Why Choose a Catamaran Charter?

If you’re looking for a San Diego yacht rental, you have options; we aren’t going to pretend to be the only boat in the bay. But, if you have ever experienced a sail on a cat, you’ll know why we are a bit biased.

Catamarans offer much more space than monohull boats making them the perfect choice for groups; on a catamaran there really is no bad seat.

Catamarans also offer more stability with less rocking back and forth than monohull boats, which can help with seasickness.

Thanks to their shallow draft, catamarans can access areas of the bay too shallow for most boats.

Triton is the largest catamaran in The Big Bay and one of the only options in San Diego if you are looking for a private catamaran charter that can hold up to 100 people.

Triton catamaran made her maiden voyage to San Diego in August 1st 2020. She is a brand new, GC70, 75 ft day charter catamaran that boasts capacity for 100 passengers and a large deck with outdoor seating.

How Much Does it Cost to Rent a Yacht in San Diego?

Pricing depends on the number of guests in your party. Typically the pricing structure works as follows:

$825/hr Weekdays and $975/hr on Weekends for up to 40 guests

$1,000/hr Weekdays and $1,150/hr on Weekends for up to 50 guests

$1250/hr Weekdays and $1,400/hr on Weekends for up to 60 guests

$1500/hr Weekdays and $1,650/hr on Weekends for up to 70 guests

$1750/hr Weekdays and $1,900/hr on Weekends for up to 80 guests

$2,000/hr Weekdays and $2,150/hr on Weekends for up to 90 guests

$2,250/hr Weekdays and $2,400/hr on Weekends for up to 100 guests

Where to Park and What to Bring

Parking Directions : Please click HERE  for the map of where to park. For free parking, please park in the rear of the parking lot as there is no meters. We do not have assigned parking, so please be sure to come at least 30 minutes early.

Walking Directions : Once parked, please click HERE for walking directions. You must arrive AT LEAST 30 MINUTES prior to your charter time. Please fill out your waivers and be prepared to present your waiver via QR code, and have your ID handy before you arrive.

General FAQ

Where are you located?

Triton is located at 2700 Shelter Island Dr. San Diego CA 92101 on the commercial dock next to Sail San Diego. Watch our Pre-Boarding video to help with parking!

What are your COVID Guidelines?

We are committed to the safety of our customers and our staff. We follow CDC recommendations on the state level as well as the county recommendations. Since our venue is outdoors, customers are not required to wear a mask. Triton is sanitized before, during, and after every charter with hand sanitizer available for guests.

What comes standard with each charter?

Triton includes a captain, crew, bartender, waterslide (for private charters), dance floor, seating for up to 100 guests, 2 restrooms, and modern decor! 

Can we film our experience?

 Drone Filming

Filming/bringing a drone for your charter is prohibited. Triton’s location is an ever-changing “no fly zone” with only very few locations able to actually take-off with a drone. We do offer drone filming services where our experienced pilots will communicate with our captain to get the shot that you need. Please inquire for cost.

DSLR/Production Filming

Bringing professional filming equipment on-board must be approved with our administrative team.  Triton Charters must be added as “additionally insured” on your insurance policy. Filming with intent to distribute is prohibited on Triton without prior approval. Cell phone videos/pictures are encouraged! 

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Private Charters – Triton Management LLC requires all cancellations be made 14 days prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund. Cancellation within 14 days of the charter will forfeit their deposit. Any cancellations made within 72 hours before the charter will forfeit the full amount of the contracted services and are non-refundable.

Ticketed Charters –

Ticketed Charters – Tickets are 100% refundable if canceled at least 24 hours prior to the charter’s departure time. Triton Charters may cancel ticketed charters anytime for any reason in which case, our customers will receive a full refund.

WEATHER POLICY

Triton Charters does not operate in unsafe weather conditions, but a light rain shower is not a deterrent. The captain will assess the weather and should the captain determine that the conditions are unsafe to run the charter, the charter may be rescheduled or it will be canceled.

If a trip is canceled by Triton Charters for any reason, you will have the option of receiving a voucher for a future trip or receiving a full refund.

Please note that failure to show for the reserved trip without cancellation will result in no refund

**Triton Charters reserves the right to change/alter our cancellation and refund policy as needed based on availability, or any circumstances deemed necessary. 

Is there a deposit?

The deposit for Private Charters is 10% of the total cost. This must be paid upon booking and the remaining amount is due 72 hours before your charter date.

