They all seem to have good reps in terms of quality of build. Mine is known as a 508 pilothouse and there are interesting rumors about the design being stolen from a Finnish builder along with a reputed lawsuit and very few made.
Cooper pilothouses (353 & 316) | SailNet Community
Build quality isaverage, far as I can tell, very little anecdotal stories of problems, but they are on the rare side. Non-pilothouse versions were produced under the "Banner" name, and for a short time US yachts had the molds and produced their own versions as the US 35 and US 42.
Thoughts - 1983 Banner 37 built by Cooper - Cruisers ...

Quality of Cooper Prowler 42 with DD 8.2 engines ...
The quality of the boat, hull, furniture, etc. isoutstanding. The hull is massively thick (which I confirmed a few months ago when installing a through-hull) and solid. The boat handles far better than any in this size range I've ever operated.
COOPER 353 - sailboatdata
Designed to determine if a boat has blue water capability. The CSF compares beam with displacement since excess beam contributes to capsize and heavy displacement reduces capsize vulnerability. The boat is better suited for ocean passages (vs coastal cruising) if the result of the calculation is 2.0 or less. The lower the better.

How are Sabres higher quality? | Sailboat Owners Forums
I always read that Sabres are "higher quality/betterbuilt" that e.g. a Catalina 30 (your standard family cruising boat..). But in what way? They certainly cost more, but I'm somewhat trying to convince myself they're worth it.
