Peter Marino has drawn an interior which is entirely focused on using the most beautiful materials. The client devoted countless hours to finding the essential ingredients, right down to personally selecting pieces of veneer for the central staircase. This exacting attention to detail and insistence on perfection are why the owner came to Feadship: every element on board has been meticulously designed and built, with nothing left to chance.

Feadship launches superyacht JUICE

This weekend saw the launch of 71m (2433ft) motor yacht JUICE from Feadship’s facilities in Amsterdam. Commissioned by an experienced Owner and repeat client, the yacht features exterior design by the illustrious RWD characterised by a sleek and elegant profile featuring a raked bow, polished stainless steel and stunning curved glass panels.

Her interiors are artfully crafted by Peter Merino, showcasing an understated elegance and refined palette, with every minute detail meticulously considered.

In terms of amenities, she is set to impress with a host of crowd-pleasing features such as her 8-meter glass-sided swimming pool, welcoming beach club haven, lower deck cinema suite, sun deck gymnasium and a 10-meter custom limousine tender for luxurious excursions ashore.

She will also provide accommodation for 12 guests across 6 suites, including a dedicated Owner's deck.

Superyacht JUICE is expected to undertake sea trials in the coming weeks. It is not yet known whether she will become available for luxury yacht charters.

71m Feadship superyacht Juice delivered

The 71 metre Juice has departed the Feadship shipyard and is now undertaking her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean following delivery to her owner.

The news comes shortly after the newest addition to the Feadship fleet, formerly known as Project 820 , was put through her paces during rigorous sea trials in the North Sea in February. Juice features exteriors design by British studio RWD with "soft lines" and "distinctive creases" for an "elegant yet masculine" appearance. 

The 1499 GT motor yacht was launched in January 2021 and is built with a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and a composite top deck that keeps the yacht’s centre of gravity as low as possible for enhanced seakeeping. Interiors come from Peter Marino , who worked with the Dutch yard recently on the interiors of 94 metre Viva .

Juice was commissioned by a repeat Feadship client who happens to be a keen collector of modern art. The vessel's nameplate is inspired by the work of American artist Ed Rusha and the name itself, Juice , is a nod to the expression  "juice on top", which is used by auctioneers and has a similar meaning to "icing on the cake."

Highlights include an eight-metre pool on the main deck, a walk-around superstructure, sundeck gym and a cinema on the lower deck. Unusually for a yacht of her size, Juice has an owner's deck positioned between the bridge deck and the main deck, with four guest suites positioned on the main deck.

Beneath the foredeck, there is storage for three custom tenders, comprised of a 10-metre limousine, eight-metre guest RIB and a rescue boat, which are launched via gullwing doors in the hull. All structural parts of her exterior have been finished in polished stainless steel.

Other yachts currently in build at the Dutch shipyard include the 118 metre Project 1010 , which was glimpsed in October 2020 with delivery due in 2022, as well as Feadship Project 822, which was spotted on transport in September 2021.

Outside the Feadship yard in Amsterdam, onlookers were treated to a sighting of the beautiful new luxury yacht JUICE as she was leaving her shed for the first time.

Luxury superyacht JUICE by Feadship launched

The Owner is an avid collector of modern art, and the name ‘JUICE’ comes from the 1967 work by American artist Ed Ruscha. A 3D logo of the name can be seen on the funnel.

Poised and elegant, this 71m/233ft superyacht features a raked bow and sinuous lines surrounding the dark glazed windows in the hull form. The exterior design from RWD is polished to perfection, giving her smoky grey hull and silvery superstructure a mirror-like sheen. Glass balustrades and poolsides play an important role in giving unrestricted views of the surroundings.

The flush foredeck conceals three custom tenders underfoot: A 10m/32.9ft limo, an 8m/26.3ft guest RIB and a rescue boat, all of which are launched and retrieved using the hull gullwing doors.

The interior by Peter Marino uses top quality materials that were hand-selected by the Owner, who had a strong hand in the project and appreciated the Feadship reputation for meticulous attention to detail.

Notable features include a dedicated Owner’s deck between the bridge and main decks, while the latter location hosts four generous guest suites. A spacious beach club, lower deck cinema and sundeck gym add to the entertainment offerings while guests are hidden away from civilisation in remote anchorages.

Juice, the new 71-metre Feadship superyacht, has just been launched in Amsterdam. 

This weekend saw the undocking of the 71-metre Juice from the giant Feadship construction hall in the Dutch capital. Observers were mesmerised by the beauty of this timeless Feadship: a blend of polished stainless steel, glass and teak offer a classic feel while the exterior lines showcase a sleek and captivatingly contemporary elegance.

