The head-turning, gold-hull, 162-foot Palmer Johnson Khalilah has joined the Fraser charter fleet.

There are still dates available for late-season charters in France and Italy, with a crew of nine on board. Accommodations are for as many as 11 guests in five staterooms.

Khalilah is one of the most original-looking yachts on the charter market. In addition to its gold exterior, the yacht has what Fraser calls a “cool, funky, fun interior.”

Recent upgrades to the 2015 build include the addition of zero-speed stabilizers and a newly enlarged swim platform.

The lowest weekly base rate to book Khalilah is about $252,750.

What is Khalilah’s top speed? It’s about 25 knots, which also turns heads for a yacht this size.

The world's first all-carbon yacht is for sale , with an asking price of €28.5 million (or roughly $31 million).

The vessel, known as Khalilah , was constructed using all-carbon composites, designed to offer optimal fuel consumption and a top speed of 26 knots. The superyacht also has a distinctive gold exterior, made with custom Cordova Gold , and was a showstopper at this year's Monaco Yacht Show . 

Featuring five guest rooms — including two master suites — Khalilah can fit 11 guests on board, in addition to nine crew members.

The yacht is currently listed for sale or charter through both SuperYachtsMonaco and G-Yachts .

Here's a closer look at Khalilah.

Khalilah is the world's first all-carbon yacht. Its carbon composite construction was designed to give optimal fuel consumption, even when cruising at its max speed of 26 knots. In addition, it has an exterior finish of custom Cordova gold.

The yacht also doesn't need speed stabilizers because of its 10.8 meter beam.

The interiors, designed by the team at Palmer Johnson, are said to mix "contemporary chic" with "Asian influence." And, with five bedrooms — including two master suites — the yacht can house 11 people, in addition to a nine-person crew.

The master bedrooms are both finished with bleached birch wood and feature floor-to-ceiling windows, offering panoramic views of the ocean.

Each guest bedroom also includes its own bathroom.

The yacht comes with plenty of toys, including a custom 7-meter matching gold tender, a jetpack, a hoverboard, jet skis, kayaks, paddle board, inflatables, and a wake board. There is also a sunken pool, and a three-person sun pad.

There are two al fresco dining areas, one of which has BBQ and buffet stations.

The yacht's interior offers floor-to-ceiling picture windows, a contemporary LED light installation, and an open-plan galley located on the main deck.

There is also a full entertainment system and a sky lounge with panoramic views of the ocean.

Khalilah is currently listed for sale through both SuperYachtsMonaco and G-Yachts with an asking price of €28.5 million (or roughly $31 million).

KHALILAH Yacht – The Incredible $30,000,000 Superyacht

Measuring a length of 48 meters KHALILAH yacht was built by the US shipyard Palmer Johnson in 2015 and is currently available for charter.

She has space for eleven guests in five cabins and is easily recognizable due to her golden finish.

All design stages, including the interior of the KHALILAH yacht, were completed by Palmer Johnson Yachts.

There are five cabins on board that can accommodate up to eleven guests. The KHALILAH yacht has twin master suites, one VIP cabin, and one double cabin, as well as a twin and an additional Pullman berth.

Nine crew members find space in cabins below deck. The KHALILAH yacht is often described as a family-friendly yacht with a lot of features that are adjusted to children including her unusual interior design. 

In addition to her wide selection of water toys, families will appreciate the cabin layout and the onboard jacuzzi.

The beach club is perfect for a quick swim before a delicious dinner prepared by the five-star chef on board KHALILAH.

Several cabins have intricate wood carvings decorating the walls, and there are traditional decorations and murals to be found onboard the luxury yacht.

Most notably, one of the bathrooms is entirely decorated with a colorful mosaic depicting cartoon-like sea animals, which is sure to be popular among children spending time aboard the KHALILAH yacht.

Other bathrooms are more minimalistic with white marble finishes and discreet mosaics of trees and other natural scenes.

The KHALILA yacht is 48 meters (157.6 ft) long with an 11-meter (36.1 ft) beam and a 2.1-meter (6.11 ft) draft.

She is considered the world’s first all-carbon superyacht and is especially environmentally friendly with reduced emissions and exceptional fuel efficiency.

Both her hull and superstructure are built out of carbon, making her a lightweight vessel at only 485 tons.

She is powered by twin MTU engines which allow her to reach impressive speeds of up to 30 knots.

