Set Sail in Style! Inside the Ultimate Travel Adventure Experience of 'Yacht Week'

Sept. 17 2024, Published 8:20 a.m. ET

Summer vacation options are vast these days, with new variations of trips and tours in different parts of the world popping up every year, making holiday choices endless for traveller's seeking an overseas getaway, however in the world of ultimate luxury and adventure travel, few experiences rival the exhilaration of Yacht Week .

Yacht Week is a sailing adventure journey like no other, set against the stunning backdrop of the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas that has quickly become a bucket list travel experience for tourists worldwide seeking the yachting life adventure of a lifetime.

The Yacht Week journey is about so much more than just the destinations—it's about the voyage itself. They say you never forget your first, which is very true of this experience, as OK! got an exclusive VIP experience onboard our first Yacht Week and the unforgettable ultimate travel adventure on the high seas it promised.

A Birds Eye View of the infamous Circle Raft during Yacht Week.

The Yacht Week adventure begins the moment you step aboard your private yacht with your fellow sailors and embark on your sailing trip for the week. The first decision of the Yacht Week journey begins with choosing whether you're boarding with a group or just looking for a cabin.

Options are available for all types of sailors, whether you have a group of up to 10 friends you'd like to charter your own yacht with, or if you're a solo sailor or with a small group seeking other sailors to fill your yacht cabins. All variations are welcome as the Yacht Week team partners people up in different combinations dependent on needs, and how bare essentials or luxurious you wish to make your experience. One necessity that every yacht is provided with is a skipper, who most importantly will sail the yacht, but also act as a leader onboard the vessel as you set sail on the charter.

" I grew up on fishing boats with my Dad," explains Finn , the skipper of our yacht for the week, "Every week it's a new group of people to get to know, a whole new dynamic of people to watch experience Yacht week for the first time. It's pretty incredible" .

That special experience Finn speaks of is one that many come seeking every year as Yacht Week season begins.'The Summer of Love', was the name of the Yacht Week 2024 season, with week long routes in Greece , Sicily and the original Croatia route ,which was the route sailed on this particular journey.

" We went for the no frills yacht option. No air conditioning, no host," explains Tyson , 25, from Toronto who was onboard his yacht with three friends also from Canada. Tyson and his friends ended up cabin matched with four girls in their mid twenties from Brazil. " We got lucky, it's been a great cabin match for us with our yacht", Tyson says with a coy grin on his face.

The cabin booking system tries to be as gender split as possible, and for those not wanting to risk putting the fate of their yacht mates grouping into someone else's hand, there is Crew Finder; a Facebook group that works as sort of an internal nautical friend finder, where you can find your ideal travel companion group and form your own yacht crew without the aid of the Yacht Week cabin booking system. Despite many yacht mates been assigned together seemingly at random, there weren't many complaints of ill matched cabins that could be observed on this route with most Yacht Week guests expressing their surprise at the quick bonds that had formed from day 1, with strangers quickly becoming a family unit onboard, and the close living quarters onboard forcing you to become very comfortable, very quickly, with your fellow sailors.

That aforementioned host Tyson and his friends chose to forego from their trip, is an optional addition on a Yacht Week charter, where each yacht has the option for an onboard host who can cook meals for you and provide that added luxury of waking up and not having to worry about which one of your cabin mates is going to boil a egg, or even brew some morning coffee for the group. The host can take care of all that, and forget about a simple boiled egg for breakfast, it's quite amazing what the Yacht Week hosts are able to cook up in a simple yacht galley, often whipping up onboard meals that could rival local restaurants with all the added special touches and impeccable presentation.

" I first came as a guest for yacht week in 2019 " , explains Babi , the Brazilian born host of our particular yacht. " After that week I knew I wanted to keep coming back to Yacht Week, so I decided the easiest way to do that was to work for Yacht Week" .

As a Yacht week host, Babi is assigned a different yacht each week where she must complete the weekly grocery shopping for the yacht and decide what meals she'll cook for her assigned group, while also having to take into account food allergies or any dietary requirements of the onboard guests; no small feat in today's world of various picky preferences eaters. From vegans to gluten free, creating a meal that suits all tastes and preferences can prove more than a little challenging at times, but Babi considers it well worth it.

" I love my job, sure it can be difficult at times, but its hard to complain when this is the backdrop every day.'" she says as she stares out into the crystal blue Croatian waters.

Another day of paradise in and out of the water on 'Yacht Week'.

Yacht Week was born almost as a joke in 2006, when friends from Sweden, William Wenkel, Johan Kuylenstierna and Erik Biörklund decided to create a travel adventure for explorers and sailing enthusiasts like themselves. The inspiration struck while they were skippering sailboats during family sailing holidays the previous year and they realized they were able to visit stunning, often secluded locations only reachable by boat, but the trips primarily only catered to families.

Wanting to offer a similar experience for close friends, they approached their charter company and persuaded them to reserve a few boats for the following summer. The idea took off from there, and the rest is history; Yacht Week was born. Today, that close-knit group of friends has grown into a vibrant community of over 70,000, with no signs of slowing down. Yacht Week has united adventurous souls, vast seas, and a collective of musicians, collaborators, sailors, and partygoers with more than 1.4 million guests having joined the Yacht Week experience to date over the past 18 years since it's inception.

" We all met through our husbands actually, " explains Rachel, 32, who hails from Texas and was experiencing her first Yacht week with five girlfriends, all military wives currently stationed with their husbands on service in Northern Italy.

" We wanted to do a girls trip together, so we decided on Yacht Week because we'd heard a lot of great things about it and thought it'd be such a different vacation experience than just spending a week in a hotel in Europe somewhere," Rachel says.

The promise of a travel experience outside the norm is one that many have been drawn to of late, with the typical European vacation no longer satisfying the average traveller who seeks an experience a little more outside the box than what may have been yearned for in the past. After all, in the days of social media influencers and aspirational travel adventures, spending a week onboard a yacht is a travel vacation that's sure to make anyone's instagram followers more than a little envious.

" We are ready to win the Yacht Week regatta. We have a whole Texan cowgirl theme ready to go" Rachel says.

This regatta she's referring to is another Yacht Week highlight, where each yacht dresses to a chosen theme, as the yachts form a parade on the seas, with sailors going all out with effort to claim the victory trophy as the Regatta winner for the week.

An 'Under the sea' theme, Winter wonderland Christmas and a performing circus act were just some of the highlights of this weeks regatta, but they were no match for the 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' themed yacht, armed with costumed Oompa Loompas and Golden Ticket themed bathing suits ,that ended up claiming a much deserved Yacht Week regatta victory. Watching the absolute insanity of 40 plus yachts sailing through the Croatian seas, filled with sailors dressed in different themed outfits while busting out dance moves and battling it out to take victory, is a win for anyone lucky enough to bear witness to a Yacht Week Regatta.

" I was worried we'd maybe be too old", confesses Jana, 36, a New Zealander traveling with her friend Renee, 35 " We'd always wanted to do Yacht Week, but figured we'd never find enough friends who could come. When we realized we could be matched with other pairs of friends and solo sailors to make up a full yacht, we decided to just go for it and booked in."

The question of age is a common one for group travel adventures like Yacht Week, and can sometimes be a cause for concern for potential sailors who feel they may not be young enough to participate, especially if judging by the social media videos and online photographs that tend to highlight an early 20's crowd, often frolicking on inflatables in the water while knocking back beers like a college frat party. However once aboard your Yacht Week experience it quickly becomes apparent that Yacht Week is so much more than the debaucherous partying and endless drinking that it may initially appear to be and there's a wider spectrum of ages than just early twenty somethings.

" The 9's are out sweet spot" explains Barry Gifford , CEO of Yacht week, " 29 and 39, is an age where people really want to do something like Yacht week, but may not have a group of friends who can just drop everything and go sailing around Europe for a week "

While partying is definitely a highlight focus of Yacht Week and the weekly sail itinerary definitely has more than a few unforgettable parties on schedule, the community of a Yacht Week sail group forms so quickly through these parties that they can truly be whatever experience guests want to take from them. Whether that experience be sitting in the corner with a small group taking in all the festivities from afar, or dancing the night away on the crowded dance floor keeping the party going late into the night, there's an experience that can be accommodated for every preference. One of the scheduled nights perfect for this is the 'Garden of love' party that takes place at the Yacht week owned Fort George in Vis, Croatia. This Croatian fortified citadel from the 19th century that overlooks two natural bays of Vis, is a venue that could easily stand in for a location in 'Game Of Thrones' , and provides an incredible locale for an epic party venue that puts the average indoor nightclub setting to shame.

Another highlight of the week is the Circle and Tunnel raft events, which you've likely seen many photos of from Yacht Week marketing materials and previous Yacht Week guests social media posts. That birds eye drone view of a perfectly formed circle or two tunnel lined rows of all the yachts for the week docked in perfect symmetry in the middle of the crystal blue bay look almost CGI generated they're so visually breathtaking, but we can confirm there's no cheeky editing tricks here, it truly looks as spectacular in reality as the photos depict.

The Tunnel Raft party in particular ends up serving as quasi nautical house party hopping event, as sailors climb aboard each others yachts in search of whichever social vibe they are feeling for the occasion. While some Yachts might be celebrating in a more low key fashion with quiet chats over drinks and perhaps a game of cards, others are taking the party up a few notches and welcoming fellow sailors onboard into their home for the week, and dancing the night away on whichever yacht has ultimately become the unofficial party host boat for the night.

" I love that we've become the party yacht for the tunnel raft." says Megan, 24 ,from New York, who's catamaran yacht she set sail on with six girlfriends had become the unofficial party host yacht of the night " As long as nobody messes with our playlist, we are happy to keep this party going to sunrise" she says with a smile, clearly proud to play host yacht to one of the most memorable Yacht Week experiences that serves as an ultimate group bonding experience.

