Each of CPBS’s boats boasts a large sundeck and panoramic views of London’s famous landmarks and is the ultimate venue for a day to remember.

The "I Do's"

With the help of a celebrant it is possible to have your wedding ceremony onboard our boats.  A celebrant allows you the freedom to have a symbolic wedding onboard any of our vessels with no restrictions in the content or time.   You meet with the celebrant in advance to create the ceremony you want, which can include religious or spiritual content if you wish  but does not have to.

We are also happy to organise same sex wedding ceremonies and vow-renewal ceremonies onboard our boats.

*At present the law does not allow pleasure boats on the Thames to be licensed venues for a legal wedding ceremony. However, by using the services of a celebrant you can overcome this hurdle and create the truly personal ceremony you wish for. In order to be married legally you will need to have a civil ceremony (arranged through a register office) separately.

The Reception

Once the ceremony has taken place and you have tied the knot it will be time to celebrate with your family and friends and there's no better place than onboard one of our fabulous pleasure boats.  

We have a variety of options available to you depending upon your guest numbers, taste and budget.  Our friendly, professional event managers know that each wedding is as unique as the individuals involved, and are on hand to guide you through the process.

We can arrange your catering, entertainment and bar requirements and can also arrange for the boat to be decorated for your special day, including a "Just Married" banner on the back of the boat. Alternatively you can bring on your own caterers, band, DJ or decoraters for a small surcharge.   More details of the additional services we offer can be found below.

Each of our boats has a bar on each level, selling drinks at reasonable pub prices.  Drinks can be purchased by individuals (cash bar) or an account bar can be organised.  Reception drinks are a nice way to welcome your guests and can be organised in advance. Eating on the Thames is easy with our in-house caterers who can provide classy canapés, a simple buffet or a more lavish Silver Service meal for your guests, click here for all menus . Alternatively you can bring your own catering onto our river boats for a small surcharge. 

Full size authentic gaming equipment and professional croupiers for an evening of fun and sophistication - 1 table £480 (£400 + VAT, subsequent tables £204 (£170 + VAT. Prices are for 3 hours playing during the evening (please note prices increase to cover parking for day time events and prices will be subject to a seasonal increase in December, please ask for more information)

Guests get an instant copy of the pictures to take away. Golden Flame 100-240 pax

2 internal saloons and a large sundeck make the Golden Flame boat suitable for all types of celebrations on the river Thames for 100-240 passengers. Uniquely among our vessels the lower saloon can be closed off, ideal for smaller groups who want two distinct areas for their function.

Golden Star 40-120 pax

The Golden Star is the smallest of our river Thames boats but that doesn't mean she is lacking in character. One large open saloon with space for up to 120 guests, plus a sundeck means she is perfectly suited for birthdays, anniversaries, family get-togethers and much more.

Golden Jubilee 120-240 pax

The most spacious of our fleet the Golden Jubilee is laid out over 2 decks and has a sun deck capable of holding 150 with ease. Extremely versatile, the Golden Jubilee is ideal for all types of family boat parties and celebrations on the River Thames.

Golden Sunrise 80-240 pax

With a snug saloon downstairs, and large open dancefloor/ eating area upstairs the Golden Sunrise is perfectly suited to a wide variety of family celebrations for up to 240 guests. Her split level sun deck to the rear is just the icing on the cake.

The venue hire fee for weddings at Greenwich Yacht Club ranges from £1500 to £4000, depending on the time of year and day of the week. The club’s Total Dry Hire Package is £5000 and includes tables, chairs, and use of kitchen and bar facilities.

Wedding Receptions

Large panoramic windows, versatile layouts and London’s ever changing backdrop make our vessels the perfect venue for a late-afternoon or evening wedding reception. M.V Avontuur can sit up to 128 guests for formal occasions or 180 guests for standing receptions. M.V London Rose carry 120 guests either for standing receptions or seated can sit 72 guests in her lower saloon & 48 guests in her upper salon (120 in total).

Our vessels are also available for wedding transfers. We can move 12 guests in style on-board our executive private launch, M.V Churchill or 246 guests on our larger Class V vessels M.V Avontuur IV & M.V London Rose.

We do not accept the following charters on-board our vessels:

Football or sporting transfers, 18th or 21st birthdays or functions involving entertainment or activities of a sexual nature. We also do not accept bookings for ticketed events such as club nights or tribute nights. We also do not allow clients to charge guests to attend events on-board our vessels without prior authorisation from Viscount Cruises.