She comfortably cruises at 28 knots, making her one of the faster yachts in her size category.

Due to her highly efficient engines, she still has a range of 1,500 nautical miles and is the perfect yacht for visiting destinations in shallow waters due to her low draft.

The KHALILAH yacht is one of the most striking superyachts in the world and is guaranteed to draw attention wherever she goes with her pearlescent gold finish.

Born in the USA 7 Palmer Johnson superyachts for sale

Under its original name, 'Johnson and Gmack', Palmer Johnson was founded in Sturgeon Bay in 1918 and became known for repairing and refitting boats for the Great Lakes commercial fishing fleet. Ten years later, the founder's son, Palmer Johnson, built their first wooden yacht and demand for more began to grow.

During the Second World War, under the name of Sturgeon Bay Boat Works, Palmer Johnson created over forty 45-foot air-sea rescue boats and four 65-foot 'T' class freighters. In 1956 the company was officially named 'Palmer Johnson Boats' and sold to a group of local Sturgeon Bay businessmen.

After being sold to Texas Instruments founder Pat Haggerty in 1961, a significant decision was made to build in welded aluminium. Such a decision set the future path for what is now a widely recognised brand.

Although the yard had a reputation for building fine sailing and motor yachts, a decision was made in 1995 to focus solely on power superyachts and the yard's last sailing yacht, the 33.53m Keewaydin, was delivered in 1996.

Palmer Johnson was acquired by the current owner in 2004. His unique vision and inspiration to produce large semi-custom sports yachts as opposed to traditional custom tri-deck yachts proved successful and brought Palmer Johnson into the luxury yacht market with a renewed vengeance.

Today, advanced marine technology and striking design combine to create some of the most desirable superyachts in the world. Palmer Johnson's established brand identity is continually shaped through the ideas and unique vision of designers and engineers united in their pursuit to raise standards with each new build. Here we present seven fine yachts from a pedigree yard, all currently listed for sale.

Blue Ice 2009 45.72m $24.9 million

Delivered in 2009, Blue Ice is a spectacular superyacht of all-aluminium construction and the fifth hull in this successful range of performance yachts. Powered by twin MTU 16 V 3,650bhp diesel engines Blue Ice comfortably cruises at 24 knots and has a top speed of 27 knots.

With her striking ice blue colour and exterior lines, the yacht has excellent deck areas including a large flybridge with spa pool, sun pads and dining area, a further seating area and sun pads on the aft deck, and a private seating area with sun pads on the forepeak.

There are three dining areas, two of which seat eight people and a third which seats 10. Five guest cabins offer accommodation for up to 10 passengers. The master suite is accessible from the entertainment room and features a king-sized bed, private office, his-and-hers bathrooms, and a walk-in wardrobe. There are two VIP cabins with queen-sized beds and en suite bathrooms. Finally, there are two twin cabins, each with an en suite bathroom. Both twins can be converted to double cabins.

Blue Ice is listed for sale by Burgess and Jeff Partin at Fraser Yachts who says, 'Always maintained to the highest standard, she also enjoys an enviable charter following. Blue Ice is seriously for sale following a recent $3 million price reduction and is lying in the Old Port, Cannes.

Grey Matters  2007 45.72m $19 million

Launched to great acclaim in 2007, O'Khalila , now renamed Grey Matters , is a 46 metre aluminium semi-displacement yacht designed by the cutting-edge design team of Nuvolari Lenard. She incorporates open yacht style, high cruising speeds and very sleek lines that have helped make her one of the most eye-catching and head-turning yachts regularly seen in the South of France.

With her shimmering metallic gold exterior, this first PJ 150 in the Palmer Johnson Sport Yacht Series is a dramatic sight as she powers between destinations. Above all, she is a fun boat, with lots of features to amuse and entertain the owner's family and guests.

For extra performance, her owner took the option of installing three main engines rather than two, and with nearly 11,000hp from the MTU/Detroit DDEC diesels, she certainly does perform, with a top speed of well over 30 knots.

Just as important as top speed, the captain reports that O'Khalila runs smoothly and quietly at 26 knots in a wind of Force 6 and commensurate sea-state.

O'Khalila is listed for sale at Moran Yacht & Ship who comment, "We are very happy to add another Palmer Johnson to our fleet of yachts for sale." O 'Khalila has the accommodation, speed and style that clients are looking for and her price tag of $19 million makes her the most competitively priced PJ 150 on the market.'

