, Italy: She previously lived there for a year and had come to know the lay of the land before climbing aboard M/Y Mustique  in Season 8. "Genoa's one of the busiest ports in Europe," she said in Episode 1.

"It's beautiful. It is the Italian Riviera," she added. "You have all these amazing places you can drop anchor. It's an epic experience."

And what an experience it has been so far this season. Not only did the chief stew and second stew get caught up in customs ahead of the first charter, Captain Sandy's bosun, Ruan Irving , had incorrect paperwork, leading her to have to assign Luka Brunton as bosun at the last minute.

In spite of these changes, the scenery has been beautiful this season — and that will never change.

Yes, You Can Really Charter Below Deck Med ’s New Superyacht, Home

Renting or buying Season 7’s new vessel won’t come cheap though.

"Home", the new yacht from 'Below Deck: Mediterranean' is available to rent or buy.

When Captain Sandy Yawn and her all-new crew set sail on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 7, they’ll be in uncharted territory aboard a new superyacht, Home . While cruising the pristine waters of Malta, Captain Sandy was working for the first time on the 163-foot motor yacht, which Bravo described as a “complex hybrid vessel” that the Below Deck Med vet found to be “more unpredictable to navigate.” As the show’s Season 7 trailer previewed, Home won’t make it through the charters entirely unscathed either: In one clip, Captain Sandy laments that she hit something for the first time in her career, while another scene teases a potential “crashing” incident.

Rest assured that there weren’t any serious accidents because Home is currently available for charter in the Caribbean region at a cost ranging from $245,000 to $273,000 per week , depending on the season. Meanwhile, Home — the first diesel-electric motor yacht to appear on Below Deck — is also listed for sale with an asking price of just over $30.8 million. Per the listings, the superyacht, which Dutch shipyard Heesen built in 2017, sleeps up to 12 guests in six cabins and features contemporary, “Ibiza-style” decor. Among Home ’s many amenities are a large sun deck, jacuzzi, swim platform, air-conditioned gym, and sky lounge.

Home also sleeps up to 10 crew members. In Below Deck Med Season 7 , that includes Captain Sandy, returning Season 6 deckhand Mzi “Zee” Dempers, and newcomers: chief stew Natasha Webb, chef Dave White, bosun Raygan Tyler, stews Natalya Scudder and Kyle Viljoen, and deckhands Storm Smith and Jason Gaskell. Following her involvement in Hannah Ferrier’s mid-Season 5 firing, Malia White cited a scooter accident and pending exams — not fan backlash — as her reasons for not returning for Season 7. (“It’s not that I might never come back to the show,” Malia told Showbiz Cheat Sheet in May. “I’m just not on the next season.”)

Season 7’s “new boat with new department heads” might bring Captain Sandy some challenges during her “first time ever in Malta,” but she’s naturally ready to face them all head-on. The network also told viewers to expect “outrageous costumes, wild nights out, and some major inter-departmental drama,” which “doesn’t even cover what the charter guests are going to bring in the new season.”

As always, expect plenty of romance at sea, too. As Bravo’s first look teased, “boatmances” will be a major topic of conversation this season, including flirtations between Natalya and Storm, as well as several questions about the true nature of Natasha and Dave’s relationship. There could even be a fling between a crew member and a charter guest, too. Though Bravo is premiering the series on July 11, Peacock subscribers can access new Below Deck Med Season 7 episodes a week early beginning July 4.

Fans can also experience Home for themselves off-screen — but it will cost way more than their monthly cable bills.

Below Deck Mediterranean 's Season 7 Trailer Goes Where They've Never Been Before

Meet the new crew members joining captain sandy yawn and deckhand mzi "zee" dempers on a first-ever trip to malta in the first look at the bravo series' upcoming seventh season..

Below Deck Mediterranean is back for a season full of surprises.

Captain Sandy Yawn and fan-favorite Deckhand Mzi "Zee" Dempers are headed to Malta in the first look at season seven of the hit  Bravo reality series, which returns July 11. (Fans can catch the supersized season premiere one week early on July 4 on Peacock .)

The destination isn't the only new thing this season. Joining Sandy and Zee on board is a brand-new crew, which consists of Chief Stew Natasha Webb , Chef Dave White , Bosun Raygan Tyler , Stews Natalya Scudder and Kyle Viljoen and Deckhands Storm Smith and Jason Gaskell .

Sandy tells guests in the new trailer, "Our goal is to make this your home away from home," and apparently doing so includes lots of drinks, silly costumes and sexy strippers.

As Chief Stew Natasha jokes, "When s--t hits the fan, the best thing to do is feed them alcohol."

It wouldn't be Below Deck without some onboard drama and hookups. The trailer teases Stew Natalya hitting it off with a crew member, despite stating she's not looking for a "boat romance," while Stew Kyle pursues a hookup with a guest.