How is my price determined?

Triton has unique pricing structure allows our customers to get the best deal possible for a private experience. The pricing is as follows:

1-40 Passengers $825/hr

41-50 Passengers – $1,000/hr

51-60 Passengers – $1,250/ hr

61-70 Passengers  – $1,500/hr

71-80 Passengers – $1,750/hr

81-90 Passengers – $2,000/hr

91-100 Passengers – $2,250/hr

Weekend Pricing

Each charter must pay a 10% deposit upon booking. 

What's the max capacity and seating?

The maximum occupancy of triton yacht rental San Diego is 100 passengers. With comfortable seating for everyone. Seating includes our 13-seat bar, leather bean bags, and bench seating. During COVID-19 our capacity may change.

What does the yacht rental include?

We’ve thought of everything, so you don’t have to. Included in your charter is our USCG certified captain and crew, 13-seat bar, bartender, space for 100 guests, 2 bathrooms, built-in waterslide, professional sound system, covered dance floor, 55″ flatscreen tv, lifejackets, all on the largest and newest catamaran charter in San Diego. Alcoholic beverages are also for sale at our 13-seat custom bar.

Where does the yacht charter go?

Each charter is unique. Guests will enjoy the ability to “point and go” allowing you to go wherever you’d like. Typically charters will do a tour around San Diego Bay where you will pass many of San Diego’s monuments and sights. You also have the ability to go for an ocean sail and enjoy the amazing views of Coronado and Point Loma.

What about food and drinks?

Each Private Charter includes a bartender that will serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We have a fully stocked bar with the same amenities as a normal venue including draft beer, craft cocktails, mixed drinks, wine, juices, sparkling water, and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests are prohibited from bringing any alcoholic beverages onboard. 

You are more than welcome to bring your own food on-board. If you decide to bring your own food, we suggest finger foods that are easily served and disposed of. If you plan on catering your event, you must have the venue list Triton Charters on the ‘additionally insured business’ on their insurance. For more information, please call us at 844-5-TRITON.

How much are the tickets?

Tickets are $55 for adults and $15 for children. Tickets do not include drinks, or food.

Where does the cruise take us?

San diego harbor cruises , take in the beauty of san diego bay on the brand new triton catamaran.

A visit to America’s finest city isn’t complete until you spend some time enjoying the San Diego Harbor. There is no better way to do that than aboard a luxury catamaran harbor cruise. Bring your family, your friends, your co-workers or come solo and experience the gorgeous San Diego Harbor views.

You’ll get beautiful shots of the downtown San Diego skyline and travel under the Coronado Bay Bridge in luxurious comfort. You’ll likely meet some of San Diego’s most beloved friends, the seals and sea lions who like to sunbathe on the docks. If you’re lucky, you might even catch sight of a dolphin or two swimming alongside Triton.

Notable Landmarks and Sites We’ll See 

As you soak in the sun, we’ll sail past some of San Diego’s most spectacular coastal sites introducing (or reacquainting) you with the:

• USS Midway Aircraft Carrier – The USS Midway was commissioned one week after the end of World War II, was the largest ship in the world until 1955, and was the longest-serving aircraft carrier in the 20th century. The Midway was so large it could carry 120 planes on its armored flight deck and was the first aircraft carrier unable to cruise the Panama Canal due to its sheer size. While you are visiting San Diego, be sure to check out the USS Midway Museum  to learn more about this iconic ship. 
• Star of India –   Star of India is the world’s oldest active sailing ship. She is an iron ship with a long and storied past that includes collisions, mutiny and cyclones. She worked as a cargo ship and then spent half a century bringing emigrants to New Zealand. You can tour the Star of India at the  Maritime Museum of San Diego. 
• North Island Military Base –   Dubbed the official birthplace of aviation, the North Island Military Base is an active military base home to two aircraft carriers and 23 fixed and rotary wing squadrons.
• Cabrillo National Museum – T he Cabrillo National Monument and museum mark the location where the first European set foot on the western US. There is a lot to take in at Cabrillo park including the Old Point Loma Lighthouse and the rocky intertidal zone. 
• Hotel del Coronado –   The Hotel Del  is a historic beachfront luxury hotel situated in the city of Coronado, just over the bridge from downtown San Diego. It opened in 1888 as the largest resort hotel in the world and today is the second-largest wooden structure in the US. If you are visiting San Diego, it is definitely worth spending a couple of hours at The Del — grab lunch or stroll the pristine beach.

