Move over Erica Rose - Dr. Kim Nichols has officially gained the title as the worst charter guest ever on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3. Erica Rose first chartered Parsifal III in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2, along with her girlfriends and mom. The guests soon put the crew to work by requesting the interior to unpack all of their luggage and wait on them hand and foot. Erica returned this season, this time with her husband Charles Sanders, her mom, and some friends. Charles proved to be demanding and spoiled, complaining about the food and throwing tantrums when he didn’t get what he wanted. Erica made it worse when they left the Parsifal III crew with the worst tip in Below Deck history.

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 cast members were relieved to see Erica and her group off the boat. Following the harrowing charter, the Parsifal III crew had fairly easy guests. However, Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher knew their latest primary would be a handful when she requested to be addressed by Dr. Nichols on her preference sheet. Sure enough, as the dermatologist and her group arrived, they asked Daisy to steam all their many clothes. Dr. Nichols’ husband, Chris, and his friend asked for bloody Marys with bacon and grilled shrimp, only to complain that they weren’t big enough.

Dr. Nichols and her guests had the Parsifal III team running around with their demands. They asked for refills on drinks when they were halfway done, while each asked for different types of ice. Chris asked Daisy for a drink called a “Transfusion,” which requires grape juice as an ingredient. When Daisy informed him they didn’t have any grape juice, he kept hounding her about it. Exasperated, Daisy eventually mashed some grapes in a blender and then strained the juice. Twitter user Valbus Crumbledore bemoaned, “Just when I think #BelowDeckSailingYacht can’t get any more obnoxious guests, these people show up.”

After dinner, the guests wanted to dance to music and kept demanding service while Daisy was trying to hook the speakers up. One of the drunken guests offered Daisy 100 euros and when she refused it, he threw it at her chest. An astounded Below Deck fan tweeted, “He. Threw. Money. At. Daisy.” Viewers couldn’t believe how entitled the guests acted and many already predicted they would leave a bad tip.

The guests will be back in the next Below Deck Sailing Yacht episode, and it looks as if they don’t behave any better. They have a dinner scheduled for 10 p.m., which Marcos Spaziani was preparing diligently for . He knew that if the guests didn’t like his food, Daisy and her only stew, Ashley Marti, would be hearing it from them. However, when Daisy went to check on the primary charter guest, Chris asked for dinner to be served at 11 p.m., which set everything back. The episode ends with Daisy frustrated and ready to chuck the guests overboard.

Dr. Nichols on Below Deck Sailing Yacht primary dubbed 'most obnoxious charter guest' ever

Dr. Nichols, Below Deck primary guest, drinks, demands and displays way too much in episode 11

Daisy Kelliher dealing with Dr. Nichols, Below Deck Sailing Yacht primary guest, during season 3 episode 11

Bad news for the Parsifal III crew: it looks like Charles Sanders and Erica Rose have officially been dethroned as Below Deck Sailing Yacht 's most nightmarish guests of season three.

Meet Dr. Nichols, a Connecticut-based dermatologist who charters the boat with her husband Chris Cabanillas and their friends in episode 11 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 . Already short-staffed by the departures of deckhand Tom Pearson and second stew Gabriela Barragan , the crew is quickly swamped by Nichols and her group's relentless requests and constant complaints.

"He's very particular," chief stew Daisy Kelliher warns her coworkers about one of the guests, who gripes about both the bacon and shrimp in his Bloody Mary: "A little weak on the bacon...you need two stalks of bacon. I asked for two jumbo shrimp, look at the size of these things."

"If a guest is going to complain about something like this at the beginning of a charter...I know there's more coming, it's not going to end," Chef Marcos Spaziani worries.

The demands extend beyond the kitchen, with Dr. Nichols and company wanting every item of clothing steamed, requesting more sun loungers than the boat physically had onboard, loudly complaining about how much the charter costs ($60,000, FYI) and asking for Daisy to "juice grapes" for a bar concoction called a "Transfusion."

"I definitely don't think these guests realize we are a stew down, but even if they did, I don't think they'd give a f*ck," the chief stew says in a confessional.

