Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan is at it again. His 400-foot superyacht Kismet (formerly Project Jag) is due to splash this summer, and true to form, it’s another crazy attention-grabbing creation.
Khan’s third custom-built Lürssen has a 5,500 gross tonnage, almost double the weight of his former 312-foot yacht (also named Kismet and now renamed Whisper ), which he sold last September for a cool $160 million. It’s not just the name that’s the same. Both boats have fire pits, video walls, a basketball court and wild chandeliers, but this time Khan’s added an underwater Nemo lounge, a duplex owner’s suite, and a retro neon dance floor. Oh, and this six-deck behemoth’s hull is a whopping 88 feet longer.
The Pakistani American billionaire has a reputation for making a statement. Aboard his previous yacht he mandated a “Champagne and caviar” interior from Reymond Langton that screamed excess, with a custom grand piano that sat beneath a sweeping black-and-gold Art Deco staircase. The new 400-foot Kismet also enjoys interiors by the British design studio in partnership with Khan’s family, while the exterior is by Nuvolari Lenard.
Kismet ’s week charter price of roughly $3.25 million makes it one of the most expensive charter yachts in the world alongside Flying Fox . It’s an average of about $272,000 each for 12 guests, who are accommodated in nine ensuite cabins. The crew of 37 is on hand to make it a memorable week.
A full suite of water toys, from sea bobs and eFoils to Flitescooters and an inflatable slide, add to the waterside fun. There’s also a floating deck to park Jet Skis, a sailing dinghy, and storage for a private submersible. When venturing from the mothership, a four tenders, including a 37-foot Hodgdon and a 39-foot Naiad, will transport owners and their guests.
Here are 12 cool facts about one of the world’s most expensive charter yachts, available from this summer through Cecil Wright.
The Jacksonville Jaguars Link
Khan’s former 312-foot Kismet was hard to miss, thanks to a 13-foot silver jaguar statue (in inset above) that he mounted on the bowsprit every time his NFL team played. This time, he’s decided to make the big cat a permanent fixture by incorporating a silver sculpture on the underside of the bowsprit. He’ll be flying the flag for his NFL football team everywhere he cruises. You can just make out the sleek, silver Jaguar under the end of the bow.
Gilded Duplex Owner’s Apartment
The full-beam owner’s apartment, spanning two decks, is dripping in gold. It includes a large primary suite with a circular skylight, a fireplace, and gilded wall coverings with bed linens and carpets to match. There are two separate marbled bathrooms and dressing rooms and a private hot tub forward, as well as one of two hair salons/beauty rooms on board. The remaining guest cabins can be configured as doubles or twins.
Music Maestro
A DJ station overhanging the bridge deck aft is where guests can spin some tunes on the decks, but it’s Khan’s love of custom pianos that steals the show. A Bogányi grand piano in the upper deck was designed by award-winning Hungarian pianist Gergely Bogányi. Its swooping curves and cantilevered body wraps around a crimson red cast-iron plate that holds 21 tons of string tension.
Therapy at Sea
Kismet is one of only a handful of yachts to have a cryotherapy chamber on board and possibly the first chromotherapy bathtub. They’re in the dedicated Balinese-inspired spa on the lower deck, along with a hammam, sauna, and private massage room. There’s also a gym and yoga studio and a juice bar, both with opening sea terraces.
The ‘80s Effect
In a nod to ‘80s retro arcade games, Kismet ’s “Tron corridor” includes neon accents and a wireframe matrix dance floor in pink and blue that lights up for the full disco effect. During the day, it serves as a relaxing transition point between the wellness area and guest areas, with lounging sofas and a cocktail bar.
Making a Splash
When the gin-clear surrounding waters aren’t enough, three swimming pools—two with waterfall features—and four outdoor showers should do it. There’s also a swim-up bar on the pool deck.
A Nemo Theater
Two cinemas—one outdoor on the bridge deck and one indoor on the lower deck—deliver the latest in movies. Of course, the real cinematic experience comes in the form of an underwater Nemo viewing window. It sits just below the 150-inch drop-down TV in the cinema lounge, so guests can spot passing sharks while viewing Jaws on screen. Pre-movie drinks are served in four interior bars, including the Champagne bar and wine cellar room.
Hoops on the Helipad
Forward of the master cabin on the foredeck is a helipad that can accommodate an H155 helicopter for guest transfers. It also doubles as a basketball and pickleball court. It’s not clear if Khan will ever use the helipad or keep it exclusively for ball sports as he did on the previous Kismet.