"Bring me a naked man," Natalya jokes with her "twin" Natasha, "and bring him to me now."

However, tensions rise as Natasha begins a new relationship with Chef Dave, something that could affect the whole crew if it goes south. "The Chief Stew and the Chef have to work well together," says Sandy. "It permeates through the boat."

Between Deckhand Jason butting heads with crewmates, Sandy hitting a large buoy and struggling with difficult weather, fans will have to tune in to see if things end up smooth sailing or if the cast is in for rocky seas.

Check out the full trailer above and scroll through the gallery below to see the new cast photos.

Below Deck Mediterranean season seven premieres Monday, July 11, at 8 p.m. on Bravo. Fans can catch up on past seasons and stream new episodes one week in advance on Peacock .

(E!, Bravo and Peacock are all part of the NBCUniversal family.)

As a renowned superyacht captain and mentor in the yachting industry, Captain Sandy is always looking to support crew members to reach their full potential. Returning to the Mediterranean, Captain Sandy is thrilled to start fresh with a new group of skilled yachties.

Ambitious Chief Stew Natasha Webb is always ready to welcome charter guests with a charming smile and a craft cocktail. After serving as a Chief Stew on bigger vessels with more interior support, she must quickly acclimate to a smaller team. This season, she grapples with setting work-life boundaries, and after personal issues spill out in the department, she sees a lack of respect while others see chaos, bringing her to a decision point about the best path forward to be a strong leader.

Born in the UK and with over seven years of experience as a Head Chef, Dave White prides himself on plating, flavor and presentation. He immediately impresses Captain Sandy and sets high expectations to serve food nothing short of exemplary the entire season. As he struggles to hold on to a shocking secret from his past, emotions bottle up putting his job on thin ice.

Essex-born Raygan Tyler heads the deck team and excitedly joins as Captain Sandy's second-ever female Bosun. She is over the moon to work with a female Captain after facing frustrations with gender equality in the yachting industry. As the first few charters get off to a rocky start, Raygan quickly finds that leading this deck crew on this type of unfamiliar superyacht is more challenging than anticipated.

Born in Western Australia, Natalya Scudder has always been drawn to the water and brings her outgoing and "can-do" personality to the interior team. Whether she is entertaining the guests or setting stunning tablescapes, Natalya is dedicated to the job, but a steamy new romance proves to be a big distraction. Looking for perfection in every aspect of her life, she gets into conflict when she sees things falling apart around her.

Originally from South Africa but currently based in New York, Kyle Viljoen is the life of any party and is ready to spice up the charter season. Previously serving as a Chief Stew on other yachts, Kyle brings a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry and has no problem confronting anyone if he is challenged. His innate savviness and determination to deliver excellent service has helped him handle the most difficult guests, but things become even more surprising when certain boundaries are crossed. While he hopes that working hard will lead to the perfect charter season, an astonishing twist threatens to derail everything.

Returning to the Mediterranean with even more experience, Mzi "Zee" Dempers is happy to be out of quarantine and back on deck under Captain Sandy's wing. Eager to develop further in his role as a deckhand, Zee quickly realizes working with this group of yachties may be harder than he thought and must decide what is most important: old friend allegiances or his career growth.

Having left a career in commodity to become his own skipper on a sailboat, Jason Gaskell joins "Home" as his first experience working on a superyacht and finds that working with a supervisor and peers may be his biggest battle yet.

Born and raised in South Africa, where he developed a childhood friendship with Mzi, Storm Smith spent most of his time outdoors at the beach either surfing or fishing. With an abundance of knowledge from his time on a handful of different boats, he must navigate the exceptionally high standards and demands of the yachting industry. When he finds himself in the middle of a new romance with a fellow yachtie, he struggles to figure out how to juggle work and play.

The pr istine Mediterranean waters of Malta will serve as the ideal backdrop for the new season of Bravo’s “Below Deck Mediterranean” which will be pr emiering next Monday, with Captain Sandy Yawn and 163-foot motor yacht “Home.”

Different from pr evious charter seasons, Sandy is working with a complex hybrid vessel making it more unpredictable to navigate. To ensure smooth sailing this year, Sandy brings on a trio of new department heads, but when surprising friction in the galley intensifies between the Chief Stew and Chef, who came onto the boat as colleagues and friends, tension permeates through the entire boat.

Meanwhile, the deck team faces an uphill battle when one crew member is unable to adapt tothe high demands of Mediterranean superyachting, forcing others to pick up the slack. From difficult charter guests to roller-coaster “boatmances” and challenges with hierarchy on board, these yachties go to unthinkable lengths to survive the charter season.