Things hit a new low during one particularly drunk dinner, which the group requested to have at 10pm, keeping the entire crew up late. Wearing a very revealing top, Dr. Nichols is immortalized as "Dr. Nipples" thanks to an ill-timed wardrobe malfunction at the dining table while Chef Marcos relays that evening's menu. The group gets progressively drunker and at one point, one guest physically tosses money at Daisy as an "apology" for their behavior.

Fans have plenty to say about Dr. Nichols, Below Deck Sailing Yacht primary

These guests… no. Hate everything about ‘em. Everything. And the primary complained about the charter fare… on air… so the tip will be little to nothing. #WalkThePlank #belowdecksailing #BelowDeckSailingYacht #BDSY @BelowDeckSailng May 10, 2022

Is Erica Rose or Dr. Kim Nichols’ group the worst Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guests? Fans weigh in

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans sound off on worst charter guests Erica Rose or Dr. Kim Nichols.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans have weighed in on whether Erica Rose or Dr. Kim Nichols’ group are the worst charter guests on the hit sailing show.

Season 3 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht has brought some controversial guests. Erica and her husband, Charles Sanders, were slammed by viewers over their entitled and obnoxious behavior. The haters also came out when they left a measly $6500 tip.

At least Erica didn’t have dinner with her nipple hanging out for the world to see. Chef Marcos Spaziani could barely speak to explain the meal as Kim was so drunk that she kept having nip slips, earning her the nickname Dr. Nipples from viewers.

What are Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans saying about Dr. Kim Nichols’ group?

Twitter was buzzing with comments about Kim, a celebrity dermatologist in Greenwich, Connecticut. The consensus among Below Deck fans was Dr. Kim was awful.

One user called her “annoying,” while another expected more class from a doctor.

Comments about DR. Kim from Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

Social media didn’t just take aim at Kim. Her whole group came under fire for the unacceptable behavior.

A Twitter user referred to them as “f**king entitled a**holes.” Another declared the group the most disgusting people on Below Deck, and another shared the guests have “no class.”

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans call out guests.

It didn’t take long for Twitter to bring up Erica and her charter. There was a remark about Kim and Erica being related. Another one was shocked a group of guests could be as “rude or annoying” as Erica’s group.

Who do Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans think are the worst charter guest groups, Kim or Erica?

Along with slamming Kim and her friends, Twitter was flooded with comparisons to Erica’s charter, which was previously deemed the worst by fans.

A remark stated Erica, Kim, and Barrie Drewitt-Barlow are racing for worst charter guest, while one claimed Kim and company were trying to rival Erica and Charles.

So, is Kim’s group worse than Erica’s group? As of this writing, the answer is yes.

One Twitter user labeled them the “most obnoxious charter guests to appear on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.”

BDS fans calls Kim and friends the worst.

That’s not all either. Gangplank Report podcast hosted by Below Deck alum Adrienne Gang and super fan Jen Bennington did a poll asking this very question. So far, Dr. Kim and company are winning, but the poll will be open for six more days.

Gangplank worst charter guest poll

It’s typical to have over the top demanding charter guests on the Below Deck franchise. However, Dr. Kim Nichols and her group were too much for Bellow Deck Sailing Yacht viewers. The group gave off Erica Rose and Charles Sanders vibes.

What did you think of Kim and her pals?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo.

Daisy was unprofessional. It’s never okay to do what she did by condoning wrapping clothes in shoes and just throwing everything in bags. That’s like condoning spitting in food. This isn’t a cheap trip. They pay 60K for a few days and have a right to have high expectations and be a little demanding. At least they tipped well unlike Erica and her cheap husband, so add 20K to the 60K they already paid and you go and throw their clothes and shoes together like garbage? Who is the unclassy one?

'Below Deck Sailing Yacht': Dr Kim Nichols and group dubbed as 'most obnoxious charter guests ever'

Charter guests being difficult on the 'Below Deck' franchise is nothing new, but making the crew stay up late and constantly complaining about terrible service in front of them definitely doesn't earn the guests any brownie points. The recently aired episode of 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' featured Dr. Kim Nichols, a dermatologist from Greenwich Connecticut, and her husband Chris Cabanillas, chartering the Parsifal III for a luxury vacation with their friends.

