Istion Yachting: Expertise and Networking

Istion’s charter base in Croatia was inaugurated during the 2023 tourist season and focuses on fleet management, charter management, and the sale and purchase of pleasure boats, with the active involvment of local stakeholders, financial institutions and organizations. In 2024 Istion Yachting is enriching its fleet with 12 new additions of monohull and catamaran sailboats; a fleet of 26 brand-new vessels is now located in the enchanting Skradin .

ACI marina Skradin jedna je od najposjećenijih tranzitnih luka na Jadranu, koja zahvaljujući bogatoj opremljenosti sadržajima te ponudom najrazličitijih usluga kontinuirano privlači sve veći broj domaćih i stranih nautičara. Viva Istion!!

Second year in a one way charter with Istion This time a long trip (400 NM) from Corfu to Alimos. All was fine, all the team gave us a very great support and flexibility since the first contacts with the customer services (Giannis, Dorellina …€. Nice amd so profesional people. The team in Gouvia leaded by Dimitri gave all the support to connect our portable AIS etc… But Stephan from Alimos, keep having our 💯 score!! Thank you all!! See you next year!

Beautiful people, beautiful yachts indeed!!!

The professional base personnel at Alimos, the quality of the yacht, the fresh smell of the bedsheets, the clean galley, and the best sailing holiday we could ever live! Enjoying our breakfast on the breathtaking view of Hydra’s port, then going for a swim to Spetses and then staying on anchor to Port Heli bay!Thank you Istion for making this trip so special for our family! Charter from Istion: "Find hidden problem or pay for it!"

Every experienced skipper knows: it is impossible to check ALL the boat before start. You never know how many problems are hidden inside engine and gear, under waterline or on inaccessible side of hull. You fill in check box "all right" (in check-in form) and leave deposit before start. And if later hidden problem will be found you have a best chance to reveal how fair is chartering company. In my case (charter 24-30.09.2022, catamaran Bali 4.1 «E.S.») there were crushed and ground plastic near anchor roller — somebody left anchor hanged and in wavy conditions it stricken a hull long-long time. This place was invisible from deck as far as from shore (catamaran was moored stern-to-shore). There was small hole from inside, but it was also invisible under chain (seems like hidden for the check-in) and hardly visible because of dirt. Of course, I have checked a bottoms on the first anchorage, as I do it usual. Propeller, rudder, than keel of one hull, than keel, rudder and finally propeller on second hull. I missed front section from below — till now I had no problem with this. And have found the problem only Thursday. During my 20 years of chartering experience I had some such a "cases of uncertainty" (who is guilty) and good chartering company always examined facts: was it possible to do the damage in such a conditions and circumstances. Because wise businessmen know how important for company's reputation is avoiding mistaken penalty. But for Istion client's money (deposit) is more important that reputation. On the check-out they organized standard "performance for client": first to postpone final decision till saturday morning (when client will be hurrying in airport); then to find "repair expert" who maid a quotation of repair exactly for summ of deposit; than to send a client for further discussion to main office (of course, online); then every your letter will be answered with a week delay... For Istion doesn't matter that in my charter conditions it was hardly possible to do such a damage — we cruised in calm conditions, maid short passages and we had to be deaf, not to hear such a hits (even under power I hear a can of beer, rolling inside of drawer, what to say about anchor!). They prefer your money in all possible ways. So, if you like risky games, Istion is your's chartering company. Be sure: if you miss any hidden problem onboard, you will be pushed to pay for it. But if you come for relaxing vacation without problem — better avoid Istion. P.S. More then 12 month have passed since Istion pushed us to pay for someone’s fail. And till now I have not received promised invoice on repairment. Not surprised — for sure, to fix anchor area (fare above waterline) with bolted stainless still plate (I have seen such a repairment) cann’t cost even 1000 euro, what to say about 3000. This is another confirmation of cheating by Istion. P.P.S. I have 8 witnesses that are ready to confirm all abovementioned facts in court.

Excellent experience from Kos

We chartered a monohull yacht from the Kos base with a skipper. Our checkin was very fast and we were allowed to leave the marina the same night (which last year using another company weren't allowed to do). The yacht was impeccable, very clean and fully equipped. The skipper was very knowledgeable about the area and suggested a great itinerary that took us to Pserimos, Leros, Patmos and Arkious! Overall, a very professional and pleasant experience.

We would like to express public our sincere thanks for our sailing holiday that was above expectations. The boat was comfortable and reliable and perfect for what we wanted. Thank you also for arranging for us to have Andreas as our skipper. He was the perfect choice for us and we cannot speak too highly of him and his ability. He was a very capable skipper and we always felt very safe with him. We also enjoyed his company, nothing was too much trouble for him, and his suggested itinerary and places to visit were perfect.