An Incredible Birds Eye View Of The 'Tunnel Raft' Day on 'Yacht Week'.

After the Yacht Week experience sadly comes to an end for another week, with all the yachts safely docked back at shore and the sailor guests having to return to the reality of life on land once again, it's impossible to label the Yacht Week experience as just another vacation. It’s a week long journey that allows you to break away from the daily routine of life and get onboard with an escape to a new reality of life on a yacht, where every day of the week brings a new adventure.

" Everything we do is dedicated to the guest experience. We really feel the weight of making sure we live up to being the best week of our guests' lives. " explains Yacht Week CEO Barry Gifford.

This guest experience Barry refers to is clearly a top priority for the Yacht Week team, and been witness to the camaraderie that is built so quickly among sailors throughout the week is truly something special. From strangers on day one to some lifelong friendships formed by Day 7, Yacht Week offers an experience like no other, blending relaxation, celebration, and adventure into one unforgettable journey that one needs to experience themself to really understand what an unforgettable travel escapade it is.

If you're ready to join the adventure and experience the Yacht Week phenomenon, bookings are now open for 2025 Season .

Yacht Week: A Beginner’s Guide

If you could sail, swim, and celebrate on repeat each day for a week until you’re happily exhausted, you’d do it, wouldn’t you? Well, boating has just the event for that: Yacht Week. Haven’t heard of it? Here’s a Yacht Week Beginner’s Guide :

Rent. Charter. Share— only at Boatsetter

First, what is Yacht Week?

If you’ve never heard of The Yacht Week , it’s called the original floating festival. You stay aboard a skippered boat with a bunch of your friends, cruising alongside other like-minded travelers.

A skippered boat is a boat with someone who is in command of it, more or less equal to a captain! This gives your crew opportunities to focus on the fun and potentially learn boating from an experienced guide.

Options exist for per- cabin bookings, too. Regardless, for seven days, you explore convoy-style, visiting picture-perfect destinations like Croatia, Turkey, Tahiti, and the British Virgin Islands. While you have the freedom to follow your own itinerary, you get your skipper’s first-hand knowledge of where to go and what to do.

You can dine onboard or ashore , soak up the sun on secluded beaches, and of course, swim. Come at nighttime, and join your fellow adventurers at organized parties on the beach and in clubs. Or, simply star gaze on deck before drifting off to sleep.

Yacht Week’s brief history

The Yacht Week got its start nearly two decades ago. Directors and founders Eric Biorklund and William Wenckel worked for the same company as charter-boat captains in Europe when inspiration struck. A two-week period in Greece was so much fun that they became fast friends with their guests. Figuring they could replicate the success, they reserved 10 yachts for traveling together for a subsequent summer in anticipation of attracting 100 guests. It worked. They then added another five yachts to that total, which also filled up. Guests had so much fun, in fact, that they requested Biorklund and Wenckel arrange more trips. Soon the duo had more cruisers than staterooms available. So, they turned it into a dedicated business, and The Yacht Week was born.

With another business partner onboard, Biorklund and Wenckel set their sights on growing The Yacht Week internationally. That, too, worked. The company went from booking 30 boats in 2006 to more than 1,300 within a decade.

Experiences you’ve never had before

Yacht Week Experience

The Yacht Week is more than just skippered boats; the goal is to provide you with experiences you’ve never had before! For example, if you’re into techno, house music, and similar styles, the Croatia Ultra Route dates in July coincide with the Ultra Europe EDM festival. Pro Tip: Your yacht package includes VIP tickets.

While music is a big part of The Yacht Week—and cruising in general—other itineraries are more about the destinations and camaraderie.

From May through September, for instance, trips depart from Athens, Greece, and head to a number of islands. To ensure you get to know your fellow cruisers, a raft-up (anchoring your boat side by side) kicks off the first day.

Each day for the rest of the week, you can explore ancient sites and towns with guides on foot or drive an ATV through the countryside. Fun costume parties, White Parties (where you wear all white), and more occur each day, too.

To cap off the summer in style, book one of two available weeks (at presstime) in Turkey in September. You’ll enjoy the country’s famed Turquoise Coast, along its southwestern shore, starting out in Fethiye. When you go sightseeing, don’t miss the chance to partake in a Turkish bath. You’ll emerge with your skin feeling invigorated and an amazing story to share.

Pro Tip: Speaking of sharing, you’ll be sharing picture after picture on social media with your friends and family back home. The Yacht Week also has professional photographers and videographers on hand during each itinerary to ensure the best moments get captured.

Get a feel for boating

If you’re curious about how the boat operates, feel free to ask questions. Captains love sharing their knowledge and passion, so you can take a turn at the wheel as well. Plenty of cruisers become friends, too, with their fellow passengers, planning future cruises upon returning home. That’s what ultimately makes The Yacht Week a week to remember for a lifetime.

The yachts are well-equipped with multiple cabins, allowing you and your crew to have your own private sleeping quarters. Each cabin typically accommodates two people, making it easy to allocate sleeping arrangements among your crew.

Common areas on the yacht include a spacious salon where you can gather and relax, a fully equipped kitchenette to prepare meals, and dining areas both indoors and outdoors. The yachts also feature bathroom facilities, including showers and toilets, ensuring convenience throughout your trip.

It’s important to note that the yachts provided during The Yacht Week Croatia are fully crewed. Each yacht is assigned a professional skipper who is responsible for navigating the yacht, handling sails, and ensuring the safety of all onboard. Having a skipper allows you to sit back, relax, and fully enjoy the experience without the stress of sailing the yacht yourself.

While the yachts offer a comfortable living space, it’s important to manage expectations regarding space and privacy. With a limited amount of space onboard, it’s essential to be mindful of your fellow crew members and maintain a respectful and considerate atmosphere.

Outside of your yacht, there are also additional accommodation options available for those who prefer to stay on land. Some participants choose to book a hotel or villa before or after The Yacht Week to extend their stay and explore more of Croatia’s incredible destinations. This allows for a mix of onboard and onshore experiences.

Keep in mind that booking separate accommodation on land may require additional planning and coordination. However, it can provide an opportunity for some downtime and a chance to experience the local culture and amenities.

Overall, the yachts provided during The Yacht Week Croatia offer a comfortable and convenient accommodation option for your sailing adventure. With well-appointed cabins, communal living spaces, and professional skippers, you can enjoy the perfect balance of comfort, adventure, and socializing during your time on the yacht.

Yacht Selection

Choosing the right yacht is an essential part of planning your Yacht Week Croatia adventure. The Yacht Week offers a range of different yachts to cater to various group sizes, budgets, and preferences.

When selecting a yacht, here are a few factors to consider:

1. Group Size: Determine the number of people in your crew. Yachts can accommodate different group sizes, from smaller yachts for intimate groups to larger yachts for bigger parties. Make sure the yacht has enough cabins and sleeping arrangements to comfortably accommodate everyone.

2. Yacht Type: Consider the type of yacht that suits your preferences. The Yacht Week offers a variety of options, including monohulls, catamarans, and luxury yachts. Monohulls offer a more traditional sailing experience, while catamarans provide spacious and stable platforms for socializing. Luxury yachts provide additional amenities and a higher level of comfort.

3. Amenities: Check the amenities available onboard the yacht. Some yachts offer additional features such as air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, swimming platforms, and water toys. These amenities can enhance your sailing experience and provide extra fun and convenience.

4. Budget: Set a budget for your yacht rental. Yachts range in price based on their size, age, and level of luxury. Consider the overall cost of the yacht rental, including fuel, provisioning, and any additional fees. It’s important to align your budget with the type and size of the yacht you choose.

5. Skipper or Bareboat: Decide whether you want to charter the yacht with a skipper or as a bareboat. Having a professional skipper onboard can provide peace of mind and let you fully enjoy the experience, especially if you’re not an experienced sailor. If you have the necessary qualifications and experience, you may opt for a bareboat charter and take the helm yourself.

6. Age and Condition: Take into consideration the age and condition of the yacht. Newer yachts may offer upgraded features and a more modern design. However, older yachts can still be charming and well-maintained. Research the yacht’s history and reviews to ensure you choose a reliable and comfortable vessel.

7. Yacht Charter Company: Work with a reputable yacht charter company or The Yacht Week organizers to book your yacht. Ensure they have a good track record of providing quality yachts and reliable service. Read reviews and gather recommendations to make an informed decision.

It’s important to note that the availability of specific yachts may vary depending on the time of booking. Popular yachts tend to book up quickly, so it’s recommended to book your yacht well in advance to secure your preferred choice.

Remember, selecting the right yacht will contribute to the overall enjoyment of your Yacht Week Croatia experience. Consider your group’s size, preferences, and budget to choose a yacht that meets your needs and ensures an unforgettable week of sailing and celebration.

Crewing Options

When participating in The Yacht Week Croatia, there are various crewing options available to accommodate different preferences and group dynamics. Here are some crewing options to consider:

1. Full Crew: If you have a group of friends or a pre-existing crew, you can book a full yacht and sail together. This option allows you to have full control over who you share the yacht with, ensuring a comfortable and familiar environment. You can customize the experience according to your group’s preferences and have a cohesive dynamic throughout the trip.

2. Partial Crew: If you have a smaller group or are open to meeting new people, you can book a partial yacht and be paired with other individuals or smaller crews. This week in credit card news: trump proposes short term cap on credit card interest rates.