What is the ticket schedule?

To see our live calendar, please visit our ticketed charter page. Our ticketed charter times change based upon the season. From March 17th – November 3rd, our ticketed cruise depart Wednesday-Sunday at 11am, 2:30pm, and 6pm. November 4th – March 9th our schedule is Wednesday-Sunday at 10am, 1pm, nd 4:30pm. Each charter is 2.5 hours and will take you on an epic adventure through San Diego Bay, down to Glorietta Bay and back! Triton may change/update/add or remove dates upon our descretion. 

How long is the cruise?

Each ticketed charter is 2.5 hours in duration.

Triton is equipped with a full bar including: mixed drinks, draft beer, specialty cocktails, soft drinks, juices and sparkling water. Passengers are strictly prohibited from bringing their own beverages. 

Prices are $8.50 for draft beer, $10.50 for mixed drinks, and $13.00 for specialty cocktails. You may bring your own food that is individually packed, ie: No cakes, or foods that require serving utensils.

What types of payment do you accept?

We take all majorly accepted credit/debit cards. We do not accept cash or checks. 

What is the deposit for Private Charters?

All private charters are required to pay a 10% deposit to secure their booking. If the charter is within one week of the reservation, the charter must be fully paid.

Private Charters – Triton Management LLC requires all cancellations to be made 14 days prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund. Cancellation within 14 days of the charter will forfeit their deposit. Any cancellations made within 72 hours before the charter will forfeit the full amount of the contracted services and are non-refundable.

Ticketed Charters – You must contact us more than 24 hours before your charter to reschedule or to cancel your ticket. If you cancel within 24 hours of your charter or are late/no-show,  you may reschedule without a fee. If you wish to get a refund and cancelled/no-showed within 24 hours of your charter, you will be charged a 20% cancellation fee. Triton Charters may cancel ticketed charters anytime for any reason in which our customers will receive a full refund.

Will I get seasick?

The chances that you will get seasick are slim to none ! Many are surprised to hear this; however, catamarans are known for their stability! The two hulls are 32 feet apart, giving the base of the boat added stability and designed to slice through waves, rather than bouncing over them like most sailboats. Therefore, your experience aboard will be smooth, stable, and comfortable! In fact, the Aolani is constantly thanked after the charter for having renewed our guests’ confidence in boating.

Finally, because the Aolani exclusively offers San Diego catamaran charters, in the event that you need us to turn around from going into the ocean, we will do so right away!

Is there a possibility to see whales during the day cruises?

Whale sightings are possible during certain times of the year, typically from December through March, as California Gray Whales, Humpbacks, and Blue Whales migrate along the coast. However, whale sightings are not guaranteed and depend on factors such as weather conditions and whale migration patterns.

What is the maximum capacity?

The Coast Guard gives our catamaran in San Diego a maximum capacity of 48 guests. We have a Captain and crew onboard every sail, with room for up to 48 more passengers.

The Aolani is conveniently docked on Harbor Island, just across from the airport. It’s only a couple of miles from downtown San Diego and about five miles from popular hotel destinations like Mission Bay and Hotel Circle in Mission Valley, ensuring easy accessibility for your corporate gathering.

How many guests are allowed on your yacht rental?

Malarky Charters is Coast Guard certified to have up to 12 guests on board. If you’re looking for a party boat rental for 13 or more guests, check out Triton Charters.

How big is malarky and what’s the interior like?

Malarky is 47ft in length with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large indoor lounge and a full kitchen.

where does the yacht charter go?

Your charter will begin in San Diego Bay, more specifically, in America’s Cup Harbor. Once boarded, our Captain will guide our yacht through San Diego Bay, passing all of it’s major monuments, and even under the Coronado Bridge. Want to go a specific route? Just ask your captain! 

How long should we rent the yacht for?

Malarky has a minimum of 2 hours required to rent the boat. That being said, to get the most of the yacht charter experience we recommend 3-4 hours. 

where are you located?

Malarky Charters address is   2700 Shelter Island Dr. San Diego, CA 92106 Our office is located at 2700 Shelter Island Dr. and our charter is located on our commercial dock just south of our office. If you are arriving for your charter, our vessel is located on our commercial dock behind Ketch Kitchen and Taps in Shelter Island. 

what is your cancelation policy?

