Italian yacht design firm Italstyle is working on a new superyacht, featuring a V- shaped aluminum hull, for Italian yacht builders Cheyenne Shipyards.

The length overall (LOA) for the new superyacht is 28m. The yacht is designed to be a fast planing vessel with a V-shaped aluminum hull.

The yacht is designed to reach a top speed of 40 knots and cruising speed of 27 knots powered by two 2,200hp engines and two 30-18kW generators. The yacht features accommodation for eight guests with a master, VIP and two twin cabins.

The boat displays minimal design with a glass protection in the stern. The flybridge is designed to give passengers a sense of proximity to the sea.

Italstyle uses natural materials for floors, ceilings and walls finishing in order to reduce the usage of chemical and aggressive products.

Tetrosomos 45 // Green Yachts

Green yachts, italstyle yacht design (exterior design),  created the tetrosomus 45 with interior design and furnitures by cprn homood. furthermore, paintings and carpets by valeria eva rossi for the yacht brand cheyenne yachts..

The Tetrosomus 45 has a length of 47,55 and features accommodation for ten guests in five cabins and a crew of 12 in six cabins on the lower deck. The full-beam owner’s cabin, salon, and dining are on the main deck. The upper deck contains a wheelhouse with a private salon and an outdoor dining area. The hybrid propulsion has a maximum speed of 15 knots, while the cruising speed is 10.5 knots. The propulsion system also powers a geo-positioning system “to anchor” without using the anchor in areas where anchors are forbidden.

Tetrosomos 45 Green Yachts

“The design of this yacht draws inspiration, as can be seen from the name of the project, from the Tetrosomus, a fish not very well known, with a very original shape with clear and defined geometries, lives in the depths of the sea, over 200 meter where the pressure is very high. And for this reason, nature has endowed it with a very robust exoskeleton structure. Biomimetics is the basis of the development of the project, where the form justifies the function and becomes aesthetics and a characterizing architectural element. The yacht was developed starting from an exoskeleton, like that of the fish; the outermost part in steel to protect the innermost part in aluminum, a hexagonal reticular structure characterizes the aesthetics of the design of the perimeter surfaces.”

The concept of the yacht can be customized. The price starts at 19.6m Euro at the Italian facility of Cheyenne Yachts.

Meet the next generation of Italian yacht owners, builders and designers

Allegra Bassani Antivari

Photography: Jonathan Glynn-Smith; Styling: Fiona Rubie & Stefano Ricci Team; Words: Risa Merl

2018 saw the last edition of the World Superyacht Awards to be held in Florence. To marked the occasion we dressed the next generation of Italian superyacht owners , designers and builders in the finest Italian style and asked them what they think the future holds for the industry...

Simplicity is the epitome of Italian style and Italy wouldn’t be what it is if we didn’t have the sea surrounding us, almost like an island. We need to find new solutions in yachting, including new hull shapes for motor yachts, better connectivity on board and increased environmental awareness all round – including better education for those who enter the yachting industry, beyond their passion for the sea.

Stefano de Vivo

I’ve been taken on sailboats or a RIB – anything that floats – since I was a baby. Then I started sailing and became an instructor by the time I was 14 and later studied naval architecture. Yachting has more or less stayed the same for the last 50 years – prioritising comfort at sea – but now people are using their yachts differently. Why work in an office when you can do it on a yacht in a beautiful place and then get off and explore?

Everything is pointing to more efficient ways of doing things – optimising. Not just fuel, but also in volumes and the way space is designed. In Italy, our history, present and future have always been about design art. In general, the purchase of yachts is still very emotional, and that’s not going to change.

My first time on a sailboat was before I was one year old, and since then I have spent at least one month every year on a boat. Yachting has inspired my work as a fashion designer – a yacht has pure and elegant lines, yet intricate and advanced structures and technologies. Italians blend beauty and functionality by using an intelligent design and taking a user-centred focus.

Sustainability is important to tomorrow’s yacht owner, which I find inspiring. I design jewellery using leather remnants from the luxury fashion industry. We need to explore ways of being more eco-friendly and up-cycling in yacht building as well. Tech is the future. The yacht industry will innovate its technology offering, while maintaining its heritage. As my father always says, “We [ Nautor’s Swan ] always look for evolution and not revolution. The innovation is welcome, but only when it is well tested and safe for sailing.”

I discovered yachting during my studies and soon understood my real passion was to design boats. Italians are surrounded by beauty: in landscapes, cities, fashion and food. The mix of tradition and invention – this is what modern yacht owners really want. Yachts need to tell a story, whether it’s a personal story or a design story. In 20 years from now, Italian-built yachts will be more sculptural, sleek and high-tech.

Frederico Fiorentino

My father has always been a boating enthusiast. He took me to the Genoa boat show at age five, and I decided from an early age I wanted to design boats. What makes Italians so stylish? The Renaissance, of course!

Innovation will come in the form of electronics, propulsion and hull design. If you look at pioneer yachts like Adler ( Baglietto 1987) or Blue Eyes (now Blue East , Baglietto 2004) you realise that 15 to 20-year-old lines are still a strong reference today. Lower running costs, bigger interior spaces and glass, glass, glass – that is the view of tomorrow. Plus more refits.

