One of the favorite toys of the rich in famous is the seaward vessel known as a yacht. Several famous actors, musicians and entrepreneurs own yachts. A few of these wealthy celebrities even own some of the biggest boats in the world – super yachts.

Who is the most famous celebrity who owns a yacht? Well, Nicole Kidman owns a luxury yacht, Sunseeker Manhattan 74. In 2014, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie purchased a yacht for over $250 million. They have been known to vacation aboard the watercraft with the whole family. Their family. Not yours.

Several famous musicians also own yachts. In 2015, Jay-Z and Beyonce chartered a yacht for $900,000 a week. Bono has a 140-foot yacht called The Cyan, and Sean “Diddy” Combs owns a yacht worth $72 million. Other famous people who own yachts include Eric Clapton, Steven Spielberg and Tiger Woods.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have splashed out on a £250million superyacht.

The newlywed Hollywood A-listers are spending a further £200,000 to have the luxury vessel fitted to their own specifications.

The floating palace will be decked out with the finest Italian marble and woodwork by Italian boat-makers Rizzardi.

It will even feature technology that can interfere with digital cameras to fend off paparazzi.

Meanwhile, Brad, 50, and ­Angelina, 39, are in Malta shooting a film together after marrying in a secret ceremony in France last month.

But locals are said to be angry over alleged disruption to the village where the pair have hired six villas so they can be left in peace with kids Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and twins Vivienne and Knox, six.

A source said: “As well as two holiday homes to accommodate their brood, they’ve hired four surrounding them so they can have privacy.

"It’s as though they’ve sectioned off their own compound.

“Locals are getting angry as their presence is getting disruptive.”

Residents have posted comments on Facebook and some are ­planning an online petition to “show their displeasure”.

Don’t worry, folks – looks like they’ll soon be off to sea...

Spotting celebrities on a superyacht is no surprise, but some want to do more than just charter and have worked together with industry professionals on superyacht interiors or exteriors. From Brad Pitt to Lenny Kravitz, we look at the celebrities who have tried their hand at naval design

Roberto Cavalli

Fashion designer Roberto Cavalli is renowned for producing bold clothes that feature exotic animal prints. As both a designer and a lover of superyachts, it was only a matter of time before this celebrated creative would turn his hand to naval design. Together with Studio Spadolini , Cavalli worked on both the exterior and interior design of his batmobile-inspired yacht Freedom . Delivered by  Cerri Cantieri Navali in 2018, the interior is finished with Cavalli's signature leopard-spot prints.

A chance meeting between film star Brad Pitt and designer Frank Pollaro at the former’s French chateau in 2008 led to the formation of Pitt-Pollaro – a furniture collaboration based on Pitt’s extensive sketches. Combining modern design with luxurious and rare materials, the pieces grace more than a few stylish superyachts and always make Pitt-Pollaro one of the top luxury brands to grace the annual Monaco Yacht Show. It was concerns about the declining local boat building community in his native Long Island that led music legend Billy Joel to design a beautiful day boat in collaboration with Doug Zurn and CH Marine. The 11.58 metre Shelter Island Runabout is inspired by traditional teak tenders and offers a huge range of customisable options from cockpit layout to wood finishes and engine size. Launched in 1996 and with each built to order, the design has proved extremely popular with upwards of 40 hulls sold. After the success of their first model, the pair collaborated again to produce the 17 metre Vendetta .

Lenny Kravitz

So far does rock star Lenny Kravitz’s passion for design stretch that in 2003 he founded his own specialist firm: Kravitz Design Inc . Along with designing interiors for numerous luxury penthouses – along with the uber-swanky set for The Queen Latifah Show – Kravitz also teamed up with Swarovski on the stunning Casino Royal chandelier. Available in four superyacht-friendly sizes, it is the perfect embodiment of the growing importance of superyacht lighting trends .

When it comes to choosing the best gym equipment for superyachts , who better to ask for advice than world 100 metre champion and multiple Olympic medal winner Usain Bolt? This is exactly what builder Lürssen and designer Nuvolari Lenard did when putting the finishing touches on the interior of the 88 metre superyacht  Quattroelle .

Light and airy, the Bolt-designed gym features mirrored walls on two sides, multiple television screens and equipment including treadmills, cycling machines and multi-trainers arranged in an aesthetically pleasing symmetrical layout.

Vanilla Ice

When Rob Van Winkle’s career as a rapper began to stall, he found a previously undiscovered talent in interior decoration thanks to home renovation TV series The Vanilla Ice Project . The next logical step, of course, was to team up with Capitol Lighting on a range of high-end chandeliers and wall lamps for luxury residences which made their debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show back in 2012.

Brad Pitt + Angelina Jolie Charter Ghost II Super Yacht in Sydney

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their brood of six had a fun family day on the most expensive yacht available for charter during a vacation in Sydney, Australia.

The Jolie-Pitts had a day at sea on the Ghost II, a 120-foot Warren Sports Yacht.

