About LexSea

The sun began its descent below the horizon, casting a warm, golden hue over the tranquil waters. On the deck of the M/Y LexSea, a Benetti Oasis 40m, guests gathered to witness the breathtaking sunset. The vessel's exterior design, a harmonious blend of modern lines and classic maritime charm, seemed to come alive as the last rays of daylight danced upon it. The sundeck, a serene oasis, invited everyone to unwind and enjoy the spectacle. Inside, the Bonetti / Kozerski interior design created an atmosphere of contemporary elegance. Natural light flooded the open-plan layout, revealing a lavish fusion of fine hardwoods, marble accents, and plush fabrics. In the main salon, guests relaxed in the comfort of the lounge area while savoring a gourmet meal in the adjacent formal dining space, all while gazing at the ever-changing seascape through the expansive windows. LexSea had been meticulously designed to accommodate up to 12 guests across its five opulent cabins. The master suite, a haven of tranquility on the main deck, featured a king-sized bed, a private study, and a sumptuous en-suite bathroom with marble finishes and a soothing rain shower. Two VIP staterooms and two twin cabins below deck offered their own unique sense of luxury, ensuring a restful night's sleep for every guest. The yacht's amenities were as impressive as they were diverse. A sea-level terrace, part of the beach club, provided easy access to the crystal-clear waters. The well-equipped gym beckoned guests to stay active, while the dedicated cinema room promised cozy movie nights. An array of water toys, including jet skis, paddleboards, and snorkeling gear, provided endless opportunities for fun and adventure. With its twin MAN engines, LexSea cruised gracefully at 14 knots, and when needed, could reach a maximum speed of 16 knots. It was a versatile vessel, equally suitable for leisurely journeys or swift transfers between exotic destinations. The professional crew of up to 9 members, including a capable captain, a talented chef, and attentive stewardesses, was dedicated to ensuring that every guest's desires and needs were met.

Germany Seizes World's Largest Yacht Owned by Russian Oligarch

This story was updated at 19:48 p.m. on Saturday to clarify that the vessel was seized, not confiscated. 

Germany has officially seized the world's largest superyacht owned by Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov, as part of sanctions against Moscow following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, police sources said Thursday.

The 156-meter (1,680-feet) long "Dilbar" has an estimated value of $600 million (555 million euros) according to Forbes magazine.

Since last October the boat has been docked for repairs in a Hamburg shipyard.

German customs had been eyeing the superyacht for several weeks, but could not formally seize it earlier due to a legal imbroglio over its ownership.

Eventually, the German Federal Judicial Police indicated that they had succeeded "after lengthy investigations, and in spite of concealment via offshore companies, in identifying the owner of the M/S Dilbar and it is Gulbakhor Ismailova, the sister of Alisher Usmanov."

"The luxury yacht is now under the sanctions regime and so could be confiscated in Hamburg," police added on Twitter.

The Russian billionaire and his sister are both targeted by European sanctions against Russian oligarchs as well as members of their families.

Usmanov, 68, was ranked sixth in the Sunday Times' list of the richest people in the UK in 2021.

He is one of the dozens of Russian oligarchs hit by Western sanctions since Moscow launched its invasion of Ukraine.

On Wednesday, English Premier League football club Everton suspended its sponsorship agreements with several companies in which Usmanov held shares.  

The confiscation of the "Dilbar" is just the latest in a string of seizures of Russian superyachts under the Western sanctions.