Domino  2009 41.1m $19 million

Now renamed Domino , 41m PJ luxury yacht  Alfa Sea was built in 2009 and is an exceptional example of Italian styling by Nuvolari Lenard.

While she is part of the yard's PJ 135 range, a four-month refit in 2010 has transformed her into a true one-off. Changes included a new interior by renowned designer Rémi Tessier, paint job and entertainment system. She can accommodate up to 12 guests in five cabins, including a full-beam master suite while twin 3,650hp MTU engines propel her to speeds in excess of 30 knots.

Vassilis Fotilas, her listing broker at Fraser Yachts, says, 'Her 2010 refit makes her a very special PJ, unlike any other and she's the only PJ 135 available for immediate delivery.'

Vitamin 2009 36.58m $15.9 million

Built in 2009 to Lloyd's class and MCA compliant with exterior and interior design by Nuvolari Lenard, the 36.9m Vitamin accommodates eight guests in four large cabins.

The PJ luxury yacht Vitamin is currently for sale .

She features an aluminium hull and is in immaculate condition. Powered by MTU engines she has a cruising speed of 24 knots.

Ross Tannock at Moran Yacht & Ship has her listed for sale and says, '_Vitamin_ is the first of the new style PJ 120, built as hull number 7 in the yard's PJ 120 series of sports yachts. Twin 2,750hp MTU engines and a planing aluminium hull give her a maximum speed of 28 knots.'

Izumi 2008 36.58m €7.95 million

Delivered in 2008, Izumi is the sixth PJ 120 Sport Yacht. From her stunning crystal silver metallic paint to her recognisable sweeping lines, she is an excellent example of the series

This superyacht's striking interior has been designed by Nuvolari Lenard and is a combination of lacewood highlighted with high-gloss ebony, wengé flooring and Crema Marfil marble accents. Classed with Lloyd's and MCA compliant, Izumi is built to handle rough seas and take guests where they want to go in the utmost comfort.

Jonathan Barbe has her listed for sale at Edmiston & Company and says, "She is in immaculate condition having had only one owner since delivery and the same captain since build. I zumi has never been chartered and has been kept in A1 condition."

Keewaydin 1996 33.53m $5.49 million

The 33.53m Keewaydin is the last sailing yacht to be built by the yard. The collaboration of Palmer Johnson, John G Alden and John Munford resulted in a superlative sailing vessel that could travel the world in unrivalled style and comfort for a vessel her size. With Hood roller furling masts, Reckmann headstay furlers, a shallow draught centreboard design, a reliable Caterpillar main engine and a sail plan capable of powering her in all but the lightest winds, Keewaydin represents the epitome of a world cruiser.

Her broker is Dirk Johnson at Merle Wood & Associates who comments, '_Keewaydin_ has benefited from an comprehensive maintenance programme over the years which has kept her in extraordinary condition. In the last year she has been completely painted from the top of her masts to the bottom of her keel, received all-new teak decking, and been rigged with new carbon fibre booms, to name just a few of her many improvements.

Excel  1997 30.78m $2.9 million

Built in 1997 to a design by Raymond Hunt, the 30.78m Moon Rive__r , renamed Excel , has a deep-V hull form, providing an easy, forgiving ride even in poor weather conditions. Moreover, she is as good as new after a $3.7 million refit in 2008/09.

The refit saw Excel  receive new engines, interiors, electronics, ship's systems and a completely new paint job. She can accommodate eight guests in four cabins.

Michael Mahan at Worth Avenue Yachts has _Excel _listed for sale and has this to say: ' She is nothing short of immaculate turnkey doesn't even begin to describe it. New engines, new interior design, new electronics, new ship's systems and top to bottom new paint are only a few of the major items included in her recent refit and now she is very seriously for sale and all offers are strongly encouraged.'

Boat of the Week: How an Iconic 171-Foot Superyacht Got New Life After Being Unused for a Decade

It’s just a tad more powerful than the Aston Martin it’s named after. With a staggering 9,200-turbocharged horsepower, this 171-foot speed machine can reach a highly impressive 37 mph, two or three times faster than other yachts its size. Breakfast in Monaco, lunch in Porto Cervo and back in time for dinner? No problem.

Launched back in 2010 and christened DB9 after the classic V12-engined British sports car, it was the first of Palmer Johnson ’s iconic PJ 170 Sport Yacht range, and the only one built in England.

