70.3m M/Y Saint Nicolas Sold to New Owner

The 70.3m Lurssen build M/Y Saint Nicolas has been sold, with Merle Wood and Associates representing the seller and IYC representing the buyer. Merle Wood have commended the yacht’s crew, who were helpful and compliant throughout the 52 day sale and survey process.

Built in 2007 and refit in 2016, Saint Nicolas is a luxury motor yacht that perfectly demonstrates the pedigree of the world-renowned German shipyard. This spacious vessel has 6 staterooms to accommodate 14 guests, as well as the 19 crew members who expertly secure the seamless running of the yacht.  

Measuring in at 1,938 GT, Saint Nicolas boasts remarkable performance capabilities for a yacht of her stature. Propelled by powerful Caterpillar engines, she has a cruising speed of 13 knots and is able to reach maximum speeds of 16 knots. The boat exists at the forefront of yachting technology, making use of Zero Speed Stabilizers to minimise movement and maximise comfort.

The vessel boasts chic exterior styling by Monaco-based designer Espen Oeino , featuring a steel hull and classic teak decks. Interiors are architected by   François Zuretti and are truly spectacular, comprising an expanse of rich wood, gleaming marble, gilt trimmings and sumptuous cream furnishings. She is a yacht of classic distinction, sticking to time-honoured palettes, shapes and textures.

Guests onboard Saint Nicolas are spoiled when it comes to features, amenities and entertainment, with unfettered access to satellite TV, high speed WiFi and a glorious swimming pool. The boat also abounds with enticing extras including diving equipment, seabobs, tenders and waverunners.

70m Lürssen motor yacht Saint Nicolas sold

The 70.3-metre Lürssen motor yacht Saint Nicolas has been sold in an in-house deal at IYC, with Richard Gray representing the seller and Michael Rafferty introducing the buyer. 

A fully custom steel and aluminium build, she was the second hull in a mini-series of three 70-metre yachts designed by Espen Øino and delivered by Lürssen in 2007, with a comprehensive refit in 2016. Her interior is by François Zuretti who has created understated yet intricate embellishments in elements such as marquetry, engraved glass, and marble inlays.

Featuring six double cabins, two of which are equipped with bunk beds for children, along with a seventh cabin for two staff members, she is designed for live-aboard, long-term cruising. The broker said: "spanning six spacious decks, she epitomises indoor-outdoor living and is the perfect platform for relaxed family cruising and elegant entertaining".

Standout features include her impressive 2.3-metre minimum headroom throughout, an elevator running right through from tank deck to pool deck, and a swimming pool with counter-current jets and a bar.

Zuretti has specified rare and distinctive materials, including parchment, palm, mother-of-pearl, shagreen, bamboo, and buffalo hide. The broker said her "ambiance is opulent while maintaining a cosy atmosphere still, making the yacht perfect for voyages in both warm and cold climates".

Saint Nicolas' asking price was not disclosed.

The 70.2m/230'4" motor yacht 'Saint Nicolas' was built by Lurssen in Germany at their Rendsburg shipyard. Her interior is styled by French designer design house Zuretti and she was completed in 2007. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Espen Oeino and she was last refitted in 2024.

Guest Accommodation

Saint Nicolas has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 16 guests in 7 suites comprising one VIP cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 17 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

Saint Nicolas is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512B DITA) 1,850hp engines running at 1500rpm, she comfortably cruises at 14 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots with a range of up to 4,000 nautical miles from her 202,500 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. Saint Nicolas features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels. Her water tanks store around 28,400 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register ✠100A1, SSC Yacht mono, G6+LMC UMS classification society rules, and is MCA LY2 Compliant.
