Why Choose a Catamaran Charter?

If you’re looking for a San Diego yacht rental, you have options; we aren’t going to pretend to be the only boat in the bay. But, if you have ever experienced a sail on a cat, you’ll know why we are a bit biased.

Catamarans offer much more space than monohull boats making them the perfect choice for groups; on a catamaran there really is no bad seat.

Catamarans also offer more stability with less rocking back and forth than monohull boats, which can help with seasickness.

Thanks to their shallow draft, catamarans can access areas of the bay too shallow for most boats.

Triton is the largest catamaran in The Big Bay and one of the only options in San Diego if you are looking for a private catamaran charter that can hold up to 100 people.

Triton catamaran made her maiden voyage to San Diego in August 1st 2020. She is a brand new, GC70, 75 ft day charter catamaran that boasts capacity for 100 passengers and a large deck with outdoor seating.

How Much Does it Cost to Rent a Yacht in San Diego?

Pricing depends on the number of guests in your party. Typically the pricing structure works as follows:

$825/hr Weekdays and $975/hr on Weekends for up to 40 guests

$1,000/hr Weekdays and $1,150/hr on Weekends for up to 50 guests

$1250/hr Weekdays and $1,400/hr on Weekends for up to 60 guests

$1500/hr Weekdays and $1,650/hr on Weekends for up to 70 guests

$1750/hr Weekdays and $1,900/hr on Weekends for up to 80 guests

$2,000/hr Weekdays and $2,150/hr on Weekends for up to 90 guests

$2,250/hr Weekdays and $2,400/hr on Weekends for up to 100 guests

Where to Park and What to Bring

Parking Directions : Please click HERE  for the map of where to park. For free parking, please park in the rear of the parking lot as there is no meters. We do not have assigned parking, so please be sure to come at least 30 minutes early.

Walking Directions : Once parked, please click HERE for walking directions. You must arrive AT LEAST 30 MINUTES prior to your charter time. Please fill out your waivers and be prepared to present your waiver via QR code, and have your ID handy before you arrive.

General FAQ

Where are you located?

Triton is located at 2700 Shelter Island Dr. San Diego CA 92101 on the commercial dock next to Sail San Diego. Watch our Pre-Boarding video to help with parking!

What are your COVID Guidelines?

We are committed to the safety of our customers and our staff. We follow CDC recommendations on the state level as well as the county recommendations. Since our venue is outdoors, customers are not required to wear a mask. Triton is sanitized before, during, and after every charter with hand sanitizer available for guests.

What comes standard with each charter?

Triton includes a captain, crew, bartender, waterslide (for private charters), dance floor, seating for up to 100 guests, 2 restrooms, and modern decor! 

Can we film our experience?

 Drone Filming

Filming/bringing a drone for your charter is prohibited. Triton’s location is an ever-changing “no fly zone” with only very few locations able to actually take-off with a drone. We do offer drone filming services where our experienced pilots will communicate with our captain to get the shot that you need. Please inquire for cost.

DSLR/Production Filming

Bringing professional filming equipment on-board must be approved with our administrative team.  Triton Charters must be added as “additionally insured” on your insurance policy. Filming with intent to distribute is prohibited on Triton without prior approval. Cell phone videos/pictures are encouraged! 

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Private Charters – Triton Management LLC requires all cancellations be made 14 days prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund. Cancellation within 14 days of the charter will forfeit their deposit. Any cancellations made within 72 hours before the charter will forfeit the full amount of the contracted services and are non-refundable.

Ticketed Charters –

Ticketed Charters – Tickets are 100% refundable if canceled at least 24 hours prior to the charter’s departure time. Triton Charters may cancel ticketed charters anytime for any reason in which case, our customers will receive a full refund.

WEATHER POLICY

Triton Charters does not operate in unsafe weather conditions, but a light rain shower is not a deterrent. The captain will assess the weather and should the captain determine that the conditions are unsafe to run the charter, the charter may be rescheduled or it will be canceled.

If a trip is canceled by Triton Charters for any reason, you will have the option of receiving a voucher for a future trip or receiving a full refund.