Trump Proposes Credit Card Interest Caps

Donald Trump made headlines Wednesday night, promising a crowd in New York he would, if restored to the White House, put a “temporary cap on credit card interest rates … at around 10%,” if he were elected. Doing so would require Congress to pass legislation, a move lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have proposed in recent years. Consumer banks like JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup earn a tidy share of the roughly $120 billion in credit-card interest and fees Americans pay each year, and industry groups have fought past efforts to cap fees by arguing that it would make it difficult for Americans to get approved for credit cards. The Fed’s Interest Rate Cut Reflects an Increasingly Troubled Economy

On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve lowered its benchmark interest rate by half a percentage point. The action will take the rate to between 4.75% and 5% immediately. The Fed also announced more cuts are likely before the end of the year. The combination suggests the Fed is taking the threat of a slowdown to the American economy seriously. It’s about time; in fact, it’s long past time. The signs of trouble in the economy are increasing. Credit card debt has been rising over the past year. So, too, have credit card delinquencies, which are now at their highest rate since the 2008 financial crisis. Auto loan delinquencies are up as well. Unemployment, though still a relatively low 4.2%, is nearly half a percentage point higher than a year ago. Payroll growth is slowing, and the job market is stagnating, particularly for white-collar workers. [ MSNBC ]

JPMorgan in Talks with Apple over Goldman Credit Card Partnership

JPMorgan Chase is in talks with Apple about replacing Goldman Sachs as the tech giant's credit-card partner. The discussions started earlier this year and have advanced in recent weeks, but any potential deal could still be months away. Goldman and Apple reportedly pulled the plug last year on their partnership, which included credit cards and savings accounts. Goldman is facing a costly exit from the partnership that is seen by other lenders as too risky and unprofitable. After its foray into consumer banking flopped, Goldman has refocused on its traditional mainstays: investment banking and trading. [ Reuters ]

CFPB Takes Aim at ATM, Debit Card Fees

Banks must maintain evidence that customers have opted in to overdraft coverage, the CFPB said. The agency is fighting what it calls “phantom opt-in” agreements, in which banks claim they obtained customers’ consent to charge fees on overdrawn accounts but have no proof of that accord. A signed form, an unalterable electronic signature or a recorded phone call can serve as proof that consumers opted in to overdraft coverage. The bureau also emphasized that under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act’s Regulation E, overdraft coverage is an opt-in process rather than a default from which consumers opt out. [ Payments Dive ]

U.S. retail sales are expected to rise 3.2% in the holiday season as companies look to deals to attract thrifty shoppers during a shorter-than-usual shopping window this year, a Mastercard forecast showed on Thursday. In comparison, retail sales rose 3.1% between Nov. 1 and Dec. 24 of 2023, according to the report from Mastercard Economics Institute. A smaller shopping window this year, with only 27 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas, could also push retailers into launching higher promotions earlier in the season. Affirm CEO Says More Retailers Offering Interest-Free Buy Now, Pay Later Loans

Affirm is seeing increased interest from retailers to subsidize U.S. consumer borrowing ahead of the holiday season, as more shoppers turn to buy now, pay later providers to finance their spending. Chief Executive Officer Max Levchin said more retailers have an appetite for eating interest-linked costs as a way of offering zero-interest loans to entice shoppers. What it’s like on a €70,000 per week, 80ft motor yacht charter

  • Cruise Safer
  • Top stories

Charter company Lumi Yachts is named after the Finnish word for snow, but a few days on board its brand new Princess Y80 is enough to melt anyone’s heart

What would be your ideal holiday if you lived in a country so cold it had 40 different words for snow? How about sunbathing on the deck of a brand new Princess Y80 while a smiling crew member topped up your gin and tonic? It would certainly be very near the top of my list and I am guessing it’s the same for the two Finnish businessmen who bought the very first Princess Y80 off the production line, set it up as a charter business and called it Lumi – one of the many native words for, you guessed it, snow.

Sitting on its home berth in Cala d’Or marina, Mallorca, Lumi certainly looks as clean, white and sparkling as freshly fallen snow but the sun warming our backs at the tail end of October tells a very different story. We’re here to spend a few days on board so we can experience what it’s like to be a charter guest on this very special boat.

It’s rare enough to spend any length of time aboard an 80ft motor yacht but three days and nights on a brand new model we haven’t even sea trialled yet is next-level lucky.

Skipper Paul Askew and stewardess Liz Jepson are on hand to greet us, chilled champagne at the ready to help erase the memories of our Ryanair flight – most guests opt for a rather more exclusive means of arrival! I’ve met Paul before when he was working as a charter skipper for Boats.co.uk so we know we’re in safe hands and Liz seems equally happy to meet us.

After a quick tour of the boat, and to the surprise of absolutely no-one, my wife and I opt for the midships master while our friends Dan and Victoria settle for the forward VIP. That still leaves two very comfortable ensuite doubles free for other guests without anyone feeling like a second class citizen.

A spotless-looking Lumi on her home berth in Cala d’Or, Mallorca

Not that there’s any danger of that in our party. Dan and Victoria are experienced sailors but their idea of boating is night sailing across the Channel in a 30-year-old bilge-keeler, so sleeping in a king-sized double bed with hot and cold running crew is all rather overwhelming. Luckily, Victoria seems to be getting the hang of it just fine, especially after the second glass of champagne!

Dan is proving a little more reluctant to embrace the dark side (all motor boats are regarded with a degree of scepticism) but soon warms up when talk turns to today’s cruising itinerary. The plan is to potter gently south along the east coast of Mallorca, stopping off at a couple of pretty Calas en route for a bite to eat before heading out to the national marine park of Cabrera, some 10nm further south, to spend the night on a buoy.

Easing along Cala d’Or’s long, slender entrance channel, lined on both sides with what looks like an entire year’s output of the combined European boat building industry, is my idea of heaven even if the girls seem rather more smitten by the luxury villas keeping watch over them from the hillsides above – each to their own!

Sheltered as we are from the prevailing southerly, it comes as a bit of a surprise to witness white horses on the peaks of the waves as we nose out of the entrance into the rolling swell. At this time of year you do have to take your chances with the weather, unlike the wall-to-wall sunshine that is all but guaranteed between May and September.

Smiles all round greet another of Liz’s magnificent lunchtime spreads

The plus side of cruising here in October is that the sea is still a balmy 24 degrees and the beaches, marinas and restaurants are far less crowded than during the peak summer months. Besides, it will take more than a few white caps to spill your drink on a boat as large and seaworthy as this one.

Cala hopping

Safely ensconced up on the flybridge we settle into a relaxed canter, gently rising and falling with the motion of the waves, blissfully unperturbed by the occasional bursts of spray being thrown out from Lumi ’s bow. Even from the co-pilot’s sea, it’s clear this is a very capable sea boat.

Right on cue, Paul points the bow in towards another narrow fissure in the cliffs called Cala Figuera. This one’s barely any wider than the boat is long and the further we crawl up its narrowing channel, the more impressed I am by Paul’s close-quarters control. One false move and we’ll be graunching the metalwork on the cliffs. When it’s clear we can go no further, he spins Lumi on its axis and heads back out the way we came before pushing on south towards Cap Saline, the southernmost tip of Mallorca.

Before we leave the shelter of land altogether, Paul tucks up under the lee of Cala Lombards, dropping anchor but leaving the stabilisers on so we can enjoy our first lunch on board; a fabulous spread of fresh tomatoes, basil and burrata with serrano ham, rocket and parmesan. Served in Lumi ’s aft cockpit, it’s a perfect opportunity to admire how the Y80’s longitudinal dinette arrangement gives everyone a much better view than the usual athwartships layout. It seems so obvious that you wonder why it took so long for designers to come up with it.

Fully fed and watered, the girls retire to the teak sunloungers with a book and a glass of rosé, while Dan and I join Paul at the upper helm for the passage across to Cabrera. Yomping along at 10-12 knots with the engines purring away and the silhouette of the islands gradually growing larger on the horizon, it’s an exhilarating feeling.

Cala Figuera is barely any wider than the boat is long and the further we crawl up its tapering channel the more impressed I become

Cabrera nights

Less than an hour later, we’re passing through the gap in the outer islands, the low-lying sun casting long shadows on the ochre-coloured earth of this beautiful but barren landscape. Pretty as they are, the islands hide a dark history; in 1808 some 9,000 French prisoners were abandoned here but intermittent supplies from the mainland and few natural resources to rely on meant only 3,600 of them survived long enough to be repatriated in 1814.

These days the whole archipelago is a protected national park inhabited only by a handful of staff who look after it and manage the visitors’ moorings in the large natural harbour.

A buoy in the shadow of Cabrera’s castle provided a memorable overnight stay

Paul has pre-booked one of the buoys and it’s here, in the shadow of the 14th-century castle perched at the entrance to the bay, that we find our spot. Once secured, Paul wastes no time launching the Williams Sportjet 435 from Lumi ’s hydraulic platform and whisking us across the bay to visit a large natural cave. Steadying pole removed to reduce our air draft, we penetrate deep into the mouth of the cave, voices echoing off the rocky walls as the light from the entrance fades to a pinprick behind us.

By the time we return, the sun has set and Lumi is lit up from the inside like a giant glass lantern. A more welcoming sight is hard to imagine, especially with the aroma of Liz’s cooking drifting out from the midships galley. There’s just time for a quick swim in the illuminated pools of Lumi ’s underwater lights before supper is served; chilled gazpacho followed by an authentic Spanish paella with succulent octopus and prawns the size of cigars. Heavy with food, wine and the excitement of a day well spent, we collapse into the embrace of our wonderfully soft, cosy beds.

Windy weather

Waking to the gentle gurgle of water lapping against the hull, two things quickly become clear. First, the wind has started to pick up and second, even though I can feel the stabilisers working, both the fins and the generator are all but inaudible in the master cabin – a major improvement on previous boats I’ve slept on.

With the forecast predicting 30-knot winds this afternoon, Paul recommends heading back to the safety of Cala d’Or and spending a day in the marina, exploring the many onsite restaurants and bars, which we happily agree to.