All cancellations are to be made 14 days prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund. Cancellation made within 14 days of the charter will forfeit their deposit. Any cancellations made within 72 hours before the charter will forfeit the full amount of the contracted services and are non-refundable.

Where do we go on the yacht charter?

Unlike other yacht rentals, Malarky Charters does not give you a “cookie cutter” experience. Our captain and crew will recommend a route, but ultimately you can go wherever you want!

What will we see during the charter?

San Diego Bay has some of the most amazing monuments to see from the water! The stunning Coronado Bridge connects San Diego to Coronado Island and offers breathtaking views of the bay. You can also marvel at the USS Midway Museum, a historic naval aircraft carrier museum located at Navy Pier, showcasing a collection of aircraft and exhibits. Another highlight is the Star of India, the world’s oldest active sailing ship, docked at the Maritime Museum of San Diego. As you cruise along, you’ll pass by Seaport Village, a waterfront shopping and dining complex with picturesque views and unique shops. At the tip of Point Loma, the Cabrillo National Monument commemorates the landing of Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo and offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and San Diego Bay. The Embarcadero Marina Park provides scenic open spaces, walking paths, and views of the bay and city skyline. You’ll also sail by Shelter Island, a long strip of land offering marinas, parks, and a distinctively nautical ambiance, and Harbor Island, known for its resorts, marinas, and dining options, providing excellent views of the city and the bay. These landmarks make a yacht rental in San Diego Bay a memorable experience with a blend of natural beauty and historical significance.

What do we need to bring?

Malarky Charters allows you to bring your own food and drinks (this includes alcohol). Be sure to bring food that is easily accessible and easy to clean up! Please do not bring any red wine aboard, or glass cups. All liquids contained in glass will be put into plastic cups. Feel free to bring towels, sunscreen and a big smile!

Christened in 1934

The Cloudia is a beautifully restored, rare example of a classic Norwegian double ended ketch. Inspired by the original designs of famed naval architect Colin Archer (1832-1921), from Larvik, Norway, the Cloudia is a Listerskøyte. The top-sail ketch is notable for durability and safety. Archer’s shipyard designed and constructed the famed  Fram,  which participated in a number of expeditions to the North Pole and later supported Roald Amundsen’s historic first expedition to the South Pole.

Archer’s designs became popular for commercial use and in the pleasure sailing market during the 20th Century, and remain so to this day.

The Cloudia is rigged as a topsail ketch in the British or American style, which means there are 2 two-piece masts which allow the Cloudia to carry more sail than a traditional Norwegian rig with shorter single masts. The Cloudia’s main mast is 85 feet high including the top-jack.

Many different woods were used to craft the ship, including Norwegian white oak, sapele hardwood, Douglas fir, Alaskan yellow cedar, and Ipe Brazilian hardwood. 

The pilot house is fully equipped with modern maritime electronics, including state of the art radar and navigation systems.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

I’m Justin (left), and I am the vibe setter. Sonny (right) is my cofounder and is a local pirate. Since 2017 we’ve had thousands of people rent a boat with us, and love their experience.

Chill Charters started with a dream that we could say goodbye to our jobs and pursue a career and life in the beauty of the outdoors. Over the past six years, we’ve run over 1,000 private rentals, purchased six boats (and one yacht!), and formed an awesome crew of great humans that captain each boat.

Champagne Yacht Charters Starting As Low As $3,800.

Weekday charters starting at $3,800 for 3 hours | Monday – Thursday

Weekend charters starting at $4,500 for 4 hours | Friday – Sunday

Deposit : $1,000 – Due immediately and non-refundable. Remaining balance : Due 7 days prior to the event.

*Staff gratuity not included. Prices do not include: Alcohol, food or staff gratuity.  Suggested gratuity is 15- 25% this can be based on group size and the level of service you wish to receive. We go above and beyond to ensure you have the most memorable experience ever

Excludes  holidays, Peak summer weekends and special events.  Additional time may be requested at $1000/hr.

WHAT TO EXPECT: 

Champagne Yacht   departs and returns from Point Loma Sport Fishing   1403 Scott St 92106 . We are docked directly behind Point Loma Sport fishing and Mitch’s Sea Food  restaurant.  (Per request and subject to availability, groups may board at the Marriott/Hyatt marina in down town San Diego.  $350 additional fee. * Per request,  the host may pre board up to 30 minutes prior  to set up and decorate the boat as needed.