Please note that failure to show for the reserved trip without cancellation will result in no refund

**Triton Charters reserves the right to change/alter our cancellation and refund policy as needed based on availability, or any circumstances deemed necessary. 

Is there a deposit?

The deposit for Private Charters is 10% of the total cost. This must be paid upon booking and the remaining amount is due 72 hours before your charter date.

How is my price determined?

Triton has unique pricing structure allows our customers to get the best deal possible for a private experience. The pricing is as follows:

41-50 Passengers – $1,000/hr

51-60 Passengers – $1,250/ hr

61-70 Passengers  – $1,500/hr

71-80 Passengers – $1,750/hr

Each charter must pay a 10% deposit upon booking. 

What's the max capacity and seating?

The maximum occupancy of triton yacht rental San Diego is 100 passengers. With comfortable seating for everyone. Seating includes our 13-seat bar, leather bean bags, and bench seating. During COVID-19 our capacity may change.

What does the yacht rental include?

We’ve thought of everything, so you don’t have to. Included in your charter is our USCG certified captain and crew, 13-seat bar, bartender, space for 100 guests, 2 bathrooms, built-in waterslide, professional sound system, covered dance floor, 55″ flatscreen tv, lifejackets, all on the largest and newest catamaran charter in San Diego. Alcoholic beverages are also for sale at our 13-seat custom bar.

Where does the yacht charter go?

Each charter is unique. Guests will enjoy the ability to “point and go” allowing you to go wherever you’d like. Typically charters will do a tour around San Diego Bay where you will pass many of San Diego’s monuments and sights. You also have the ability to go for an ocean sail and enjoy the amazing views of Coronado and Point Loma.

What about food and drinks?

Each Private Charter includes a bartender that will serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We have a fully stocked bar with the same amenities as a normal venue including draft beer, craft cocktails, mixed drinks, wine, juices, sparkling water, and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests are prohibited from bringing any alcoholic beverages onboard. 

You are more than welcome to bring your own food on-board. If you decide to bring your own food, we suggest finger foods that are easily served and disposed of. If you plan on catering your event, you must have the venue list Triton Charters on the ‘additionally insured business’ on their insurance. For more information, please call us at 844-5-TRITON.

How much are the tickets?

Tickets are $55 for adults and $15 for children. Tickets do not include drinks, or food.

Where does the cruise take us?

San diego harbor cruises , take in the beauty of san diego bay on the brand new triton catamaran.

A visit to America’s finest city isn’t complete until you spend some time enjoying the San Diego Harbor. There is no better way to do that than aboard a luxury catamaran harbor cruise. Bring your family, your friends, your co-workers or come solo and experience the gorgeous San Diego Harbor views.

You’ll get beautiful shots of the downtown San Diego skyline and travel under the Coronado Bay Bridge in luxurious comfort. You’ll likely meet some of San Diego’s most beloved friends, the seals and sea lions who like to sunbathe on the docks. If you’re lucky, you might even catch sight of a dolphin or two swimming alongside Triton.

Notable Landmarks and Sites We’ll See 

As you soak in the sun, we’ll sail past some of San Diego’s most spectacular coastal sites introducing (or reacquainting) you with the:

• USS Midway Aircraft Carrier – The USS Midway was commissioned one week after the end of World War II, was the largest ship in the world until 1955, and was the longest-serving aircraft carrier in the 20th century. The Midway was so large it could carry 120 planes on its armored flight deck and was the first aircraft carrier unable to cruise the Panama Canal due to its sheer size. While you are visiting San Diego, be sure to check out the USS Midway Museum  to learn more about this iconic ship. 
• Star of India –   Star of India is the world’s oldest active sailing ship. She is an iron ship with a long and storied past that includes collisions, mutiny and cyclones. She worked as a cargo ship and then spent half a century bringing emigrants to New Zealand. You can tour the Star of India at the  Maritime Museum of San Diego. 
• North Island Military Base –   Dubbed the official birthplace of aviation, the North Island Military Base is an active military base home to two aircraft carriers and 23 fixed and rotary wing squadrons.
• Cabrillo National Museum – T he Cabrillo National Monument and museum mark the location where the first European set foot on the western US. There is a lot to take in at Cabrillo park including the Old Point Loma Lighthouse and the rocky intertidal zone. 
• Hotel del Coronado –   The Hotel Del  is a historic beachfront luxury hotel situated in the city of Coronado, just over the bridge from downtown San Diego. It opened in 1888 as the largest resort hotel in the world and today is the second-largest wooden structure in the US. If you are visiting San Diego, it is definitely worth spending a couple of hours at The Del — grab lunch or stroll the pristine beach.