Watching the latest series of Below Deck Med has got us all dreaming about a lavish trip out on the gorgeous Mediterranean waters of Malta. Well, the SamBoat crew has decided to bring you the ultimate itinerary for a Below Deck-inspired stay in Malta – minus the drama, of course!

below deck malta yacht

First, head to picturesque Valletta , the smallest capital city in Europe, with influences from its parent cultures of Africa and the Middle East. Valletta combines all the redeeming qualities of a buzzy city (the vibrancy, diversity, and pace of life) with the best parts of a more rural experience – including a warm breeze that offers some respite from the beating sun, and the sense of a potential off-the-beaten-track adventure in the air. We recommend spending the morning in the Old Town – the heart of the city’s culture and history. In the afternoon, set sail along the coast in a boat like the Dufour 460 Grand Large towards the Kalkara Creek, which can be found opposite Malta’s large harbour. On your journey along the calming blue sea, take in the sight of the majestic Valletta bastions, Vittoriosa’s Fort St Angelo and Ricasoli – all historical monuments key to defining the island’s character.

below deck malta yacht

As you arrive at Kalkara Marina, you might feel ready for lunch – try Marea. The lively restaurant overlooks the Grand Harbour and offers a blend of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine, which they refer to as ‘Mediterrasian’. Think sushi, seafood, sashimi platters and pasta: colourful, cooked with care and packed with flavour. Or, speaking of fish, nearby is the traditional fishing village Marsaxlokk, and it might be time to trade in the Bavaria Cruiser for a Luzzu – a traditional Maltese fishing boat. These brightly coloured vessels can be spotted from the pier, and bob along the sea creating a wonderful rainbow. Make sure to look out for a pair of eyes painted on the bow: a practice dating back to Phoenician times; this is a way of protecting the fisherman from the ‘evil eye’. Head to the area’s fish market, which is popular with tourists and locals, and make like Chef David haggling for some fresh fish. If this doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can still experience all that Marsaxlokk has to offer by heading to a seafood restaurant by the seafront, feasting on fresh fish and fantastic food whilst the sun sets.

Besides the demanding, super-wealthy guests, one of the highlights of Below Deck Med is seeing the beautiful sandy beaches. If you’re looking to splash out in true Below Deck fashion, jump on a seductive sunseeker yacht , sail from Marsaxlokk to Golden Bay, a blue flag certified beach, and prepare for a day of water sports activities. However, the bay is super popular during high season – So plan ahead.

From one Maltese beauty spot to another, head down to Comino – an island admired by tourists and locals alike. The peaceful island is home to just a handful of people, so you’re sure to feel like a VIP. Tune out the noise of everyday life as you lay on the deck of a Sunseeker Predator – a yacht that boasts a seamless entertaining space with uninterrupted views – and look up in awe of the azure skies. After a spot of relaxation, it’s time to get snorkelling and dive into the famous Blue Lagoon.

below deck malta yacht

The next day, leave the glamourous Hollywood-esque hills behind for the island of Gozo – covered with jaw-dropping cliffs, bays and caves. Time to get your sweat on as you embark on a breathtaking hike across the island, taking in the natural beauty. After a rewarding session, grab a Ħobż Biż-żejt, a native sandwich made with tomato paste, capers, tuna chunks and olive oil, from kiosk Simenta. Wash down the sandwich with Cisk, a local lager – now that’s what we call fine dining! After spending the last few days living the Below Deck experience, it’s time to return to Valletta in style in your sleek and sporty Predator Mamy yacht. Calling all yachties and reality show fans!! Below Deck Mediterranean Season 7 docks in Malta!

Trust me, after watching a few episodes of Below Deck Mediterranean you will be absolutely smitten!

below deck malta yacht

The show chronicles the lives of the crew who work and reside aboard a superyacht during charter season.

So far we have been captivated with previous seasons deliciously set in Greece, Croatia, and Italy to name but a few, and for Season 7, which has just aired this week in the UK, Captain Sandy Yawn is back at the helm of spectacular 163ft motor yacht HOME docked in our beloved Grand Harbour at Birgu (Vittoriosa) Malta!

Motor Yacht Home

The charter guests are often hilarious, often exceedingly annoying and often leave you incredibly speechless! The crew have the absolute patience of a Saint!

Mind you they may work hard but they also play hard too.

I've just finished watching episode 1 and it's lining up to be an awesome season! Just one spoiler, stabilisers!

Being less frivolous - it's absolutely wonderful to have this latest season set in Malta as it very much highlights the desirability of the islands to the discerning traveller and the luxury yachting community.

Visit Malta and the MTA are working hard to showcase the islands as so much more than just a flop and drop destination, enticing those travellers who have never visited before and those looking for a more experiential holiday. With the whole world economy still being in a state of recovery, the tourist pound has never been more valuable.

‘Below Deck’ Sailing Yacht Shares Chilling Link To Sunken Morgan Stanley Billionaire’s Boat ‘Bayesian’

The plot thickens...