With Gabriela Barragan deciding to quit mid-season, chief stew Daisy Kelliher and Ashley Marti were left to handle the whole service themselves. Though Daisy and Ashley braced themselves to do some extra work , the stews didn't anticipate the amount of work that they would not only be burdened with but also put up with the unimaginable level of disrespect from the charter guests. From the get-go, the guests found the most mundane thing to complain about and demand. From asking the crew to steam every piece of clothing to complaining about the ice melting and being served with lukewarm drinks while sitting under the sun, the guests went above and beyond to make the interior team's lives a living nightmare.

Daisy had to single-handedly cater to all the demands of the guests which ranged from making drinks and playing music to fetching them warm blankets. Despite being exhausted, Daisy maintained her calm and composure and did her best to meet all the demands of the guests. The guests noticed that Daisy was handling everything by herself, but instead of being understanding or more considerate of her situation, they complained about bad service to her. The chief stewardess was left fuming when one of the guests threw money at her for the "aggravations" caused to her by their group.

After watching the guests' behavior, several fans took to Twitter to slam their inconsiderate behavior. A fan tweeted, "These guests are ridiculous #BelowDeckSailing." "I’ve never hated guests more, I can’t believe this woman is a doctor #belowdecksailing," wrote a fan. Considering all that Dr Nichols and her guests are putting the crew through, we can only hope that they tip generously unlike the Roses from earlier charter, whose abysmal tip earned them a lot of clap back.

Dr Kim Nichols’ booming biz proves how she afforded Below Deck service

Dr Kim Nichols is just one of many successful business owners who have boarded the Parsifal III. She let cameras film her experience on Bravo’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht , which left fans eager to find out her background.

It’s widely known that being a charter guest usually means you’re pretty secure in the financial department. It  costs them $275,000 per week , which goes up to $310,000 during the “high” season.

Kim joins the line-up of charter guests who have received a five-star service on board. So just how does she afford a life of luxury and what does she do for a living? We quickly sailed to shore to find out.

Who is Dr Kim Nichols?

Dr. Kim Nichols is a celebrity dermatologist who was a charter guest on Below Deck Sailing Yacht . The board-certified injector is also the founder of Hustle & Glow Institute and is based in Greenwich, Connecticut.

She arrived at the Parsifal III with her family, which included her husband and three children. Kim runs her own clinic called SkinLab where she treats for both medical and cosmetic skincare concerns.

Featured on season 3 episode 11, Kim is a Harvard graduate who later attended the NYU School of Medicine and pursued her dermatology residency at King-Drew/Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Why do they have charter back to back? I can’t imagine picking up a new charter just a few hours after a night out. In the other BD franchises, they usually get a full day of cleaning, prepping menu, getting decor/provisions, etc. #belowdeck #BelowDeckDownUnder — TVHotTake (@TVHotTake) April 16, 2022

Kim’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht debut

Kim climbed aboard the yacht with her husband Chris and kids Sasha, Peyton and Desi. As  Tom Pearson  and Gabriela Barragan left the show, their replacements joined the crew with this new charter.

In her requests, the lead guest asked the crew to call her “Dr. Nichols” for the term of the charter. This was heard at the end of season 3 episode 10, hinting at the professionalism of the guest for its May 2nd episode.

It’s not the first time she has tried to make her Below Deck Sailing Yacht debut, as she was meant to appear on season 2 episode 3. Kim and her family were unable to make the charter after missing her flight, but have now made it!

Captain Jason is officially my favorite Captain of #BelowDeck franchise. I like that he is a captain first, treats his staff well, but can let loose to have total fun with the guests. Below Deck Sailing Yacht  Recap: Grab the Grape Juice

Below deck sailing yacht.

Before I dive into “Paging Dr. Nipples,” I want to backtrack and discuss last week’s episode for a moment.

I was expecting (and hoping) to get a confessional from Gary that would shed a bit more light on his encounter with Ashley. I’m not sure how to take their hookups, given that they only seem to happen when both parties are severely sloshed. In some cases, one person is even full-blown blackout — like Gary was last week — which is highly sus. (Side note: Will Bravo ever address the frat house level of binge drinking on this show?) I want Gary to reveal how he feels about these drunken hookups and whether he feels taken advantage of or uncomfortable. When Colin asks Gary about how things are going with Ashley, Gary replies that he’s not going to go near her as she’s too clingy. Colin agrees and calls her desperate. Gary then wonders aloud about the new stew, Scarlett, and how much drama the two of them will cause if they like each other.