What is the ticket schedule?

To see our live calendar, please visit our ticketed charter page. Our ticketed charter times change based upon the season. From March 17th – November 3rd, our ticketed cruise depart Wednesday-Sunday at 11am, 2:30pm, and 6pm. November 4th – March 9th our schedule is Wednesday-Sunday at 10am, 1pm, nd 4:30pm. Each charter is 2.5 hours and will take you on an epic adventure through San Diego Bay, down to Glorietta Bay and back! Triton may change/update/add or remove dates upon our descretion. 

How long is the cruise?

Each ticketed charter is 2.5 hours in duration.

Triton is equipped with a full bar including: mixed drinks, draft beer, specialty cocktails, soft drinks, juices and sparkling water. Passengers are strictly prohibited from bringing their own beverages. 

Prices are $8.50 for draft beer, $10.50 for mixed drinks, and $13.00 for specialty cocktails. You may bring your own food that is individually packed, ie: No cakes, or foods that require serving utensils.

What types of payment do you accept?

We take all majorly accepted credit/debit cards. We do not accept cash or checks. 

What is the deposit for Private Charters?

All private charters are required to pay a 10% deposit to secure their booking. If the charter is within one week of the reservation, the charter must be fully paid.

Private Charters – Triton Management LLC requires all cancellations to be made 14 days prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund. Cancellation within 14 days of the charter will forfeit their deposit. Any cancellations made within 72 hours before the charter will forfeit the full amount of the contracted services and are non-refundable.

Ticketed Charters – You must contact us more than 24 hours before your charter to reschedule or to cancel your ticket. If you cancel within 24 hours of your charter or are late/no-show,  you may reschedule without a fee. If you wish to get a refund and cancelled/no-showed within 24 hours of your charter, you will be charged a 20% cancellation fee. Triton Charters may cancel ticketed charters anytime for any reason in which our customers will receive a full refund.

Christened in 1934

The Cloudia is a beautifully restored, rare example of a classic Norwegian double ended ketch. Inspired by the original designs of famed naval architect Colin Archer (1832-1921), from Larvik, Norway, the Cloudia is a Listerskøyte. The top-sail ketch is notable for durability and safety. Archer’s shipyard designed and constructed the famed  Fram,  which participated in a number of expeditions to the North Pole and later supported Roald Amundsen’s historic first expedition to the South Pole.

Archer’s designs became popular for commercial use and in the pleasure sailing market during the 20th Century, and remain so to this day. 

Welcome to SailCloudia

The Cloudia is rigged as a topsail ketch in the British or American style, which means there are 2 two-piece masts which allow the Cloudia to carry more sail than a traditional Norwegian rig with shorter single masts. The Cloudia’s main mast is 85 feet high including the top-jack.

Many different woods were used to craft the ship, including Norwegian white oak, sapele hardwood, Douglas fir, Alaskan yellow cedar, and Ipe Brazilian hardwood. 

The pilot house is fully equipped with modern maritime electronics, including state of the art radar and navigation systems.

We offer several catering and custom drink options for your convenience. You are also welcome to bring your own food and beverages aboard for an additional $100 clean-up fee. Let us know how we can help..

Whether you’re looking for the ultimate bachelorette party idea, celebrating a new job with friends, or even hosting your wedding on the water a yacht will give you the wow effect you’re looking for.

There are over a dozen San Diego yacht rental companies to choose from, so we’ve decided to make it easy and break down the top five. Make it a summer, spring or fall to remember by booking from our list of the best charter companies in town. Let’s get started.