There’s no point getting beaten up just for the sake of sticking to a pre-planned itinerary; far better to go with the flow and make the most of the boat and location. In fact, we all rather enjoy a quiet day checking out the local beach, dining at a fabulous fish restaurant and coming and going from our luxury floating hotel where there’s always a hot shower and a cool drink at the ready.

the yacht week cap

The view that greets you every time you wake up in Lumi’s magnificent master cabin

The next day dawns bright and clear and after another fine breakfast of freshly baked croissants, scrambled eggs and locally sourced yoghurt and honey, we’re all keen to get back out to sea. The wind has died but a residual swell provides another chance to admire the Y80 in action, including a quick burst of throttle to see what those big 1,900hp MAN engines can do – an impressive 32.5 knots is the answer albeit at the cost of over 700lph (something to bear in mind when planning your own itinerary).

At Paul’s suggestion, we’re popping a few miles down the coast to Cala Mondrago, reputed to be one of Mallorca’s prettiest anchorages, with a pristine beach and wonderfully unspoilt surroundings. We arrive just as a small fleet of sailing yachts are leaving, freeing up a spot right at the head of the inlet where it splits into two natural coves. With practised efficiency Paul and Liz drop the hook in water so clear you can see the anchor settling into the white sand below. Minutes later the platform is lowered, the tender launched and an array of water toys is at our disposal, including an ever popular Seabob.

Cala Mondrago deserves its reputation as one of Mallorca’s prettiest anchorages

Cala Mondrago

Dan and the girls drive straight in, while Paul takes me off for a tour of the Cala in the Williams to find the best angle for photographs. This is truly Instagram heaven with hidden inlets, rocky promontories and a handful of spectacular villas providing the perfect backdrop for the Y80, occupying centre stage at the heart of the action. There’s no denying that Lumi is a very pretty-looking boat and it’s hard not to feel a little bit smug at all the envious eyes pointed in our direction.

We return to the boat just in time to hear gales of laughter from Victoria as she scoots around the boat behind the Seabob. Dan is quick to follow, heading off to the rocks where the waves have worn a natural tunnel through the cliffs. We watch him disappear cautiously into the gloom before reappearing 30 seconds later on the other side of the headland. It’s moments like this that make a charter holiday such an unforgettable experience.

the yacht week cap

The Seabobs and Williams Sportjet means there’s plenty to keep guests entertained

Feeling suitably refreshed, we ask Paul to drop us off at an old landing stage on one side of the bay so we can walk around the two long branches of the Cala. A coastal path leads up through wooded headland before working its way back down to the fine sandy beach where the last of the season’s holidaymakers are splashing about in the sapphire blue waters. It’s hard to believe that today is 1 November.

We pick our way along the rocks at the head of the bay then along the cliffs to the second beach before calling Paul to pick us up from an old boat house tunnelled into the rocks on the other side. With consummate skill, he manoeuvres the 435’s bow close enough for us to hop across from the rocks before whisking us back to the boat in our very own waterborne limo service.

the yacht week cap

Mallorca’s many Calas mean there’s always an attractive sheltered spot to drop anchor

Porto Petro

For our final night, Paul has booked a buoy in the neighbouring natural harbour of Porto Petro so after another glorious lunch under the shade of the flybridge hard top, we weigh anchor and head round the corner to this pretty little fishing village. Once again Paul is on hand to drop us ashore for a beer or three in a quayside bar, where we watch the sun set over our floating home from home. Tomorrow we’ll come crashing back to reality but for the moment all four of us are living the dream and relishing every moment of it.

Chartering a boat like this doesn’t come cheap but being able to share precious moments like this with family and friends while being royally looked after by Liz and Paul is a truly unforgettable experience. Even hardened sailor Dan has fallen for Lumi ’s charms, while secretly cursing me for setting such an absurdly high bar for any future boating holidays. I know how he feels, my 22ft Karnic sportsfisher will never feel quite the same again but even if this proves to be the peak of my boating career, I will go to my grave knowing that for a few dazzling days I’ve lived like a royalty aboard the ultimate Snow Princess.

NFL Week 2: Biggest questions, takeaways for every game

the yacht week cap

Week 2 of the NFL season began Thursday night with a Buffalo Bills blowout win over the Miami Dolphins . Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left the game in the third quarter with a concussion.

On Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tamed the Detroit Lions , and the New Orleans Saints ' offense proved to be too much for the Dallas Cowboys . Packers quarterback Malik Willis helped lead Green Bay to its first win of the season, while the Lamar Jackson -led Baltimore Ravens fell to the Las Vegas Raiders .

The Arizona Cardinals ' 31-point win over the Los Angeles Rams was spearheaded by big performances from quarterback Kyler Murray and rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr .

Sunday night featured the Houston Texans blitzing their way to a victory over Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears . Monday night's Week 2 finale featured the Atlanta Falcons rallying to take down the Philadelphia Eagles .

Our NFL Nation reporters reacted to all the action, answering lingering questions coming out of each game and detailing everything else you need to know for every team. Let's get to it.

Can the Falcons offense figure things out for four quarters? For the second straight week, the Falcons played well on defense. But the offense faltered until the final drive. Atlanta has just three touchdowns in eight quarters. Quarterback Kirk Cousins did not appear to be back in form after a torn right Achilles ended his 2023 season until his game-saving performance with 1:39 left. The Falcons host the Kansas City Chiefs next week, followed by two huge division games against the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers .

Eye-popping stat: Cousins has six go-ahead pass touchdowns in the final minute of regulation or overtime since becoming a full-time starter in 2015. Only one quarterback has more during that period of time: Derek Carr , with eight. That's a good reminder of who the Falcons paid $100 million guaranteed for.

Describe the game in two words: Tremendous save. The Falcons were on the verge of going down 0-2 with the Chiefs coming to town in Week 3. Cousins, with the help of his receivers, managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in what was as close to a must-win game there could be in Week 2. -- Marc Raimondi

Next game: vs. Chiefs (Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

Can the Eagles rebound from this gut-punch loss? Following a 1-6 collapse, the question entering this season is how the Eagles would deal with adversity when it inevitably hit. They'll get that test early after blowing a late lead to Atlanta. They will have to get by with A.J. Brown for at least one more game. Brown told ESPN reporter Lisa Salters he expects to miss "a couple of weeks" with his injured hamstring.

Describe the game in two words: Brutal loss. The win was in the Eagles' hands before Atlanta ripped it away with a six-play, 70-yard drive in the closing moments. A last-ditch effort by the Eagles offense ended in a Jalen Hurts interception.

Eye-popping stat: Cousins was pressured on just 2-of-14 dropbacks (14%) in the first half, the lowest rate he's faced in any half since Week 1 of 2023. -- Tim McManus

Next game: at Saints (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

Houston 19, Chicago 13

the yacht week cap

How can the Texans get all three receivers involved? The Texans have a dynamic receiving trio of Stefon Diggs , Tank Dell and Nico Collins . While Collins had his second consecutive 100-yard game (135), Dell and Diggs combined for 30 yards. That's been the theme through two weeks. Diggs has two touchdowns in 2024 but 70 yards receiving. Dell hasn't made many plays either, totaling 33 receiving yards. Offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik must figure out how to get other playmakers involved to reach their potential.

Biggest hole in the game plan : Slowik strayed from a balanced offense. C.J. Stroud dropped back 39 times but Slowik called 21 rushing plays for 76 yards. The Texans had success running the ball in Week 1 as Joe Mixon reached 159 rushing yards on 30 carries against the Colts. Mixon was battling an ankle injury Sunday.

Eye-popping advanced stat : Cornerback Derek Stingley Jr . guarded Bears receiver DJ Moore on 28 routes and allowed 52 yards while snagging an interception. Stingley followed Moore for the majority of the game. -- DJ Bien-Aime

Next game: at Vikings (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

How can the offense better support Caleb Williams? At times, the No. 1 pick looked better in his second outing (two of his best passes came on Chicago's lone scoring drive and were negated by a penalty and a drop by WR Rome Odunze ). Williams finished 23-of-37 for 174 yards, no touchdowns, 2 interceptions and a 51.0 passer rating. The Bears had no answer to Houston's blitz and failed to protect Williams, who was sacked seven times. After going 0-for-5 under pressure against the Titans, Williams was 2-of-9 for 20 yards with two interceptions while pressured against Houston.

Describe the game in two words: Costly mistakes. Chicago's nine penalties, including three on special teams, put the offense behind the chains. And two of those came on the offensive line for false starts after timeouts. Matt Eberflus threw two questionable challenge flags, and Williams forced a throw into coverage that resulted in his second interception.

Biggest hole in the game plan: Chicago's run game was nonexistent for a second straight week. D'Andre Swift totaled 18 yards on 14 rushes (1.3 yards per carry). Williams' scrambling (44 yards) accounted for most of the damage on a night when play design and poor run blocking made the Bears one-dimensional offensively. -- Courtney Cronin

Next game: at Colts (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

Kansas City 26, Cincinnati 25

the yacht week cap

What has happened to tight end Travis Kelce ? Kelce has disappeared from the passing game. He had just one catch for 5 yards after a three-catch, 34-yard performance last week against the Ravens. The Chiefs are deeper at wide receiver than they' have been in recent years and have receiving alternatives at tight end in Noah Gray and Jared Wiley , so they don't consistently need big production from Kelce every week. But it's difficult to see them being as dynamic offensively without getting more from Kelce.

Biggest hole in the game plan: Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw just 13 passes in the first half as the Chiefs attempted 18 running plays. They were mostly productive but generated just 10 first-half points. The Chiefs need their running game to help take some pressure off Mahomes and the passing attack, but when they are out of balance like this, they're not maximizing their return from their best player.

Most surprising performance: Mahomes. He threw a pair of interceptions and had a third called back because of a Bengals penalty. Mahomes tried but failed to get a big play downfield other than a 44-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Rashee Rice . Otherwise, the Chiefs had no pass play of more than 16 yards. -- Adam Teicher

Next game: at Falcons (Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

What does this performance say about QB Joe Burrow 's wrist ? Cincinnati couldn't have asked for a more encouraging showing from Burrow. After the downfield passing attack was absent toward the end of training camp and in the season opener, Burrow was more willing to push the ball deep. He also embraced contact without any reservations, which led to some important gains (and also a fumble that was returned for a touchdown). But the outing bodes well for Burrow as he continues to come back from the right wrist injury that ended his previous season.

