We had our wedding in May at the GGYC and it was fantastic. This was a such a special venue directly located on the Bay with amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, Alcatraz from the dining tables and dance floor and views of the city from the bar and outdoor decks. The venue was kept spotlessly clean and was just the right size for our 95 person wedding. We loved our venue, as did our guests, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, classy venue with top-notch views.

We couldn't find this club immediately since it was at the end of the marina. We stumbled into SF Yacht Club asking for directions and my friend was candidly asking the receptionist if GG Yacht club is nicer than SF Yacht Club and the girl responded with a resounding, of course not. Anyways, SF Yacht Club is the premier, she-she, most exclusive, prime Yacht Club in SF. The yachts docked there are gazillion dollars. Anyway, the friendly receptionist of SF Yacht Club pointed us to the end of the pier where GG Yacht Club is located. The yacht club was definitely more plain and had simple decor. SOMA magazine hosted the Trenton shoe event here highlighting their footwear with free drinks and appetizers from Pesce...it wasn't bad...though there were no signs to this club and it was very difficult to find with very low lighting in the area.

We had our July 26 wedding here at GGYC. It was great! Working with Bob, the general manager was so easy. He is very helpful and calming. The caterers they work with are great too. We went with Union Street Catering and couldn't of been happier! The yacht club has amazing views and the venue is beautiful. Our friends and family were so amazed and impressed. I highly recommend this venue for any wedding or special event!

We had our son's rehearsal dinner here in early November and it was fantastic! Bob and Chloe were so helpful, flexible, and incredibly nice to work with. The venue is such a great space with an incredible view of the bridge, bay, marina, and the city. The evening lighting in the room is soft and the fireplace was going to give the evening such a comfortable and cozy feel. Great decks off the main room and bar. They did an amazing job updating the Club a few years ago. The full bar, kitchen for catering, supplies needed for an event, and the AV equipment were put to good use that night. Aaron Jonas Catering delivered a great reception and meal. I hope to post pictures of our event at the GGYC soon.

Everyone was friendly. The food was OK. If there was no fog that day, the views would be amazing.

The GGYC is a beautiful venue with a spectacular view of the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. In addition, the venue manager, Bob, and his staff are superb. As an event coordinator, a venue with a great team in place is invaluable, and that's what Bob has: a team dynamic that is priceless. I highly recommend GGYC for your private event and wedding venue needs and I personally hope to have the opportunity to work with them repeatedly in the future.

Enjoyed a very fun and entertaining "Thirsty Thursday" at the GGYC this week and suggest others come in June. Great music and people were very fun. Each month they do another type of liquor - last night was Don Jose tequila- need I say more. Music is down tempo lounge by Lucky Dragon - at least that is who has been the go to DJ this year. I hear they have a really great sailing program there too with Modern Sailing School out of Marin. Members get great discounts on boats for charter and they offer lessons to those new to the sport. Bar staff friendly and accommodating. Great place for a sunset, cozy fireplace, glass of wine with friends. Still private club however, so you need to know someone to get in - so go meet someone and get in.

When researching a reception venue for our wedding, I used multiple sources and stumbled across the Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC) through one of the local wedding search websites. I liked the description of the venue but was a little put off by the photos that were available on-line. However, after visiting the venue with my fiancee on a Sunday afternoon, we were blown away by the Commodore Room. It has these wonderful expansive views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridget and we immediately fell in love with it. Bob Mulhern, the general manager, sat and answered all of our questions, even though our wedding was over a year away. He was very friendly and of all the places we looked at, he was the most attentive/responsive manager that we dealt with. We just had our wedding two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier in how everything turned out! We're still getting compliments from our guests about how much fun they had. Great venue for a party with lots of out-of-town guests!!

We had our wedding reception at the GGYC last October, and I can't say enough good things about the club and staff! First off, Bob is amazing. He was so helpful every step of the way, and so attentive on the day of. They don't provide the catering, so we hired an outside company. But you would never know that they weren't connected, as the catering and venue staff worked seamlessly together. The day went off beautifully, and we got so many compliments on how wonderful the venue was. It was the perfect spot for our perfect day!

Founded in 1939 as the Puerto de Oro Yacht Club (Port of the Golden Harbor). Our founding fathers started the club as a foundation to promote both water sports and affordable boating to our local community. This has remained our mainstay and is one of the focal points of our Club adding to our reputation of being the “Friendliest Club on the Bay” and allows for camaraderie with fellow sailors from around the Bay and beyond.

The Golden Gate Yacht Club is a fully functional yacht club with a full-time staff and nearly three hundred members. The Golden Gate Yacht Club welcomes non boaters, sail and power boaters and their crew to its membership ranks. Membership in the GGYC also affords reciprocal rights to the City Club of San Francisco, University Club and Marine’s Memorial as well as most yacht clubs worldwide.

Members enjoy social activities such as Opening Day on the Bay, our renowned Lobster Feed, Fleet Week Bar-b-Que (best view on the Bay to see the Fleet arrive and watch the Blue Angels perform), Bunny and Santa-by-Boat Brunches, San Francisco Firemen’s Toy Drive for Under Privileged Children, New Year’s Day Brunch and other themed events.

On the water, Members enjoy recreational sailing on the club’s fleet and our regatta schedule provides many racing opportunities.

The GGYC also offers bar and dining service with dazzling views of San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and Marin.

The Golden Gate Yacht Club is currently accepting applications. The club has various classes of membership, including Regular, Associate and Corinthian. GGYC is a member club of the Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association (PICYA). Club members enjoy reciprocal visiting privileges with most recognized yacht clubs in the world.

Applicants for membership to the Club shall not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, age, ancestry, national origin, sex, political affiliation, sexual orientation, disability or any other grounds prohibited by law.
