Green Yachts and Italstyle Yacht Design present 48m Tetrosomus 45 concept

Italstyle Yacht Design and Green Yachts have teamed up to present a 47.55 metre superyacht concept inspired by the deep-sea dwelling Tetrosomus boxfish, native to the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

The Tetrosomus 45 is conceived as a hardy explorer with a design intended to mimic the exoskeleton of its namesake fish. Built in steel and aluminium, an aggressive profile plays with different geometries and is complete with a high and imposing bow designed for tackling adverse sea conditions.

Biomimicry forms the foundations of the concept’s design and can be seen elsewhere throughout the vessel: the use of hexagons, for example, is another cue taken from the natural world and is inspired by the scales of the Tetrosomus fish.

Developed in collaboration with Cheyenne Yachts, the concept spans three decks and is offered in two different configurations: Ushuaia with a high stern with bulwarks that fold down on either side and Capri with an open stern creating an open-air beach club with a swimming pool protected by high windbreak sides. In both versions, the concept has a beam of 9.8 metres and a draft of 2.9 metres.

The Tetrosomus 45 can accommodate 10 guests in five cabins as well as 12 crew across six cabins. A full-beam master cabin sits on the main deck and features windows with branded grating, able to mask the inside view from the outside for privacy and solar shading. Also on the main deck is the main saloon, with a formal dining area that can be separated by a central partition.

Meanwhile, on the lower deck, four guest cabins feature entertainment systems and en suite facilities. The upper deck wheelhouse and private saloon benefit from a panoramic view, while a look towards the bow gives a privileged view of the navigation area.

Interiors have been styled in collaboration with Valeria Eva Rossi and CPRN Homood and the concept will sit below the 500GT threshold.

The yacht is envisioned with Hybrid-RR IMO III compliant engines, offering a top speed of 15 knots with a cruising speed of 10.5 knots. The Tetrosomus 45 can navigate in zero-emission mode and is equipped with a low-noise geo-positioning system for minimal environmental impact. This system will also allow the yacht to moor in areas of South France where a ban on anchoring has been realised in 2022 to preserve the sea bed.
