Introducing the world's first retractable bow thruster for a pontoon boat. The patented PT230 Retractable Bow Thruster Thruster is a fully retractable, 2.5 horsepower thruster that is perfect for pontoon boats of any size. The unit mounts easily to the underside of the deck on any dual or triple tube boat. To deploy, simply press the helm-mounted actuator switch and within seconds the PT230 drops down into position, stopping automatically at the perfect depth to provide stress-free docking and maneuvering in any situation. Saltwater proven, whisper quiet and water-cooled, the PT230 Retractable Bow Thruster features a rugged 8” aluminum prop, marine-grade anodized aluminum housing and stainless steel hardware. Shipped as a complete kit with thruster, controller, wireless joystick, wireless remote key fob, wiring harness and mounting hardware, fuse with digital voltage indicator and battery switch, installing the PT230 takes only a few hours and can be done either in-water or on-land.
With their shallow draft, light weight, and significant windage, pontoon boats are notoriously difficult to handle around a dock or slipway. Add a strong crosswind or current and the task can become a real exercise in frustration, and may even compromise safety with your loved ones and friends.
Installed easily within a few hours and perfect for either double or triple tube pontoon boats, the powerful single prop motor sits at home under the deck in its rugged, marine grade anodized aluminum housing, ready for use when you need it.
To deploy, simply press the helm-mounted actuator switch and within seconds the PT230 drops down into position, stopping automatically at the perfect depth. From here precision guidance is right at your fingertips with the simple joystick control to quickly move your bow in any direction, regardless of wind or current. Not only does docking become much easier and safer, but you will experience stress-free handling and control in all close quarter situations.
The compact, low profile housing design keeps the PT230 out of harm’s way at all speeds, including wide open throttle. As well, it doesn’t interfere with beaching or trailering your boat.
As an added bonus, the PT230 includes Sideshift’s popular remote control key fob that puts precision control of the thruster in the palm of your hand. Your first mate can now have full control of the bow to secure the lines and avoid any miscommunication.
Introducing effortless joystick docking for any pontoon boat. Sideshift’s fully retractable PT230 bow thruster and outboard-mounted stern thruster provide easy maneuvering of any dual or triple tube pontoon boat. Now you can move your boat with confidence in any direction, and in any weather condition – sideways, diagonally, rotate in place – all with the smooth and silent power of Sideshift’s proven thruster technology.
Take the stress out of docking or close quarter maneuvers with the revolutionary PT230 and PT360 thruster systems, the perfect complement to any pontoon boat!

The modern jet boat was developed by New Zealand engineer Bill Hamilton in the 1950’s. His goal was to navigate waters that were too shallow for propellers. As the Hamilton Jet evolved, it became apparent that the waterjet was better than propellers for a wide range of vessel types.
A properly designed jet boat offers numerous advantages. There is no propeller to damage, as the jet impeller is protected inside the hull. Waterjets offer excellent maneuverability and superior reverse thrust in comparison to propellers. Waterjets are simple, reliable and offer a long service life. When properly sized for the weight of the boat, waterjets are the most capable and reliable propulsion system available for a Munson Boat. We exclusively use Hamilton Jet, as they are the world leader in waterjet propulsion and offer exceptional engineering analysis and customer service.