‘Below Deck’ Sailing Yacht Shares Chilling Link To Sunken Morgan Stanley Billionaire’s Boat ‘Bayesian’

Much has been made of the tragic events that unfolded earlier this week off the Sicilian coast, with the Morgan Stanley international chairman initially missing before being found dead alongside tech founder Mike Lynch. Adding more intrigue to the tale, a strange link between the sunk Bayesian yacht and hit show Below Deck has been uncovered…

The Italian shipyard Perini Navi, which built the PARSIFAL III — the yacht featured in the popular reality show Below Deck that rammed a pier due to an engine malfunction — is also the maker of the Bayesian , which tragically sank on August 19.

PARSIFAL III Misadventure

Below Deck is an American reality TV series that made its debut in 2013 on Bravo TV . The show, to date, is running on season 11, with a new cast of crews on every luxury superyacht during its chartering season. Their challenges while catering to wealthy guests are depicted on the show. The PARSIFAL III , a 177-foot yacht, suffered a big mishap during an episode of the show’s second Sailing Yacht season which first aired on May 17, 2021.

below deck malta yacht

While trying to maneuver in bad weather, the yacht hit a dock because its engine broke down. In an explanation, Yacht’s Captain Glenn Shephard said:

“I was using a different maneuver mode. And there’s a computer in between the throttles and the propeller that adjusts the load on the engine. Maybe my inputs were too much for the computer and it kind of, I don’t know, froze or didn’t react in the right way. I’m not really 100 percent sure. But I was pushing ahead and it was still moving backwards, which is not normal.”

Some of the wreckage was visible floating in the sea after the accident. Luckily, no serious damage was caused in this crash. Launched in 2005, PARSIFAL III can accommodate up to 12 charter guests in a master suite, two double cabins, and two twin cabins. The yacht also has a Jacuzzi and two Open Bic sailboats for guests to play with.

Not So Lucky

The Bayesian , also created by Perini Navi, was not as lucky. Sailing in a sudden and strong squall that created too much wind and conditions for the yacht to handle, the vessel sank after its mast broke in half off the coast of Sicily near the fishing village of Porticello   in the early hours of Monday.

below deck malta yacht

Of the 22 people on board at the time of the tragedy, 15 were rescued, while six others lost their lives, among them being the chairman of Morgan Stanley International, Jonathan Bloomer, and tech tycoon Mike Lynch.

His daughter Hannah Lynch, 18, is still missing, and rescuers are frantically searching for her. Lynch was a British technology entrepreneur who achieved fame through his software company, Autonomy Corporation, which Hewlett-Packard bought for over $11 billion USD in 2011.

How to charter a Below Deck superyacht

Want to know how much it would cost to charter one of the luxury superyachts featured on US hit TV series Below Deck ? We take a look inside Below Deck ’s famous superyachts that you can charter for yourself, and find out what they have to offer charter guests on board.

Northern Sun

The star yacht of Below Deck Down Under season two, the 50.8-metre Northern Sun (originally delivered as Hokko Maru ) has lived a full and fascinating life. She was the largest yacht built by Narasaki Shipbuilding at the time and worked as an ice-class research vessel, analysing marine life and ocean currents in the North Japan Sea. As a result, she has the hardy constitution of an explorer, transformed from ship to superyacht under the stewardship of her new owners.

Northern Sun’s main deck is now dedicated entirely to entertainment, from the al fresco dining area to the main saloon with its piano and games table. Other leisure highlights include gym equipment, a dedicated library on the lower deck and an outdoor Jacuzzi, surrounded by sun pads and lounge beds. The owners’ addition of a forward seating area during her refit allows for versatile recreation, whether the mood calls for cocktail parties or quiet, waterside contemplation.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests across six cabins, with rich, warm interiors that feature natural materials such as narra and makore wood (commonly known as cherry mahogany). The ex-explorer also – naturally – has impressive stowing capacity. She's able to carry two Laser sailboats, scuba-diving equipment, a waterski and a two-deck-high inflatable water slide, with the broker describing her as a "family-orientated" vessel.

Charter cost: Northern Sun is managed for charter by Ocean Independence with a weekly charter rate starting from $161,700.

More about this yacht

Yachts for sale, yachts for charter.

60 metre Benetti motor yacht St David is the star of the tenth season of Below Deck, returning to the Caribbean with beloved Captain Lee. A finalist at the 2009 World Superyacht Awards , St David is a full-custom yacht with both interior and exterior design by British studio Winch Design .

She has made appearances at a number of high-profile events such as the Cannes Film Festival and has been spotted at various locations around the world including the Seychelles, Red Sea and Abu Dhabi. Accommodation is for 12 guests in six cabins, with a split-level master suite that lets in plenty of light.

