80 Azimut Motoryacht Walkthrough [Boat Review + Video]

Hi, I’m Jordan with Denison Yachting, and today we’re here in sunny South Florida on this beautiful 2016 80 foot Azimut fly bridge. I’m super excited to take you on a walkthrough today, and one of the main features I want to hit on is the engine package on board HAPPY HOURS . The standard engine package for the 80 foot Azimut is a 1,550 horsepower man.

HAPPY HOURS actually features the 1800 horsepower MANs that give her an effortless cruise in the mid-twenties. The second feature I want to touch on is the massive fly bridge on the 80 foot Azimut. As you may be aware, Azimut is a leader in the layout and spaciousness of their fly bridges. The 80 is no exception, and we’re going to get to it later, but it features a sectional sofa on the aft deck, a seating area in the midsection and another U-shaped dinette forward just next to the helm seat. She also features a full bar with a refrigerator and ice maker and a separate grilling station aft.

The third feature I want to touch on today is the overall open concept layout on the 80-foot fly bridge. One of the main contributing factors to this open concept is the galley. You can see behind me here that there’s an opening between the galley and the salon and the sliding doors at the aft and the galley also open to give an open concept all the way from the cockpit to the lower helm station. Overall, the 80 Azimut has an excellent platform for entertaining your family and friends and can easily accommodate eight people in her four state room five head layout.

The Azimut yacht builder really nailed it with the overall design of the 80 Azimut fly bridge. She has an unmistakably, sleek design that has made her super popular here in the United States. A massive fly bridge that both seating for up to 15 adults and they integrated the day head on the main deck. Let’s start on the aft deck and take a closer look at what makes this 80 Azimut fly bridge so unique.

Stepping onto the aft deck of the 80, one of the first things you’re going to notice is this huge U-shaped settee that can easily accommodate eight adults. The second cool feature about the aft deck is how the hardtop extends all the way aft and completely covers the space. And just forward across from the settee is this really cool custom Samsung TV mounted in the lid that closes over the Kenyan cooktop and is just above the ice maker and refrigerator.

What other cool feature of the aft deck on the 80 Azimut is the beautiful teak soul that leads down to the hydraulic swim platform that houses the 395 Williams Jet Tender. Over here next year, hydraulic swim platform control, I also wanted to mention the passerelle that comes out right here on the first step.

As you make your way into the crew area, one of the first things you’ll notice is this separate Miele washer and dryer. And then up forward of that is the little crew mess area that has its own microwave and access to the ship’s Navio computer that gives you access to all the systems. On the starboard side is the main captain’s cabin, and to port is the bunk room for the two additional crew members.

There’s also a separate wet head for the crew. Something I mentioned earlier that I want to touch on again is the upgraded engine package on this particular 80 Azimut. She’s got the 1,800 horsepower MAN diesels and the upgraded air conditioning package that is very important here in South. It’s a Candelaria unit that’s 144,000 BTUs.

It takes a ton of energy to run all the systems on board HAPPY HOURS. That’s why having these twin 32 KW Kohler generators is crucial. Here on the port side of the engine room, you’ll notice the side power hydraulic unit that powers both the bow thruster and the zero speed stabilization fins. Now that we’ve wrapped up the engine room and crew area, let’s go all the way forward and look at the spacious bow.

Up here on the bow, there’s a few noteworthy items that I think are worth mentioning. The first of which is this huge U-shape dinette that has the optional clamshell cover to shade the whole area. Second is this large sun pad area that can easily accommodate for adults. And lastly, Azimut thought of everything when it came to safety.

There are really high bow rails that go all the way around the bow of the vessel. They also concealed all the ground tackle equipment below the surface of the deck. Now that you’ve seen the aft deck and the bow, I want to take you to what is undoubtedly my favorite part of this vessel, the fly bridge

Up here on the fly bridge of the 80 Azimut, there’s so many features I want to touch on, and I mentioned a few of them earlier. One of which was the seating located on the aft end here. Also, something else worth mentioning next to the sofa is the grilling station that is away from all your guests and the smoke just rolls right off the back.

Another option on the fly bridge that not all the eighties have is this really cool bar area with the bar stools mounted to the deck. You have a freshwater sink, an ice maker, and a refrigerator down below, as well as a storage area. Also, above the bar is this sun bright TV that’s tied into the Direct TV system on board.