Global Cuisine
Kismet ’s culinary options span from Michelin star-level dining to an outdoor pizza oven, a teppanyaki cooking station, and barbecue on the pool deck. Seating arrangements shouldn’t be a problem either, with configurations for up to 24 guests on the upper deck, 18 on the main deck and 14 on both the top and pool decks.
Khan has long been a fan of a bioethanol fireplace, choosing to have three on his former yacht. He’s increased the number to four this time, accompanied by ornate marble surroundings. There are also two external fire pits for chilly evenings and under-floor heating in guest areas.
Boardroom With a View
When attending to business on board, a primary office on the pool deck brings stunning ocean and outside-deck views while being accessed via a private staircase from the owner’s suite. It has a conference table and its own dedicated pantry for hosting meetings.
Stairway to Heaven
Kismet ’s elaborate central staircase appears to have the same video walls as the previous yacht, bringing pops of green and yellow lighting. It’s complemented by a handful of living walls with vegetation. Other plants are spread across the six decks, bringing the outdoors in.

Drone Video: Jaguars owner Shad Khan parks new 400-foot megayacht in downtown Jacksonville
The yacht is estimated to be worth $360 million.
Travis Gibson , Digital Executive Producer
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – While it continues to be an abysmal season for the Jacksonville Jaguars football team, the team’s owner is still living the good life.
Jacksonville residents are getting a close-up look at just how good it is to be a billionaire after Shad Khan, who is worth an estimated $13.6 billion , parked his brand-new “Kismet” megayacht downtown next to the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront this week.
PHOTOS: On board the 122-metre Lürssen superyacht Kismet
The megayacht, which is longer than a football field at 133 yards (400 feet), charters for $3 million per week and features six decks, three pools, a gym, a helicopter pad and can host 12 guests and 37 crew members, according to Boat International .
The yacht is estimated to be worth $360 million with an annual running cost of around $30 million, according to SuperYachtFan.com .
Khan reportedly sold the previous version of Kismet, which was just 312 feet, to former Google CEO Eric Schmidt in 2023. It was put on the market for $199 million.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan brings extravagant business game to London on superyacht Kismet
The first time Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan found himself on a yacht in the early 1990s, it belonged to the late Jim Moran , an executive with Southeast Toyota when the 160-foot vessel named “Gallant Lady” happened to be docked in Jacksonville.
Khan, then well into his own career as owner of car-bumper manufacturer Flex ‘N Gate , watched intently as the legendary Chicago auto dealer went about the business of using his yacht to host lavish parties.
All of it served to satisfy Moran’s passion for boating, entertaining clients and building his multiple auto business interests.
It was high-class customer engagement by Moran — still the only auto dealer to appear on the cover of Time magazine (1961) — and the impression that made on Khan was indelible.
Not only was Khan's company making bumpers for Toyota cars, he admired Moran’s business style so much that he ended up buying his yacht.
How rich is Shad Khan? Jaguars owner gets $1.1 billion bump in net worth, Forbes says
Showcasing a new Kismet
As the Jaguars go across the Atlantic to play two games in London — the first as an away opponent against the Chicago Bears on Oct. 13 at Tottenham Stadium, then hosting the New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium on Oct. 20 — the Moran influence on Khan will be on elegant display like never before.
ON THE FIELD: Jaguars owner Shad Khan has dropped a clue about his mood following loss to Bills
For the first time, the Jaguars’ major sponsors, business partners and many London dignitaries will get their first look at Khan’s fourth yacht, the superyacht Kismet, at his annual party Thursday night, Oct. 17, before the Patriots game.
While a yacht is generally considered to be at least 56 feet long, a superyacht is usually hundreds of feet long and is built with a higher level of luxury than most yachts.
The new 410-foot Kismet, which is 80 feet longer than the previous Kismet and meets the engineering and environment-specific demands Khan wanted, is essentially a page out of the Moran business playbook in grander style.
Since becoming the Jaguars’ owner in 2012, Khan has sought ways to grow his enterprise in small-market Jacksonville by being the only NFL team to take one of its home games overseas every year to London.
Entertaining hundreds of invited guests on a bigger and more luxurious Kismet is an example of Khan finding another way to elevate his business game.
“Kismet is sort of the ultimate sales tool,” said Patrick Zalupski, president/CEO of Dream Finders Homes, a major Jaguars sponsor. “It is something you can only get access to by being part of the Jaguars’ family. Just that little piece of the London experience is part of who the Jaguars are. It also separates us from other [NFL] organizations.”