A palatial theme characterises St David ’s social spaces, with features including a generous skylounge and a spiral staircase that leads through all three decks and is lit by a skylight in the spa pool of the sun deck. Elsewhere, St David has expansive water toy facilities and storage, including scuba dive gear, a new 7.2m tender, new Waverunners, and an electric foiling surfboard.

Charter cost: St David is managed by Morley Yachts with a weekly charter rate starting from €325,000.

The star of Below Deck Mediterranean season seven, 49.8 metre Home is the first “green” superyacht to appear on the show. Featuring a ground-breaking combination of a super-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form by Van Oossanen Naval Architects with power provided by a hybrid propulsion system, Home boasts reduced emissions and fuel costs for the eco-conscious charter guest.

Defined by a distinctive vertical bow and large expanses of glass, Home was penned by Omega Architects and launched by Heesen in 2017. Her interiors, designed by Cristiano Gatto in a modern “Ibiza style”, can accommodate up to 12 guests in six cabins including a full-beam master cabin with a dedicated dressing room and a private office. There is also room for nine members of Below Deck crew on board, including Captain Sandy who has returned to the helm for the seventh season while Home is cruising the coasts of Malta .

The main socialising spot is up on the sundeck, complete with a Jacuzzi and sit-up bar, a shaded lounge and protection from the elements provided by glass screens. Closer to the water, a beach club with an air-conditioned gym is situated next to the swimming platform from which guests can launch the water toys including SeaBobs, Hoverboards, E-foils, Jet Skis and a Flyboard. Home also carries gear for scuba diving, waterskiing and wakesurfing for guests to make the most of their time on board.

Charter cost: Home is managed for charter by Burgess with a weekly charter rate starting from $245,000.

Sailing under her own name around the South Pacific islands of French Polynesia on Below Deck’s sixth series, the 56.4 metre My Seanna (now Starship ) was built by Delta Marine in 2000 and refitted in 2014. The Glade-Johnson designed superyacht reappeared again for season eight, where she was filmed cruising in Antigua. She is now starring in the latest season of the show, season nine, following her recent sale .

Key features include an open air Jacuzzi surrounded by an al fresco drinks bar, a gym, a sauna room, a helipad and a spacious beach club complete with a lounge, flatscreen TV and a small galley for preparing snacks or drinks. Her opulent interiors can accommodate up to 12 guests and 11 crew and even offer a home cinema and piano for entertaining in the main saloon. There are multiple toys carried on board as well, including gear for diving and spearfishing, Seabobs and equipment for underwater filming.

“The thing that I really love about My Seanna is the spacious cabins” says Worth Avenue retail charter broker, Shannon McCoy, who has appeared on episodes of Below Deck . She describes My Seanna as a “well-appointed yacht with a good collection of toys for the guests to enjoy,” offering an excellent layout with a variety of spaces that allows charterers “to have breakfast in a different place every morning or enjoy dinner whether it's outside under the sun or in the formal dining area.”

Charter cost: Starship is managed for charter by Worldwide Boat with a weekly charter rate starting from $275,000.

Lady Michelle

Sailing under her real name, Lady Michelle was the star of the sixth series of Below Deck Mediterranean , which was the latest series from the Med spin off. The 54.8 metre Benetti superyacht is the second biggest yacht ever to feature on the show, following just behind the 56.2 metre motor yacht The Wellington from season five. During season six Lady Michelle hosted charter guests in Ibenik, Croatia with Captain Sandy behind the helm.

First delivered in 2003, Lady Michelle features accommodation for up to 14 guests including a split-level master suite with its own panoramic observation lounge. Her Stefano Natucci interiors offer indoor and al fresco dining spaces, an expansive sundeck with a hot tub and dedicated gym. There’s also a range of toys at the guests’ disposal, from Jet Skis and Seabobs to fishing gear and a waterslide.

Charter cost: Lady Michelle is managed by Burgess with a weekly charter rate starting from $325,000.

The Wellington

Actually named The Wellesley , this 56.2 metre Oceanco superyacht is owned by property magnate and hotelier Khalid Affara and named after his luxury art deco hotel in London. Delivered in 1993, The Wellesley features extended deck spaces and Donald Starkey -penned interiors that replicate the grandeur of the eponymous Knightsbridge hotel. Highlights on board include a waterfall jacuzzi, an outdoor cinema for movies under the stars and a unique private club-style lounge complete with a Winston Churchill inspired cigar room.

Describing why she makes an excellent charter yacht, James Graham-Cloete, director of charter management from TWW Yachts , says that The Wellesley is “ideal for entertaining family and friends, or hosting corporate events in utter privacy,” thanks to the fact that she “boasts some of the largest open deck spaces of any 56 metre on the water.” Graham-Cloete also adds that, on The Wellesley , “guests are invited to experience the same exceptional personal service, fine dining and attention to detail that has become synonymous with the hotel, on board a private superyacht,” while being looking after by her 14 crew members. “The crew have one of the lowest turnover rates in the industry and one of the best charter records, along with a full-time masseuse on board- making her the ultimate charter yacht!” says Graham-Cloete.