Meanwhile, Ashley and Gary barely share scenes together this week. One of note? Let’s state the record for the court.

INT. GALLEY — DAY Gary: So guys, what do you think of the deckhand? Let’s talk about him while he’s not here.

Ashley: What do you think about him?

Gary: I like him.

Ashley: Looks like you lucked out!

Gary: Yeah, maybe I can finally get laid!

Ashley: I think you already did; you just don’t remember.

Gary breaks the fourth wall and gasps to the camera.

Gary: With who?

Gary and Marcos laugh.

Now onto the guests from hell. Who raised these people? Dr. Nipples (née Nichols) & Co. are awful, scum of the earth people. As per her  Instagram , she’s a celebrity dermatologist. I tried writing out all of their offensive antics in a paragraph, but it was such a long block of text that I decided the only way to present this information was in a list format.

  • The group of six has (at least) nine pieces of luggage and wants every item of clothing to be steamed. This takes Ashley 210 minutes.
  • One of the guests, a man named Dino, barks at Daisy within minutes of arrival: “I want a bacon Bloody Mary with grilled shrimp. How’s that for an order? A double bacon Bloody Mary with two grilled shrimp. No olives.” Not a please in sight! When his drink arrives, he’s not happy: “A little weak on the bacon. Weak! Weak bacon! You need two stalks of bacon in there.” He’s also not happy with the shrimp. They’re not jumbo enough!
  • Dr. Nipples’ husband, Chris, demands a drink called a Transfusion. He will continue to demand this drink throughout the duration of the charter. If you, like me, have never heard of this drink, this is how you make it, according to Chris: “Equal parts vodka, ginger ale, and grape — not grapefruit — grape juice.” Unfortunately for Chris, grape juice doesn’t exist in Europe. Fortunately for Chris, he doesn’t care and demands Daisy JUICE GRAPES … He wants this woman to literally make juice from grapes? I cannot get over how deranged this request is.
  • Darling Chris gives his fellow travelers a tip when it comes to cocktails: “As soon as it gets a little warm, hand it back and get a fucking new one. Don’t force down lukewarm drinks, none of that shit.”
  • After dinner, the guests clomp upstairs to “get jiggy with it” and shout at the crew to bring music, blankets, and a bevy of complicated drink orders. There is clearly a technical difficulty with the speaker system — which should probably get cleared up in the year of our Lord 2022 — but Chris and Dr. Nipples’ responses? Insane! “If you don’t fucking make this shit work right now,” Chris laments before his wife chimes in with a tirade of her own: “Alright, this service sucks. Let’s go. I’m done… I paid fucking sixty thousand dollars…” (Subpoint A: Dino flicks a $100 bill in Daisy’s face for “the aggravation for tonight.”) (Subpoint B: Is $60,000 for a three-day charter for six guests cheap or expensive? Do guests on the show get a break because they have to be on a reality show? I would love to know the discount!)
  • The last but certainly not least offense: This group pronounces ‘espresso’ as ‘expresso.’

I am not including Dr. Nipples’ nip slip in the list of offenses because I am pro-nip slip, which is fun and flirty, and I am also pro-Marcos’ reaction to said nip slip, which was delightful. The guests clearly think so, too, because they start plotting how to lure him into the private chef sector.

Looking at this list of behavior … are you not embarrassed? Marcos later drags them with such a singular scathing line: “This type of guest … they just want to feel rich.” He just called them poor, tacky wannabes! And babe, he’s 100 percent right.

Special mention goes to Daisy’s confessionals in this episode. She is an amazing actress. Give this girl an Oscar. I would have lost my shit Teresa Giudice style had I been catering to these guests, but our girl Daisy keeps calm and carries on while dealing with them.