The owner of Juice, a repeat client for Feadship, has worked tirelessly with the designers at RWD to ensure a refined exterior flow with soft lines and distinctive creases. All unnecessary elements have been removed to generate an elegant yet masculine look. Another instantly visible aspect is the walk-around superstructure along with a striking coherence between the decks on a superyacht that synthesises Feadship’s seasoned ability to meet the most stringent demands.

Transparent features are made of glass, including the railings and the sides of the pool, and large flat and curved glazed panels ensure unrestricted views.

Everything one touches outdoors, from the aft saloon doors to the hand and cap rails, has been considered by the designers to give a feeling of warmth and comfort. Beneath the stunning flush foredeck are housed three custom tenders – a ten-metre limo, eight-metre guest RIB and a rescue boat – that are launched via the gullwing doors in the hull.

The name reflects the fact that the owner is a keen collector of modern art and the 3D logo of the name on the funnel is inspired by an eponymous 1967 work by American artist Ed Ruscha. Auction connoisseurs will recognise the nod to ‘juice on top’, an expression from that world with a similar meaning to ‘icing on the cake’. There can be no more appropriate description of a Feadship that is the pinnacle of achievement for all parties involved.

Beer Review: Icarus Brewing’s Yacht Juice

North East style IPA filled with Citra, Mosaic, and Columbus leaving it with a combination of citrus and dank aroma and flavor. We may not own a Yacht, but at least we can enjoy the Juice.

As I said last week , few breweries have made as powerful and quick an impact on the New Jersey Craft Beer scene as has Icarus Brewing in Lakewood, NJ. One of the beers that helped to engender that positive vibe over the past year is what amounts to their Flagship beer, a New England / Northeast IPA they call Yacht Juice , continuing the trend of Jersey Shore breweries (started by Carton) of giving at least one beer a nautically-themed name. Enough about the name, more about the liquid in the glass.

The beer is poured into a slim 10oz flute-style glass (which seemed an odd choice of glass-style for the style of beer, I would have gone tulip), likely because of the relatively high ABV of 8%. Aroma is sweet, hoppy, and juicy. The lighting was not the greatest in Project P.U.B. at the time I had the beer, the bar area was very crowded. That said, the beer was a pleasant yellow-orange is not done justice by my photograph. Between the color and aroma, the beer is very inviting; in other words, this seemed to be the profile I’ve come to enjoy the most in IPAs.

First sip is a nice pop of flavors – pleasant hoppiness that hits the sweet and juicy which profile. The description attributes three hop varieties in this beer, but for me the Citra is the dominant of the three. The level of juice in this one has a pleasant bitterness, I’d guess from the Mosaic hops. The Columbus hops are the hops with which I’m most unfamiliar, so I’m not sure how that factors into the beer, but I’m guessing it helps to bring a really nice balance between the Citra and Mosaic.

Some of the hops that emulate fruit flavors give you a really distinct fruit profile, some orangey, but this one is almost like a tropical punch with a heavy dose of orange juice. That said, don’t think ths a carbonated glass of orange juice. Oh no no no. This is a beer through and through and the hop finish on this one latches on to your taste buds and makes it really tough to drink this slowly.

When this beer started making waves (no pun intended) in the NJ Beer community about a year ago, I didn’t give it much consideration since I thought it was “just another hazy IPA.” I was certainly wrong about that, this is a beer that really lives up to the hype. I’m going to have to make sure I head down to Icarus and/or make sure I snag a four-pack when the next delivery drops at my local beer store.

As I suggested in the opening paragraph, a growing number of nautically-named beers are being brewed by NJ Craft Brewers, the first (and some would say the best) being Carton’s Boat Beer . Although Icarus is playing in similar waters with Yacht Juice, the style is a few steps removed from the sessionable Boat and stands on its own as a delicious New England or “Northeast Style” IPA. Aside from bearing nautical names and being somewhat hop-forward, the two beers are quite different and excellent.

Recommended, link to Untappd 4.25-bottle cap rating . To be honest, I continue to vacillate between leaving this at a 4.25 or upping it to 4.5. I guess I’ll have to make the sacrifice and seek out the beer again.

Love the space, the decor, the service, and choices offered! They offer many premade smoothie base you can mix and match, which I love. However, because the base was premade, you cannot adjust the sweetness. For my personal taste, it is way too sweet (thus tooooo much sugar) for a "healthy" meal or snack. It's probably OK on the cheat day. Lol!