Charter cost: The Wellesley is managed by TWW Yachts with a weekly charter rate starting from €230,000.

Talisman Maiton

Built in 2006 by Turquoise Yachts , with a refit in 2012, the 54.2 metre Talisman Maiton sailed the coasts of Italy in the third series of Below Deck Mediterranean and was also captained by Sandy Yawn. Key features include a generous open plan sun deck with a forward-facing Jacuzzi and bar, al fresco dining spaces and a gym. Inside, she features six individually styled cabins for her 12 guests – including a master suite with its own private office – complemented by a sumptuous interior inspired by a combination of Asian and Art Deco influences. Her toy box is filled with snorkelling and fishing gear, Jet Skis and more for guests to enjoy while on board.

Charter cost: Talisman Maiton is managed by Burgess with a weekly charter rate starting from €273,000.

The 47 metre Heesen -built superyacht Sirocco took centre stage in both the second and fourth series of Below Deck Mediterranean and introduced captain Sandy Yawn, who has become a returning cast member on the show. Launched in 2006 with a refit in 2013, Sirocco features a dark blue hull and was designed inside and out by Omega Architects . She accommodates up to 12 guests and nine crew and offers charterers an eight person Jacuzzi, a gym, plenty of al fresco entertainment areas and a well-stocked toy box comprising Jet Skis, a waterslide and gear for wakeboarding or waterskiing. Worth Avenue retail charter broker Shannon McCoy describes Sirocco as a “very, very popular charter yacht” and with her fleet of water toys and pedigree Heesen design, provides “an excellent platform for a great time at sea.”

Charter cost: Sirocco is managed for charter by Worth Avenue with a weekly charter rate starting from €195,000.

Ionian Princess

Appropriately named for the first season of Below Deck Mediterranean , which was set in Greece, the 45.7 metre Christensen -built yacht was captained by Mark Howard during filming. Launched in 2005 and last refitted in 2016, Ionian Princess features a luxurious Greek-style inspired interior finished with high-gloss sapelle mahogany joinery and custom in-laid stonework throughout. Ionian Princess can host up to 12 guests in six cabins, including two master cabins, and also boasts plentiful dining options and a sundeck equipped with a hot tub and sunpads. She also comes with a fleet of water toys from waterskiing and wakeboarding kit to Jet Skis and kayaks. Thanks to her shallow draft, she can also access hard-to-reach hidden gems in the Mediterranean Sea that other larger yachts aren’t able to. “ Ionian Princess is ideally suited for cruising the Mediterranean, which is the most sought-after region for summer yacht charters,” says her management team at charter brokers Northrop & Johnson.

Charter cost: Ionian Princess is managed by Northrop & Johnson with a weekly charter rate starting from $175,000.

Parsifal III

Parsifal III has been the star of the sailing yacht spin off of Below Deck , captained by Glenn Shephard during filming. The 54 metre Perini Navi was launched in 2005 and was designed by Rémi Tessier . She was most recently refitted in 2020, and offers accommodation for a total of 12 guests and nine crew. Her design has seen her scoop a number of World Superyacht Awards and provides her with excellent performance capabilities at sea; when the weather is on your side, Parsifal III can hit speeds of up to 18 knots under sail. While at anchor, there is still plenty to keep guests entertained with a variety of al fresco and indoor dining spaces, a flybridge hot tub, gym equipment, a swimming platform and a fully-stocked toybox.

Charter cost: Parsifal III is managed for charter by Camper & Nicholsons with a weekly charter rate starting from €195,000.

Below Deck Med spoilers: Aesha saves the day and Gael calls out Joe

Below Deck Med spoilers reveal the Mustique crew scrambles as a storm impacts the yacht and the charter.

There’s plenty of crew drama going on, too, thanks to Joe Bradley and his womanizing ways.

In the latest preview video, things pick up right where they left off, with Captain Sandy Yawn dealing with a leak and Chief Stew Aesha Scott venturing to a winery with the new group of guests.

The streets become so flooded that the guests inform Nathan Gallagher and Aesha that they want to return to the yacht.

Meanwhile, Bosun Iain Maclean and the engineers work to fix the leak, especially in the forward cabin.

“We just can’t catch a break,” Captain Sandy expressed.

The good thing is she’s about to get a break, thanks to her amazing chief stew.

Aesha Scott steps up on Below Deck Med

In the footage, Aesha scrambles to give the guests an impromptu wine tasting on the boat.

Lucky for her, these guests are easy to please and understand the weather can’t be helped. They are nothing like the last guests, Mahisha Dellinger and Neysla Paltsev.