I’ve been so distracted by these rude asses that I almost forgot to talk about sweet new deckhand Barnaby! First thing’s first, let’s clarify the pronunciation of his name. Dictionary.com breaks it down as [bahr-n uh -bee]. Was that so hard, crew? He has “Jesus hair,” according to Kelsie (who has already ruled him out on the romance front), grew up competitively sailing in Singapore, teaches water sports to the rich and famous (Barack Obama, Richard Branson), and will cater to Daisy’s every need. “I reckon that if I get on the wrong side of her, she’s going to have me for breakfast,” he says in a confessional after agreeing to squeeze limes for his chief stew. “I know what I’m doing: Look after Daisy, and then she’ll look after me.”

Barnaby is a total pro. He comforts Kelsie after she drops a pin in the water by saying, “I mean it’s stupid to make water toys have components that sink,” which,  true , and helps her laugh it off. I can tell Barnaby would never make such a JV mistake, but he pretends he will next and calls it a rite of passage. He has incredible team player energy, and I bet he’s an incredible roommate for Captain Glenn. I am also obsessed with the fact that he believes he can get rich by osmosis. I, too, believe this.

Now that we’ve met slow and steady Barnaby, I’m desperate to meet Scarlett, the new stew, already. She’s going to make Ashley lose her mind, and readers, I will love every second of it.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht: Dr. Nichols Loved Time On Show

Dr. Kim Nichols Loved Time With Cast On Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 charter guests Dr. Kim Nichols , her husband Chris and friend Dino have fans fuming .

Despite all the complaining from the trio about the slow service on Parsifal III , and their bad behavior, Dr. Nichols said they had an “absolute blast” on the Bravo show.

Dr. Nichols Says She Had A Blast With The Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 Crew

In a response to local news outlet Greenwich Time , Dr. Nichols, age 46, said she and the others on her charter trip had a great time. “…Parsifal III and its crew were nothing short of fabulous and we truly had a great time with their entire team,” Dr. Nichols.  “[I have great] appreciation for Below Deck ’s hardworking staff that made our experience so memorable.”

Dr. Nichols and the other charter guests on the latest episodes of BDSY season 3 bossed around Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher and showed a complete lack of manners and respect. So Dr. Nichols’s kind words must come as a major surprise to Daisy and fans alike.

With all their antics, though, searches for Dr. Nichols, AKA Dr. Nipples, have skyrocketed on Google Search and Instagram. With all the popularity and publicity, albeit mostly negative, Dr. Nichols is taking advantage by promoting her dermatology clinics . Maybe Dr. Nichols doesn’t regret spending $60,000 on the trip after all. On the show she threw a drunken temper tantrum and complained she had spent “sixty thousand dollars” on the trip. It looks like Dr. Nichols treated her lawyer husband Chris Cabanillas , investment banker Dino, his wife Donna, and friends Pedro and Adriana to the sailing yacht charter in order to get advertising for her dermatology clinics in Connecticut.

Dr. Nichols Opens New Skincare Clinic Right After Being On Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

below deck sailing yacht dr nichols

Since being on the Bravo reality TV show, Dr. Nichols has been promoting her dermatology clinics and skincare procedures a lot on her Instagram . Before her Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 appearance, the celebrity dermatologist owned two clinics in Connecticut, including NicholsMD of Greenwich (the town she and her family live) and SkinLab in Stamford .

Late last week Dr. Nichols hosted a grand opening of her third clinic located in Fairfield, Connecticut. Dr. Nichols now is the boss of 22 employees working within her dermatology clinic businesses.

Many of her staff members also went to her house for a BDSY watch party of her first appearance on season 3 last Monday. Some fans are wondering what her employees thought about her drunken behavior and antics while on the show, including having her nipples (although blurred out for TV) exposed out of her dress during dinner on the sailing yacht. However, some infamous charter guests, including Erica Rose and her husband Charles , apparently played up the villainous, rude actions in order to get the attention. Charles would later brag that all of the backlash from fans had only ended up helping their law firm. Also, Below Deck season 9’s Rayna Lindsey has claimed the show is fake , so perhaps all the rudeness was acting.