Cecilia Virone

I’m a passionate cruising and racing sailor and watersports lover, and I have a degree in yacht and powercraft design from Southampton Solent University. Italian yacht building is becoming more client-focused, rather than product-oriented. As a direct result, semi-custom and custom building are becoming more popular. Tomorrow’s yacht owner wants high-quality products, both in terms of performance and craftsmanship. They will look for outstanding customer care service throughout their lifetime.

Eco-friendly solutions, informed by technology, will direct the industry in the future. The yacht industry needs to blend more design from the luxury world, in particular automotive, real estate and private jets.

Nicolò Piredda

I grew up in Sardinia sailing on small dinghies and fell in love with design at an early age – I have just combined my passions. Italians love the sea – we learn to smell the sea and hear the sound of the waves before anything else.

Tomorrow’s owner wants tailor-made solutions for each situation. The new designers will design customisable spaces – multifunctional areas able to change the intended use at any moment. Flexibility between in and outdoor, privacy and opening, ushering in a new era of “custom”. The future is about the domotics (smart home) revolution, as well as more glass and open spaces. We will speak and interact with the yacht as we already do with our phones in easier onboard controls.

Claudio Corvino

I am a sailor, and yachting and the sea is a passion as well as my job – I couldn’t live without being surrounded by boats. Flexibility and ease – these are the things that tomorrow’s owner focuses on. They want to get rid of the problems connected to yacht ownership. Clients have less time to use the boats than in the past, so this time has to be spent in the best way.

Yachts should not look like floating real estate. Tech and design will always get updated but design must not lose its soul. The super sailing yacht market is a big opportunity – being a sailor, I hope that it will develop. We need new products and designs to meet the needs of a new generation of owners.

Italians pay particular attention to style – it’s in our DNA, it’s part of our history, heritage, culture and tradition. We will see a huge improvement in efficiency over the next two decades, thanks to technological advances. Consequently, Italian yards will arrive closer to the quality of northern European shipyards. I’d love to find more solutions for transparency – for invisible portholes and radar domes.

Should a contract be signed the yard is suggesting that the build will take 26 months to complete. As it is meant to be an explorer type vessel construction is expected to be made in steel for the hull and aluminium for the superstructure. At least from a stylistic point-of-view, the exterior design lends to the explorer type with a tug-like bow and long aft main deck...again similar to a tug. The superstructure contains the main, upper and sun decks.

italstyle yacht design

Although her long aft hull is reminiscent of a tug, it won't be a working area. It will all be a leisure experience in this area with al-fresco dining, layout pads and fold-down bulwarks. In fact, fold-outs and shell doors is a theme on this design. Outside of the main salon on the main deck the bulwarks also fold-down to improve the views out towards the water. Up front moving towards the bow area there is a shell-down that will fold-down on command to form a balcony for the main suite onboard.

italstyle yacht design

Within her estimated 390 GT interior volume the yacht is expected to sleep up to 11 guests in 7 cabins. There are four regular guest-level cabins also two VIP-standard cabins along with the primary accommodation for the owner. With efficiency in mind, the yacht is only crewed by a handful with accommodation being provided for just four on this 43-meter vessel.

italstyle yacht design

As an explorer her long-range capability is where she shines. Being powered by MAN diesel engines each rated at around 900 horse power the vessel won't be a speedster but focus more on efficiency. Her maximum speed will be 13-knots and cruise at 11-knots. Dial her back even further to approximately 8-knots on the range extends to around 4,000 nautical miles which is sufficient to aid her ocean-crossing exploits.

italstyle yacht design

The bridge takes residence on the highest portion of the interior superstructure but there is also provision for a navigation station on the fore of the flybridge/sundeck. Of course this can be changed if the new owner prefers to have the vessel without an external nav station. Besides the opportunity for a secondary nav station, the guests have the luxury of relaxing on the highest deck too. Partially covered by a hard top, there are cocktail tables, and sunpads for them to enjoy the surrounding views. There is a jacuzzi located on the aft upper deck flanked by sunpads to round-out the deck experiences onboard. For more information: KRC Marine GROUP Evliya Çelebi, Tersaneler Cd. riva 56' rivale yacht reveals masterpiece of italian craftsmanship on water

Riva 56′ rivale open yacht.

For a brand synonymous with quality craftsmanship and high performance on water, the Riva 56’ Rivale yacht is another sculptural revelation for ocean-goers that still packs a surprise. Celebrating timeless elegance, its design combines unique styling, cutting-edge technology, and exceptional performance that merges artisan details with innovative features.

dynamic, elegant, and sporty exterior design

The Riva 56’ Rivale’s open yacht design expands the iconic Italian brand ’s fleet, embodying dynamism, elegance, and sportiness. Created by Officina Italiana Design and both the Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee and Engineering Department, this 56-foot masterpiece features large glazed windows, flush portholes, and a sleek aquamarine line that highlights its striking metallic exterior. The use of premium materials – high gloss mahogany, natural teak, stainless steel, and superior leather – ensures every detail is luxurious.

