Jason has very competitive pricing that is well worth it. Communication was very easy. He provided me with a very simple list to find a captain (which was the piece I was most worried about). The boat came with ice and cups which made it so easy for hosting. Had a great time!

Yes! Listing a boat is completely free. We only take a commission when your boat is rented. We only make money when you do!

What if I'm not comfortable having a renter drive my boat?

If you are not comfortable having a renter drive your boat, we have an expansive network of licensed and experienced captains. Once your boat is listed, you can filter through our network of captains and favorite captains in your area that you would like to operate your boat.

Our Guests are important. As always, our boats are cleaned and sanitized after every rental. Our rentals are private. This means that only your group w ill be on a boat during the rental.

Our picnic area is provided for our guests as they wait to board their boats. When people check in, they wait in our picnic area. Oftentimes there are children in that area that can see and hear conversations. Please be respectful to those around you by limiting the use of profanity .

There is a Six (6) Person maximum on the 18ft pontoon and a Ten (10) person max o n the 22ft pontoon. This is the total number of bodies on the boat including children, infants, and adults.

Please do not show up with more people than stated above. Our staff cannot make exceptions and it puts them in a difficult situation, especially when trying to check in other Guests. If your group has more than the maximum persons allowed, we cannot let your group out and we will not refund any money paid.

How much does it cost to rent a yacht in chicago.

Can We Bring More People Than We Planned?

The answer to this question depends on the situation. However, in general, if the number of guests is still lower than the maximum number of people the yacht can handle, it is usually alright to bring them. If it exceeds this number, then it is not permitted. 

What Safety Practices Are In Place?

Numerous safety practices are in place on all of our yacht rides. We follow all relevant laws relating to yacht operations to keep you safe. In addition, our Captains are USCG licensed, and the crew is well-trained and will address any potentially dangerous situation in a way that will keep you safe. 

What If the Weather Is Bad?

If the weather is bad on the day of your yacht rental, we can work to reschedule it based on our  cancellation policy . We’ll provide you with a charter voucher for the same amount of the yacht you paid for. You can then use this to schedule another yacht rental within one year.

Where do I board my yacht charter in Chicago?

Chicago has 20+ marinas in and around the downtown area. Each of our vessels is docked at different locations throughout downtown. Be sure to check each yacht page for more information.

Where do I find a Captain for my trip?

Anchor only uses USCG licensed captains for all of our yacht rentals. You may select from  our approved list of vetted local captains who are experienced with Chicago’s Great Lakes and waterways. 

When is Chicago’s prime yachting season?

Yachting weather is typically extremely favorable from early May through most of October. 

Can we bring food and beverages (including alcohol) onboard?

Most certainly you can bring food and beverages, including alcohol for your outing. However, liquids that stain, such as red wine, cranberry juice, etc. are expressly prohibited. Visit our FAQ page for more details or inquire with your concierge. 

Can our concierge provide catering and other services?

Don’t want the hassle of bringing your own food and beverage? Don’t worry. Our concierge can arrange for food and beverage to be supplied from Chicago’s top caterers. Need music or a live DJ? Please keep the following information in mind when making your reservation.

WHEN AND WHERE?

We charter 3 times per day leaving from Belmont Harbor: 10am - 2pm 2:45pm – 6:45pm 7:30pm – 11:30 pm

>>>Start as low as $250 per hour on weekdays with a 4 hour minimum per session. >>>All our Yachts are subject to a $750 Security Deposit which will be refunded following business day if no claims are made. >>>Cancellation Policy: 15 Business days prior the reservation date: Full refund (subject to 5% service fee). 14 Days or fewer - no refund.

Not included in the price, however we will provide you with the pre-approved Captain list to choose from and hire.

Not included in the price and it is $200 for 4-hour session. This fee is collected by the owner upon your booking via QuickPay/Zelle.

To ensure everyone's safety, the Captain has the authority to deem whether weather conditions are charterable or not. In the event conditions are deemed uncharterable, we will issue a rescheduling credit to the Charterer on a charter of equal or lesser value, based on availability. All rescheduling credits must be used the same season the original booking was made. 

US Coast Guard regulations

Please note, per US Coast Guard regulations, the Bareboat maximum capacity for rental is 13 passengers plus Captain and we will be able to accommodate only 13 people plus Captain. If you have more than 13 people in your group, we can add another yacht for you.

Client MUST Haves

• If driving Yourself, you MUST be an educated boater and have one of the following: State Boater’s License or have taken the National Boater’s Safety Course and scored 90%+ on the exam with proof of performance presented to us
• (2) years of proven boater’s experience. 
• MATCHING State ID & Credit Card onboard DURING RENTAL
• $600 CASH for Damage / Late Return / Clean-up Fee – DEPOSIT, if DAMAGE occurs, we will hold cash until damage is resolved by the Client.
• Every Client, Driver who causes DAMAGE to our PONTOONS, DOCK, OR PROPERTY , Client WILL pay for the replacement parts, towing costs, installation labor costs, and All other costs including legal fees to restore our pontoon, our docks and property to its original condition. If the Client hires a Captain, the Client is responsible for the damage the hired captain causes. Client should make sure hired captain has insurance and that they stay in touch with the captain to resolve the issue. Just because you may have found the captain on our website (those listed captains work for themselves as outside contractors), you as the renter must resolve any issues with the captain’s performance of duties and boat damage between the two of you. We will look to the client for the immediate resolution of the boat restoration.
• Clients are self-insured for damage , so reach out to your homeowners policy, auto policy or renters insurance policy to learn about your boat rental extension so you are covered or you’re out of pocket on all damage. In addition, “ any rentals after dusk”, if you don’t have a state boater’s license to show us, we suggest you hire a professional captain to avoid any damage or late return fees.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.