If you’re planning your Greenwich Yacht Club wedding and are looking for a relaxed & professional wedding photographer then you have landed on the right page! I was so happy when Lara & Kirk asked me to be their official wedding photographer and I was even more excited when they told me we’d be taking a boat trip for some extra special wedding photos!

This wedding was all about fun, which allowed me to capture lots of great natural moments – my absolute favourite way to shoot. Alongside this I was also able to get creative with all the different areas and unique places for couple photos.

Greenwich Yacht Club – The River Rooms

Greenwich Yacht Club Wedding Venue offers 2 different venues. The Clubhouse & The River Rooms.

The River Rooms is the yacht clubs most popular wedding venue space. Raised up from the boatyard it offers beautiful views of the river and thanks to the floor to ceiling windows it also allows for an abundance of natural light (A wedding photographers dream!)

The surrounding balcony allows for both you and your guests to fully enjoy the view and even get some scenic photos. This venue is also comprised of a main hall, lounge bar and outdoor terrace – again a great spot for wedding photos 🙂

A Boat Trip along the Thames!

With maritime connections in the family it was important to capture some wedding photos in front of The National Maritime Museum. For this Lara and Kirk opted for a boat ride direct from the venue, which I have to say was lots of fun!

Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park

The Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park is located next to The Greenwich Yacht Club, this makes it an ideal location to nip away to for some extra couple photos.

Ecology Park contains two freshwater lakes surrounded by marshland, a small alder woodland and is home to a fascinating array of wildlife.

The Boat Yard

The boat yard makes for a great and unique location for both couple photos and group photos.

Museum of London Docklands

This striking Georgian building was first built in 1802 and is now the only Grade I building in Canary Wharf. It is full of original wooden features and exposed brickwork but also has a great contemporary twist to it. There are four rooms that can be used for your ceremony and wedding reception, the Galleries is a small space perfect for more intimate weddings and it is full of history. The larger room is the Rum Store a lovely romantic room full of original features and can hold up to 240 guests. The Muscovado Hall is also another stunning room that can hold up to 200 guests and lastly the Quayside Room can hold up to 100 guests it’s a beautiful room that overlooks the West India Quay. Fulham Palace Weddings

This Grade I listed building is simply fabulous, situated on the banks of the River Thames and full of history and character. The botanical gardens are beautifully landscaped and will offer you some amazing wedding photos. There are 4 licensed ceremony rooms to choose from, the Great Hall seats 110 guests and has wooden panelling featured throughout the room with a gothic fireplace, Bishop Terrick’s Drawing Room seats 50 guests and is an elegant room with views of the south lawn, Bishop Terrick Dining Room seats 25 guests and offers a more intimate wedding and has tall Georgian windows and a featured fireplace. Lastly, Bishop Sherlock’s Room seats 80 guests and was restored in 2006, this room has large windows creating a light and airy room. You can also have a wedding blessing in the Victorian chapel, this can accommodate up to 90 guests. Fulham Palace wedding reception , you have a choice of six rooms, 2 courtyards and a marquee to choose from.

WEOTT I at West End on the Thames

Step aboard and set sail for your wedding on the River Thames and allow London’s skyline and lights to become your wedding backdrop. This great boat has a large open top deck that spans across the roof of the boat and offers plenty of room for standing guests or it can be transformed into a lovely seating area perfect for your guests to eat, drink and chat. I thought the food here was exceptional. It's not a huge menu but the dishes served were tasty. The ceviche starter was Delicious as was the lamb, best I've tasted in a long time. The boat does rock but the view makes up for it. So much happening on the river evening time. I would have given it 5 star but the starters didn't come up together.

After two visits I thought I should be in a better position to review it. I have to say, both times they were brilliant! As it's in a prime location, on a boat(!), in the river(!), I thought it would be super touristy, surviving off online offers, etc. My first visit was for a girls lunch. We had afternoon tea with bubbles! The finger sandwiches were nice - there was beef, cucumber and egg may and ham and mustard, a lot of nice cakes and freshly made scones. They had their bottoms cut off and when we asked about them (as we were curious), the staff apologised and said it was because they were slightly burnt and we were offered a bottle of prosecco! There was definitely enough food! My second visit was just a few weeks ago. We went for the lunch menu. We had Gratin of Baby Leeks, Quail Egg, Parmesan Crisp, Watercress and Mustard Dressing, Langoustine with Chili and Lemon Butter, Toasted Sourdough, and Smoked Haddock Fish Cake, Parsley Sauce to start and then for mains we ordered the Fish and Chips and Slow Roasted Pork Belly Garlic & Fennel, Slaw. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted REAL good but not as memorable as the fish and chips. The fish and chips was REALLY good. It was so fresh and the fish was really well seasoned. It was huge but not too much batter and the batter wasn't overly greasy either. I could SO eat that again! The service was brilliant both times. The staff are smiley and friendly. The setting in the restaurant is beautiful although the toilets need a little updating. Beware that the river can be a bit choppy on windy days. Worth visiting if you want a slightly special lunch!

