New Moon Yoga & Evening Retreat

Event description.

Your monthly evening retreat is an evening carved out for you to come back into relationship with yourself. To drop out of the thinking mind, connect with your body and the parts of you that are needing attention. To let go of tension and what may not be serving you, so you can step forward with intention into the month to come.

This sunset Sunday session will include yoga and journaling inspired by the new moon in Taurus which also happens to land on a solar eclipse! In astrology, both the new moon and solar eclipse is believed to be a great time for reconnecting with yourself and setting intentions. Even if astrology isn't your cup of tea, we can let this inspire us to take a pause in our month, reconnect with ourselves and find clarity for the month to come.

The session will start with an hour slow yoga flow to ground down, release tension and connect with our inner wisdom. This will be followed by self-reflection time to journal and integrate. Depending on how you feel, you can head home or stay for some tea and chats with some of the new moon yoga community!

The yoga flow will be suitable for all levels, so if you are new then please don't let that stop you! I will also will bring spare yoga mats for those who don't have one. This afternoon will be hosted in Kohimarama Yacht Club, overlooking our beautiful harbor during sunset.

The intention of this evening is to create space for:

- A connection to our bodies

- Listening and integrating our inner wisdom

- Sense of community and support

$15 a ticket if you bring a friend

Incorporating simple yet effective techniques from a variety of modalities, these sessions will be suitable for all levels of experience from beginner to experienced practitioner.

What is cacao?

“The cocoa bean is the seed of the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao), a tropical plant indigenous to the equatorial regions of the Americas. The fluid paste, or liquor, comes from the processed cocoa bean, from which cocoa powder and chocolate are made.”

At this ceremony, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of this vegan drink made from cacao. You will have space to set your intention (Sankalpa) and the support from the community to ground this intention.

The ceremony will be opened with a gentle Hatha Yoga practice. This practice, followed by the drink made from cacao, will help improve your blood circulation, supporting your mind to create a solid and effective intention.

Your role as a participator is super important as you will also have the power to support the other person’s Sankalpa. So don’t hesitate to come along and share your energy. You will make the difference.

The ceremony will close with tea and cookies and a surprise giveaway.

Kohimarama Yacht Club

Kohimarama Yacht Club is a youth yacht club dedicated to introducing young people to sailing, and training them to love and excel at the sport.

We have a fantastic clubhouse on the water at Tamaki Drive, Kohimarama and a boat shed at nearby Madills Farm. The boat shed houses our fleet of 18 inflatable patrol boats. In addition we have our outer course start boat Marama moored at the Outboard Boating Club. The club has approximately 100 member families with about 120 boats sailing on a full club day. Like many clubs, we are a voluntary organisation run by generous people who willingly donate their time and effort.

Everyday I have the opportunity to step into NIAC, I find myself thankful for Amy Paul and her vision. The quintessential gym to free the mind of trouble, fill the soul, and build a muscle or two, NIAC is my medicine away from the mountains. The friendly staff, the multitude of classes and the access to professional advice offers something for everyone. As a healthcare provider, this year more than any, I have been overly impressed with the amount of care the team spends on cleanliness; the place sparkles. At half a century old, my health, like so many gym goers, is dear to me in order to do the the things I love: skiing, backpacking, climbing, rafting, and whatever other crazy adventure my grown children take me on. At 102 years of age, a man named George Jedenoff still skis, and my friends and I just missed meeting him last year at Snowbird, Utah. He’ll turn 103 this next July. George started his daily training regiment at 70 years of age (you can check George out on YouTube); it’s never too late to start. A special thanks to Amy for keeping the dream alive for all of us. Me? Well, according to Mr. Jedenoff’s philosophy: I’ve got another 50+ years to ski (my favorite pastime) – nothing left to do but get on with the workout . . . 🙂

Jivamukti Yoga Material Moscow

Material Yoga studio was founded in Moscow in 2017 by Anna Lunegova (Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher)

• The schedule features more than 80 weekly classes (Jivamukti, Hatha, Ashtanga, Pranayama, Iyengar, Meditation) and hosts many other interesting classes & events (Sanskrit, Indian Mythology, musical performances, lectures etc)

• In 2017-2019 we have been privileged to host Jivamukti global teachers – Ruth Lauer-Manenti, Yogeswari, Jules Febre, Rima Rani Rabbath, Olga Oskorbina (Barcelona), Anna Dukhanina (Amsterdam) – with their open classes and special workshops. It usually attracts many people from Moscow & other Russian cities (35-45 people per class on average).

• Total space is 300 sq.m. – it has three practice halls (with capacity up to 50 people in the largest one), vegetarian café and shop.

• The studio is located in the very center of Moscow in a walking distance from Kremlin and reveals an outstanding view on the city.
