Below Deck Yachts

Yacht with Below Deck logo

If you’ve never seen the show, it follows the crew of a luxury yacht during peak “charter season.” The original Below Deck, for example, showed off the glitz and glamour of the Caribbean, especially around St. Thomas, the British Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas. The Mediterranean spin-off, on the other hand, highlights European hotspots, including Italy, Spain and Croatia.

The show is undeniably a ton of fun. From the drama in the crew quarters, to the incredible beaches, the show provides an entertaining look behind the curtain.

Yet, the chartered superyachts are the real stars of the show. Each season, Below Deck features a truly stunning super yacht. All of them measure over 150 feet and are decked out in opulent features, staterooms and amenities. And here’s something you might not know: The majority of the Below Deck yachts are available for charter!

Below Deck Charter Yachts

Through five seasons, Below Deck has featured some of the most magnificent super yachts in the world. Some of the yachts have changed ownership since the show, been renamed, or have undergone a refitting. Yet, most look like they did from the show.

But beyond the name and maybe a few changes to the interior, there aren’t many differences. All of the water toys, Jacuzzis and stunning outdoor dining areas are what you’ll find on the yachts available for charter! So which charter yachts are available?

Here’s a more detailed look at the yachts featured on the original Below Deck:

Honor – Season 1

Lumiere yacht

Honor (which is now LUMIERE) kicked off the first season, and she put on a dazzling display. The yacht, originally built by Benetti in 1999, is one of the largest yachts ever featured on the show, and it was actually booked for a five-week charter for filming.

HONOR benefited from the new-found fame of the show. She sold after it aired for nearly $15 million, and the new owners completely refit her interiors and renamed the boat. Today, LUMIERE is a masterpiece of nautical engineering.

She features luxurious accommodations for up to 12 guests and an abundance of deck space, including a sprawling sun deck. The yacht also features a wide array of water toys (the slide was a struggle for the crew all season!).

Ohana – Season 2

Yacht Rhino

Season 2 took the crew on a tour of the British Virgin Islands and featured some familiar faces. Captain Lee, Chef Ben, and Bosun Eddie were back, much to the pleasure of fans. Yet, the yacht was completely different.

OHANA (real name is RHINO) was featured on the second season, a stunning 154-footer, with beautiful decks, a horseshoe outdoor bar, and a stunning outdoor sun deck. After the show aired in 2014, Ohana underwent an extensive retrofit.

She now features an updated interior with a decidedly modern, airy vibe, as well as new hardware, including a state-of-the-art stabilization system.

Eros – Season 3

Yacht Mustang Sally

EROS took centerstage in Season 3, and the 161-foot yacht, originally built for the founder of Tim Hortons, was one of the most luxurious featured on the show. The beautiful tri-deck, featured a stately saloon, a sky lounge Jacuzzi, and sleek exterior styling.

EROS – which was sold prior to the third season – has since been renamed and was also remodeled. She’s now known as Mustang Sally, and unfortunately, this is one of the few Below Deck charter yachts that’s not available for charter.

Valor – Seasons 4 & 5

yachts used on below deck

The stately VALOR was a fan favorite in Season 4 and 5. Built in 1990 by Dutch-based Feadship, the 154-foot VALOR featured a sprawling aft deck, perfect for sunset dinners and afternoon lounges. Plus, the ship – when featured on the show – had a range of water toys, including dual jet skis and a sleek, boutique hotel-inspired interior.

Like Mustang Sally, VALOR – which is now known as simply BG – isn’t available for charter. Yet, fans will always remember all the drama that took place on board.

Below Deck Mediterranean Yachts

Below Deck Mediterranean premiered in 2016, and through three seasons, the show has featured some of the Med’s best yachts. All of the yachts from the Mediterranean spin-off are available for charter, exactly how you see them on the show.

Ionian Princess – Season 1

Yacht Ionian Princess

Season 1 of Below Deck Mediterranean launched with a bang, featuring one of the strongest premieres for the franchise. Although there was plenty of drama throughout the season as the crew traveled around Greece, the beauty of IONIAN PRINCESS couldn’t be missed. The ship, which was originally built in the U.S. in 2005, featured a sleek, streamlined tri-deck design and gorgeous interiors.