Charters are structured in 4 hour  increments, typically  12-4 pm  or   5-9pm . Per request, variable start times may be available based on Champagne’s schedule that day.   Additional time may be extended at   $1000 per hour depending on the schedule that day.  We are now offering  10Pm night cruises on select Weekends only.

Maximum capacity is 49 guests . The yacht may not exceed 49 guests on board.

Where We Cruise : The day consists of a cruise around San Diego harbor.  This includes; Downtown, the Super Yacht dock, Past the USS Midway, under the famous Coronado bridge, by the Hotel Del than to anchor near the Coronado Golf Course in Glorietta Bay, Coronado. We cruise initially 1-1.5 hours  prior to anchoring in Glorietta bay. This is the most scenic Spot in San Diego with the back drop of the Coronado bridge and the Downtown skyline. Later we cruise the harbor again  prior to returning to the dock.     (Actual Cruising time May vary based on wind and bay conditions as well as guests preferences. It’s our experience most guests prefer to spend adequate time at the anchorage site due to the lack of wind and incredible views. Glorietta bay is very calm and shielded from the wind.

Where We Anchor:  Glorietta Bay – Guests are free to swim, play on the floaties, drink, dance, and lounge on the boat while mingling and enjoying the day.

What is Provided : Ice, cups, X Large Yetti coolers, drinking waters, an assortment of soft drinks including mixers,  paper goods, serving plates and all utensils. Limes, salt, straws, shot glasses as well as other bar items are  provided. This includes:  gourmet platters and Bowls  to neatly display the food.  We also provide towels for swimming, 2 giant Lilly Pads and life jackets. A Pro audio sound system with aux cable for iPhone connection/cabling/adapters. A DJ may also be provided for an additional fee.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES

You are able to supply your own food and beverage items including alcoholic beverages for no additional cost . Per your request we can assist in catering options  ranging from 5 star catering, Charcutrie boards, deli platters, and on board private chefs. https://champagneyachtsd.com/catering/

We do have plenty of c oolers and storage space so please leave the ice buckets and coolers at home . 😊

We had the best time celebrating my husband's 30th birthday on Alana! They made the planning process so easy and everything went great the day of. We had a group of 16 and everyone loved the experience. We did a 5:30-7:30 time slot and brought pizzas on the boat too. It was definitely the highlight of our trip to San Diego!

Book a sunset tour!!! Literally did not want to leave this was the best night ever. Such fun vibes for a chill sunset or if you want to go crazy and have a large group. The drinks were immaculate and yummy. The bartender and crew were super friendly and enjoyable and I mean just look at it. I think the boat speaks for itself. Would absolutely go again.

My friend rented the boat for his 40th birthday. It was a great experience, the boat is comfortable with plenty of seating . They allowed us to bring on pizza and cake to eat. They made great drinks. If you are looking for an option for a party or day out on the water then I would highly recommend Alana.

We had the best day out on the bay with Alana! We booked a 4 hour charter for my dad's 70th birthday and had about 20 family and friends on board. It was such a wonderful experience that our family will cherish as a special memory. Carly was great to work with - communication was friendly and clear. The crew on board was so awesome - friendly, patient, just making sure we had a great time. We were allowed to bring food and cupcakes on board and ordered drinks from the bar, which was great! Cannot recommend enough. very reasonably priced too for what you get!

From the big bay boom to star spangled extravaganza and a host of firework shows and parades, here are dozens of ways to celebrate the fourth of july in san diego county.

Camp Pendleton

4th of July beach celebration: Fireworks at 9 p.m. July 4 at the Marine Corps base’s Del Mar Beach for authorized military and their families. Also, there will be a family fun zone from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and live DJ entertainment from 4 to 7 p.m. Concessions and vendors will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Military ID card required. Legoland’s “Red, White and BOOM!”: Throughout the day on July 4, kids of all ages can participate in themed entertainment. lawn games, building activities and DJ dance parties at Legoland California, 1 Legoland Drive. The evening fireworks show at 8:45 p.m. combines music with fireworks; included with cost of park admission. The fireworks display will explode into 3D Lego bricks with special viewing glasses. Chula Vista