While giving the Jaguars’ partners/sponsors and special guests a memorable experience with high-end entertainment on a yacht, it also serves other vital purposes.
Khan can expand the team’s brand on a world stage, help cultivate relationships between the Jacksonville business community and London companies to bring jobs to Duval County, while also fulfilling the NFL agenda of growing its international footprint.
Considering all those factors, it’s no wonder Khan has a strong desire to take one home game (plus playing an away game if the NFL schedule allows it) to London every year.
Mixing business with pleasure
With an opportunity to showcase the Jaguars in one of the world’s biggest financial centers, Khan and the team’s employee base in the UK arrange for business partners, potential sponsors and dignitaries from all over London to have plenty of social event options when the team plays at Wembley.
Every year, Khan hosts dinner parties at places like Abbey Road studios, Kensington Palace, the Tower of London and Annabelle’s club. Also, many attend a traditional Fulham home soccer match the day before the Jaguars’ game at Wembley.
SHAD KHAN: What you should know about the owner of the Jaguars
But with a new Kismet to unveil, which took several years to build and has only been in the water a few months, many guests will likely be stoked to see the upgrades and different features in Khan’s upgraded luxury liner.
“The highlight of the trip has been when Kismet is in London,” said Jaguars team president Mark Lamping. “The people who want to be on Kismet is probably double of what we can accommodate.
“We’re probably limited to around 300 guests. A big chunk of those are people coming from Jacksonville, a lot of Fulham guests and prominent members of the London community.”
It’s a prime example of Khan using his salesmanship acumen that serves a dual purpose — entertaining clients at a unique venue and growing the Jaguars’ brand to boost the bottom line of his small-market franchise.
Kismet's variety of music entertainers
One of the biggest challenges for Khan, Lamping and the business side of the Jaguars’ operation is making sure the London experience maintains a sense of freshness.
That’s why dinner parties are held at different high-profile establishments, giving valued customers a change of scenery, much like football fans enjoy going to see different NFL stadiums on the road.
The same logic applies when Kismet is part of the festivities. The Jaguars and Khan have brought different musical entertainers on board to spice up the party.
A decade ago, they hired an upcoming English singer/songwriter, Charli XCX, to play a few songs for guests on the Kismet.
The Jaguars use their connections with agents of clients performing at Daily’s Place, allowing them to pursue a variety of musical entertainers they think might be a fit for Kismet guests in London.
They brought aboard American singer/songwriter Robin Thicke in 2016, then English jazz/pop singer Jamie Cullum and English singer Paloma Faith the next two years.
But Landing Charli XCX back in 2014 when she was 22, just as her stardom took off, turned out to be a breakthrough idea for Khan as he sought ways to add to the Kismet experience for his guests.
The same was true when George Ezra, an English musician who rose to prominence a decade ago with the release of his hit single, “Budapest,” performed on Kismet in 2021.
Noah Gallagher from Oasis on board
In 2022, Khan’s guests on his yacht were treated to a rare appearance from Noah Gallagher — co-lead vocalist of the band, Oasis, and one of the most influential songwriters in British rock music history — playing aboard Kismet.
Since Gallagher and his younger brother, Liam, had years of a tumultuous relationship that resulted in Oasis’ breakup in 2009, British music fans longed for a reunion. They will get their wish next summer when the siblings perform a series of concerts in the UK and the United States.
But while the brothers were still estranged two years ago, Khan and the Jaguars managed to entice Noah to perform on his yacht.
“We could have had a number of stars [perform] that you’d connect with, but it might not relate to the English,” said Khan. “We had English sponsors on board and some of them are now Jaguars’ sponsors. They were like, ‘Oh, my God, [Gallagher] is who I wanted to see.’
“Now this reunion of Oasis is the biggest thing, like Taylor Swift 2.0.”
Among those on board for Gallagher’s musical show was Henry Brown, CEO of Miller Electric, whose company’s name is on the Jaguars’ new practice facility.
“I don’t know that I really watched [Gallagher] for more than one song,” said Brown. “We spent most of our time on the top deck because it was such a beautiful night and you’re in the middle of the Thames River. He was playing two decks below.
“While it was cool that Gallagher was there, it was just one of many cool things on the yacht. For me, him playing was almost an afterthought, which is kind of hard to believe. It’s just that being on that boat in that location with that group of people, that’s a top-five experience.”
