Awesome place to eat if you like eastern European food, in an eastern European atmosphere. Waitress took a minute to get to the table but I suspect it was because I was looking over the menu for so long trying to decide what I wanted to get. Ended up getting the House Pashtet, which my night was beef. I know there has been chicken some nights. it was served with crunchy bread to spread it on and a soda cracker type thing along with some apple sauce to top off the bite. Very good if you like pate. Got the Grandma's Golubsty which I know as Golumki... cabbage rolls. These were very good with the right meat to rice ratio. Ive been to places that serve you a "huge" roll to discover that's because it 90% rice and 10% meat. This seemed very equal and had great flavoring. Came in a typical tomato sauce that also doubled as a "soup" as you finished eating and the bits and pieces were floating around. Got the sweet blintzes to take back to the hotel. They we alright. I think Im imagining blintzes as sweeter, maybe its the American palette expecting something for desert to be. They have great cream stuffing and included sweet cream and a cranberry port sauce which was really good. Overall great experience and I will be coming back as I come in to town on business and can make my way over here to Saint Paul

Stopped in for some appetizers and drinks with a friend. The weather was nice so we sat on the patio and it was so nice. The outdoor space is large and has a covered section. The staff was great, frequently checking in and making sure our neees were met. They were amazing. The cocktails were also very reasonably priced. On top of that they tasted great. Along with my drinks I shared the Moscow Fries and Mushroom Blinchiki. I really enjoyed the blinchiki, the flavors were so good, and the fennel didn't overpower which is something I was worried about. Typing this up, i'm ready to head over and order another one now! The moscow fries were also tasty the dill wasn't super overpowering and the sauces were very good. I can't wait to stop by again!

I've never had Russian food before so I was really exited about this restaurant. I went for dinner on a Wednesday and they seemed pretty busy but I was able to get sat immediately. They have an amazing outdoor area with both covered and uncovered spaces. The servers were very attentive and made sure to check in on me pretty frequently. The food was better than I expected. I got Yazik (braised beef tongue) mainly because I wanted to try something different. The meat was extremely tender and cut like butter. It tasted very well marinated as well. The portion was pretty big (around 6 thin slices of meat) sitting on top of mashed potatoes. I'd definitely recommend this dish. I'd also recommend trying one of their vodkas! I got one infused with horseradish and it was surprisingly good and very smooth.
I was born & grew up in Moscow so I am familiar with the food. I found food here to be mediocre at best. Staffed cabbage rolls were dry, bland. Siberian pelmeni ok. Beef stroganoff bland. Khachapuri were tasty but I've eaten better. Medovik was good not great. Horseradish vodka was great. Service was efficient but not warm. I was underwhelmed by our experience here and I am surprised by the ratings. Philadelphia has far better Russian restaurants ( and of course, NYC).

I met a group here for an informal event. We reserved a table on the patio. It was absolutely beautiful. Our table was on a porch, although there is sitting in the open or under umbrellas as well. Comfy patio chairs greeted us for conversations over cocktails. The cocktails you can get are endless. I opted for a Cosmonaut Cosmo and channeled my inner Carrie Bradshaw. It was so good. Loved the vibe and outdoor seating.
We came in for a midafternoon bite and a tipple. The drinks and beers were so satisfying. They have a lot of Russian themed cocktails or takes on classics. The food runs from something for any American to things only a Russian or Northern European could want. Yes, I have the herring and a side of cabbage. We had their take on escargot; the cheese on top was too much for me. Experimentation leads to discovery so hit and a miss. Staff was young and delightful. They were quick too. The ambiance was mod European-Russian inside. Cool. We sat outside on the deck. This is the place to me. A great mix of folks outside enjoying the sun. If I lived here this would be in my regular rotation.
We made a reservation for the patio on a Sunday night. Food was great! I was pretty disappointed in the service, and I feel like because their tip is automatically factored in this affected the attentiveness and speed of service. 3 of us had sodas and had to flag our server down to get ONE refill. It took a long time to place an order for apps and we had to flag down a bus boy to grab her so we could finally order food.
Steak and Vareniki
I came here for one major reason: to finally try khachapuri (a bready boat filled with cheese). I was able to enjoy that at Moscow on the Hill, and so much more. We visited at 11am on a Sunday. We parked at a nearby park that, on a spring-like day, was full of families enjoying the playground. There is also a YMCA adjacent to the restaurant that has available parking that, during our visit, had a posted cost of $5; a sign at the entrance of the restaurant advised that guests inform them if they used the YMCA lot. We were the second people in the door that day, and the first to order. The only complaint I can make about our visit is that the service was incredibly slow, especially for an almost empty restaurant. We were never even asked if we wanted to order more drinks. There was about a 15-20 minute gap between our appetizers and the delivery of our entrees. The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere. Lots of art, lamps, and heavy curtains. The food is really the star here. Everything we had was incredible. For our appetizers, we did khachapuri and fried pelmeni. The khachapuri lived up to all expectations--this dish is a must for anyone who loves hot bread and melted cheese! The pelmeni were great, too, different than any other dumplings I've had. My husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich. He found the meat perfectly cooked and moist, and really enjoyed the fries. I had the Kamchatka salad, which had perfectly cooked flaky salmon along with greens, green beans, potatoes, and a mélange of other flavors and textures, all made even better by a fantastic dressing. I've never had a salad quite like it! Really fantastic stuff, and it's a large serving, too. The only downside to that was that I was too full to order a dessert, but that was probably just as well, as the slowness of the meal meant we needed to leave, anyway. I would absolutely come here again to try more of the food.

Love the atmosphere, a little expensive but delicious. I love this area of Saint Paul and I really appreciate they have parking.
Great service and great atmosphere to enjoy authentic Russian food! They have no shortage of vodka options as well!