Considering how Dr. Nichols had her “marketing” team working on social media after her first appearance on the show, she may have staged her bad behavior in order to get attention for her growing business empire. And no one remembers nice charter guests like Jim Blumenthal from earlier on in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 Crew Members Who Should Return For Season 5 (And Those Who Shouldn't)

  • Gary King's reputation suffered due to his involvement in two love triangles and a recent sexual assault scandal. Bravo may be done with him.
  • Daisy Kelliher is a must-have team member for Captain Glenn due to her ability to resolve crew drama and handle tough charters well.
  • Alex Propson and Mads Herrera should return as they had a strong connection in the previous season, and viewers enjoyed watching their bond develop.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is one of Bravo’s most entertaining spin-offs. It features memorable cast members, over-the-top drama, and various love stories that never fail to amuse fans. The spin-off’s season 4 premiered in April 2023 and was full of surprising moments. One shocking incident happened when Gary King got involved in two love triangles. The first officer tried his luck with chief stew Daisy Kelliher, who already liked chief engineer Colin Macrae. At the same time, Gary was interested in junior stew Mads Herrera, who was into deckhand Alex Propson.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht ’s highlight is Captain Glenn Shephard’s calm nature and fatherly relationship with his crew members. Fans love to see the middle-aged Captain resolve problems between his team while executing some of the toughest charters across the sea. Viewers must be waiting for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 , which should come sometime in quarter 2 of 2024. There is some suggestion that Captain Glenn’s next big adventure is somewhere near Ibiza and should feature many new cast members. The show will also have returning names that fans may or may not want to see again.

Daisy Kelliher (Should Return)

Daisy Kelliher may return despite season 4’s confusing love triangle. Daisy has been part of the show since season 2 and has done an excellent job as the chief stew. While she was involved in much drama during the last season, she is the one who usually resolves the drama between the crew. Therefore, she’s a must-have team member for Captain Glenn . Daisy is also very friendly and handles tough charters well. Moreover, she appears to be a fan favorite.

Gary King (Shouldn’t Return)

While fans may love Daisy, they no longer like her friend Gary. The South African native once won everyone’s hearts with his juvenile charm. Unfortunately, he became more and more unbearable with each passing season. In season 4, Gary was part of two love triangles, and it was clear he wasn’t serious about either. The first officer’s playboy-like behavior ruined his reputation, and the recent sexual assault scandal worsened it. According to Dexerto , Gary was recently supposed to appear on BravoCon. However, he was removed from the lineup following the misconduct allegation. It’s possible that Bravo is done with him.

Related: Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4- Who Is Colin MacRae's Girlfriend?

Alex Propson (Should Return)

Alex was a surprising new addition to Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4. He proved himself a terrific deckhand and won fans over with his personality. BravoTV ’s official website calls Alex a “natural-born flirt.” However, his treatment of Mads during season 4 proves he’s a good guy. Alex would be a perfect fit for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5. He can resume his connection with Mads if she returns to the show or makes new friends. Alex has a great screen presence, and Captain Glenn wouldn’t regret bringing him in.

Mads Herrera (Should Return)

Alex’s love interest, Mads , was also an exceptionally good crew member during season 4. She was a junior stewardess and could return as the second stew on the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5. Mads is a great pick for another season because of her unfinished story with Alex. Viewers enjoyed watching the two crew members bond, but Gary’s involvement ruined their connection. If Mads returns, she can pick up where she left. The young stew has often said she should have spent more time with Alex. Maybe she can do that in season 5.

Colin Macrae (Shouldn’t Return)

Like Gary, fans must be completely over chief engineer Colin Macrae. Viewers have seen Colin for the last three seasons of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . While he had maintained a good image for the first two, he dropped the ball in season 4 by not treating Daisy right. The love between colleagues turned friends is never a good idea, and Colin proved that in the last season. Things would be even more awkward if he returned to the show with Daisy. Colin would benefit more from taking a break or joining another Below Deck spin-off.

Chase Lemacks (Should Return)

Chase Lemacks is the charming young new deckhand who deserves more experience under Captain Glenn. The South Carolina man has only been in the yachting business for less than four years but has already proved himself an excellent crew member by learning on the job. He has also called out Gary publicly on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen , which makes him a winner in fans’ eyes. Chase has just begun his big career and is confident on-screen. He has the potential to provide a lot of on-screen entertainment and give fans many memorable moments in season 5.

