Cruising and snorkeling in the Caribbean, what better way to enjoy your day in Costa Maya? Your bilingual guide will meet you at the pier and accompany you to the catamaran waiting at Fisherman’s Pier. Along the way, your guide will brief you on the safety procedures and you’ll be snorkeling under the watchful eye of a PADI certified rescue diver guide. You’ll wear a proper life vest for your safety.

Once you have received the instructions, you’ll have easy access to the water and ready to discover Costa Maya’s underwater world. Jacks, snappers, colorful angel fish or queen triggerfish abound. After your snorkel, relax as your catamaran cruises back to the pier. You’ll have the option of returning to your ship or staying downtown. If staying in town, the return trip back to the ship is on your own. Tour includes all necessary equipment.

The Costa Maya Snorkeling and fishing excursion offers a great way to see the best of Mahahual and Costa Maya, both above and below the water surface.

The Private Snorkeling tour departs from our beautiful Beach Break Resort just a few minutes south of the busy cruise ship town of Mahahual.

Our tour takes you away from it all to one of the best snorkeling areas along the Costa Maya reef, where you will see abundant tropical fish and the best coral formations on the coast.

A quick 20-30 minute journey by boat will transport you to the snorkeling site, a pristine coral reef that boasts spectacular Elk Coral, schools of brightly colored Blue Tangs, and many species of tropical fish. Spotted Eagle Rays, stingrays, and sea turtles often frequent this site, so keep your eyes open!

Following your snorkeling adventure, you can have the choice to fish in the abundant waters of Costa Maya.

The Fishing can be either bottom Fishing or trolling. Bottom Fishing is fantastic for young children or beginners. Trolling is for bigger game fish and an excellent opportunity to catch the big one!

This private boating excursion returns to the departure point approximately 2.5 hours after departure. You can stay in the Town of Mahahual for exploration or vacation shopping.

You may also return to the Port by acquiring one of the many taxis servicing the area.

The Town of Mahahual has only been recently discovered. A short time ago, Mahahual was a sleepy fishing village far from civilization. Fishing, whether by snorkeling with a spear or line, Fishing was their livelihood!

The snorkeling excursion we have organized is conducted with native fishermen born and raised in Mahahual; their knowledge of the area is unmatched.

The vessels used in Mahahual are Mexican boats known as Pangas; even though rustic in looks, they navigate the local seas like no other vessel.

They manage short waves like a knife through butter and are splash-free for the most due to the shape of the vessel.

PLEASE NOTE: You will find cheap snorkeling trips offered in Costa Maya; these trips will take you to a nearby reef (5 minutes from the beach) on the mouth of the main entrance channel.

The water is rough, primarily with outward, swift, moving currents. The cheaper trips are only 45 minutes from beach to beach.

Our Company has organized our tour as a private Tour, and only for your family or group.

We visit reefs not accessible from shore nor near the Town where all other tours of this nature are conducted.

Our exploration is unfound in Costa Maya; please remember this is not your average snorkeling trip; it is a private adventure excursion!

This excursion is exclusive; we only offer two daily trips, and unfortunately, it is not widely available.
