The STGi shipyard started at the turn of the millennium with sailing catamarans for Aventura Catamarans. Until 2017, it also built for Kerkena Sailing and Sterne Fish Motor Boats. The Tunisian shipyard, under the management of Frenchman Romain Roger, now focuses exclusively on the Aventura brand. Production takes place in Menzel Bourguiba, around 75 kilometres north-east of Tunis. Carpentry and upholstery work is carried out in France, while assembly takes place in Tunisia. The first motorised catamaran, the Aventura 10, arrived in 2016. The Aventura 14 followed in 2021, and we were able to test the power cat after the International Multihull Show. Sales in Germany are handled by cat sale GmbH & Co. KG owned by Klaus Tietze in Bremen. At least €866,570 must be saved up for the basic equipment.
The Aventura 14 in detail:
We go on board via the 1.80 metre long bathing platform. A staircase on the starboard side leads to the cockpit with a large L-shaped upholstered bench and table and the entrance to the skipper's cabin in the port hull. This is followed by the saloon with a U-shaped upholstered seating area with a 190 x 80 cm folding table and the galley to port. The standard equipment includes a 560-litre refrigerator with ice cube maker and a 4-burner gas cooker. The companionways to the hulls and the steering position to port are located at the front end of the saloon. Various electronic packages are available for the latter, leaving nothing to be desired.

The access door to the foredeck is practical and also increases safety. Safety is a top priority anyway. There are two electric bilge pumps in each hull, plus another in each engine compartment and a manual one. The situation is similar with the fire extinguishers. A total of seven foam extinguishers and extinguishing systems are on board in the engine compartments. There are numerous emergency escape hatches. There are two sun loungers in the foredeck and benches with a table on each side.
Choice of three to six cabins
That leaves the flybridge. Here, too, there is plenty of space. The hardtop, the hydraulically lowerable bathing platform and other extras are part of the extensive "Pack Privilège" equipment package, which costs 135,065 euros. The wetbar is located behind the stairs. It can be optionally equipped with refrigeration technology, an electric grill and a sink. On the starboard side, there is also a fully equipped helm station. It also has a manual compass, which we missed at the command centre in the saloon.
Naturally, there is a large U-shaped seating area with table on the Flybridge de Aventura. There is plenty of cushioned sunbathing space at the rear. There is a choice of three to six double cabins. The test boat has five cabins, including a very large owner's cabin with sofa and desk. All cabins are equipped with en-suite bathrooms and have headroom of at least 1.95 metres. Separate showers and pump toilets are standard. The double berths all measure around 1.93 x 1.50 metres.
Range enables Atlantic crossing with the Aventura
The motorisation in the test boat with two Yanmar LV8-320s corresponds to the basic version. The diesel engines transmit their power to the propellers via a shaft using space-saving ZF V-Drive transmissions. Yanmar diesels with 324 kW (440 hp) are also available as an option. The tank capacity is remarkable, with two 1500-litre reservoirs that can be supplemented by a further 1000-litre tank. The Aventura 14 is therefore designed for long journeys. The construction is designed for displacement cruising. The maximum speed of 11.7 kn at 3850 rpm is reached after 13 seconds.
The basic motorisation of the Aventura is therefore completely sufficient. It is many times more efficient in the speed range of 2000 rpm at a speed of 7.2 knots and an hourly consumption of 19.6 litres. This results in a range of 936 nautical miles with a 15 per cent reserve. If you reduce to 6.6 knots, the range is already around 1300 nautical miles. With an additional tank, Atlantic crossings are possible at a moderate speed. The cat is also very manoeuvrable. The Aventura 14 masters full circles at full throttle with a diameter of 2.5 boat lengths. At slow speed, the boat turns on the spot with the right throttle setting. The reaction time when reversing is three seconds. The hulls go through waves as smooth as butter and the overall seaworthiness is excellent.

The Aventura 14 is an independent development and not a sailboat without a mast. The catamaran is suitable for owners with large space requirements as well as for charter companies. Thanks to its good seaworthiness and high tank capacity, the yacht is ideal for long voyages. The quality level is high and the basic equipment is generous.