The starboard is yet another dining area. They can easily accommodate eight to 10 guests. As we make our way forward, I want to mention the electronic sunroof. You can have it open when the weather’s nice, or if you have inclement weather, it’s easy to shut with the push of a button. Also on the aft end of the hard top is an electronic shade that comes out to cover the whole sectional area.

One thing I mentioned on the bow was the high railing that goes all the way around the four deck. A couple things I wanted to mention up here were those same high railings for safety as well as your life ring and life raft situated on the port and starboard sides with easy deployment right off the rail. If you plan to own or operate the vessel. I think it’s worth mentioning this really nice U-shaped dinette area that allows you to keep the captain company well underway. Here at the upper helm, I wanted to touch on a few key features, but we’ll go into a little more detail down below. Here on the starboard side are your electronic man engine controls, your Zeta joystick, and your hydraulic mouth raster.

Over here’s your full suite of Ray marine electronics that includes two 15 inch screens, a Triada display, and an autopilot display. And next to those displays is your Navio screen that controls all the ship systems. Now that we wrapped up on the fly bridge, let’s move inside to the salon.

Stepping into the salon on the 80 Azimut, the first thing you’re going to notice is how the natural light just floods into this space. One of the main reasons why we have so much natural light in the salon and galley area on the 80 is because of the floor ceiling windows on the port and starboard side. Not only that, Azimut redesigned the gunnels on both sides and cut them out to make it feel like you were one with the sea. You’ll notice there’s a couple storage features. One is here on the starboard side and the second is on the port side with a storage cabinet above and all your AV equipment and wine cooler below. Whether you’re sitting on one of the three sofas, enjoying a meal at the dining table, or cooking in the galley, everybody has great visibility of the Samsung flat screen that pops up behind the port sofa.

As we make our way forward, I want you to take a second and see the incredible view from the eight person dining table. There’s also a great view out the port side and an additional storage locker here. You also have storage behind these three panels as well. As we make our way forward. You’ll notice the day head to the port side and your main galley entrance right here to starboard.

As I mentioned previously, this 80 has the open galley concept, which really makes it easy to serve in and out of the galley without having to go through and go around. If you do have a full crew, you can easily drop this screen and make the galley completely private. On the forward side of the galley, you have a nice large basin sink. A four burner Miele cooktop, a Miele convection oven, and a full size dishwasher. On the outside of the galley, you have your custom Azimut dishware storage here, and then your two fridge and two freezer drawers down below with plenty of storage below and overhead.

As we make our way forward to the lower helm the open concept really continues through this space. And these huge windows allow for tons of natural light to infiltrate it. And like I mentioned upstairs, there’s this nice little seating nook down below as well that allows you to keep the captain company. Stepping into the lower helm, the first thing you’ll notice is that you have every instrument at your fingertips to navigate this yacht successfully.

This starts with the full suite of Ray marine electronics, including two 15-inch chart platters, as well as separate LCD engine displays below. You also have the Navio screen here that allows you to control all the ship systems and your bow thrust control, autopilot control, Triada display, and your engine controls on the starboard side. Just forward of your engine controls are your CMCs stabilization fin monitors. And lastly is your Zeta joystick. Now that you’ve seen the lower helm station, let’s wrap up the walkthrough and go show you the accommodations down below.

As you make your way down the main companion way, the first state room is to port and features a queen birth and an en suite hand. Every state room on board happy hours features its own flat screen TV, as well as an independent air conditioning control. Moving forward into the VIP state room, you’ll notice there’s no shortage of storage or natural light in this space. To port is the entrance to your en suite head with a large stall shower.

And on the starboard side is a large hanging locker as well as a nice vanity area. Headed aft into starboard is the third guest state room that features twin bunks and a Pullman berth above. Stepping into the master, one of the first things you’ll notice is the ample amount of storage, the first of which is here behind the door. And second, you have this built-in dresser with six drawers as well as another walk-in closet. On the port side and then additional storage area on the starboard head. Aside from the ample storage space in the master. Something else I want to mention is the way these 10 waterline windows let the natural light flow through the state room.

There’s also four opening port holes that allow the fresh air to blow through of desired. Whether you’re sitting at the vanity here doing your makeup or enjoying a drink, the view through the waterline windows is incredible. Rounding out today’s walkthrough, I want to take you into one of the most impressive spaces here in the master state room, and that’s the master berth.

It features his and hers vanities and this massive walkthrough shower with a rainfall shower head. Speaking of showers, we started recording this video about 10 hours ago and I really need one.
