An Indonesian Superyacht

Lamima combines the authenticity and charm of the Indonesian two-masted sailing ship, known as a phinisi, with international superyacht standards. Sail away to explore the most remote natural habitats on a sophisticated vessel of incomparable size with every conceivable amenity.

Accomodation

Lamima offers guests absolute comfort and space, whether making use of the large daybeds, dining under the stars or simply relaxing in the breeze from their own secluded spot. She can accommodate 14 guests in seven spacious and elegant cabins, all with luxurious ensuite bathrooms. Lamima’s interior design is warm and inviting with an understated, contemporary Asian influence. Custom lighting adds to the ambiance at different times of the day. Internet service is available in all cabins for those who choose to stay connected and HDTV is in every room.

Lamima’s crew are handpicked from top Indonesian hospitality and marine institutions. Enjoy Asian and European cuisine from the gourmet chefs who take pride in sourcing the freshest, quality ingredients from top Indonesian suppliers, local markets and fishermen.

The onboard PADI dive-centre is fully equipped, whether you are an experienced or first-time diver wishing to complete the PADI certification course. The experienced PADI guides know the best diving locations in Indonesia, which are renowned for their marine biodiversity. Pamper yourself with a leisurely massage or treatment from two onboard Indonesian masseuses or enjoy a soul enriching yoga session on deck.

Lamima was built in Bira, South Sulawesi by master boat builders to the highest standards with supervision by an experienced European yacht captain. After construction in Bira, Lamima underwent an 18-month build out in Bangkok. Her onboard systems are truly a sight to behold. Designed by esteemed yacht designer Marcelo Penna of Barcelona to ensure her intrinsic strength and stability, he gave her a sail wardrobe intended to catch the trade winds of the Indonesian archipelago.

Lamima is the first yacht built in Indonesia with a RINA classification conforming to international maritime regulations. This certificate guarantees that the vessel has been constructed to the highest standards of safety, stability, fire protection and pollution prevention. A certified surveyor inspected and approved all stages of construction and a yearly survey ensures that the vessel continues to meet high RINA standards.

Conceived in 2012 by esteemed yacht designer Marcelo Penna of Barcelona, Lamima encapsulates the elegance of traditional vessels while discreetly integrating enhancements to fortify her innate strength and stability. Encompassing a vast 400 sqm of open deck within a total of 900 sqm of functional space, Marcelo has equipped her with an impressive array of sails to harness the archipelago's every breeze, transforming her into a premier sailing vessel that exudes the opulence of a super-yacht.

The construction of Lamima was entrusted to the adept traditional boat builders of Ara, Sulawesi. They masterfully combined the authenticity and allure of Indonesia's historic two-masted trading ships (known as Phinisi) with the latest innovations in yacht design and technology, culminating in an extraordinary vessel boasting a rich heritage.

Lamima stands as the sole world-class charter yacht registered under the Indonesian flag, a prerequisite for navigating Indonesian waters with clients. This distinction further accentuates her exclusivity and underscores her mission to freely explore the azure waters of the archipelago she proudly calls home.

The seats and the dining table can convert to large sun pads to make full use of this shaded area.

There is also an alfresco dining area, a shaded lounge, an intimate nook at the bowsprit, and an upper deck furnished with sun loungers and enhanced by panoramic sea views all around. At the stern is a relaxation area where you can indulge in massages and beauty treatments in the expert hands of the boat’s qualified Pijat therapists. Each morning you can participate in a sunrise yoga session before breakfast.

Lamima’s Indonesian gourmet chefs take great pride in sourcing the freshest ingredients from high-quality Indonesian suppliers, local markets, and fishermen. The team creates topnotch Asian and European meals to delight your palate.

The 20 crew members aboard Lamima have years of experience of working on yachts, cruise ships and in the hotel, spa and hospitality industries, so you can be sure that your every need will be met with warmth and professionalism. During your Lamima Yacht Charter, you can get out and play in the water with the on-board snorkeling gear, waterskis, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards.