The sun deck – where guests partied all season long – is one of the yacht’s star attractions, featuring a Jacuzzi with world-class views. Her interior, though, is one of the most stunning, featuring a chic design. The yacht also includes six cabins with accommodations for up to 12 guests.

Sirocco – Season 2

Sirocco yacht

Season 2 took the crew to Croatia, aboard SIROCCO. The Dutch-built yacht originally launched in 2006, and thanks to its unique two-tone, third-deck exterior, she was remembered for her striking exterior. All of the yacht’s features made great TV. From her incredible sun deck, to the African chic interior, and all of the many water toys, SIROCCO’s impressive design and amenities stood out.

Today, she’s available for charter throughout the Mediterranean. A few unique features include a sun deck gym, an alfresco party deck, a theatre, and a wide array of water toys.

Talisman Maiton – Season 3

Talisman

Named for an island in Thailand, TAILSMAN MAITON is a stunning tri-deck that cruises the pristine waters of Italy and all of the Mediterranean. The largest to ever be featured on the show, TAILSMAN is truly incredible.

The yacht accommodates 12 guests, in 6 beautifully appointed rooms. There’s a master suite, as well as 1 VIP stateroom, and four smaller cabins. The yacht was built in 2006, but most recently refit in 2016 with a timeless Art Deco aesthetic. The yacht also features a sundeck spa pool with a beautiful bar, a full-service gym, and an observation deck with panoramic views.

How Long Are the Below Deck Charters?

Here’s a little-known secret about Below Deck: The “charter season” on the show is just a few weeks. In fact, the yachts are actually booked for about six weeks, and their regular crews are sent home. In other words, the charters on Below Deck are actually a charter within a charter!

Each of the Below Deck charters last just a few days, and each episode features new charter guests.

Below Deck Yacht Rental Costs

Hiring a yacht from Below Deck isn’t cheap. The majority cost in the neighborhood of $150,000 per week. Yet, that charter rate doesn’t include expenses, including fuel, dockage fees, and taxes.

Yet, for that price, you’ll get a truly world-class experience. The crews of each of these yachts provide first-class service and all of the boats are fully loaded with amenities. There’s nothing quite like it in the world. And by hiring one of these superyachts, you’ll also have bragging rights for chartering a yacht featured on a TV show!

The best jobs are often defined by the perks they offer: a high pay, flexibility of work hours, etc. But what if one perk of your job was the opportunity to travel to exotic locations on a super-luxurious cruise? This is exactly the kind of “dream job” that the cast of ‘Below Deck ’ have.

‘Below Deck’ is a reality television series that follows several crew members of a luxury yacht that travels to a holiday destination with numerous guests. The crew are faced with countless challenges as they aim to make the guests’ experience as hospitable and pleasant as possible. Often called “yachties,” the crew members juggle various personal conflicts as they strive to work hard and party harder by visiting some truly mesmerizing places.

Below Deck Filming Locations

Each season, a new group of guests are seen aboard the ‘Below Deck’ yacht. Apart from that, the destination also changes as the ‘Below Deck’ crew get an opportunity to travel to another location altogether, more vibrant than the last.

Many of you might be wondering where ‘Below Deck’ is actually filmed. Well, owing to the format of the show, most of the filming for ‘Below Deck’ takes place aboard a luxurious yacht. Apart from that, the locations that the yacht travels to are also picturesquely depicted on the show. These gorgeous locales are one of the highlights of the series, to be honest.

Majority of the filming for ‘Below Deck’ takes place on the multi-million dollar yacht that the crew operates and manages. Most of the crew is rejigged each season, save for the captain, Lee Rosbach who leads the operations.