Ive been here twice, both times for brunch. My first visit was in February and today's my second time. Nothing has change. The food is good, excellent service and the boat still rocks! If you're bored of dining on land, this place has got to be one of the more interesting places to have a drink or meal. It has a good scenic view of the Waterloo bridge and London eye on a nice sunny day. It has a pleasant atmosphere and definitely an enjoyable experience. Perfect for brunch, lunch and tea. Or even a casual cocktail drink for a change. On occasions you'd get the boats rocking slightly due to the waves (nothing violent, so no worries) which makes it all that more exciting. I got the 28 day roast beef on my first visit, requested it to be cooked medium rare and it came MEDIUM RARE. The beef was really nice and tender, the sauce was perfect. On my second visit, I decided to order the Pork roast instead. PLEASE GET THE PORK ROAST! You'd have wait slightly longer (around 10-15mins) to get the meat only because they cook it from scratch. The SKIN is so CRISPY and the meat is really juicy! Since it's Spring and summer is approaching, I'd highly recommend you to try something new and have a nice dining experience here.

Met some friends here for a drink after they had a meal and while they said that their meal was decent but slightly on the pricey side I can only comment on the drinks. The selection wasn't very extensive and I ended up opting for just a beer which was pretty average. The decor was OK and once you got used to the swaying of the boat it wasn't too noticeable until something went past on the river. If you are in the area and fancy a drink you have very limited options so between The Yacht and Walkabout this would win hands down!

I went with a work colleague. We walked there from kings cross/ st pancras and it was starting to rain so we ducked in. There were only two other customers when we arrived so we were a bit nervous. Service started out a bit slow but the second course was timely after the first. All the food was good. We started with the hummus platter (huge) and the scallops appetizer (recommend for one). Both were good. I had one of the specials, a filet which was quite good. My colleague had the risotto which she enjoyed. The wines by the glass were limited but the Malbec Shiraz we both chose was good. The boat is tied to a dock and is stable but you will feel it vibrate and sway a bit in the wind and current. The dining room was a pleasant temperature but it was noticeably cooler in the restrooms downstairs. Our waitress was a beautiful young lady from Russia who was very sweet. We were greeted at the door by a very personable young man. Overall an enjoyable and unique experience.

I booked a table here a few weeks in advance and as luck would have it, two days before dining there, Living Social posted a voucher for the place. The boat is a stones throw from Temple underground so easy to find and if need berun to get the last tube home. The boat itself is in a fixed state, the only movement you feel occurs when another large boat passes it. The waves carry through and the boat shudders slightly. I had no horrible 'at sea' moments though. The views are wonderful as you would expect being moored at Embankment. The day I went, the weather was cold (Easter bank holiday Saturday) but unless you go to the restrooms downstairs, you wouldn't know it was cold. I arrived 40 Mins early with the intention of sitting at the bar till our table was ready. It was a 9pm sitting and the table was already free so waited for my friends to arrive. The only reason I couldn't give this venue the full 5 stars was because I waited for so long to be approached for a drink order, I flagged a waitress down to get the drinks menu and was served what seemed like a long time after my arrival. The menu is varied, catering to all tastes, the most expensive thing you'll find is the Chateaubriand at almost £50 designed to share between 2. Unfortunately this was out of stock during my visit but judging by the steak I had, I suspect it would have been wonderful. I chose the Mackrel pate to start which was wonderful. I had the 8oz steak medium rare and cooked to perfection. It was soft and flavoursome and I'd have it again. The desert choices were also lovely, I had the Apple and mango crumble with sorbet but was so full from dinner, I don't feel I enjoyed it as well as I could have. The ambiance was just right, easy going music (Magic FM style) in the background and friendly waiting staff. We sat at the 'head table', varying slightly from the other tables simply with what looked like more elegant chairs and a round table. The guy that presented us with the bill kindly took pictured of our group and even though we were the last table to leave, they were in no obvious hurry to get rid of us. We left very relaxed having had a wonderful meal which, in all honesty, we would have paid full price for. A meal here will not leave you disappointed.