A unique windshield not only protects the cockpit but also completes the aerodynamic profile of the yacht. The cockpit’s main deck lounge offers a spacious sitting area with an L-shaped sofa and teak dining table. This convivial space extends in the front and back to create a seamless flow of elegance and comfort: a large sun pad facing rearwards; and a raised dormeuse in the forward section, shaded by an electro-hydraulically operated bimini top, and framed by a stainless steel and a vintage-inspired warning horn.

high performance on the sea

The bridge is equipped with state-of-the-art control, monitoring, and navigation systems featuring touchscreen displays. Behind the control station, a well-appointed cabin unit includes all guests need with a bar, practical waste collection containers, and storage compartments integrated into the helm seat. From here, the captain controls either the twin 1000hp or 1200hp MAN engines with V-drive propulsion systems. This propels the yacht to cruising speeds of 31 or 34 knots and maximum speeds of 35 or 38 knots — depending on the engine of choice — showcasing excellence in design and performance.

At the stern, the garage houses a Williams 325 tender, protected by a tach in double-shell carbon fiber. A major innovation of the 56’ Rivale is the underwater movement of the swimming platform, with additional steps in the hull providing a convenient stairway for water access.

luxury lounges and cabins below deck

Below deck, guests are treated to an elegant lounge-dinette where mirrored surfaces alternate with varnished mahogany, dark lacquered woods, and dark leather coverings. The interplay of colors and materials is quintessentially Riva, with sofas and ottoman seats upholstered in fabric by Ivano Redaelli, and wall-to-wall carpet by Van Besouw. The gallery, partially hidden by mirrored walls and sliding lacquered surfaces, features abundant storage and a unit with a bar set.

The sleeping quarters include two en-suite cabins, mirroring the luxurious color and material interplay of the lounge. Striking contrasts between white leather headboards and dark leather furnishings create an inviting atmosphere for guests. Soft furnishings by Ivano Redaelli and Van Besouw add to this opulent ambience. A single-bed crew cabin, with separate access from the cockpit, can be replaced by a third guest cabin if desired. The result is a home away from home on the open sea.

Boater shares concerns with new design of gasoline containers: 'This looks dangerous'

"Is there a way to keep this from expanding?"

  • Link Copied!

"Is there a way to keep this from expanding?"

A boat owner noticed something frightening happening with their onboard gas tank: It had started to swell in the hot sun.

They posted on Reddit with a photo of the ballooning tank, writing: "Is there a way to keep this from expanding? Is there a way to vent?"

"Is there a way to keep this from expanding?"

Looking at the photo, one commenter observed : "This looks dangerous."

They're correct. Having a pressurized fuel tank is one of the last things any boat owner would want onboard — and unfortunately, there's no simple solution to the issue.

Previous versions of fuel tanks like this one were double-vented, allowing for the escape of gas vapors. Unfortunately, scientists found that these vapors contain a number of dangerous, carcinogenic substances that endanger the health of the people exposed to them, according to the National Library of Medicine. For this reason, the Environmental Protection Agency ruled that new mandatory gas cap designs must not be double-vented, therefore limiting the release of these vapors.

Unfortunately, while well intentioned, the new version is just as dangerous.

Watch now: These futuristic gas stations could completely change what it's like to own an EV

The current style of caps allows air into the tank to ventilate it as it empties, but they don't allow the release of air. Some styles don't have any ventilation at all. And without release vents, tanks fill with pressurized vapors. Add hot sun into the mix, and the vapors expand even more.

Other commenters had encountered similarly dangerous situations. One warned : "I have seen some of these fuel tanks explode because all fuel tank manufacturers can no longer legally make vents for them like they use to."

"A pressurized fuel container causes all sorts of safety risks compared to a vented tank," agreed another.

Between carcinogenic vapors and pressurized canisters, there's no ideal solution for boat owners … of course, other than using a nonmotorized boat.

It's a similar situation facing many car owners: The reduction of harmful dirty energy pollutants is just one of the many reasons that more people are choosing to switch to electric vehicles (or even no vehicles ).

In terms of performance, she is powered by twin 900 horsepower MAN engines to a top speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 11, and at 8 knots she has a range of more than 4,000 nautical miles.

Project Yacht Design 75mt

Project 75mtv2, project 75mtv2 – the project was developed based on the input received from turkish shipyard for a well experienced yacht owner..

Italian Yacht Design

The project was developed based on the input received from the  yacht yard. A customer, an expert shipowner, has commissioned the construction of a new yacht, designed with Italian style.

The yacht with a maximum length of 75mt, built in steel with an aluminum superstructure, was designed by our team of designers to meet the needs of the client and at the same time as the yard ; a large yacht that must  look slim and slender at same time.

We have  developed sinuous lines that tend to descend from the bow to the stern. The chromaticdifference between hull and superstructure allows to obtain an even more slender design; Vertical but rounded bow, the overhanging and recessed elements of the surfaces create ribs that stiffen and structure the shapes, defining their docile but at the same time aggressive character.