Fireworks and celebration: Hosted by the city of Chula Vista and Seven Mile Casino at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center, 2800 Olympic Parkway, gates open at 7 p.m. July 4. Fireworks shoot off at 9 p.m. with a custom bilingual soundtrack on Amor 102.9. Bring a blanket or chair. Food trucks will be there. Parking is free at the center and the adjacent New Hope Community Church, 2720 Olympic Parkway. Another recommended viewing location is at Mountain Hawk Park, 1475 Lake Crest Drive. Fourth of July concerts: Public Kids Concert is from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. with Katleen Dugas performing children’s songs at Spreckels Park, 601 Orange Ave.; Coronado Concert Band will perform a Patriotic Concert from 4 to 5 p.m. at Spreckels Park; a public concert featuring The Mighty Untouchables is from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m. at Spreckels Park. Fourth Of July BBQ: Independence Day celebration at Loews Coronado Bay Resort. Chef-curated barbecue buffet is from 4 to 7 p.m. at the resort’s Bay Terrace. The festivities include live “yacht rock” music by Band Overboard and Big Bay Boom fireworks in the distance. Barbecue tickets are $90 per adult, $45 per child. Fourth of July celebration at San Diego County Fair: Patriotic celebration all day on July 4 topped off with fireworks at 9 p.m., which can be viewed throughout the Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd. On-site parking is $15, if purchased in advance online; $20 at gate. Independence Day concert and fireworks: 4 to 10 p.m. July 4 at Grape Day Park, 321 Broadway, hosted by the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. Live music on the Great Green in the park features Daring Greatly, Ian Moore and the Navy Band Southwest’s 32nd Street Brass Band. The event culminates in the fireworks display at 9 p.m., which can be seen from central Escondido. There will be food trucks, an artisan market and games along with craft beer. Pancake breakfast and celebration: Rotary Club of Fallbrook’s pancake breakfast is from 8 to 11 a.m. July 4 at the Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane. Tickets are $12; $5 for children ages 4-12; free, ages 3 and younger. Proceeds benefit community programs. A dog show is from 11 a.m. to noon and a Fourth of July celebration is from noon to 3 p.m. with live music, entertainment, including ballet folklorico, a display of fire and police vehicles, and food vendors. Imperial Beach

Fireworks and live music:  The fireworks show will start at 9 p.m. off the Imperial Beach Pier. Live music  is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. featuring the Marine Band San Diego. Seacoast Drive will be closed from Imperial Beach Boulevard to Palm Avenue starting at 5 p.m. for the community event. Parking will be provided at the South Bay Union School District, 601 Elm Ave., Mar Vista High School, 505 Elm Ave., and IB Charter Elementary, 650 Imperial Beach Blvd. ADA parking lot on Seacoast and Palm Avenue. There will be a shuttle provided from parking lots to the beach. Visit imperialbeachca.gov .

Parade: Noon July 4 on Main Street. The theme is “Soar Like an Eagle,” recognizing the Julian Union High School District as the grand marshal. Attendees can join in carrying a huge American flag down Main Street before the start of the parade. Pre-parade activities start at 9:30 a.m. including a western re-enactment, musical performances and pie-eating contests. The flyover by vintage aircraft will be at noon to kick off the parade. After the parade, head over to the American Legion for a deep-pit barbecue, live music and dancing. Visit the Julian Town Hall for the Julian Woman’s Club Quilt Show; shops will be open. Visitors should come early to find parking near Main Street, which will be closed after 9 a.m. Visit julianparade.com .

Drone show: Independence Day performance, hosted by La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club and LJ STEAM Foundation, featuring 200 drones soaring 350 feet above the shoreline with patriotic imagery will launch at 9 p.m. July 4 with the main viewing of the show at the south end of Kellogg Park, 8277 Camino Del Oro, La Jolla Shores Hotel and La Jolla Cove. Fireworks show: The fireworks show on July 3 starts at 9 p.m. over Wangenheim Middle School, 9230 Gold Coast Drive. A community picnic starts at 4 p.m. at Hourglass Field Community Park, leading up to the fireworks. Visit miramesafireworks.org .

Fourth of July Carnival: The National City Lions Club is hosting its annual Fourth of July Carnival from July 3-7 at Kimball Park, 12th and D streets, with fireworks at the park at 9 p.m. July 6. The carnival, featuring food, rides and games, is open from 5 to 11 p.m. July 3, 1 to 11 p.m. July 4, 5 to 11 p.m. July 5 and 1 to 11 p.m. July 6-7. Visit nationalcityca.gov .