6 cabins and 6 bathrooms
For this new concept, the design was once again entrusted to Lasta Design Studio. The result is modern lines combined with stepped hulls for marine performance. Living space is very important as the Aventura 14 Power can be fitted out with 6 cabins, each with its own bathroom. A configuration with which the builder hopes to target the charter market, but also large families.
A transoceanic ship
Approved in category A, the boat is capable of making a transatlantic crossing thanks to large fuel tanks: 3000 L as standard and 1000 L extra as an option.
Beautiful outdoor living areas
On the outside, as on the smallest model in the range, there are three beautiful living spaces. The forward cockpit is directly accessible from inside the boat thanks to a central door integrated into the windscreen. At the stern, the cockpit is equipped with a large U-shaped bench seat with its table, and can accommodate up to 12 guests. In fact, it was one of the specifications to be able to take meals for 12 - the maximum number of passengers on the boat - both inside and outside. In the extension of the cockpit, there is access via a step to starboard to a very large bathing platform, ideal for anchoring.
Finally, the flybridge is just as spacious with a surface area of 27 m2 and fully equipped: steering position at the bow, kitchen, U-shaped dining area, huge sunbathing area... It is even possible as an option to divide this large relaxation area by adding a jacuzzi. For more comfort, the fly can be covered with a rigid bimini with optional electric sunroof.
A single-storey layout and central circulation
Inside, the layout is on the same level, with all traffic flowing on the same level from bow to stern. The large windows retract entirely to create a single space.
The main deck is fitted out with a lot of comfort to enjoy the navigation like at home. There is a fully equipped galley with a 600 L American refrigerator, a large U-shaped saloon opposite and a steering position for two people on the starboard bow. As an option, many facilities are available for long-term living on board: washing machine, dishwasher, wine cellar, etc.
The Aventura 14 Power is also equipped with Garmin's EmpirBus technology, which allows digital control of all the instruments on board, via a tablet for example.
Floats with a modular layout
Offered as standard with 3 cabins including a float reserved entirely for the owner's suite, the Aventura 14 Power offers up to 12 berths. A feat made possible on a catamaran of this size by installing all the tanks and equipment under the gondola. A space of 70 cm in height between the floor and the bottom of the gondola has been designed for this purpose. As an option, it will also be possible to install a generator or air conditioning.
Propulsion and rates
The Aventura 14 Power is powered by two 320 HP Yanmar inboard engines and, as an option, by 2X440 HP.
With a starting price at 595?000 euros HT, this catamaran should be sold as a turnkey project between 900?000 euros and 1 million euros.

In the early 2000s, the manufacturer Aventura, specialized in the manufacture of composite polyester, started its activity with monohulls of less than 8 meters and small catamarans of coastal camping of 20 to 28 feet, then of coastal cruise. From the outset, the prices displayed are tight; this “least expensive boat in its category” position is permanently anchored in the manufacturer’s policy – it is still forbidden today. The next decade saw a rise in the construction industry to models over 40 feet long – super-habitable and comfortable – for offshore cruising. Since 2015, it is the architect Samer Lasta who designs the Aventuras, and this collaboration makes a great success for the brand, which has become established in the panorama of manufacturers of medium-scale multihulls. With more than fifty units produced annually, Aventura Catamarans is right behind the very first major shipyards. Three sailing models are available: 34, 37 and 44. The first powercats started in 2016 with the 10 Power, with an outboard and inboard powertrain.

Aventura 14 Power
Also launched at The Cannes Yachting Festival, and to much praise, was the new flagship Aventura 14 Power Catamaran . This really is a stunning new design with an astonishing amount of useable leisure space. Think of it as your adventure base and waterfront apartment for exploring what Australia has to offer on our coastline.
A saloon that opens to a large protected cockpit is ideal for entertaining with a full width swim platform, while the flybridge is huge offering panoramic views with a large protected hardtop. However, the saloon also opens forward to a bow cockpit ideal for sun-lounging and aperitifs.
Multiple layouts are available with the standard being a master and two guest cabins, all with ensuites, but up to a six-cabin layout is available. The saloon itself has a dinette to starboard facing to port, with the galley up and forward on the same side. The master cabin takes up the port hull and is simply luxurious with a fully rectangular island style bed, while both guest cabins are in the starboard hull.
Extremely roomy and safe the Aventura 14 comes with standard twin 320hp diesels with 1500 litres of fuel offering a top speed of approximately 18 knots, and an extensive range that will take you wherever you dream of adventures.