Describe the game in two words: Another classic. It looked like the Bengals were on the brink of pulling out an unlikely victory despite being 6.5-point underdogs. But a late penalty by rookie Daijahn Anthony on fourth-and-16 put Kansas City in position for the winning field goal.

Eye-popping advanced stat: Burrow had an average of 2.88 seconds to throw against Kansas City, per NFL Next Gen Stats. Cincinnati's offensive line deserves a ton of credit for giving Burrow ample time in the pocket. -- Ben Baby

Next game: vs. Commanders (Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET)

Pittsburgh 13, Denver 6

the yacht week cap

Is the defense as good as it has shown in the first two weeks? The Steelers' defense has given up 16 points this season, the fewest points it has allowed through the first two weeks since 2007. But the second-half defensive performance didn't quite match up with the first half, when the Steelers held the Broncos to 62 total yards and 29 passing yards. The Broncos found second-half success with Bo Nix in the pass game and moved the ball through chunk plays. But the defense still came up with timely plays as Cory Trice Jr . hauled in an interception after back-to-back pass plays of 26 and 49 yards. With the Chargers coming to Pittsburgh in Week 3, the Steelers will face their biggest challenge to date.

Early prediction for next week: QB Justin Fields starts against in the Steelers' home opener. Though Fields had an uneven performance, he played well enough for the Steelers to continue to be cautious with Russell Wilson 's calf injury. Fields completed 10 of 12 attempts for 101 yards and a touchdown pass -- his first as a Steeler -- in the first half.

Describe the game in two words: Inconsistent offense. The Steelers followed the game plan to near perfection -- save for a slew of offensive line penalties -- in the first half by dominating the time of possession, making smart throws and getting strong running back play. They entered the break with a 10-0 lead and converted 4 of 6 third downs. It didn't continue in the second half. Penalties put the offense behind the chains and the Steelers failed to sustain drives. -- Brooke Pryor

Next game: vs. Chargers (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

What can the Broncos do on offense to help QB Bo Nix? The Broncos had three first downs and 62 yards at halftime, Nix had 39 yards passing midway through the third quarter and the Denver offense couldn't provide much en route to a 0-2 start. For the second consecutive week, coach Sean Payton kept the offense in a bevy of three-WR sets and didn't utilize the run game much (only seven rushes in the first half). The only life the Broncos' offense showed was on a 49-yard trick play between Nix and Josh Reynolds in the third quarter, but Nix threw an interception in the end zone one play later. Denver might need to play out of bulkier personnel groupings and grind it out until Nix finds his footing.

Early prediction for next week: The Buccaneers' pass rush will come after Nix. The league's schedule maker did Nix no favors, with his first four games coming against head coaches with long, productive defensive résumés. Mike Macdonald (Seahawks) and Mike Tomlin (Steelers) have held the Broncos to 26 points in two games, and now Tampa Bay's Todd Bowles lurks in Week 3. Bowles routinely attacks opposing quarterbacks, and it would be surprising if he didn't send regular pressure at Nix.

Most surprising performance: Cornerback Pat Surtain II . It was more shocking than surprising, but Surtain might have had his most difficult day as a pro. He had two holding penalties -- one on special teams -- and a pass interference penalty. He also surrendered a third-down catch to George Pickens in the first half. It was uncharacteristic for Surtain, who has been the Broncos' most consistent, impactful player since entering the NFL in 2021. -- Jeff Legwold

Next game: at Buccaneers (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

Arizona 41, L.A. Rams 10

the yacht week cap

Is this what the Cardinals' offense can look like every week? It sure looks like it. Take what Arizona did in Buffalo in Week 1 and compound that with the showing Sunday against the Rams, in which the Cardinals put up 41 points and 489 yards while featuring a 100-yard receiver in Marvin Harrison Jr . and 100-yard rusher in James Conner . The Cardinals are averaging 34.5 points per game and 374 yards in their two games.

Describe the game in two words: Rookie breakout. The Cardinals' rookie wide receiver followed a one-catch performance in his NFL debut with 130 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter of his first home game. Both of his scores were electric, showcasing his versatility with a toe-drag catch in the back of the end zone as well as one that ended with him outrunning a defensive back for a diving touchdown.

Early prediction for next week: Harrison will do it again against the Lions in the second of three straight home games, but he will be used more throughout the game. -- Josh Weinfuss

Next game: vs. Lions (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

What will the passing offense look like if WR Cooper Kupp misses time with his ankle injury? The Rams' depth at the position is already being tested with wide receiver Puka Nacua going on injured reserve with a knee injury. If Kupp misses time and Los Angeles doesn't add to the room, the Rams will rely on a top three receiving corps of Demarcus Robinson , Tyler Johnson and either Tutu Atwell or rookie sixth-round pick Jordan Whittington . Quarterback Matthew Stafford and the offense struggled to move the ball against the Cardinals, finishing with 245 total yards.

Biggest hole in the game plan: A week after the Lions ran the ball seven times to go the length of the field for the overtime win, the Rams' defense struggled to stop the run against Arizona. The Cardinals ran with ease, finishing with 231 yards, including 59 yards on five carries for quarterback Kyler Murray .

Most surprising performance: Running back Kyren Williams . While the Cardinals ran all over the field, the Rams did not. Williams scored a touchdown late in the third quarter, but the Rams struggled to move the ball on the ground for most of the game. Williams ran for 25 yards on 12 carries. His average of 2.1 yards per carry Sunday is his lowest mark in a game since becoming the starter last season. -- Sarah Barshop

Next game: vs. 49ers (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET)

Las Vegas 26, Baltimore 23

the yacht week cap

So THIS is what the offense is supposed to look like? After an anemic six-plus quarters of football -- the Raiders had only 48 yards of offense at halftime in Baltimore -- quarterback Gardner Minshew , wide receiver Davante Adams & Co. came to life. Trailing by 10 points with 12 minutes to play, Las Vegas became a juggernaut as Adams finished with nine catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. The offense's awakening gave the defense a breather and complementary football led to the win.

Biggest hole in the game plan: The Raiders forgot to pack their running game on offense. Or did you miss Las Vegas rushing for 4 yards in the first half? Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy authored the NFL's top-ranked rushing attack in 2022 for the Bears and was No. 2 last season. What gives?

Most surprising performance: Defensive end Maxx Crosby . When he wasn't in Ravens QB Lamar Jackson 's face -- he sacked the elusive QB twice -- the talkative Raiders edge rusher was in Jackson's ear. And for good reason. After Jackson ran for 122 yards and seven first downs during the Ravens' season-opening loss at Kansas City, Crosby helped limit Jackson to just 20 yards on the ground. -- Paul Gutierrez

Next game: vs. Panthers (Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

Can the Ravens rebound from an 0-2 start? This is essentially uncharted territory for the Ravens. The only time Baltimore has started 0-2 in coach John Harbaugh's previous 16 seasons was in 2015, when the team finished with its worst record under him (5-11). After failing to hold a 10-point lead against the Raiders with 12 minutes remaining Sunday, Baltimore has dug itself in a hole. The Ravens' next three games are against two defending division champions -- at Dallas and home against Buffalo -- and at Cincinnati. QB Lamar Jackson has work to do to get Baltimore back on track as one of the top Super Bowl contenders.

Describe the game in two words: Another collapse. This marks the Ravens' fourth loss after leading by double digits in the fourth quarter since 2022. This ties the Bears for the most in the NFL in that span, according to ESPN Research. The Ravens can blame only themselves for that fourth-quarter collapse. A false start by running back Derrick Henry on the Ravens' version of the tush push stopped Baltimore from converting a third-and-1. A pass interference penalty by cornerback Brandon Stephens set up the Raiders' game-tying touchdown.

Eye-popping advanced stat: Justin Tucker , the most accurate kicker in NFL history, is having trouble with longer kicks. Tucker, 34, missed wide left from 56 yards, which makes him 1-for-7 from 50 yards over the past two seasons. He had been one of the best from distance. In his first 11 seasons, Tucker's 57 field goals from 50 yards or longer ranked second over that span. -- Jamison Hensley

Next game: at Cowboys (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET)

Cleveland 18, Jacksonville 13

the yacht week cap

Is this closer to what the Browns' new offense wants to be? The Browns' offense wasn't perfect by any means, but it put forth a much better effort than its Week 1 no-show. Cleveland ran the ball well and frequently brought in extra linemen to get the ground game going. Penalties continued to be an issue, but the Browns got cleaner play from quarterback Deshaun Watson , who didn't turn the ball over and rushed for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Describe the game in two words: Undisciplined football. After the Browns were flagged for 11 accepted penalties in Week 1, they committed 13 penalties that were accepted Sunday. They were especially undisciplined late, with three infractions negating a potential game-sealing touchdown drive and giving the ball back to the Jaguars.

Early prediction for next week: The Browns' offense will break out against the Giants. The unit wasn't great against Jacksonville but showed signs of life in the first half. The Browns could finally get one or both of their top tackles back next week in Jedrick Wills Jr . and Jack Conklin , which could help jump-start the unit. -- Daniel Oyefusi

Next game: vs. Giants (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

Can the Jaguars salvage September? After an 0-2 start, they still have road games at Buffalo next Monday night and at Houston the following week. Only one team has made the playoffs after an 0-4 start: The 1992 San Diego Chargers. This team has to overcome some major issues, starting with an offense that was missing for nearly three quarters against the Browns. Owner Shad Khan said before the season that the time to win is now, and missing the playoffs puts the potential for changes on the table.