Fireworks celebrate city’s 136th birthday: 9 p.m. July 3 at SoCal Soccer Complex at El Corazon, 3300 El Corazon Drive. Yankee Doodle Dinghy Parade: Boat parade starts at 1 p.m. July 4 in the Oceanside Harbor at the Oceanside Yacht Club and continues on to the south end of the harbor. Decorate a patriotic dinghy 12 feet and under and enter the parade. No entry fee; trophies will be awarded. Register at skippers meeting at 10 a.m. July 4 at the yacht club, 1950 Harbor Drive North. Oceanside beach and pier:  Additional vendors will be open selling food and beverages and renting water sports equipment in Pier Plaza and in the parking lot south of the Junior Seau Oceanside Pier Amphitheatre. Independence Parade:  The 28th annual parade starts at 10 a.m. June 29 at the intersection of North Coast Highway and Wisconsin Avenue and will head north on Coast Highway to Civic Center Drive. More than 100 parade entries are expected to march, roll, walk and drive down historic Highway 101. Fireworks:  Two Independence Day fireworks displays will run simultaneously starting at 9 p.m. July 4 from Poway High School, 15500 Espola Road, in the school’s football field and the Sportsplex in the Poway Business Park, 12349 McIvers Court. The Poway Sportsplex will not be open for fireworks viewing, but there is street parking throughout the South Poway Business Park and fireworks can be seen throughout the valley. Gates open at the Poway High School football field at 6 p.m., with games, activities and a DJ. Entry costs $6 per person at the gate; free for children 11 and younger. Lake Poway is open to the public on July 4 and will stay open for the fireworks, but viewing is limited because the ballfield is temporarily closed. “Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration”:  The annual event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 4 at Old Poway Park, 14134 Midland Road, with patriotic entertainment, old-fashioned games, children’s crafts and model train displays. Treats and train rides will be sold. VFW Post 7907 and the Poway Veterans Park Committee host a ceremony honoring service members at Veterans Park (adjacent to Old Poway Park) beginning at 11 a.m. Free shuttles available starting at 9:30 a.m. from Poway Adult School and Poway City Hall. Fireworks:  Spirit of the Fourth Fireworks display starts at 9 p.m. July 4 at Rancho Bernardo High School/Bernardo Heights Middle School athletic fields, 13010 Paseo Lucido. Independence Day Ceremony: The Rancho Bernardo Veterans Memorial Association will host its annual Independence Day Ceremony from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 4 at the Rancho Bernardo Veterans Memorial, Webb Park, 11666 Avena Place. The keynote speaker is San Diego City Councilmember Marni von Wilpert. Boy Scouts Troop 685, members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and members of the Brigadier General J.P. Rancho Santa Fe

Independence Day Parade: Starts at 1 p.m. July 4 and runs along Paseo Delicias and other downtown streets featuring vintage cars, horses, firetrucks, parade princesses and decorated floats. A barbecue lunch starts at 11 a.m. on the Village Green with hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, chicken sandwiches and ice cream for sale by The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe to benefit the Rancho Santa Fe Community Center. Parade participants should line up at 12:15 p.m. in the R. Roger Rowe School parking lot, 5927 La Granada.

Big Bay Boom: The free fireworks show will be displayed simultaneously from four barges on San Diego Bay at 9 p.m. July 4. Barge locations will be off the shorelines of Shelter Island, Harbor Island, North Embarcadero and South Embarcadero. Bring lawn chairs or get in a boat to watch. The 20-minute fireworks will be telecast live on Fox 5 San Diego and affiliates in Los Angeles and on Fox 40 in Sacramento, starting at 8 p.m. A musical simulcast will be broadcast live on 100.7 BIG FM radio, starting at 9 p.m. The Metropolitan Transit System will increase train, trolley and bus services, and it will offer “Friends Ride Free,” where a friend may ride free with a fare-paying customer on MTS routes on July 4. Maritime Museum fireworks viewing: There will be July 4 fireworks viewing on the Maritime Museum of San Diego’s Berkeley, moored by the North Embarcadero. The Maritime Museum is open for visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 4 and reopens at 7 p.m. for the July 4 barbecue dinner on the upper McKinney deck of the Victorian-era steam ferry boat Berkeley. Guests can watch fireworks from the Berkeley or barge behind the Berkeley. All other vessels in the museum fleet will be closed for this event. Daytime options also include 45-minute bay cruises aboard Pilot, which are $10 extra with purchase of general admission at 11 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. The 75-minute Naval History Bay tours aboard the PCF 816 Swift boat are an extra $15 with purchase of general admission at 12:45 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. Visit sdmaritime.org .

