In the late ’70s and early ’80s, a scene and a sound cropped up on the West Coast: polished, perfectionist studio musicians who generated sleek, jazzy, R&B-flavored music. About a quarter-century later, this sound was given a name: Yacht Rock. The inventors of the genre name weren’t thinking about boats … well, unless the song was Christopher Cross’s “Sailing.” Yacht Rock was meant to signify deluxe, yuppified, “smooth” music suitable for playing on luxury nautical craft.

Whatever you call it, this music really did command the charts at the turn of the ’80s: from Steely Dan to George Benson, Michael McDonald to Kenny Loggins, Toto to … Michael Jackson?! Believe it: Even Thriller is partially a Yacht Rock album. This month, Hit Parade breaks down what Yacht Rock was and how it took over the charts four decades ago—from the perfectionism of “Peg,” to the bounce of “What a Fool Believes,” to the epic smoothness of “Africa.”

D isney+ original reality travel series Are You Sure?! aired its third episode on August 15, 2024. The show stars BTS sensations Park Jimin and Jeon Jungkook. In episode 3, their bandmate Kim Taehyung, aka V, joined them to travel to Jeju Island, South Korea. The fun-filled episode took fans on a ride to the picturesque island as the three BTS members had chaotic yet hilarious moments.

The trio headed to a gaming zone in Jeju, where they climbed walls with rock pits, jumped on a hanging sandbag, and more. Fans were stunned when they saw Jimin climb the wall without keeping his feet on the rock supports attached to the wall in the latest episode of Are You Sure?!

They lauded the musician for his core strength and upper-body muscle power, which helped him pull up against a wall without foot support.

One fan wrote on X:

"What in the spider man am I witnessing???"

Fans shared the clip from Are You Sure?! episode 3 and flooded X with praises for the MUSE musician.

"Jimin is funny, smart, cute, strong at the same time, that's why he is considered the god of variety shows and does the best in every situation," one fan wrote .

"Jimin is crazy how are you climbing a wall without even putting your foot anywhere like woah he's literally just carrying himself up using his hands," another fan said .

"As someone who does rock climbing I can give my professional opinion that Jimin absolutely slayed it and should be awarded," another fan wrote .

Admirers also credited his decade-long training as a contemporary dancer, which helped him build a strong core and enhance his muscle endurance.

"The grip and arm stregth climbing those wall without using the foothold is insane," one fan added .

"No but the strength for this to work so well must be insane because he was literally carrying himself up using just his arms while his legs were slip and sliding down the wall," another fan praised .

"His upper body strength is insane. All those micro muscles are trained by years of exercising since early age. He is so strong & yet so flexible that his body looks so delicate especially when he dances. I like this about him," one other fan said .

BTS' Jimin struggles hard with nausea in Are You Sure?! as Taehyung & Jungkook hilariously annoy him

Are You Sure?! episodes 1 and 2 were filled with funny moments of Jimin catching a stomach bug, making him run to the toilet repeatedly. The MUSE singer-songwriter even got hit on his nose by Jungkook's elbow when the duo were sleeping at night. As a result, Jimin stayed awake the entire night, icing his nose with a cold soju bottle and going to the toilet simultaneously.

Furthermore, the idol couldn't eat much as he was afraid that he would have to rush to the toilet again. Hence, he spent taking a nap on the yacht during their California trip. Similarly, in episode 3, Jimin got motion sickness due to the drive from the Jeju airport to their villa. He took a long nap after that since he felt he would puke at any moment.

Later in Are You Sure?! episode 3, he went to the game zone with Jungkook and Taehyung , and during one of those activities, Jimin hurt his lip and started bleeding.

Both Jungkook and Taehyung were worried about seeing the singer bleed from his mouth. However, Jimin handled the situation humorously. Later, Jungkook started teasing him for being so prone to injury.

Are You Sure?! is available on Disney+ and will release episode 4 on August 22, and episode 5 on August 29, 2024, at 4 pm (KST)/12.30 pm (IST).