For the seventh season of the show, a yacht named “Valor” is used. The same charter vessel had been used for the fourth and fifth season of the show. However, outside the show, the yacht is called “BG.” Just to get an idea on how premium “BG” or “Valor” is, consider its weekly rental rate (exclusive of fuel charges): $160,500.

https://twitter.com/brunodsailor/status/909826220761796608

A yacht named “My Seanna” was used for filming the sixth season of the show while “Eros/Mustang Sally,” “Ohana/Rhino” and “Honor/Lumiere” were used for shooting the third, second and first seasons of ‘Below Deck’ respectively.

The seventh season of ‘Below Deck’ was filmed in Thailand. The yacht sailed the Andaman Sea and the Phang Nga Bay. The Southeast Asian country is known for its beautiful, sandy beaches and pristine islands.

The Ao Po Grand Marina in Phuket serves as the home port for Valor on season 7 of ‘Below Deck.’ The docking location acts as a gateway to the Phang Nga Bay and has several bars and restaurants to serve those sailing. This is where the crew of ‘Below Deck’ kick back their feet and enjoy a night of drinking, or two.

Moreover, Ko Poda Island is also one of the locations where the yacht will be heading to for the seventh season. The imposing and magnificent island has become quite a hub for snorkeling thanks to the shallow stretches of water around its clean, sandy coast. Apart from that, the iconic Phi Phi Islands are also a filming location and destination for ‘Below Deck’ apart from Koh Rang Yai Island, Ko Yao Yai and Laem Krating.

Other Locations

As mentioned earlier, ‘Below Deck’ takes its crew and guests to a different part of the globe in each season. For instance, the sixth season of the show was set outside the Caribbean region, in the islands of Tahiti. On the other hand, the fifth season was set and filmed in St. Martin while the fourth season took place in the Virgin Islands . Bahamas serves as the location for the third season while the second season was set in the British Virgin Islands and the first one around the Caribbean.

How Much Exactly Do You Have to Pay to Charter a Boat on 'Below Deck Mediterranean'?

The Big Picture

  • Trying to get on Below Deck Mediterranean comes with a hefty price tag.
  • Guests on the show pay a discounted rate, but still shell out over $8,000 each to be on the boat.
  • The $65,000 price tag for the show is a steal compared to the usual cost of chartering a yacht, which can reach up to $200,000.

Trying to be on a Bravo show is a goal for many viewers and, if you have money, it might be an easier goal to obtain. One of the top shows on the network is Below Deck Mediterranean and, if you can afford it, you can worm your way into a spot on the series. But only as a guest, and you have to pay a pretty penny to make it happen.

The premise of the show is to see the crew of Below Deck Mediterranean working on a ship together and taking care of guests when aboard the ship. But, according to Bravo's website, the series seemingly has guests paying less than what they normally would. The casting for the show states that those "guests" are paying a discounted rate to take a journey. The site says that the crew are serving guests paying "a highly discounted rate of what the normal charter fee." And when you hear how much they're paying, it will make you wonder how much a real charter fee is.

Now, your average day Bravo fan might not be able to just drop the amount of money it takes to be on Below Deck Mediterranean . According to a casting email obtained by The Things , each person is paying over $8,000 to be on the boat. That puts the total to charter the boat at $65,000. Again, how much is it normally to charter a boat if this is the discounted rate? With a tip of $15,000 total for the crew, that puts the grand total for each person at $8,125. Sorry, guys, we maybe won't be on Below Deck Mediterranean any time soon.

What Does the 'Below Deck Mediterranean' Price Tag Get You?

That $65,000 price tag is, sadly, not even a fraction of what this kind of get away typically costs, running you upwards of $175,000 to $200,000 to charter a boat. If you aren't the most elite of rich people, you might not find yourself on Below Deck Mediterranean any time soon. Reportedly, what this price tag includes for those wanting to be the next guest on Below Deck Mediterranean is the following: economy roundtrip airfare for everyone, two nights in a hotel, three days on a luxury yacht, a private chef, food and alcohol on the yacht, 24 hour service and all 'water toys.'

So with the $15,000 tip already included and knowing what the overall price tag could be to charter a yacht, it isn't the worst deal on the planet. You just have to have that much money just lying around.