Eleven years later, DB9 still spins heads from St. Tropez to St. Barts—two of its favorite ports of call—like few other superyachts. Those razor-edged lines are from designers Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard of Venice-based Nuvolari Lenard.

Today, DB9 is the pride and joy of American businessman and boat lover, John Rosatti. Maybe you’ve bought a new car from one of his many Plaza Auto Mall dealerships. Or fine-dined at his Vic & Angelo’s Italian eatery in South Florida. Or grabbed a burger at one of his successful BurgerFi joints.

Rosatti bought DB9 back in 2019 a year after selling his much-loved 214-foot Codecasa superyacht Double Down . Before that, he owned the 160-foot Christensen Nice ’n Easy and, before that, the 127-foot Crescent Take it Easy.

At the time, the yacht was languishing unloved in an Istanbul shipyard, a for-sale sign in its window and an €18 million asking price. Rosatti’s car dealer instincts weighed the pros and cons. The cons included pricy overhauls for the yacht’s entire mechanical and electronic systems, plus a re-spray of the hull. The single, but eventually deciding, pro: an iconic boat at a great price.

Rosatti is currently off-the-grid aboard DB9 , cruising around the Italian island of Sardinia, so wasn’t available for comment. But Peter Thompson, managing director of Monaco-based Yachting Partners International, and Rosatti’s longtime friend and boat-buying advisor, gave Robb Report a history of the boat.

“ DB9 had pretty much been in mothballs her entire life,” he says. “Shortly after launch, she was hauled out of the water and parked on the hard. When we tracked her down in Istanbul years later, she had less than 1,200 hours on the engines.”

The Palmer Johnson was originally built for the Russian oligarch Sergei Pugachev. He was the founder of the MezhPrombank, and a close friend and advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to published reports, in 2011, a year after he took delivery of DB9 , Pugachev was accused by the Russian government of running off with a $1 billion bailout loan given to his bank. His considerable assets were reportedly seized, including DB9 , and he fled to England. He’s now living in exile in the South of France.

“A Turkish buyer bought the boat out of receivership in 2016, managed to get it to Istanbul and renamed it Aura ,” says Thompson. “But it just sat there and, as we know, boats like these hate not being used. When we found her in 2019, she needed work.”

After the purchase, the boat went into the Dunya Yachts yard in Istanbul for a comprehensive refit. All the systems were upgraded, those mighty MAN diesels were overhauled and the yacht was given a complete re-paint in that polarizing Champagne-with-red-bootstripe color scheme. And the original DB9 name was resurrected.

“Today she’s in absolutely pristine condition,” says Thompson. ”Inside and out, she looks brand new and still turns heads like no other boat I know.”

Some of DB9’s coolest features include not one, but three pools, including a huge 26-foot saltwater pool on the foredeck that, when empty, holds the yacht’s RIB tender. Emptying it takes less than 10 minutes. For alfresco entertainment, the yacht comes with a state-of-the-art outdoor cinema on the sundeck. Belowdecks are five spacious staterooms for up to 12 guests, including a full-beam master.

According to Thompson, the “owner recently decided that he wants to replace DB9 with a larger yacht more suited to world-girding.” So, when the Rosattis are done cruising the Med this fall, it’ll be displayed at the Monaco Yacht Show in September, with a €25 million, or $29.4 million, asking price.

Maybe Rosatti should consider throwing in a champagne-colored Aston Martin DB9 to sweeten the deal.

Palmer Johnson Unveils Golden 48M SuperSport Yacht in Sturgeon Bay

Gold makes everything better, right? That's what Palmer Johnson Yachts is counting on for their 48M SuperSport that was spotted cruising in the Sturgeon Bay shipping channel earlier this week. Sure, the luxury yacht looks like it is a spaceship or military craft from some angles, but in terms of design, it's actually pretty cool. 

According to Fox 11 , the vessel is the first of its kind, with the hull and superstructure made from carbon composite to help reduce the overall weight. “Basically it helps us reduce the structural weight by two thirds. So it’s a third of what a conventional hull would weigh. So that helps us reduce the power needed to push it through the water,” says Berkeley March, Palmer Johnson Yachts Head of Design. Thanks to its lightness, the golden yacht is able to hit 32 knots (around 36 mph). It also has enough room for 12 passengers and nine crew across its three decks.

Though the company is keeping pretty hush hush about the 48M SuperSport's price tag, they will say that the cost is in the tens of millions of dollars.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
