A General Description of Motor Yacht MARTHA ANN

This motor yacht MARTHA ANN is a 70 metre 230 (foot) prominent steel vessel which was produced by Lurssen Yachts and devised by Lurssen and Espen Oeino. Sleeping 12 guests and 17 qualified crew, motor yacht MARTHA ANN used to be called (Project Shark) as her project name or actual name. Launched in 2007 her reasonably recent interior design and decor showcases the perspicacious talents from Zuretti Interior Design and their approach to interior yacht design.

MARTHA ANN is one of a series of three sisterships, all designed by Espen Øino for the same American owner. He sold the first two Apoise (2006) and St. Nicolas (2007) before completion and kept MARTHA ANN for himself. Superacht MARTHA ANN boasts six decks, a glass elevator in the lobby, a huge sports bar and gym, a large Spa Pool a 1,400 square foot master suite and numerous guest rooms to name a few of her impressive features.

The Building & Yacht Design for Luxury Yacht MARTHA ANN

Lurssen was the naval architect firm involved in the technical superyacht composition for MARTHA ANN. Her interior design was completed by Zuretti Interior Design. Lurssen and Espen Oeino is also associated with the yacht wider design collaboration for this boat. Germany is the country that Lurssen Yachts constructed their new build motor yacht in. After formal launch in 2007 in Rendsburg the boat was delivered on to the happy owner after sea trials. A sizeable feeling is brought about with a maximum beam (width) of 12.8 metres or 41.1 ft. With a 3.5m (11.48ft) draught (maximum depth) she is deep. The material steel was used in the building of the hull of the motor yacht. Her superstructure above deck is built from aluminium.

M/Y MARTHA ANN Engineering Figures / Range & Speed:

Fitted with two CATERPILLAR diesel engines, MARTHA ANN will attain a maximum speed of 15.5 knots. Her propulsion units are twin screw propellers. She also has an efficient range of 4000 miles when motoring at her cruising speed of 14 knots. Her total HP is 3000 HP and her total Kilowatts are 2238. With respect to the ship’s stabalisers she utilises At Anchor Systems.

$10 million price reduction on Lürssen's 70m Martha Ann

In a reaction to the €38 million price reduction on lürssen’s 78.4m tv, martha ann has also undergone a significant price reduction.….

After news last week that Lürssen’s 78.4m TV had undergone a €38 million price reduction during a central agency change, another of Lürssen’s builds, Martha Ann , has just been reduced in price by $10 million at IYC.

“The 70m market has not been strong recently and we needed to maintain a pricing separation between the Lürssen listings”, began Frank Grzeszczak. “ TV is close in age and she is a bigger boat with a larger gross tonnage, so having them priced closely wasn’t logical. The market dictates the value, so the owner and I decided to make a move to keep it competitive.”

The current owner built three Lürssens at the same time – 70.8m Titania , 70.2m Saint Nicolas and 70.2m Martha Ann – having already sold the other two.

70m Martha Ann

Martha Ann , currently in Italy, was originally listed for sale at $110 million just prior to the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show, which she attended, and is now for sale at $79 million – 65.8 per cent of her original asking price after 10 months on the market.

Martha Ann was delivered by Lürssen from its Rendsburg facility in 2008. She was constructed with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure and boasts six large decks. Her gross tonnage of 1,940gt is typical of Lürssen’s build style and allows the owner to enjoy an interior volume that is more than 20 per cent higher than the average 70m build on the water.

The exterior work was carried out by Monaco-based Espen Øino, whose eye for detail has resulted in a number of notable superyacht projects, including Al Said , Ocean Victory , Serene and Kismet . The interior design is the product of French designer Zuretti, known for a range of bespoke projects that are as diverse as they are high calibre.

“Building this yacht from scratch, you have to factor in the wait time for a slot with Lürssen, a €130 million-plus build cost and a four-year build time. I’m confident now that Martha Ann is at a price point where she will sell. Everything worldwide is price-driven right now. At a price, all three of these boats ( TV, Northern Star and Martha Ann ) will sell, it’s just a matter of when and at what price range", concluded Grzeszczak. 

TV, Northern Star and Martha Ann – all built in 2008 or 2009 and between 70–80m – came onto the market with asking prices upwards of $110 million each. Now Northern Star is for sale at €99.95 million, TV is for sale at €92 million and Martha Ann is for sale at $79 million. The yachts have accrued €95.01 million in price reductions between them since coming onto the market, with €47.02 million actioned last week.

Lürssen motor yacht Martha Ann now for sale with Burgess and IYC

The 70.2 metre superyacht Martha Ann has had a central agency change and is now jointly listed for sale with Burgess and IYC.

Built in steel and aluminium by German yard Lürssen  to a design by Espen Øino , Martha Ann was delivered in 2008 and refitted in 2014. Lloyds classed and MCA compliant, she has a spectacular interior by Francois Zuretti accommodating 12 guests in six cabins consisting of a full beam master suite on the main deck with a private lounge including a wet bar, a VIP suite on the upper deck and four doubles below, all with king sized beds, entertainment systems including flat screen televisions and full en suite facilities.

The main saloon has a wet bar with three bar stools forward and is divided into two conversation areas including an L-shaped settee to port plus an armchair and occasional table while there is a baby grand player piano aft. To starboard are two sofas arranged in a U-shape and two arm chairs. Entertainment comes from a 110 inch home theatre projection screen drawing on the yacht’s Kaleidescape on demand visual and audio server. Forward is a dining area seating up to 14 guests that can be fully enclosed for privacy.

The main aft deck of this yacht for sale is ideal for al fresco dining with two U-shaped seating areas facing each other across four occasional tables, allowing space for up to 14 guests. Meanwhile, the bridge aft deck has full width built in seating and a dining table for 14 guests, a wet bar with five stools and a large flat screen television.

Other features include a sports deck with a gym and a glass elevator connecting all decks. Twin 2,010hp Caterpillar engines give Martha Ann a range of 6,000 nautical miles and she is fitted with zero speed stabilisers.

On display at the forthcoming Monaco Yacht Show, Martha Ann is asking $79,000,000.