Below Deck Mediterranean

In a luxury charter yacht traveling across the Mediterranean, crew members face both the challenges of managing upscale guest expectations and the complexities of their own interrelationships. Each episode highlights the high-octane world of yachting where exceptional service standards meet personal drama and adventure.

Motor Yacht EROS has been revealed as the show name for the yacht used in the upcoming season of Below Deck Series 3, set to hit U.S. television screens with a half-hour preview on Monday 10 August at 10pm ET/PT. In usual fashion to the previous two seasons of the hit show, the featured yacht has undergone a name change, usually known as  charter yacht 'Mustang Sally.'

Superyacht EROS renamed for Below Deck Series 3

Bravo's popular show recording the charter vacations of clients on board a luxury yacht officially returns for the Season 3 premiere on Tuesday 25 August 9 at 9pm ET/PT. Viewers will be able to enjoy insight to the luxury yacht charter experience, as various clientele rent M/Y EROS in the Bahamas . As seen in the newly released trailer for the show, the summer charter season will be as dramatic as ever, fuelled by champagne, caviar and tropic thunder.

This year's crew will comprise of familiar faces from last season, including Captain Lee Rosbach, Kate Chastain (chief stewardess), Amy Johnson (second stewardess) Eddie Lucas (bosun) and Ben Robinson (Chef), with the new addition of crew members crew members Don Abenante (second engineer/deckhand), Connie Arias (deckhand), Raquel “Rocky” Dakota (third stewardess), Emile Kotze (deckhand) and Leon Walker (Chef).

During the season, the feisty crew on board the $11-million luxury yacht must check their egos at the dock to concentrate fully on providing a first-class service to their guests, who have paid around $35,000 for 3 days on board the well-appointed yacht.

From affairs, firings of crewmembers and technical failures on board EROS, Season 3 appears as if it will be full of drama throughout. As seen in the trailer above, one highlight will be the ongoing tension between Kate and new Chef Leon, causing Captain Lee calls on Chef Ben Robinson for help.

The popular motor yacht EROS usually charters for $175,000 per week, and boasts luxury amenities for 'Below Deck' clientele to enjoy including an 8-person Jacuzzi, deck barbecue, gym and ship-wide music system. She accommodates a total of 11 guests in five cabins, in a spacious layout comprising of a four double cabins and a twin cabin.

Below deck fan amy poehler reveals shocking role she wants on bravo reality show.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

What happened to xandi olivier after below deck season 11, the golden bachelor: what gerry turner & theresa nist got in the divorce (did they have a prenup).

  • Amy Poehler loves Below Deck and wants to join as a crew member, even joking about becoming the captain.
  • She prefers Below Deck over reality shows without a purpose like Real Housewives because she enjoys the work aspect.
  • Although Amy thinks she'd do poorly on Survivor, being a charter guest on Below Deck would be more likely.

Saturday Night Live 's Amy Poehler is such a big fan of Below Deck that she wants to join the Bravo reality show in a major crew member role. After leaving SNL , Amy went on to star on the NBC comedy Parks And Recreation . She is currently promoting the hit animated Pixar film Inside Out 2 , in which she voices the character Joy. Amy is not the only celebrity who loves watching Below Deck . Seth Rogen, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, Jennifer Lawrence, Christina Applegate and Anthony Mackie are just some of the many actors and TV personalities who watch Below Deck .

Amy Poehler loves watching Below Deck and wants to join the franchise.

While promoting Inside Out 2 , Amy discussed her love of reality TV, including Below Deck . While talking with Cosmopolitan UK , the SNL legend admitted that she wants to become a Below Deck cast member, specifically the captain . " It would be hard for me to not be the captain, but, again, I do not know how to drive a boat, so I feel like that would get in the way ," she sarcastically said. Amy added that she'd " fake it " for a couple of days before her inevitable firing.