Biggest hole in the game plan: Losing tight end Evan Engram in pregame warmups to a hamstring injury forced the Jaguars to adjust their game plan less than two hours before kickoff. Second-year player Brenton Strange got more work but Engram is a major part of the offense, especially when the Jaguars want to execute short, quick throws to essentially function as part of the run game or slow down the pass rush. There isn't another tight end on the roster who can do what Engram does, though Strange did step up in the intermediate pass game with three receptions for 65 yards.

Early prediction for next week: Rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr . will become a bigger part of the offense. He delivered a big play for the second week in a row -- catching a 66-yard pass on a post pattern to set the Jaguars up inside the 10-yard line for their only touchdown. He had only four targets last week and three this week, but he's averaging 22.6 yards on his five catches. -- Mike DiRocco

Next game: at Bills (Monday, 7:30 p.m. ET)

Washington 21, N.Y. Giants 18

the yacht week cap

Did Washington discover its run game? Quarterback Jayden Daniels needs more help, and the run game provided it Sunday. Running back Brian Robinson Jr . had the two longest runs of his career (32 and 40 yards) en route to 133 yards. His power inside made a big difference, and Austin Ekeler 's contributions in the pass game fueled the offense. Ekeler caught three passes for 47 yards and ran eight times for 38 more. Washington needs to find its identity and lacks firepower in the pass game, but if the run game produces it can at least control the game and limit the defense's time on the field.

Describe the game in two words: Ugly win. But it sure beats a pretty loss for a group that's trying to rebuild the franchise. Daniels was sacked five times but led a game-winning drive -- thanks to a 34-yard pass and 14-yard run -- that was capped by Austin Seibert 's seventh field goal.

Biggest hole in the game plan: Washington's coverage plan for Malik Nabers . Washington used backup Mike Davis against the Giants rookie for the first half and it did not go well as Nabers caught five passes for 73 yards. The Commanders kept playing man against Nabers in key spots, and he'd beat them on crossers. -- John Keim

Next game: at Bengals (Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

Is this finally a step in the right direction for QB Daniel Jones ? It's hard to tell. Why? Jones always seems to play well against Washington. He threw a pair of touchdown passes Sunday and now has 12 TD tosses and three interceptions against the Commanders in his career. Jones continued the trend by playing well in this matchup, making good plays even late in the fourth quarter. It had to be good for his confidence. That's huge considering it was a concern entering Week 2.

Biggest hole in the game plan: The Giants didn't have a kicker. Yes, that really happened. They couldn't even try to kick a field goal to take the lead with just over two minutes remaining because Graham Gano pulled his hamstring chasing down the opening kickoff. The problem was that the Giants knew Gano was already hurt entering Sunday (they added him to the injury report Saturday with a groin problem) and didn't leave themselves with a contingency.

Most surprising performance: Wide receiver Malik Nabers . It's not that surprising that the No. 6 draft pick is playing well, but what is surprising is his 18 targets -- the most for a rookie since Rams receiver Puka Nacua 's 20 in Week 2 last season. Nabers wasn't just part of the game plan, he was the game plan for the Giants. He finished with 10 catches for 127 yards and his first career touchdown. Only problem is that his fourth-down drop with just over two minutes remaining deep in Washington territory was costly. -- Jordan Raanan

Next game: at Browns (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

Seattle 23, New England 20

the yacht week cap

Is QB Geno Smith one of the NFL's most clutch quarterbacks? Smith routinely came through in crunch time last season, throwing a single-season record seven go-ahead touchdown passes in the fourth quarter or overtime. He did it again Sunday, leading field goal drives to tie the game late in regulation and win it in OT. Smith finished 33-of-44 for 327 yards, a touchdown pass and no turnovers despite five drops and next to no help from his run game, which produced 46 yards.

Early prediction for next week: The Seahawks will wear out the passing machines over the next few days in preparation to face the Dolphins. They had five drops against New England -- two apiece by DK Metcalf and Noah Fant plus another by Jaxon Smith-Njigba . Fant's second drop came just outside the red zone on their second-to-last drive of regulation.

Most surprising performance: Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He appeared poised for a breakout all offseason, and this was a matchup that seemed to suit him. But who saw this big of a day coming? Smith-Njigba's 12 catches for 117 yards on 16 targets were all career highs, easily topping his previous bests (seven catches, 11 targets, 63 yards). -- Brady Henderson

Next game: vs. Dolphins (Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

Do the Patriots have a vulnerable pass defense? The Patriots' defense was impressive in Week 1 against the Bengals but sprang some leaks as QB Geno Smith finished 33-of-44 for 327 yards and one touchdown. Some credit should go to the Seahawks and their excellent WR corps, but it wasn't without self-inflicted wounds, too. The one TD appeared to be a communication breakdown involving cornerback Christian Gonzalez and safety Kyle Dugger . There were also defensive pass interference penalties on CBs Marco Wilson and Jonathan Jones that led to a touchdown and the winning field goal in OT. The Patriots will have little time to recover with a Thursday night game against Aaron Rodgers and the Jets.

Describe the game in two words: Overtime heartbreaker. The Patriots played true to their identity in running for 185 yards and received the opening kickoff of overtime to give themselves a chance to win the game. In the end, their lack of explosiveness in the passing game and inconsistent pass defense were the difference.

Biggest hole in the game plan: Production from wide receivers in the passing game. Outside of rookie Ja'Lynn Polk 's 5-yard touchdown catch, a 7-yard Polk catch late in the fourth quarter and a 7-yard catch by K.J. Osborn in overtime, the Patriots didn't have a wide receiver register another catch. That's likely a result of the Patriots running more two-TE packages -- and TE Hunter Henry had a big day. -- Mike Reiss

Next game: at Jets (Thursday , 8:15 p.m. ET)

N.Y. Jets 24, Tennessee 17

Can QB Aaron Rodgers continue to bail out the Jets? Rodgers hit some clutch passes in the fourth quarter to save the Jets from a crushing loss and an 0-2 start, going 5-for-5 on a 74-yard drive for the game-winning touchdown. Despite pedestrian numbers -- 18-of-30 for 176 yards -- Rodgers delivered when it mattered most and didn't turn the ball over, the reason the Jets traded for him last year. He brings the kind of winning mentality they've lacked for ... well, decades. But it will be difficult to maintain unless the offense achieves more overall consistency.

Biggest hole in the game plan: Wide receiver Garrett Wilson was targeted only six times and had four receptions. Rodgers said he wanted to get Wilson more touches than last week (six), but they went in the wrong direction. He was covered a lot by cornerback L'Jarius Sneed , which was a factor, but there were ways (see: pre-snap motion) to create favorable matchups. Truth be told, Rodgers struggled to get the ball to every wide receiver. The passing attack was dink-and-dunk to the max. Rodgers had to rely on his running backs, Breece Hall and Braelon Allen , both of whom caught touchdowns.

Most surprising performance: Defensive end Will McDonald IV . He had three sacks, equaling his career total. The biggest came with 23 seconds left, a third-down play in the red zone. The former first-round pick came up huge on a day in which the Jets might have lost defensive end Jermaine Johnson to a season-ending Achilles injury -- which puts more pressure on the Jets to solve the Haason Reddick holdout . -- Rich Cimini

Next game: vs. Patriots (Thursday, 8:15 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

How much are QB Will Levis ' costly turnovers hurting the Titans? Levis single-handedly destroyed the Titans' momentum early in the game against the Jets. Tennessee was en route to consecutive scoring drives until Levis made a careless play that led to a turnover for the second week in a row. Levis tried to pitch the ball backward instead of taking a sack on third down, and instead, it was a fumble recovered by the Jets on their own 12-yard line. A score would have put the Titans up double digits. This comes a week after Tennessee wasn't able to recover from some devastating errors.

Describe the game in two words: Momentum swings. The momentum was swinging back and forth in this game. Levis' fumble and interception on consecutive drives gave the Jets life. The Titans fought back to tie it up, thanks to a miraculous touchdown catch by WR Calvin Ridley . In total, the Jets lost and regained the lead three times before coming up with the win.

Most surprising performance: Linebacker Harold Landry III . He had two sacks against the Jets and now has a total of three after two games. Landry isn't normally a fast starter, as shown by his 3.5 total sacks through the first two games of his five previous seasons. The veteran outside linebacker is off to the best start of his career. -- Turron Davenport

Next game: vs. Packers (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

Minnesota 23, San Francisco 17

the yacht week cap

What physical condition will the Vikings be in for Week 3? As exciting as Sunday's victory was, the Vikings were playing without most of their offensive playmakers by the end of the game. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson departed in the third quarter because of a right quad injury, while wideout Jordan Addison (ankle) was inactive and T.J. Hockenson (knee) was on the PUP list. Running back Aaron Jones , meanwhile, seemed slow in the fourth quarter after a trip to the blue tent. Unless there are some quick recoveries, the Vikings could be short-handed heading into next Sunday's matchup against Houston.

Describe the game in two words: Brian Flores. The Vikings' defensive coordinator spun up a scheme that pressured QB Brock Purdy on 13 of his dropbacks and sacked him six times, which are both the most taken by Purdy in his career. The Vikings also intercepted him once and recovered his lone fumble. There will be plenty of adulation around the organization for this 2-0 start, but Flores has found ways to affect both victories via pass coverage and forced turnovers.

Eye-popping advanced stat: Jefferson ran a total of 127.5 yards on a 97-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter, the most by a ball carrier on an offensive touchdown since 2016, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. Darnold sent the pass 50 yards in the air, but Jefferson had to stop after catching it, pivot and outrace Ji'Ayir Brown and George Odum to the far corner of the end zone for the score. -- Kevin Seifert

Next game: vs. Texans (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

Will the 49ers ever win in Minnesota again? No matter how good they have been, the Niners simply can't get it done in the Twin Cities. Sunday's loss was their eighth straight at Minnesota with their last win coming in 1992. This loss was more alarming for the fact that the Vikings were missing multiple key offensive players for most or all of the game and still rang up 407 total yards. Save for linebacker Fred Warner , the Niners have a lot of improvement to do defensively if they want to get back to the team they've been in recent years.