You can scuba dive − and even get your PADI certification − with the ship’s two PADI dive guides; a nitrox compressor is available and additional dive guides/masters can be arranged to accommodate specific needs. You can also enjoy excursions to deserted beaches, jungle-clad islands and local villages.

Perfect for extended families and groups of friends, Lamima cruises to awe-inspiring destinations in the Indonesian archipelago including Flores with its pink sand beaches and three-colored volcanic lakes, and the Komodo National Park − the only place on Earth where Komodo dragons reside in the wild.

About Lamima

Those seeking new horizons will be delighted to discover the wonder of Lamima, the epitome of luxury from topsail to keel. This vessel has been custom built with the specific intent of providing the ultimate in comfort, elegance and safety while maintaining the warm ambiance of traditional Indonesian hospitality.

The yacht was designed in 2012 by esteemed yacht designer Marcelo Penna of Barcelona who, while retaining the elegance of the traditional vessels on which Lamima’s lines are based, has unobtrusively incorporated refinements to enhance her intrinsic strength and stability. He has also given her an impressive sail wardrobe designed to catch every breeze of the archipelago, thus creating a first-class sailing vessel with all the opulence of a super-yacht.

The construction of Lamima was entrusted to the skillful traditional Boat Builders of Ara, Sulawesi. In crafting the vessel, they succeeded in combining the authenticity and charm of the Indonesian two-masted trading ship of yore (the phinisi ) with the latest concepts in yacht design and technology – thus producing an exceptional vessel with a distinguished pedigree.

Lamima is the only worldclass charter yacht to be registered under the Indonesian flag (a requisite when sailing with clients in Indonesian waters) thus providing further exclusivity and confirming her mandate to explore at liberty the sapphire waters of the archipelago she calls home.

Key Features

Sometimes we just want to chill. You’re on holiday, so just relax. Enjoy a massage, practice yoga, enjoy fine dining, or watch the stunning views along your journey. Last but not least, don’t forget about the good company!

Diving is very often on top of the list. And of course for those curious about the under water world, snorkeling or free diving is a fantastic way to get glimpse. Destinations, such as Indonesia or Maldives , are perfect for those eager to explore by the underwater world. Most yachts are equipped with professional diving equipment and enough space for a large group of divers. Besides having access to Dive Masters onboard, some yachts even have an accredited PADI Diving School onboard. In this case you would essentially be diving from the complete comfort of a modern atmospheric ship at bucket-list dive sites.

The uniqueness of snorkelling is that this family-friendly activity can get you close to reefs and experience similar things than when scuba diving . Watch reef sharks hunt, turtles munch and parrot fish swim by. Bright colours and plenty of action from above.

Whale Watching

Seeing whales breach the surface in a calm cold-water bay or even more spectacular being in the water with these majestic animals is hard to compare to other yacht charter activities. Ask us about the possibilities to experience whales up and close.

The sound of the water hitting the boat as the sails do its work propelling your yacht forward! The silence of the ocean, with the wind in your face.

The yachts listed here are either made to sail, or can sail without use of engine.

Observe these fascinating creatures, while gently drifting through the crystal-clear waters. During lunch, Lamima sets sail for Padar. A beautiful island with spectacular scenery and the iconic viewpoint of Komodo. In addition, it is a great place to see the pink sand that’s unique to this area. Later that day, another hiking opportunity awaits. Hike up to a breathtaking viewpoint to watch the sun set over Komodo National park.

South Rinca | Day 6

In the morning, you sail to South Rinca, one of the region’s best dive sites. Here, you will get to experience the best of what Komodo National Park has to offer. Swim with nudibranchs, turtles, sea snakes and frogfish among some of the most colorful coral gardens in Indonesia. After lunch, the crew will take you by tender to the shore where you will be able to see the world’s largest living lizard, the legendary Komodo dragon.