Amy went into more detail about why she likes watching a show like Below Deck as opposed to other reality shows that focus on people's everyday lives. As she explained, " I like the job that everybody has to do. I care about whether or not they turn the boat over. I want to watch them clean the bathrooms and stuff. That's why I'm into ." Amy's not a fan of reality shows like the Real Housewives where there doesn't seem to be a purpose , according to her. " Everyone sits around and there's no job; they just go to dinner ," she added. " That gets me very stressed. "

Amy Poehler Thinks She’d Be Voted Off Survivor “Pretty Fast”

Amy poehler talks "in front" of people's backs instead of behind their backs.

While Amy believes she would be well-suited to a show like Below Deck , there's a different reality show she would likely fail at: Survivor . " I think I'd get voted off pretty fast ," she admitted. Amy explained that if she were on Survivor , she would be talking to people " in front of their back " instead of " behind their back ." Behavior like that would not go over well with Survivor players and would make her a target at Tribal Council. However, if Amy did get voted off of Survivor , she would " accept the tribe's word ."

It's unlikely that Amy will ever compete on Survivor , but appearing on Below Deck could be a strong possibility--just not as the captain. Below Deck is no stranger to featuring celebrities on the various yachts. Past charter guests have included American Idol 's Justin Guarini , The Bachelor 's Erica Rose, musician Roy Orbison Jr., baseball player Johnny Damon, journalist Jemele Hill, and Real Housewives stars Heather Gay, Cynthia Bailey and Jill Zarin. Clearly, Bravo cast members have a leg up when it comes to appearing on Below Deck as the vast majority of the celebrity guests are reality stars.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

While there's no way Amy will be joining Below Deck as a cast member, Bravo should consider having her as a charter guest . Considering she's already a big fan of the franchise, it's unlikely she would turn down the opportunity. The network could also consider filming a comedic bit with her where a season of Below Deck kicks off with Amy at the helm of the yacht, then Captain Kerry or Sandy walks in, surprised to see her. Amy has a long-standing relationship with NBCUniversal, which produces Below Deck , so an appearance should happen at some point in the future.

Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.

Below Deck Med’s Nathan Gallagher and Gael Cameron Sneak Off Camera Together After Flirty Night Out

Below Deck Meds Nathan Gallager and Gael Cameron Sneak Off Camera Together After Flirty Night Out

Below Deck Mediterranean ‘s Nathan Gallagher and Gael Cameron were determined to spend time together without cameras after a flirty night out.

During the Monday, June 10, episode, Gael started to get concerned about whether her long-distance romance with an offscreen boyfriend would last. Nathan, meanwhile, was around waiting to swoop in after previously hinting at his attraction toward Gael.

The crew celebrated the end of their first charter by going out to dinner, which is when Gael expressed her doubts to chief stew Aesha Scott .

“At the moment, our relationship is a little bit of a long shot. We are still trying to figure out this whole trust factor,” she admitted on the show. “I know he’s a bit of a flirtatious person and what happens when he is on a boat full time with some really attractive girl?”

Aesha, who is currently engaged to Scott “Scotty” Dobson , tried to offer Gael some advice, adding, “It is scary especially because there’s so much cheating in yachting and I’ve always hated it. But you deal with it when it happens and up until that moment, just don’t worry about it.”

Below Deck Meds Nathan Gallager and Gael Cameron Sneak Off Camera Together After Flirty Night Out

In a confessional, Aesha elaborated on why she couldn’t relate to Gael. “Scott and I have been together for three and a half years. There has not been one time where I have ever been paranoid,” Aesha noted. “So I just think if you are worried about each other then surely it is not right.”

Nathan was also privy to the “interesting” conversation between Aesha and Gael. As the night progressed, Nathan and Gael appeared to be flirting at a club.

“I haven’t given you a strawberry yet,” Gael told Nathan. “Can I do it tonight?”

A producer subsequently asked Nathan whether strawberry was a “euphemism,” to which Nathan replied, “A strawberry is just a wee bit of fruit that we share. You will eventually find out.”

In footage from the premiere episode , Nathan was seen telling Gael she was “trouble already” when he saw her take a strawberry from the chef’s pantry.