A unique venue inspired by Winston Churchill’s love of travel and literature with feature bookshelves and curated photographs, The Library measures 667 sq ft (62.1 sq m) and connects to the Chartwell Ballroom and Foyer.

The Gallery

Newly built in 2021 with direct outside access on the ground floor, The Gallery is flooded with natural daylight and measures 1,565 sq ft (145.4 sq m), with the option to connect directly to the adjacent Studio Suites.

Marlborough

Located on the second floor, light-filled and neutrally designed Marlborough Suite offers 706 sq ft (65.5 sq m) of space designed to be used either individually or in conjunction with Blenheim Suite for meetings and dining.

Chartwell Ballroom

Situated on the ground floor with convenient dual access and the option to directly connect to The Library, the Chartwell Ballroom is the largest event space at 2,607 sq ft (242.2 sq m), accommodating up to 250 guests.

Located on the second floor, Blenheim Suite offers natural daylight in the 615 sq ft (57 sq m) room, designed to be used either individually or in conjunction with Marlborough Suite for meetings and dining.

Studio Suites

Newly renovated in 2021, The Studio Suites are comprised of Studio I, II and III on the ground floor, combining as one larger room at 1,252 sq ft (116.4 sq m), or partitioned as three separate rooms used individually or in pairs.

Princess Anne turns heads in waist-defining cropped wedding guest jacket and feathers

The princess royal was radiant for her brother prince edward's wedding.

Princess Anne looked radiant at her brother Prince Edward's wedding with Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999. 

The Princess Royal joined family members such as the late Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Prince Andrew at St George's Chapel in London for the ceremony. Anne looked gorgeous in an apple green ensemble, including a fitted column dress with a collared jacket layered over the top. 

The cropped jacket, which emphasised her waist, featured delicate lace detailing on the sleeves and pearl buttons that tied in with her elegant accessories.

She added a pearl four-strand necklace and drop earrings, as well as a gold watch and her sapphire engagement ring from her second husband Sir Timothy Laurence , whom she married in Scotland in December 1992.

Anne's lime green feather hair accessory stood in stark contrast to her long brunette hair, which had been twisted into her classic chignon.

Anne's colourful wedding guest dresses

The royal's colour palette was different from the ones she chose for her other siblings' weddings. Six years earlier, Anne was pictured sitting next to Princess Diana at Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's wedding wearing a lemon-yellow lacy dress.

Back in 1981 when Charles married his first wife, the late Princess Diana, she stepped out in a Maureen Barker white midi dress that also featured the popular 80s colour with a yellow floral print and a matching fascinator, which  she recycled for the Duke of Gloucester's daughter Lady Rose Windsor's wedding in 2008.

When asked about her tendency to recycle her wardrobe, the Princess said: "A good suit goes on forever. If it is properly made and has a classic look, you can go on wearing it ad infinitum. Economy is bred into me. My parents believe that things are not to be wasted. That lesson does last."

Anne's love life

Princess Anne shares two children Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall with her first husband Mark Phillips, whom she met in 1968 in Mexico City.

He proposed in 1973 with a sapphire and diamond engagement ring, and they got married at Westminster Abbey later that year. 

After 16 years of marriage, the pair announced their separation in August 1989 and divorced in 1992 – the same year Anne eloped with her second husband Timothy.

The couple met in 1986 on the Royal Yacht Britannia when Laurence was a commander in the Royal Navy. They exchanged "personal letters" which were stolen in 1989, but the details of their contents have never been revealed.

"The stolen letters were addressed to the Princess Royal by Commander Timothy Laurence, the Queen’s Equerry. We have nothing to say about the contents of personal letters sent to Her Royal Highness by a friend which were stolen and which are the subject of a police investigation," a statement from Buckingham Palace read.

Since the Church of England did not allow remarriages after divorce, the pair tied the knot at Crathie Kirk church in Scotland in December 1992 in front of just 30 guests.

Timothy made a rare comment about Anne's former marriage in 2020, joking on the ITV documentary Anne: The Princess Royal at 70: "It's quite amusing that she married first an army officer and then a naval officer. So there must be something about the military that attracts her."