#1) Triton Charters

Triton Charters is home to the largest catamaran yacht in all of San Diego at a whopping 75 feet long, and also the top-rated. Although the Triton has only been here for a couple of years it’s made a huge splash on the San Diego yacht rental scene.

It’s 75 feet of pure fun and has already amassed over 135 5 star reviews on Google and 75 reviews on Yelp with a 4.5 star rating. Looking deeper at the Triton will give you a good understanding of why it’s become the most popular yacht charter in San Diego.

It has a 13-seat bar, extra-large dance floor, and an ultra modern design, with plenty of seating in the front and back to allow for large numbers of sunbathers. Their website provides its customers with a 3D Tour of the yacht as well!

Capacity: As the largest catamaran in SD, it comfortably fits up to 100 passengers, which makes it perfect for large events like weddings, vow renewals, corporate events, fundraisers and family reunions. Even if you don’t plan on hosting that many people, the sheer amount of loungeable space makes it a good choice for smaller groups.

Add-Ons: With most SD yacht charter companies in San Diego Bay you’re stuck with the basics. Bartender, local catering and that’s about it. Not with the Triton. The Triton offers a number of adrenaline-inducing add-ons that make it the best party yacht in San Diego. You can choose from low key options like ocean kayaks, paddle boards, and lily pads to splash and sunbathe on.

For the adrenaline junkies they also offer a number of thrilling add-ons like high powered jet skis, electric surfboards and jetpacks. The jetpacks can get up to 35 feet in the air, giving you spectacular views of the bay and city, but for first timers they’ll recommend maxing out around 20 feet.

Triton Charters also has great relationships with local music talent if you’re looking for live music  to play your wedding reception, or be serenaded after you pop the question on an engagement cruise. Of course, they have friendly bartenders, djs and local catering for a true party environment.

Pricing: Booking a San Diego yacht rental can be on the pricey side, but Triton is relatively cost effective when considering some of the other options on the water. For up to 40 guests on a 4 hour cruise you’re looking at around $3,300 before add-ons. Other providers can cost over $10,000 for the same experience without add-ons.

–       Least restrictive deposit policy.

–       Hundreds of 5 star reviews.

#2) Malarky Charters

If you’re looking for something a little smaller your best bet is the Malarky which has been around for over 5 years. It’s a little more than half the size of the Triton, and only fits 12 people which is fine if you’re hosting a smaller gathering.

Like the Triton, it has an indoor lounge that’s a little smaller but comfortable enough for 12 people to take a break from the sun if needed.

Since it made its way to San Diego, it’s been very well received. It’s accumulated 135 5 star reviews on Tripadvisor, 76 5 star reviews on Google and a perfect 5 star rating on Yelp with 28 reviews.

Some of the key mentions in the reviews are that the staff are extremely friendly and experienced. They make every guest feel as though they’re family. As a small, family-owned business they really bring a superior level of customer service.

Capacity: The Malarky is 47 feet long, has a full kitchen, four bedrooms for rest, two bathrooms and plenty of space in the front and back of the catamaran for 12 people. The bow even has a trampoline if you’re feeling like attempting that backflip into the water on a hot day.

Add Ons: The Malarky yacht rental luckily has the same add on options as the Triton like jet skis, electric surfboards and famous jetpacks. Unfortunately, there isn’t a massive bar like on the Triton, so plan on a BYOB situation if you’re looking for a consistent supply of drinks during your trip.

Pricing: The pricing is more reasonable than the Triton, which makes it perfect for proposals, bachelorette/bachelor parties, small family gatherings or celebrations. For a 4 hour cruise through the bay with up to 12 guests you’ll be paying around $2,200. This is about $1,000 less than the Triton, and the Malarky tends to have special discounts occasionally.

–       All the exciting add on options that the Triton has.

–       Extremely friendly and accommodating crew.

–       Full kitchen for a cookout on the water.

–       Comfortable, shaded seating options in the front and back.

–       Spacious indoor lounge for eating and relaxing away from the sun.

–       Pricing is more reasonable than the Triton.

–       Only has a 12 guest capacity.

–       Doesn’t have a full bar or bartender as an option. It’s BYOB.