“It’s just a strawberry,” Gael replied to Nathan, who said, “You could steal me a strawberry in there. I will hold you to it.”

When the crew returned to the boat at the end of the episode, Nathan appeared to make a move on Gael. “Do you want to keep me company? We can sneak the strawberry,” he said as several cameramen were seen on screen. “We need to lose these cameras.”

Nathan and Gael returned to their individual cabins where they initially went to bed . It didn’t take long for Nathan to text Gael while their cabin mates were fast asleep.

“Where should we meet that has no cameras?” read a message from Nathan to Gael. “The starboard bow locker has no cameras. Let’s go there.”

Gael asked Nathan to tell her when he was there and if he got “caught.” She was then filmed leaving her cabin and heading to the front of the boat.

“What is right and what is wrong? Am I doing the right thing or the wrong thing?” she said in a confessional. “Maybe I like him a little tiny bit. Maybe I just want to hang out with him a little bit. I’m not harming anyone.”

Nathan messaged back that the coast was “all clear” before a “To Be Continued” title card was shown. There was no trailer for the next episode included at the end.

Some Below Deck fans might have gotten some deja vu while watching Gael and Nathan ‘s plans to interact without getting caught. During season 5 of Below Deck — which aired in 2015 — Eddie Lucas and Raquel “Rocky” Dakota started hooking up secretly by meeting in the laundry room because there were no cameras there at the time.

Eddie, who had a girlfriend while filming the show , denied Rocky’s claims at first. But by the end of the season, he revealed to the whole crew that he was having sex with Rocky. Chief stew Kate Chastain later cited Rocky and Eddie’s offscreen hookups as the reason why production added cameras to the laundry room.

“They ruined it for everyone,” Kate quipped during an interview with the Daily Dish in 2020. “This is why we can’t have nice things, Eddie and Rocky.”

Inside the star yacht of Below Deck Down Under season two

Television network Bravo will begin airing season two of Below Deck Down Under on 17 July, a Below Deck spin-off which follows a yacht crew over an eight-week charter season in Australia. This instalment sees Captain Jason Chambers return at the helm, cruising guests around the warm, tropical waters and colourful cays of the near-uninhabited Whitsunday Islands. Making her debut down under is Northern Sun , a Japanese superyacht with an unexpected history. BOAT takes a look inside…

Delivered in 1976 under the name Hokko Maru (“Northern Light”), Northern Sun has lived a full and fascinating life. At 50.8 metres, she was the largest yacht built by Narasaki Shipbuilding at the time and worked as an ice-class research vessel, analysing marine life and ocean currents in the North Japan Sea. The transformation from ship to superyacht came in 2006 when she underwent a two-year refit, courtesy of her new owners.

Northern Sun has the hardy constitution of an explorer, marking a departure from the first season’s white boat Keri Lee III .

When her current owners undertook renovations, they were intent to elevate her to superyacht standards while still maintaining her distinctive look. Her old windlasses are still visible on the forward deck, the master cabin has retained its original camber and even the engine room looks exactly as it did when she was a research ship. "Looks" being the operative word, of course – she’s had several system upgrades since the 70s.

Interiors include natural materials such as narra and makore wood (commonly known as cherry mahogany). This dark wood furniture and wall panelling give Northern Sun her warm, traditional feel, while the cabins themselves are dotted with the owners’ collection of travel paraphernalia. It makes for an eclectic living space, with indoor sofa seating accented by authentic Persian rugs and the formal dining room and master suite fixed with guild-frame, 19th century oil paintings. Keep an eye out for one of the owners’ most coveted pieces, a 100-year-old ship’s clock which still rings out the two-hour, maritime work shift also known as "the dog watch".

Northern Sun’s main deck is dedicated entirely to entertainment, from the al fresco dining area to the main saloon with its piano and games table. Other leisure highlights include gym equipment, a dedicated library on the lower deck and an outdoor Jacuzzi, surrounded by sun pads and lounge beds. The owners’ addition of a forward seating area during her refit allows for versatile recreation, whether the mood calls for cocktail parties or quiet, waterside contemplation.