The yacht, built in 2009, features luxury accommodations for up to eight guests in four cabins. Its staterooms are paneled in exotic fine-grained Makore timber and soft cream-colored leather, highlighted with stainless steel details.

The Art Deco-inspired interiors were designed by naval architect Peter Lowe and Anthony Starr Design.

The price to charter the yacht for a week: $90K.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's $100,000-Per-Week Australian Yacht: All the Details on Their Luxury Day!

Oscar-winning actress is currently hard at work down under directing her upcoming film, unbroken.

Move aside , Beyoncé and Jay Z , Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are the latest celeb couple to cruise around the ocean in style.

The couple and their six children were seen boarding a luxury yacht in Australia's Sydney Harbor earlier this week, and the family of eight then spent several hours playing in the water and soaking up the sun.

E! News has since learned that Brad and Angie dropped some serious dollars in order to rent the large boat, named Ghost , which, according to the owner of SuperYachtFan.com , "costs around $100,000 per week to charter."

Only the best for Shiloh , Maddox , Pax , Zahara , Vivienne and Knox , who were all seen playing on the high-end yacht's front deck.

The yacht, "is owned by Anthony Bell, who is a famous Australian accountant, owner of Bell Partners," the source tells E! News. "He is known as the 'celebrity accountant,' his clients include actors, sports stars and TV personalities."

The insider added that "Bell has an estimated net worth of $100 million."

And, according to the source, this isn't the first time Pitt has set foot on the extravagant boat.

"Brad Pitt has used this yacht earlier this year in June when he was on board Ghost with his son Pax," the source said.

The proud papa was seen smiling from ear to ear as he snapped pics of his wife and six children. The 49-year-old star has been in England and the United States working on several projects, including his own World War II film Fury , but flew across the globe to see his loved ones for a few short days (so sweet!).

Meanwhile, Angie has been hard at work Down Under, where she's currently directing her upcoming film , Unbroken .

After the fun-filled day with her family—which also included a trip to the Sydney Zoo—the Oscar-winning actress was spotted back on set today, where she received a visit from her 12-year-old son Maddox.

Unbroken tells the true story of former Olympian and real-life World War II hero Louis Zamperini , who, as an Air Force pilot, crashed into the Pacific Ocean in 1943. He was subsequently taken captive by Japanese soldiers and survived harsh circumstances before being saved by U.S. forces at the end of the war.

Brangelina's $10M Toy: The Speedy 120-foot Warren Sports Yacht Ghost II

When Brad Pitt , Angelina Jolie and their six children wanted a day of serious fun in Sydney during their recent vacation to Australia, they chartered one of the area’s most exclusive superyachts, the Ghost II . The 120-foot Warren Sports Yacht, built in 2009, is a high performance vessel capable of outrunning the paparazzi with a top speed of 26 knots thanks to its twin 2,400hp engines. The yacht, said to be the most luxurious and modern vessel available for charter in Australia, features luxury accommodations for up to eight guests in four cabins, as well as six crew members in three separate cabins. The superyacht’s interior design is one of the world’s best, with staterooms paneled in exotic fine-grained Makore timber and soft cream-colored leather, set off by bold stainless steel detailing.

The vessel's interiors are modern, sleek and nautical in style with an Art Deco flair, and was designed by naval architect Peter Lowe and Anthony Starr Design (which did the interiors and exterior scheme). The Ghost II's main saloon features an open dining area with seating for eight guests, with various al fresco lounging and entertaining spaces as well. Chartering at about $90k per week, not including extras like a private chef and security detail, the luxury yacht is also available for outright purchase for about $10M.

  The 'Inglourious Basterds' actor Brad Pitt, who has set up home with Angelina Jolie and their six children in the south of France in their vast estate, Château Miraval, has bought a new toy for the family and it cost a fortune.

   Pitt always fancied a beautiful yacht and dropped recently $7.6 million for it. He brought the boat after selling a share of his French vineyard to famous winemaker Marc Perrin.   The couple's wine venture has already proven a huge success after selling out in just five hours. 

  Pitt is said to be in love with the idea of taking his kids out around the islands along the coast of the South of France near St Tropez.

  It is believed Brad's friend, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, will help him charter the 75ft yacht out to wealthy individuals while he's away filming.   The yacht sleeps eight but you can have more on board if you are just going out for a day.

The Inglorious Basterds actor Brad Pitt, along with his former wife, Angelina Jolie, and his family, set up home in the south of France in their vast estate of Chateau Miraval. At the time, Pitt had always fancied about buying a yacht and take his family out around the islands along the coast of the south of France near Tropez. Eventually, he bought one for a price of $7.6 million after selling a share of his French vineyard to Marc Perrin, a famous winemaker. Also, his friend, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, helped him charter his yacht to wealthy personalities while he’s away filming.

Throughout Pitt’s career, we can’t deny the fact that he’s achieved a great degree of success. Some of the proofs were his awards and recognitions, including a Golden Globe Award, an Academy Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award. Another business that Pitt ventured into was his production company, Plan B Entertainment.