–       No dancefloor.

#3) Yacht Rental San Diego

Yacht Rental San Diego is the only boat rental service that allows the user to input the occasion date, amount of guests, and budget and quickly texts you a list of yachts (and discounts) that fit your needs.

One of the benefits of using this charter company is the fact that you have access to not only different yachts, but also differing capacities that range from 1 person all the way up to 100 people.

Capacity: They utilize 12 different yachts, all with differing capacities, bar options, crew options, and food options.

Add-Ons: Similar to many of the other yacht charter companies, Yacht Rental San Diego can provide lily pads, slides, hosted bars, catering, and more.

Pricing: Ranging from $40 for tickets all the way up to $2,500 per hour.

–       It’s really nice that they utilize an easy, step-by-step way to get exactly what you want from a yacht. Not only that, but they text your phone with a few different yacht options.

–       Availability is typically better than Malarky or Triton due to the fact there are more charter options available.

–       They don’t have the personal touch of event planners like the Triton and Malarky have, so if you’re looking for an event coordinator, look elsewhere.

#4) Luxury Liners

If you’re looking for a more traditional yacht rental in San Diego, Luxury Liners is an option. They have multiple yachts available to choose from, so you can go big or small and can charter for multiple days if you want to travel up to LA and are willing to spend big bucks.

Unlike the Triton or Malarky, Luxury Liners is not a family owned business, it’s more of a marketplace of yachts that you would charter through a broker, meaning they don’t own any of the yachts that they rent.

Because they take a commission on top of the owners of the other businesses, on average, you’re probably going to spend upwards of $6,000 for a 4 hour cruise and not really get the customer service level you can expect with the Triton or Malarky.

However, Luxury Liners has locations all across the world, so if you’re in San Diego and looking to rent a yacht in Florida or Greece, Luxury Liners would likely be your best choice.

Their yachts range from 52 feet to 132 feet, so there is a wide range to suit many event types.

Capacity: Since they have about 20 yachts to choose from, the capacity varies from 12 guests all the way up to 76, but most are limited to 12.

Add-Ons: Unfortunately most of the yachts come with pretty standard add ons like simple flotation devices if you want to go swimming.

Pricing: The average price you’ll pay for a 4 hour cruise with 12 guests will be as low as $4,000 and as high as $23,000 for their most expensive option. As a worldwide yacht broker company, they don’t offer discounts on bookings.

–       Around 20 options to pick from with varying capacity and yacht types.

–       Typically more availability due to more choices.

–       More expensive than Triton or Malarky.

–       Lack of fun add-ons. Standard flotation devices.

–       Friendliness of captain and crew can be hit or miss.

–       Nonexistent reviews.

–       Most offerings aren’t well suited for events/parties.

#5) Yacht Life Charters

If options are critical in choosing a San Diego yacht rental, and price isn’t a factor, another option is Yacht Life Charters. Similar to Luxury Liners, Yacht Life Charters is a worldwide yacht broker site with around 18 options in San Diego.

For a 4 hour, half-day yacht rental you’ll spend between $2,100 and $8,500 per charter. They have more cost effective options than Luxury Liners, but capacity maxes out around 50 guests on their largest charter and the average is around 12.

The booking experience, since it’s marketplace, tends to be longer than it would be with a mom and pop like Malarky or Triton, but with 18 choices you’re likely going to have better availability during peak season (May-August).

The available yachts stretch from the smallest, called the Vintage speedster at 25’, all the way to the 105’ Astondoa. They have numerous high end, ultra modern designs, but the available add-ons are lacking compared to Malarky or Triton.

Yacht life charges a deposit of either $1,000 or 50% (whichever is higher) of the total charter cost, which can get pretty steep for some of their more expensive options. Unfortunately, the deposit is non-refundable in most cases so if something comes up at any point after the deposit is paid, you’re likely not getting any of your money back.

Capacity: There are a wide range of capacity options, that go from as low as 10 all the way up to 50 guests on one of their larger rentals. Most of the rentals have a maximum of 12. Most have both interior and exterior lounge space and most have at least 1 bathroom on board. If you’re looking to host a large event like a wedding or fundraiser, there are very few options.