SeaWorld fireworks: SeaWorld San Diego puts on an 18-minute fireworks to salute the country’s service members starting at 9 p.m. July 4. The park offers entertainment ranging from the “So Much More to Sea” 60th Anniversary Parade to light displays, shows and a summer concert series. The Enchanted Wonders Fireworks spectacular is nightly 10 minutes before the park closes through Aug. 11 with fireworks in sync with music and video highlighting the past 60 years of SeaWorld. Fireworks on Mission Bay: Takes place at Mission Bay around 9 p.m. July 3, in partnership with SeaWorld. Radio station partner 101.5 KGB will provide a custom soundtrack. Public viewing areas include Sunset Point Park, Santa Clara Point to Fanuel Street Park, and along Rivera Drive and the shoreline areas with a view of Sail Bay. Old Town Fourth of July: Festivities are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 4, including a patriotic flag-raising ceremony, live music, games, wheelbarrow and sack races, crafts such as morse code bracelets, and demonstrations of blacksmithing and weaving at Old Town State Historic Park as part of an “old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration” like what early San Diego residents did in the 1800s. Fireworks and music fest: San Diego Lake Murray Music Fest and Fireworks is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 4 at Lake Murray Community Park, 7001 Murray Park Drive, in San Carlos, and the fireworks can be seen from La Mesa to Del Cerro and beyond. Belmont Park summer fun: The historic beachfront amusement park, which turns 99 on July 4, will be open with old-fashioned summer fun and newer activities from classic roller coasters like the Giant Dipper to merry-go-rounds, bumper cars and arcade games to laser tag and a zip line. Red, White & Boom: Entertainment starts at 6 p.m. and fireworks go off at 9 p.m. July 4 at Bradley Park, 1587 Linda Vista Drive. Fourth of July at Lake San Marcos: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 4. A patriotic kickoff program at 10 a.m. with the Freedom Choir leading the Americana singalong. Veterans will be recognized and there will be guest speakers. A patriotic dog contest will be at 11 a.m., and a carnival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with children’s games, a bounce house, food and drinks. Entry fee after 11 a.m. is $5, free for ages 10 and younger. The annual July 4 Yacht Club Boat Parade will be at 4 p.m. on the lake. A patriotic ceremony is at 6 p.m., and Whiskey Ridge country music is at 6:30 p.m. The event caps off with fireworks at 9 p.m. Bring chairs, blankets and canopies. Scripps Ranch

Parade: The Scripps Ranch Civic Association Fourth of July Parade, themed “Scripps Ranch – America’s Patriotic Cul de Sac,” begins at 10 a.m. July 4 at Red Cedar Drive and Ironwood Road and ends at Scripps Ranch Boulevard and Aviary Drive by Hoyt Park. After-parade festivities are at 11 a.m. at Hoyt Park. Free admission; donations appreciated. Visit scrippsranch.org/join .

Scripps Ranch Old Pro 4th of July Run and Ride: The event includes a 10K race and 2-mile Fun Run, along with 12-mile and 35-mile bike rides, as well as a 22.5-mile Gravel Ride. Visit runride.org .

University City

5K and 1-mile Fun Run-UC Celebration: Walk-up sign-ups for 5K and 1-mile Fun Run start at 6:30 a.m. July 4 with runs beginning at 7:45 a.m. and 8 a.m. at Standley Recreation Center, 3585 Governor Drive. Highlights include a pancake breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., a bike and pet parade, Troop 11 color guard and the national anthem, live music, a fun zone for kids and food. Independence Day celebration with fireworks: Fireworks will go off at 9 p.m. July 4 at Brengle Terrace Park, 1200 Vale Terrace Drive. The park will open at 7 a.m. There will be live music by the Cassie B Project at 7:35 p.m. and after the fireworks. Admission to the Moonlight Amphitheatre is $5 per person at the entrance starting at 5 p.m. No advance online ticket sales. The Moonlight’s Bread and Cheese eatery will sell a variety of food, refreshments, beer and wine. Alcohol cannot be brought into the park. Free parking. Visit cityofvista.com/july4 .