Aesha gets the guests involved as they pick a wine as she reads various details about each bottle. It certainly isn’t what the guests asked for, but Aesha brings a smile to all their faces.

Captain Sandy walks through to see the fun everyone is having. The captain gives Aesha mad props for her skills, and the chief stew deserves every ounce of praise.

Below Deck Med’s Joe Bradley gets an earful from Gael Cameron

Deckhand Joe Bradley has been causing problems since day one of Season 9 of Below Deck Med. Bri Muller and Elena “Ellie” Dubaich have clashed over him, causing work and personal tension.

Although Gael Cameron tried to take a back seat to Joe’s drama because she works with him on deck, she speaks her mind after the crew night out. They have a chat in the crew mess where Joe insists he’s done with both women.

Joe defends his actions regarding canceling his date with Ellie before asking for Gael’s opinion on his situation. Gael doesn’t hold back, calling out Joe for leading on Bri and Ellie, but does it with class, not anger or accusations.

Via her confessional, though, Gael blasts Joe for not caring about either stew. She accuses Joe of trying to get what he wants from whoever and places the blame on the women.

“I am just questioning if the good guy act is an act?” Gael expressed in her confessional.

Below Deck Med fans are not buying Joe’s act, that’s for sure. The deckhand was dragged for his behavior in the most recent episode , flirting with Ellie and then having a little bathroom hook-up with Bri.

Speaking of the hook-up, as Monsters and Critics previously reported, Joe and Bri set the record straight on what really happened in the bathroom stall.

Only a few episodes of Below Deck Med Season 9 are left, so be sure to tune in to see how it all ends.

Below Deck Med airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo. Seasons 1-9 are streaming on Peacock.

Morgan Stanley Chief Jonathan Bloomer Also On Sunken Bayesian Yacht With Michael Lynch

The chairman of Morgan Stanley International was reportedly among the six missing people—including UK tech mogul Michael Lynch— after the 184-foot luxury sailing yacht Bayesian sank in rough seas near Sicily early Monday morning, according to new reports.

Italian emergency services headed out to sea towards the area off the Sicilian coast on Tuesday, ... [+] Aug. 20, 2024.

Lynch , a British tech entrepreneur and one-time billionaire, and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah Lynch are confirmed to be among those still missing after the ship sank (his wife, Angela Bacares, was rescued).

Jonathan Bloomer, chairman of the Morgan Stanley International bank and insurance company Hiscox, is also reportedly among the missing along with his wife, Judy.

Authorities on Monday told the BBC the missing people are presumed to still be inside the boat, and rescue operations resumed Tuesday morning.

The vessel had 22 people on board — 10 crew and 12 passengers — including people from the United States, Britain and Canada, when it overturned at around 5 a.m. Monday, according to the Italian coast guard.

Fifteen people were rescued from the vessel (including a 1-year-old girl), one person was found dead and six, including two Americans , remain missing, according to multiple reports.

Local media reported the person who died was a member of the crew, thought to be the yacht’s chef .

Who Are The Missing People Aboard The Bayesian Yacht?

Lynch, 59, and his daughter were the first to be reported as among the missing. Lynch's lawyer Chris Morvillo, a former assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, has also not been found, nor has his wife and jewelry designer Neda Morvillo. Bloomer, 70, a close friend of Lynch's, is also missing along with his wife, Judy.

Key Background

The Bayesian was anchored near the port of Porticello overnight Sunday when a harsh storm hit the coast that included a " waterspout ," a tornado-like swirling column of air and water. The ship tipped over and quickly was drug underwater by its massive mast —it had the tallest aluminum mast in the world at 246 feet. Of the 15 people rescued in the aftermath, eight were treated at a local hospital.

Lynch was acquitted in a fraud trial in June after he was accused by Hewlett-Packard of artificially inflating the value of Autonomy before HP bought it for more than $11 billion in 2011. HP wrote off $8.8 million of Autonomy's value within a year of buying the company. Today, The Times estimates Lynch has a net worth of £500 million. He "had a lot of pride" in his yacht, a member of his staff told the U.K. paper, and business filings show the boat is legally owned by his wife, Bacares.

Surprising Fact: Lynch's Co-Defendant Stephen Chamberlain Died The Same Weekend

Stephen Chamberlain, who was acquitted in the same trial as Lynch in June, died hours after news broke of Lynch's disappearance. Chamberlain was hit by a car while jogging in England on Saturday morning and was put on life support before his death was announced late Monday, the Guardian reported . Lynch and Chamberlain were both indicted for conspiracy and wire fraud in the sale of Autonomy to HP before being acquitted.

What To Watch For

An ongoing search operation includes divers attempting to search the vessel, now sitting 160 feet below sea level, as well as rescue boats and helicopters, according to CNN .

$215,000. That's the cost to charter the Bayesian, a single-mast sailing vessel, for one week .