Lucy Edmunds (Should Return)

Lucy Edmunds should also return to Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5. Lucy is liked because she was one of the most entertaining cast members in season 4. Her facial expressions, confessional videos, and moods were must-watch moments last time. Additionally, she wasn’t romantically involved with her crew members. If Lucy returns to the show, she has much to offer to viewers. She can try to make a romantic connection with someone or surprise fans by avoiding romance. Besides her quirky responses and hilarious personality, Lucy has much she can do on the yacht.

Ileisha Dell (Shouldn’t Return)

Chef Ileisha Dell can return to Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, but it would probably not help the ratings. Ileisha is an excellent chef with 17 years of experience. However, she was non-existent in the on-screen drama, making her one of the most boring parts of season 4. Ideally, the network would benefit by casting a new chef with a better screen presence and a more notable personality. Captain Glenn’s crew for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 needs someone like chef Dave White or an unforgettable culinary expert such as Ben Robinson.

People watching a movie in a Pioner 24-hour open-air cinema in Gorky Park.

Temporary cinemas will be popping up across Moscow very soon, starting from July 16. All of the spots are brilliant examples of either constructivist or avant-garde architecture, so expect striking settings. A selection of classic Soviet films will be aired using cinematic equipment from the last century. All the screenings are free although online registration is required beforehand, while there will also be guided tours of the spaces, organized by the “Moscow through the Engineer's Eyes” company.

Registration will be open soon at mos-kino.ru

Bread factory

Following the success of former factories transformed into art spaces (VinZavod, Arma, Trekhgornaya manufacture), Khlebzavod (“bread factory”) No 9 is one newly opened joint that is attracting creative types from all over the city. The movie Time! Forward! will be screened in the building’s boiler room on July 16. It follows workers from the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, one of the largest steel companies in Russia, and is based on a novel by Soviet writer Valentin Kataev.

What’s more, Khlebzavod is a monument to constructivist architecture. Where better to watch such a film?

Roof of the Narkomfin Building

Narkomfin Building / Kirill Zykov/Moskva Agency

The Narkomfin Building was originally designed to house high ranking employees at the Commissariat of Finance. It was built by architects Moisei Ginsburg and Ignaty Milinis. Also a fine example of constructivism, it’s currently in a state of disrepair, locked down, and fairly difficult to get into - which is like a red flag to a bull for more adventurous types.

However, on July 30 the place will be opened up and people will be welcomed onto the roof to watch the film Faith and Truth.

Khrushchyovka courtyard

Cheremushki district / Alexander Scherbak/TASS

A courtyard located in the 9th experimental block of the Novye Cheremushki district will turn into an outdoor cinema this summer. Cheremushki is the first district where Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchyov decided to build the iconic Khrushchyovka apartment blocks in the 1950s. As a result, thousands of Russians were given their own pads after decades living huddled together in communal apartments known as kommunalka .

Cheremushki is the adapted film-version of Dmitry Shostakovich’s operetta and will be shown here on Aug. 6. The organizers of the multiple screenings - the Moskino cinema chain - say they will revive the Soviet tradition of neighbors meeting in courtyards for a good old tongue wag. There will also be a guided tour of the block.

Address to be confirmed at mos-kino.ru

If you want a slice of the postwar Soviet avant-garde style, head to the Pioneers Palace at Vorobyevy Gory. Pioneers Palaces were youth centers for sport, creativity, and hobbies for Young Pioneers (a communist organization for children) during the Soviet Union. There were dance classes, martial arts, drawing, and many other activities.

To Love a Man , a movie about two young architects building a new town in Siberia, will be shown here on Aug. 22. There will also be a lecture about building experiments in the 20th century.

The last cinema venue remains a secret. On Aug. 27 there will be a screening, but at the moment no one knows where. Information will appear on mos-kino.ru but those who attend all four screenings above will be able to guess the last location.

A talk about architecture and Soviet history also will be hosted here.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

<< Previous page

Pages:  379-406

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

below deck sailing yacht dr nichols

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

below deck sailing yacht dr nichols

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

below deck sailing yacht dr nichols

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

below deck sailing yacht dr nichols

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