The superyacht naturally has impressive stowing capacity, with space for scuba-diving equipment, a waterski and a two-deck-high inflatable water slide. There are also two Laser sailboats, enabling nimbler exploration along Australia’s shallow bays and coral reefs.

The owners spent ten years cruising through Southeast Asia after Northern Sun was refitted. Using the superyacht as a base for adventures, they've scuba-dived in the Andaman Sea, kayaked in the mangrove swamps of Phang Nga Bay and explored some of Indonesia’s most remote fishing islands. In 2015, they decided to put Northern Sun on the charter market, where she quickly became one of the most popular yachts available in Thailand. Now, she’s made her way across the seas to become the breakout star of Below Deck Down Under .

Captain Jason will be joined by returning chief stew Aesha Scott, working alongside a brand-new crew.

Northern Sun is currently listed with Ocean Independence , with a weekly charter starting from $161,700 and an asking price of $15,000,000.

Below Deck's Captain Sandy Isn't Happy When Guest Floats Too Far From Boat

Captain Sandy Yawn wasn't thrilled with some of the Below Deck Mediterranean team when a situation left a guest stranded away from the boat for 45 minutes.

During the Monday, June 17, episode of the hit Bravo series, bosun Iain Maclean was excited about the progress the deck crew was making.

"The season is still early but I have a really good team," he said in a confessional. "Everyone is improving and things are going smoothly. No one is an idiot."

It didn't take long for an issue to come up when the guests wanted to play in the water. In addition to swimming, the exterior team prepared the slide, multiple WaveRunners and paddle boards. Deckhand Nathan Gallager was asked by a guest to join him on a separate paddle board in the ocean while the others stayed closer to the boat.

Below Deck Mediterranean's Biggest Drama Through the Years

While both Joe Bradley and Gael Cameron initially had their eyes on the guests, Iain sent Gael for a three-hour break and seemingly didn't notice that Nathan was nowhere in sight . Nathan and the guest were then seen getting worried about how far they had floated from the Mustique.

"It's too far. We floated away," Nathan said before elaborating to the cameras. "We are trying to row back to the yacht but we are actually going backwards because the current is that strong. So yeah, we are stuck at sea. I am s-ting myself."

Joe was the first one to notice Nathan's disappearance, saying, "Where the hell are these two? This is really embarrassing." Before Iain was alerted to the issue, Nathan and the guest were already on their way back after hitching a ride on a catamaran.

Sandy, however, wasn't pleased to hear that a guest was stranded for 45 minutes.

A Guide to Every Captain in the 'Below Deck' Franchise: From Lee to Sandy

"This doesn't make me happy. This is embarrassing," she told Iain about the mistake. "No one really was watching them. Lesson learned."

After Joe took responsibility for not noticing where Nathan was, Sandy explained why Iain was more to blame , adding, "I appreciate that Joe was accountable, but that goes back to Iain. You need two people watching the guests at all times. It is Iain's job to delegate a watch person."

She continued: "I am not happy. Always have your eyes on the guests if they are on any toys. The person in a tender follows them, make it a priority."

Season 9 of Below Deck Mediterranean has gotten off to a rocky start in every department . Initially, the issue was with the provisioning company which left the interior team with none of the items that they needed for their first charter.

"I understand that sometimes you can't get everything that the client requests. You are in different parts of the world with different stuff stocked. It is abnormal to not receive a shipment of wine and rosé," she noted earlier this month. "Considering how badly this provision company messed up, we are going to need some changes after this charter."

Captain Sandy's 'Below Deck' Feuds Over the Years - and Where They Stand Now

Sandy was also caught in the middle when Chef Johnathan Shillingford wouldn't wake up to make food for guests late at night. The captain defended Johnathan but second stew Elena Dubaich got upset as a result.

"I bust my ass and it all became about waking up the chef," Elena said through tears. Johnathan also reacted to the issues between him and Elena while on a phone call with someone, saying, "This b*tch is going to drive me crazy."

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 airs on Bravo Mondays at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