Crucial Quote

“She told me that while they were sleeping, at a certain point the yacht overturned due to the tornado, and they found themselves in the water,” Dr. Domenico Cipolla, head of the emergency room at the pediatric hospital in Palermo, Italy, told The Times . “Some of them immediately managed to get onto the lifeboat. And some, evidently, didn’t make it.”

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Below deck mediterranean season 9 shows captain sandy’s selfish side (she’s inconsiderate), i’m convinced below deck mediterranean’s johnathan shillingford is a producer plant.

  • Jason Gaskell's laid-back demeanor led to tension with the crew, resulting in his departure from Below Deck Mediterranean season 7.
  • Since leaving the show, Jason has remained private on social media and it's unclear if he still works in yachting.
  • Jason, who had a finance background, left corporate life for sailing, but his experience on reality TV wasn't the right fit.

Jason Gaskell was a deckhand on Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, but what has he been up to since leaving the hit Bravo series? The deckhand's journey on the show was quite eventful, characterized by his laid-back demeanor, which sometimes led to tension with the rest of the crew, including standout Bosun Storm Smith , who replaced Raygan Tyler. Jason openly struggled with the high-pressure environment and often found himself at odds with Storm, eventually leading to Jason's departure from the boat. He was replaced by deckhand Reid Jenkins . What has he been up to since?

While Jason's departure caused some drama in season 7, the Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 crew has endured their fair share of issues in the current charter season. With Bri Muller and Elena "Ellie" Dubaich's ongoing feud and Iain Maclean's incompetence as a bosun, Captain Sandy Yawn has faced accusations of poor performance. While Chef Jono Shillingford stepped up in recent charters, the latest guests tested everyone, even Chief Stew Aesha Scott. Jason hasn't returned to the franchise, but there's still curiosity about his whereabouts after the show.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Jason's Instagram Is On Private

Since his impromptu departure from Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, Jason has gone off the grid regarding social media . He used to post photos revealing his love of travel, including sneak peeks of behind-the-scenes shots from filming in Malta. However, he has eschewed the spotlight since quitting, wanting to leave Bravo and Below Deck behind him. Jason was thrilled to join the crew for Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 and never anticipated quitting. According to Bravo , Jason explained:

" Sometimes, it just doesn't click, and it's just not clicking ."

Jason Hasn't Revealed If He Still Works In Yachting

Jason has remained pretty quiet since leaving Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, so it's unclear if he still works in yachting. However, his career history before getting hired as a crew member on the season was a little different from most yachties in the field. According to Bravo , Before joining Below Deck Mediterranean , Jason Gaskell had a career in finance , specifically in commodities trading.

Jason had a career shift before his stint on Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, first working in finance before leaving corporate life behind.

Jason worked in the finance industry for about ten years but eventually became disillusioned with the corporate world. However, he developed a passion for travel and sailing, which led him to leave his corporate job and pursue a new life of adventure on the water. After leaving finance, Jason became a skipper on a sailboat and gained experience working as an apprentice, deckhand, and eventually a captain for various companies. He might still be yachting, but he realized reality TV and the spotlight weren't the right places for him.

Jason's Journey On Below Deck Med

Jason's short time on the show was marked by struggles with fitting in and finding his place aboard the superyacht Home , ultimately leading to his departure. From early on, Jason had difficulty meshing with his fellow crew members, particularly after the original bosun, Raygan, was replaced by Storm. Despite Storm's attempts to lead the team, he and Jason never got along, with Captain Sandy commenting:

" Sometimes people just don’t gel. "

After this revelation, Jason ultimately decided to leave the yacht , feeling that he wasn't a good fit for the team and that his personality didn't align with the group's dynamic. Home wasn't the boat for him, which was a sentiment echoed during his final discussions with Captain Sandy. She attempted to keep him on for one last charter, but Jason chose to leave, acknowledging that staying would be detrimental to both him and the crew. " If I'm that much of a f***ing cancer to a situation, f***ing end it for me, " he explained in a confessional.

Would Jason Ever Return To Below Deck Med?

Jason hasn't explicitly stated whether he would return to Below Deck Mediterranean, but it's unlikely, given his privacy since quitting the show midseason. His experience on the show was challenging, particularly with the pressures and conflicts he faced under Storm as bosun. Given his difficult journey and early departure, Captain Sandy might not want Jason back aboard the Mustique in future seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean . However, circumstances can change, and cast members sometimes return after learning and growing from the past.

Jason was a short-lived cast member on Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, but he took the opportunity to quit rather than continue to cause problems among the deckhands aboard the super yacht Home. Captain Sandy is adept at mitigating conflicts, but she's a little too careful with firing crew members. Jason knew he was a detriment to the crew, and he rightfully chose to leave. While it's unclear what he's up to after Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, hopefully, he's found the right place for him.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.