Biggest hole in the game plan: It's no secret that Justin Jefferson is the best receiver in the league, and with Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson unavailable for Minnesota, it stood to reason the Niners would take special care to force anyone else to beat them. Instead, Jefferson posted four catches for 133 yards, including a 97-yard touchdown, before leaving with an injury. San Francisco wants to stick to its defensive principles of rushing four and playing zone coverage, but if the pass rush isn't getting home consistently, there has to be a better plan for players of Jefferson's caliber.

Describe the game in two words: Error-filled. Playing on the road and at 10 a.m. PT for the first time this season, the Niners were seemingly sleepwalking for much of the game. It led to numerous costly mistakes, such as a blocked punt, a muffed punt and Purdy simply losing the ball for a fumble before he could throw it. In a place as difficult to win as Minnesota, that's not going to get it done. -- Nick Wagoner

Next game: at Rams (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET)

Tampa Bay 20, Detroit 16

the yacht week cap

Are we looking at a career-best season for QB Baker Mayfield ? Mayfield's five passing touchdowns (with a sixth on the ground) are the most ever for him over the first two games of a season. His ability to thrive under duress (he was sacked five times) and connect with wideout Chris Godwin -- who has amassed 200 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the first two games -- was the difference-maker against the Lions.

Biggest hole in the game plan: Without starting right tackle Luke Goedeke (concussion), Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson dominated Tampa Bay's offensive line, registering 4.5 sacks. The Bucs had all week to prepare for the 2022 No. 2 draft pick. While the first sack came on a stunt with DT Alim McNeill , Hutchinson just manhandled backup Justin Skule on the next two, and it wasn't until then that Skule got some help from another blocker. Even then, Hutchinson rattled off 1.5 more sacks.

Most surprising performance: The Bucs' battered secondary grabbed two takeaways off Lions QB Jared Goff without Antoine Winfield Jr . and Josh Hayes . Cornerback Zyon McCollum , who'd just cleared the concussion protocol, secured his first career interception in the first quarter, which set up a 55-yard field goal. Backup safety/nickelback Christian Izien picked off Goff in the fourth quarter and also made a touchdown-saving play against RB Jahmyr Gibbs . Safety Jordan Whitehead was a tackling machine and allowed only four catches on seven targets with a team-high three run stuffs. Both Izien and Whitehead tackled Gibbs on a critical fourth-and-8 at the Bucs' 6-yard line with 1:01 left. -- Jenna Laine

Next game: vs. Broncos (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

Should the Lions be concerned about QB Jared Goff? Sunday wasn't his greatest performance. While Goff finished with 307 yards passing, he threw two costly interceptions, including a pick on Detroit's first offensive play of the game. He has now thrown an interception in each of the first two games of a season for just the second time in his career. On a day the Lions' offense recorded 463 yards, Goff's performance was a key factor in the loss.

Most surprising performance: Hutchinson put together a sack hat trick in the opening quarter before ending with a career-high 4.5 sacks. It was the second most in a game by a Lions player since sacks became an official stat in 1982. Hutchinson was also the first player with three sacks in a quarter this NFL season and now has a sack in four consecutive games, tying the longest streak by a Lions player.

Early prediction for next week: The Lions scored just one touchdown on seven red zone trips against the Buccaneers, which is uncharacteristic for an offense with so many weapons. Detroit will need to clean up its mistakes entering next week's matchup in Arizona. -- Eric Woodyard

Next game: at Cardinals (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET)

Green Bay 16, Indianapolis 10

the yacht week cap

Can the Packers win again without QB Jordan Love ? Considering they're playing yet another offensively challenged AFC South team in the Titans next week, why not? While it sounded like Love was close to being able to play against the Colts, the Packers may want to buy another week of recovery now that they have at least one win without him. An 0-3 start would've been tough -- but not impossible -- to overcome and a loss might have forced the Packers to push Love to play. But at 1-1 early in a 17-game schedule, they can better afford to roll the dice with Malik Willis and another run-heavy game plan.

Describe the game in two words: Run over. The Packers barely even pretended to throw the ball in the first half. Willis threw just five times compared to 34 rushing attempts for the Packers before halftime. In just his second game with the Packers, Josh Jacobs carried 32 times for 151 yards. Willis was effective when he was asked to throw and finished 12-of-14 for 122 yards and a touchdown.

Eye-popping advanced stat: The Packers' 237 yards rushing in the first half was the third most by an NFL team in the first half of a game since 2000. It was 14 behind the most, which was by the Jaguars in 2006 also against the Colts. In all, the Packers rushed 53 times for 261 yards. -- Rob Demovsky

Next game: at Titans (Sunday , 1 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

What happened to the Colts' run defense? For the second week in a row, the Colts were physically dominated up front by an opponent's running game. The Packers posted historic first-half rushing totals with 237 yards. And while the Colts got the rushing attack under control in the second half, the Packers still managed to convert some critical third downs. Green Bay also beat the Colts with great use of misdirection, using Indianapolis' aggressiveness against it. The Colts have now allowed 405 rushing yards this season.

Biggest hole in the game plan: Quarterback Anthony Richardson was the Colts' leading rusher with six carries for 56 yards in Week 1. But the Colts were seemingly disinterested in using Richardson on designed runs Sunday, opting to keep him in the pocket even though the Packers' coverages were intent on not allowing him to throw downfield. Richardson had one designed run Sunday after several were called in Week 1.

Most surprising performance: Rookie receiver Adonai Mitchell had a promising training camp and has created much optimism, but he hurt the Colts on Sunday with a critical pair of plays. Mitchell committed a mental error with an illegal formation penalty in the second quarter, negating a huge third-down conversion. Later, Mitchell dropped a perfect pass from Richardson that would have converted a critical third down during the Colts' failed comeback. Mitchell saw fewer snaps the rest of the game, perhaps as a result. -- Stephen Holder

Next game: vs. Bears (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

New Orleans 44, Dallas 19

the yacht week cap

Can the Saints keep up this offensive pace? The Saints proved their new offense is for real after blowing out both the Panthers and Cowboys. But how long can they keep up this record-setting pace? The Saints' starting offense scored on its first 16 possessions of the season, gave running back Alvin Kamara his second career four-touchdown game and looked unstoppable. The Saints did not stall on a possession until a Derek Carr interception in the fourth quarter.

Describe the game in two words: Master performance. It's hard to take issue with anything Carr or the offense did against the Cowboys. They set the tone early and never let off the gas, using Rashid Shaheed 's speed and Kamara's versatility while deploying multiple players as blockers to allow Carr to play mostly error-free.

Eye-popping advanced stat: 91 points. The Saints made a big move this offseason by moving away from the Sean Payton offense that won a Super Bowl title in the 2009 season. That team put up 93 points in its first two games, the second most in NFL history. This season's Saints are tied for sixth in NFL history with 91 points through Week 2. -- Katherine Terrell

Next game: vs. Eagles (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

What should be made of the Cowboys' defense? Dominant against the Browns. Dominated by the Saints. Through three quarters, the Saints averaged 9.7 yards per play. The 35 points allowed in the first half tied for the most given up through the first two quarters in team history. Last year, the Cowboys allowed more than 35 points in a game just once. Carr was hardly touched and neither was Kamara, who had four touchdowns. Mike McCarthy was around for the last time an opponent had four touchdowns against Dallas with Packers running back Aaron Jones scoring four in a Green Bay win at AT&T Stadium.

Early prediction for next week: It's not going to get any easier. The Ravens have historically been one of the better rushing teams in the NFL, in part because quarterback Lamar Jackson is a game-changer. He can make defenses look bad on his own. Derrick Henry has yet to go off in his first two games with the Ravens, but the Cowboys were bludgeoned by the Saints in every way, giving up more than 5 yards per carry on their first six possessions.

Describe the game in two words: Over early. This wasn't as bad as the 48-32 wild-card loss to the Packers last season, but only because this wasn't a playoff loss. The Cowboys allowed touchdowns on the Saints' first six possessions. The offense moved the ball but failed on two red zone trips, settling for too many Brandon Aubrey field goals. -- Todd Archer

Next game: vs. Ravens (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET)

L.A. Chargers 26, Carolina 3

the yacht week cap

Should the Chargers stop splitting caries between Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins ? Dobbins had another record-setting Sunday, finishing with 17 carries for 131 yards and one touchdown. Dobbins is the first Chargers player to rush for 100 yards in each of his team's first two games of a season, and he somersaulted into the end zone for his lone score of the day. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said they would roll with the "hot hand" as the season progressed, but it's clear that the rushing offense is better with Dobbins. Edwards had 18 carries for 59 yards.

Most surprising performance: Quentin Johnston 's two touchdowns: Johnston had scored two touchdowns over the first 18 games of his career before he caught two in the first half on Sunday. Johnston's first score, a 29-yard catch over CB Jaycee Horn , was his most impressive play of the day. Johnston ran by Horn and adjusted as the ball was in the air to reel in the pass for the score.

Describe the game in two words: Defensive domination. The Chargers held Panthers quarterback Bryce Young to just 22 passing yards in the first half, the lowest first-half total of his career. The Chargers' defense has allowed just 13 points over the first two weeks of the season. -- Kris Rhim

Next game: at Steelers (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

When will coach Dave Canales sit quarterback Bryce Young? Carolina has way more problems than Young, but slow starts are killing the Panthers. Young is a factor. He was 8-of-10 for 22 yards and a pick in the first half Sunday. He was 6-of-12 for 50 yards with a pick in the first half last week. Andy Dalton might give Carolina a better chance. But when recently asked about changing, Canales said: "The best experience you can have is to be on the field, and just to live it.''