Add-Ons: Similar to Luxury Liners, you really only have the ability to add on simple flotation devices and in some cases paddleboards. If you’re looking for exciting add ons, it’s best to go with Triton or Malarky.

Pricing: Yacht Life has a similar range of pricing to Luxury Liners, but they have a few more lower priced options with their smaller rentals. You’ll be paying about $2,100 for their smallest 4 hour charter and $8,500 for their largest option.

However, they do have membership rates available which can knock about $1,000 off the listed price if you plan on booking multiple charters each year across the world. Their membership rates are a one time fee and cost $2,000, $5,000 or $8,000 for their corporate membership.

Triton Charters’ 75 foot catamaran yacht comes in at the $3,300 price tag for a 4 hour charter and gives you the best value for your money. Pricing varies based on the number of people and duration of your charter.

What Should I Bring For My San Diego Yacht Rental?  

We always suggest that you bring as few items as possible! Nothing is worse than running late to a yacht charter and barely making it on time. If you’re renting from a company that is BYOB and food, make sure you pack easily portable meals and drinks. Bring sunscreen, a towel, sunglasses, and a smile!

How Can I Book A Charter?

Most rental companies have booking software that gives live availability! If the website does not have a live calendar, you will have to fill out a booking request which takes a little more time.

Best Time Of Year To Rent A Yacht In San Diego?  

The best time to rent a yacht is……ALWAYS! Obviously the nicer the weather, the better the experience, but keep in mind you usually can get a better deal in the off-season. Peak season is usually from June through August.

Do Yacht Rentals Come With Food and Drinks?  

Some yacht rental companies in San Diego include food and drinks, but the majority don’t. The larger the yacht, the more likely that they will have food and drink packages. No charter company in San Diego includes food (that we know of) but they do have vendor lists for food.

Do You Need To Put A Deposit Down To Book A Charter?

Yes, with every San Diego yacht charter company you will need to put a deposit down, which can range from 10% all the way to 20% of the total charter cost. Malarky and Triton both offer a 10% deposit that is fully refundable if canceled more than 72 hours before your charter.

What Activities Are Available On San Diego Yacht Rentals?

In terms of activities, Triton Charters and Malarky Charters have the most possible add-ons to enjoy while on the water. If you’re looking for more than just a sip and sail adventure, here are a few of the add ons that both charter companies offer to make your trip more exciting and memorable:

–       High powered jet skis for a boost of adrenaline and fun during your charter.

–       Stand up paddle boards if you’re into exercising and feeling more of the open ocean.

–       Lily pads for safe splashing off the back of the catamarans.

–       Ocean kayaks which we highly recommend during whale watching season for getting closer to the action.

–       Waterslides for slipping and sliding to cool off in the summer heat.

–       Live music which is ideal for wedding ceremonies, bachelor/bachelorette parties, vow renewals or corporate events.

–       E-Surfboards for open water surfing and exploring,

Aquata is Coast Guard certified for up to 11 passengers!

How big is Aquata and what’s the interior like?

Aquata is a 2022 37ft Axopar Cross-Cabin Cruiser. There are plenty of sociable seating areas with a table on the foredeck, along with a spacious sun-deck. One of the innovative concepts is the Gullwing door, allowing seamless access to the front cabin. Additionally, the boat comes with versatile aft-deck modules that can be customized to meet our customers’ specific needs and preferences. The large sliding canvas roof, together with the two large sliding doors, really opens up the cabin to the elements to enjoy those gorgeous San Diego days!

where does the Boat rental go?

Aquata can venture to San Diego Bay, Mission Bay and along the San Diego coastline. Aquata has no problem hitting high speeds to quickly get you to your next destination!

How long should we rent the boat for?

Aquata has a minimum rental time of 2 hours. We recommend renting for 3-4 hours to get the most out of your experience!

where are you located?

Our address is 2700 Shelter Island Drive, San Diego CA 92106. Once booked, you will receive a detailed confirmation email with parking and walking instructions to get to the boat.

what is your cancelation policy?