Keeping the customers happy
While Khan has never acted like he wants to be the center of attention, he recognizes, as Moran did decades ago, that being a salesman requires engagement with customers and business associates.
Since becoming an NFL owner, it’s impossible for Khan to stay under the public radar like he did as the CEO of a car-bumper manufacturing company.
“When football [ownership] happened, I had a successful business with over 10,000 employees and a number of factories,” Khan said. “I never had a PR person, was never in any kind of media. I took pride in the fact I never spent a penny on marketing. We never advertised.
“Everything was we were going to knock on doors and get to know people. When I wanted to get into the NFL, I started cold-calling many years ago before it happened, met some of the owners and developed a relationship with them.
“It comes down to, ‘Hey, do I like this person? Do I trust this person.’ Whether you’re selling an auto part or [pursing] an NFL franchise, I kind of grew up doing that. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression in all this.”
Khan takes that same approach with selling the Jaguars’ brand at home and overseas. He saw how Moran made business deals by connecting with people first, then seeing if the social aspect to a relationship developed into something that might lead to a financial partnership.
Jim Woodcock, a longtime employee of public relations firm Fleishman-Hillard in St. Louis and Khan’s PR point man for his entire reign as owner of the Jaguars, has had a front-row seat for much of his boss’ interactions with people on and away from Kismet.
“Shad being there [on Kismet] and personally engaged with sponsors, it’s a stage unlike any other and he’s the star,” said Woodcock. “He takes time with everybody. It’s probably what made him the success he was and will always be in the automotive business.
“Beyond his engineering expertise, Shad is not afraid of customer engagement. He insists upon it.”
Khan, with a net worth of $13.3 billion and recently ranked No. 64 among the wealthiest people in the U.S. by Forbes , and Kismet are inextricably linked.
To the Jaguars’ owner, his massive yacht is much more than a luxurious play toy. It is a vehicle to bring joy and memorable entertainment for football fans and business partners.
Khan, who emigrated to the U.S. at age 16 from Pakistan and started out making $1.25 an hour as a dishwasher, was an engineering major at the University of Illinois. He has always been fascinated by all sorts of architecture, spending many hours in public libraries soaking up all the knowledge he could about the subject.
What Kismet does is align his skills as a salesman, engineer and entrepreneur, sort of a personal love boat. It also helps bring the Jaguars exposure across the pond that Khan takes very personally.
“If it isn’t an experience of a lifetime for them, then you’ve failed,” said Khan. “I think both the venue and the hospitality part has to be something that’s going to stick with them forever.”

Photos: A look at Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s yacht Kismet through the years
It’s a big week for Shad Khan’s Jacksonville Jaguars.
The team has the top pick in the NFL Draft once again, giving them a chance to get some help for Trevor Lawrence, who was picked No. 1 overall by the Jags last year.

In honor of the Jags’ upcoming moment in the spotlight, let’s take a trip down memory lane with another one of Khan’s assets: The Kismet, his nearly $200M yacht.
‘I WANT TO LIVE ON IT’
Action Sports Jax’s Brent Martineau first gave you a look at the mega yacht when it was brand-new and anchored in the Thames River ahead of the Jags’ London game against the Dallas Cowboys in 2014.
Khan sold his previous yacht in 2013, replacing it with the 300-foot Kismet, which took two years to build. Back then, the Kismet had a statue of a Jaguar on the front.
One of the Kismet’s onlookers in London declared “I want to live on it!”
‘MY FEET WOULD NEVER TOUCH LAND’
The yacht made it to the River City in 2015, docking in the St. Johns River next to the CSX building.
Deborah Kaczorowski of Jacksonville told Action News Jax then she was impressed with the Kismet.
“My feet would never touch land — maybe once a week —- if I had something like that,” Kaczorowski said. “I’d enjoy that bad boy.”
KISMET FOR SALE
In October 2020, the Kismet was listed for sale .
At that time, the asking price was $199,039,663. Now, the Kismet’s listing says “POA” under the asking price.
“POA” means “price on application” or “price on asking,” which means the seller must be contacted to get the price.
‘I CAN MOVE THE NEEDLE’
In December 2021, the Kismet was the site of an informal question-and-answer session with the media as Khan reflected on his 10-year anniversary as the owner of the Jaguars.
He reiterated his hope to help elevate the city to new heights and bring a Super Bowl to Jags fans.
“There’s a vacuum here, there’s a football team here and as an owner I can move the needle,” Khan said. “How many times do you get a chance to move a needle in a good way in a great American city, very rarely. That’s the power here.”