Describe the game in two words: Déjà vu. The 20-0 first-half deficit looked eerily similar to last week, when they fell behind 30-3 against New Orleans. The inability to stop the run against the Chargers (44 rushes for 219 yards) mirrored the inability to stop it against the Saints (180 yards). Young's ineffectiveness ... yes, a lot of bad similarities.

Early prediction for next week: Canales will take a chance by switching to Dalton either before Sunday's game at Las Vegas or during it. It was this time last season that Young sat because of an ankle injury, and the Panthers had their best offensive output. -- David Newton

Next game: at Raiders (Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET)

Buffalo 31, Miami 10

the yacht week cap

What does the future hold at linebacker? Terrel Bernard left the game in the first half with a pectoral injury, meaning both of the team's starting linebackers are injured, in addition to starting nickel cornerback Taron Johnson . Baylon Spector played the rest of the game for Bernard, while Dorian Williams is in for the injured Matt Milano . With Bernard set to miss time -- the team is deciding whether to place him on injured reserve -- a position that has dealt with injuries since the offseason will have to overcome even more, with coach Sean McDermott anticipating Spector taking over the middle linebacker role in Bernard's absence.

Eye-popping advanced stat: On quarterback Josh Allen 's throw to running back Ty Johnson that set up James Cook 's 1-yard touchdown run, Allen was running 14.87 mph at the time of his throw. In the past five seasons, Allen has completed 50 passes on 113 attempts when running at least 14 mph. That is the most such completions in the NFL over that span. (Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is next with 40.)

Most surprising performance: Cornerback Ja'Marcus Ingram . The former undrafted free agent took advantage of opportunities and came away with two interceptions, including a pick-six. Ingram came into the game without ever recording an interception. -- Alaina Getzenberg

Next game: vs. Jaguars (Monday, 7:30 p.m. ET)

the yacht week cap

What will the Dolphins do at quarterback moving forward? Tua Tagovailoa's latest concussion will likely keep him out of next week's game against the Seahawks, coach Mike McDaniel said. The Dolphins have the "utmost confidence" in third-year quarterback Skylar Thompson , who will in all likelihood start until Tagovailoa is able to return. McDaniel said Miami will add another quarterback to its roster, but don't expect a player like Ryan Tannehill or Jimmy Garoppolo , who would come in expecting to start.

Most surprising performance: The Dolphins' performance as a whole was surprising, but individually, Tyreek Hill recorded just three catches for 24 yards. Jaylen Waddle , Jonnu Smith and De'Von Achane were all more productive as Hill's struggles against the Bills continue. If Thompson is to start next week, Hill has to assert himself as one of the league's best players -- regardless of his team's quarterback situation.

Eye-popping advanced stat: According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Tagovailoa completed only two of his eight attempts of 10-plus air yards, resulting in 38 yards and two interceptions. It was the lowest completion percentage of his career in games where he's attempted at least eight such passes. Considering the Bills' unproven safeties, not being able to take advantage of that matchup was a huge miss for Miami's offense. -- Marcel Louis-Jacques

Set Sail in Style! Inside the Ultimate Travel Adventure Experience of 'Yacht Week'

Sept. 17 2024, Published 8:20 a.m. ET

Summer vacations options are vast these days, with new variations of trips and tours in different parts of the world popping up every year, providing countless holiday choices for traveller's seeking an overseas getaway, however in the world of ultimate luxury and adventure travel, few experiences rival the exhilaration of Yacht Week .

They say you never forget your first, which is very true of this experience, as we got an exclusive VIP experience onboard our first Yacht Week and the unforgettable ultimate travel adventure on the high seas it promised.

Options are available for all types of sailors, whether you have a group of up to 10 friends you'd like to charter your own yacht with, or if you're solo sailor or with a small group seeking other sailors to fill your yacht cabins.

A Row of 'Yacht Week' Boats Sit Docked Ready to Take off on Voyage.

A mid sea impromptu floatie party for Tunnel Raft Day on 'Yacht Week'.

An 'Under the sea' theme, Winter wonderland Christmas and a performing circus act crew were just some of the highlights of this weeks regatta, but they were no match for the 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' themed yacht, armed with costumed Oompa Loompas and Golden Ticket themed bathing suits ,that ended up claiming a much deserved Yacht Week regatta victory. Watching the absolute insanity of 40 plus yachts sailing through the Croatian seas, filled with sailors dressed in different themed outfits while busting out dance moves and battling it out to take victory, is a win for anyone lucky enough to bear witness to a Yacht Week Regatta.

The Yachts Set Sail For The 'Yacht Week' Regatta Event.

" I love that we've become the party yacht for the tunnel raft." says Megan, 24 ,from New York, who's catamaran yacht she set sail on with six girlfriends had become the unofficial party host yacht of the night " As long as nobody messes with our playlist, we are happy to keep this party going to sunrise" she says with a smile, clearly pleased to play host yacht to one of the most memorable Yacht Week events that serves as an ultimate group bonding experience.

An Incredible Birds Eye View Of The 'Tunnel Raft' Day on 'Yacht Week'.

After the Yacht Week experience sadly comes to an end for another week, with all the yachts safely docked back at shore and the sailors having to return to the reality of life on land once again, it's impossible to label the Yacht Week experience as just another vacation. Woman Who Filed Civil Suit Against Diddy’s Son Speaks Out About Rapper’s Arrest: ‘Justice’

Diddy King Combs

The lawyer of a woman who filed a civil suit against Sean “Diddy” Combs ‘ youngest son, Christian “King” Combs , has spoken out against the rapper’s arrest via a statement from her lawyer.

Grace O’Marcaigh  accused King, 26, of sexually assaulting her while she was working on a yacht in 2022 via a lawsuit filed in April.

After Diddy was taken into custody this week, O’Marcaigh’s lawyer, Rodney S. Diggs , described the arrest as the “first step” towards “justice” in a statement provided to Us Weekly on Wednesday, September 18.

“The long-awaited federal arrest of Sean Combs is the first step for our clients receiving justice,” Diggs said in the statement. “We leave the criminal aspect of this case in the hands of the people and justice system. As for the civil cases, we await our time for the facts to reveal themselves and seek the justice our clients deserve.”

He added: “We also anticipate more victims coming forward. We knew this was coming. The evidence is very clear, and it was only a matter of time. This is an important step towards justice for all of Mr. Combs’ victims including my clients. Justice will prevail.”

Us Weekly has reached out to a representative for Diddy for comment.

Diddy, 54, was arrested in New York on Monday, September 16. The following day, a 14-page indictment alleging that Diddy “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him” was made public. The rapper has since entered a not guilty plea for charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution.

A New York judge denied Diddy bail on Tuesday, September 17, and he will remain in custody pending trial. He lost an appeal to overturn the decision on Wednesday, September 18.

Diddy’s lawyer Marc Agnifilo  insisted that Diddy is innocent in an interview on CNN’s The Source With Kaitlan Collins .

“He’s innocent. I believe he’s innocent. I believe he’s innocent of the charges,” he said Tuesday. “He is going to go to trial. And I believe he’s going to win.”

A lawsuit filed by lawyers on April 4 in Los Angeles County Superior Court alleged that  Diddy’s son King sexually assaulted O’Marcaigh, 25, while she was working on a yacht. The papers alleged the working environment had been “sold as a wholesome family excursion” but turned into a “hedonistic environment.”

King was also accused of sexual harassment and infliction of emotional distress in the lawsuit. Diddy was sued in the same suit for premises liability for chartering the yacht and for aiding and abetting King in the alleged assault.

Days later, a lawyer for Diddy and King hit back at reports and slammed one of the lawyers representing O’Marcaigh.

In a statement to Us on April 8, lawyer Aaron Dyer cautioned the public to meet the claims with skepticism, pointing the finger at the accuser’s attorney Tyrone Blackburn  who filed the lawsuit alongside Diggs.

“We have not seen this woman’s claim but I’m sure we can expect the same kind of manufactured lies … just as we saw in Rodney Jones ’ lawsuit — which has yet to be served,” Dyer said in a statement to Us at the time.

“[Blackburn] was just slapped by a federal judge in New York earlier this week for his ‘pattern of behavior’ in ‘improperly [filing] cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations and pressure defendants to settle quickly,’” Dyer continued.

Dyer was referring to a court filing by Judge Denise Cote that suggested Blackburn had a history of filing lawsuits aimed at attracting media attention to pressure high-profile defendants into settling quickly.

Blackburn faced similar accusations in the past, including from lawyers representing Nicki Minaj , T.I. and Tameka “Tiny” Harris , who accused him of participating in a “sordid shakedown campaign” to extract settlements from the artists.

“Two days after he was referred to the disciplinary committee in the Southern District of New York, it’s interesting he chose to file a new suit in California,” Dyer’s statement concluded. “This is just another page from that same playbook, as we learned of this lawsuit the same way anyone hears about Mr. Blackburn’s filings: through the media.”

King broke his silence on the matter on March 29, days after he was detained and later released by law enforcement. He posted a message via Snapchat that read, “Stop with the 🧢,” using the slang term of “cap,” i.e. lying.

Unbelievable week spent island hopping Croatia with a group of friends! The staff made this such a memorable week. Amazing parties pre-planned, they really think of everything. Would recommend this to anyone. I will be returning next year!

Tommy is very knowledgeable and was so helpful throughout this whole process.

Georgia was so kind and worked diligently to solve my problem. I came in to the conversation very anxious and she helped immensely! This was a “Disney” level of customer service. We had a phone conversation and she took the time to get to know me before jumping into the issue. That level of personalisation made me feel like this company really cares.

Their customer service and authenticity are to be commended and The Yacht Week are lucky to have crew such as them. If you're looking for an unforgettable week exploring Croatia and meeting some of the world's best people - you have to book a Yacht Week! Perfect, perfect, perfect.

Claudia answered all my questions and helped me out! Thanks for helping me as a first time yachty!