Nauti Bowl & Build my own bowl

Great new spot to grab some delicious acai bowls! If acai isn't your thing they also have pitaya, "blue majik", coconut, mango and chia pudding with a long list of toppings to choose from if you want to "build-your-own-bowl". They have 10 "signature bowls" to choose from too if you don't want to deal with making all the choices. Three sizes are available (Yacht = 24 oz, Cruiser = 16 oz, Dinghy = 12 oz). Service was very friendly. The dining space, if you decide to stick around, has a cool beach vibe with music, Q&A games on the tables & a fresh look. I'd recommend Nautical Bowls to others. Cool spot to have a healthy food option!

Located at the fast-growing Eastlake Marketplace, Nautical Bowls has finally found its way to west Texas. You can find it by Gold's Gym. If you aren't familiar, they offer various açaí bowls. As I parked, I noticed a steady stream of customers coming and going. I was greeted warmly and immediately upon entering. It's in a strip mall so it's a little small, but there are decent seating options. I liked the surfboard tabletops. The young man behind the counter was friendly and eager to answer questions. He told me they have been open for almost a month now and shared that the Paddle and Sunrise Bowls were the most popular ones ordered so far. You can choose from their signature bowls or create your own. I opted for the Big Island Bowl and Sunrise Bowl. I quickly took my obligatory Yelp photo and dived right in the Big Island Bowl. Absolutely delicious, and the perfect treat to help cool off from this current blistering heatwave. They were out of bananas for the Sunrise Bowl but gladly allowed me to pick substitutes. I'm totally going back for more. Paddle Bowl, I'm coming for you next!

I think it's a problem when you get an offer on the nautical bowl website for a buy one get one free coupon. You bring the coupon to this store for them to tell you they do not honor it. I don't understand why the business advertises this on the website for them to get you into the store to then deny the offer. This is scandalous business practice. I'll make sure to get my Açaí bowls from smoothie king from now on, they honor their coupons. And yea 17$ for a bowl is ridiculous. Plus the kicker, coupon states valid at ALL locations

World’s Best Bars: The Nominees For The 2024 Spirited Awards

The top bars, bartenders, brand ambassadors and spirits writers will be honored at the tales of the cocktail festival in new orleans this july., by michael solomon , forbes staff.

E xpect the champagne to be flowing tonight at the best bars around the world as the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation announced the nominees for the 2024 Spirited Awards.

Established in 2007 and considered to be among the hospitality industry’s highest honors, the Spirited Awards are part of the annual Tales of the Cocktail festival held in New Orleans in July, honoring the finest bars, bartenders, brand ambassadors, and spirits journalists from around the world. The awards are selected by a jury of hospitality peers—acclaimed bartenders, bar owners, and journalists and authors. (Full disclosure: Forbes is the official media partner of the Spirited Awards.)

While there are many familiar watering holes among this year’s nominees—including Double Chicken Please in New York (nominated for Best U.S. Cocktail Bar last year as well), Happy Accidents in Albuquerque, New Mexico (which won in 2023 for Best U.S. Bar Team) and Alquímico in Cartagena, Colombia (which won for Best International Bar Team in 2023 )—there are also some innovative newcomers among this year’s top four nominees, including Cobra in Columbus, Ohio and Cat Bite Club in Singapore.

In the United States, New York continues its dominance with five nominations this year, plus Katana Kitten’s Masa Urushido, who was nominated for U.S. Bartender of the Year for the fifth year in a row. But Washington, D.C. is right behind with four nominations. Internationally, Singapore confirms its ascent as a top cocktail city with five nominations, matching London’s total this year. Mexico is also on the rise with Spirited Award nominations for bars in Mexico City and Tulum.

“While the nomination process and number of judges hasn’t changed,” says Eileen Wayner, CEO of the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation (TOTCF), which hosts the festival and the awards, “we attribute this growth to a recognition for the talent coming out of the bars themselves, and the impact they are making in their home cities. Another huge factor is that people are traveling again—and searching out exceptional cocktail experiences when they do.”

For those who want an atlas of nominees, Tales of the Cocktail built an interactive map of the world’s best bars in 2022. “This year we’ve added 146 bars to our directory,” says Wayner, “which means that there are 146 new bars being recognized for the first time by the Spirited Awards.”

While most nominees will have to wait until July 25 to learn if they actually won a Spirited Award, there are at least two bars (London’s Cafe Pacifico and San Francisco’s Buena Vista Cafe) and one bartender, Hidetsugu Ueno, who can raise a glass in celebration tonight. Ueno, 2016’s International Bartender of the Year, will be honored with the Helen David Lifetime Achievement Awards as the proprietor of Tokyo’s Ginza-style Bar High Five.