Aquata requires all cancellations to be made 14 days prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund. Cancellation within 14 days of the charter will forfeit their deposit. Any cancellations made within 72 hours before the charter will forfeit the full amount of the contracted services and are non-refundable.

Where do we go?

Aquata allows our customers to choose the route that they’d like to take. Explore the San Diego Bay passing by iconic landmarks, relax in one of the many scenic coves while enjoying the wildlife, or speed out to the pacific ocean for a gorgeous view of the California coastline. With enough time you can do it all, the possibilities are endless!

What will we see during the charter?

During your private yacht rental, expect to see an array of gorgeous scenery and historic landmarks. Some of our favorites include the Coronado Bridge, USS Midway, Star of India, Sunset Cliffs, La Jolla Cove, Hotel Del Coronado, Point Loma Lighthouse and so many more! With a little luck you could see dolphins, sea lions and whales!

What do we need to bring?

Aquata Charters allows you to bring your own food and drinks (this includes alcohol).  Be sure to bring food that is easily accessible and easy to clean up! Please do not bring any red wine aboard, or glass cups. All liquids contained in glass will be put into plastic cups. Feel free to bring towels, sunscreen, and a big smile!

What types of Add-Ons do you have?

Our add-ons are another great reason to choose Aquata Charters. We have paddle boards, lily pads, water trampolines, kayaks, and more! Your event coordinator would be happy to help get these booked for you.

Does the charter include a captain?

Your Aquata rental does NOT include a captain. You must choose your captain during the booking process. The captain’s fee of $50/hr is paid directly to the captain upon arrival at the dock.

Once you confirm your reservation, your broker will process your payment.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

San Diego Bay is the 2nd largest bay in California – it hosts some of the largest naval fleets in the entire United States. If you’d like to rent a boat in San Diego Bay, be aware that bigger is better! Large military ships, huge cruise vessels, and massive yachts can make for some very large wakes that are hazardous to smaller boats. Here are the types of boats we recommend for San Diego Bay. 

Types of Boat to rent in San Diego Bay 

• If you have less than 6 people and want to take a boat in San Diego Bay, we recommend either a large boat rental or purchasing tickets from yacht companies that offer Bay Cruises. 
• If you have 6-12 passengers, we recommend renting a vessel such as a catamaran or large pontoon boat found here
• If you have more than 12 passengers, we recommend renting these yachts which offer a Captain, Crew, and even a bartender. 

Type of Boat to rent in Mission Bay 

Mission Bay is the largest man-made bay in the United States! There are plenty of boat rental companies in Mission Bay, so be sure to choose the right boat for your group. Unlike San Diego Bay, paddleboarding, kayaking, and small sailboat rentals are possible because of the shallow waters, calm, and relative size of Mission Bay. Here are the types of boats we recommend for Mission Bay. 

• If you have less than 6 people, pontoon boats , ski boats , sailboats , and even ticketed yacht rentals are possible in Mission Bay.

Thanks to everyone, and particularly to Captain Curtis, for a very special catamaran cruise for 12, as we celebrated the 90th birthday of our dear friend. Great care was taken by everyone to ensure the safety of our older and elder guests embarking, on the craft and disembarking. Special requests for "picture site stops" along the sailing route were accommodated. Memories are made of this.

We had the BEST time during our catamaran ride this past weekend!! We had the entire boat to ourselves, which was well maintained, and Mick was an excellent captain. We even got lucky enough to see the dolphin training -- SO cute!! It was a special time and we'll definitely be back for another ride over summer.

I booked a private charter for 7 for a bachelor party and we had a perfect day out on the water with Jason. The boat was very nice and we got a great couple hours out on the bay. Price per person was super reasonable too - would definitely book again!

My boyfriend and I had a sailing booked for a Saturday afternoon in October! It was both our first time ever being on a sailboat so we had no clue what to expect. By the end of it, we were both pleased and happy with the experience! It was an amazing and peaceful afternoon out on the water. Captain Mick was an excellent tour guide. He pointed out sights we had never seen before and taught us some new things. He also offered recommendations for places check out in San Diego, which we went and did that same weekend!