Cafe Pacifico, which will be awarded the prestigious Timeless International Award, introduced tequila and authentic Mexican cuisine to the UK, while Buena Vista Cafe will be honored with the Timeless Award for the United States. The bar is renowned for having introduced Irish coffee to America, serving 2,000 Irish coffees per day, and for serving more Irish whiskey annually than any other bar on the planet.

Casa Cruz, bar review: The only bar in the world where Taylor Swift isn’t a big deal

A t Notting Hill’s Casa Cruz, I thought a bulldoggish doorman would be guarding the entrance. Judging by the waiter’s eyes, blazing with alarm as I shambled in, so did he. “Do you…” he asked, in that voice usually reserved for the bewildered elderly, “have a booking?”

I understood: most people who turn up here don’t arrive looking like a crumpled fiver. Linen and the rain, not a good mix. Casa Cruz is for sleek sorts: some stylish, some chi chi. It’s for women who’d have Dua Lipa reaching for the Ozempic, men who party in their Goldman Sachs starter-pack suits. It is also for the A-list. This place isn’t just popular with celebrities, it’s infested with them. Last week, Taylor Swift swung by with quite the gang : Cara Delevingne, Kate Moss, Stella McCartney, Andrew Scott, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, two Haim sisters, Chrissie Hynde and Lena Dunham. A diverse crew, in one sense. Not in the other.

But for Casa this was business as usual, same old, same old. This year, George Clooney, Cate Blanchett and Stormzy have also been in. Leo too. Not at once, granted, and not last Thursday, when the crowd was mostly a young, glittering set, divvied into two camps: one celebrating a birthday, the other discussing their heartfelt desires to do something meaningful with lives, like hosting each other’s art exhibitions.

What they’re getting is… moody lighting and an awful lot of copper? There’s a sheet of it over the front door, and strips of it run around the ground floor and upstairs bar. It catches the light, so the whole place looks like it’s had a spray tan. Though not the loos, which are exactly like those on a yacht, complete with push-button locks and room for two.

OK, OK. There’s more to it than that. There’s a menu for a South American-inspired supper, or the para picar (“for snacking”) menu, just the thing with drinks — scallops drenched in chilli and lemon juice, Basque sausages for dipping in romesco and mustard, that sort of thing. All very good.

There’s a massive great wine wall with kingpin pricing, but cocktails and mocktails too. One of their own, an Aidan (mezcal, crème de mûre, Campari, Prosecco), was like a smoky Negroni Sbagliato with a blackberry shot, boozy but expertly balanced. Soon, keen girls were tugging acquiescing boys up to dance.

The next move at Casa is always Champagne. This is what you come for: glamour, a good time, to say you’re in the same seat a princess took last week, and it not be a stretch. Casa is for having fun and feeling like you’re in rarefied air. Just be sure to dress the part.

Usher revealed his daily diet and exercise regimen to maintain his fit physique, which includes fasting on Wednesdays, cayenne pepper drinks and meditation.

“Typically I wake up and drink celery juice. I’ve been doing this concoction of lemon, ginger, water and cayenne pepper. I drink it hot,” he told the Wall Street Journal in a new interview published Monday.

“I try to wake up early enough to have a moment of reflection. Some days I may grab a book and read to stimulate my mind. I may sit quietly and meditate. One thing that is a frequent practice is yoga. It really does help to activate my organs and get my mind moving in the right direction.”

For breakfast, the “U Got It Bad” singer, 45, said he sometimes likes to eat “eggs scrambled with cheese” but he mostly likes his eggs “poached or over easy.”

However, Usher shared that he doesn’t like to eat breakfast before he’s “worked out or done something physical,” like “taking a walk, stretching or doing yoga, sitting in the sun and raising my body’s natural heat levels.”

The eight-time Grammy winner also said he fasts in the middle of the week because it’s something his “grandmother practiced.”

“I fast on Wednesdays. I typically try to start around 11 p.m. the previous day, then go the entire day on Wednesday just drinking water,” he told the outlet.

As for what Usher’s fitness regime involves, the pop star usually starts with “walking or certain knee activations.”

“I’ve had minor surgeries on my knee, I had a torn meniscus. Other than that, swimming is a really good thing to get me going and bike riding. Weight lifting, don’t do a lot of that,” he explained.

In February, Usher headlined the 2024 Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

During his 15-minute set, he performed a plethora of his hits song, including “My Boo,” “OMG” and “Yeah!”

Although the “Confessions” singer made it look easy on stage, he told WSJ that the halftime show was “one of the hardest 15 minutes that I’ll ever have in my life” and that he had to work out every day to execute the show the way he wanted to.

“I didn’t really have the time to do a lot of other things,” he said. “I was remedying my body the night before and waking up the next day and eating a very regimented, low-carb diet.”