Great job at Kos base

Kos base. Have been chartering boats from Istion since many years and from various bases. Overall the company does a great job and I especially like the team at their Kos base. Professional, friendly and personal. Just finished another charter from Kos and all was just perfect. Boat condition, cleaning, office staff, base manager, remote support with minor issues while we were sailing, the whole team. It is great to be back and see the familiar faces again. Already look forward for my next charter with them!

Dream week in Ionian area

We had an amazing week with our boat Jupiter from Lefkas base in July. Our skipper Giorgio was excellent, professional and friendly. We really loved spending time to beautiful bays and small islands where Giorgio recommended! The weather was so hot but the water in Ionian area is so refreshing! Many thanks to the exceptional base personnel for this unique experience.

Seven-day yacht charter from Lefkas

Seven-day yacht charter from Lefkas last week. What a great charter company and what a spectacularly efficient team! Any minor hiccup was resolved in a stupendously fast manner, with politeness and actual active listening scoring the highest in long charting experience. Vessel-wise, the monohaul (Lux) we chartered was an absolute beaut ready for us by check-in time.

We Sailed for two weeks out of Lavrion

We Sailed for two weeks out of Lavrion, Greece on Oceanis 51. Our experience with check-in and check-out was excellent and efficient. Chrysa, who is the manager at Lavrion base, is very knowledgeable and made sure our skipper was updated with the condition of the boat (was one year old, so everything practically new) Our skipper, Alexi, is very familiar with the Greek seas and knows secluded coves and mooring spots in all islands. In addition we also managed to visit multiple ancient sites in various locations! (it was not all plain sailing...) Obviously we recommend Istion to anyone planning to sail in Greek waters. We also recommend two weeks is much better (previous few years we sailed one week at a time and was too short to enjoy) FYI We are already planning our next year's sail with Istion!

Insufficient customer service

We wanted to change to a bigger and more comfortable boat after the first week of two weeks charter , for our boat has been in a very used condition inside. We found an available boat at the same marina and would like to pay the difference of the upgrade, but Istion insisted on the booking and we would only have been able to get the new boat by paying a complete new booking for one week That’s not a way to make customers happy and returning …

Amazing experience in Lefkas base

I couldn't be more satisfied with this company and the base staff that really gave us the best vacation ever! Our boat an Oceanis 38 in Lefkas ,was in excellent condition and clean. We definitely return back!

Bali 4.1 - best catamaran at Cos

I had a great experience with Anemoskala catamaran on April 27 2019 from Kos, Greece - checkin was great, cat was in perfect condition. One bothering issue was water filter but technician arrived to Simi and fixed it. The only other minor issue was breaking of genoa block but luckely it happened on the last day of charter. Staff was helpful and responding via WhatsApp, good English, totally recommend.

BEST EXPERIENCE WITH THE BEST HOSPITALITY

I had the honor of being accommodated on the best catamaran I could have. Both the quality of the boat and the service of the staff at the base was fantastic. I had the opportunity to visit the beautiful Dodecanese islands and started from Kos. When I arrived, the base manager was waiting for me and my crew and immediately greeted me with the warmest welcome. After a detailed briefing of the characteristics of the boat at the check in procedure, I started my journey. I spent the best holidays in Greece. It is definitely an experience I would do again, and I would definitely choose ISTION to make my dream come true again. Until next time!

If sailing in Greece avoid any boat…

If sailing in Greece avoid any boat belonging to the charter company istion.com like the plague. One of their charterers hit my boat while I was moored and they have refused to accept liability even though the skipper has fully accepted responsibility. My boat is now impounded until some futile court hearing and all my boat papers have been confiscated. A typical example of a greedy self interested charter company for which Greece is becoming infamous.

Istion Yachting je u svoju najnoviju plovidbenu avanturu zaplovio 13. travnja, iz svoje potpuno nove baze za najam jahti u Skradinu . Putovanje je uključivalo plovidbu kroz Zlarin i Kornate , pristajanje u uvali Telašćica , sidrenje s pogledom na prelijepo zalazak sunca na otoku Kapriju i za kraj te hrvatske avanture, posjet čudesnom Primoštenu .

Zbog kratkih ruta i raznolikosti krajolika kojima prolazi, kao i zbog lokalne kulture i tradicije tih mjesta, kup nudi jedinstvenu avanturu za jedriličare, obitelji i prijatelje bez obzira na razinu nautičke vještine, pa je sjajna prilika za grupe prijatelja ili obitelji da se okušaju u regatnom jedrenju. Rogoznica - A solemn fishing village turned Tourist hotspot!

Located in the eponymous cove between Sibenik and Split is a marvelous bay protected from strong winds and is often considered as one of the safest harbours in Adriatic. Rogoznica was an old quaint fishing village turned to a huge tourist attraction that has a span of 54km long coast and full sandy beaches with a occasional rocky formation. Brac-Milna - Self sustainable and full of activities

Brac is best known for the white-pebble beach Zlatni Rat (Golden Cape) is the largest island of the central  Dalmatian  group of islands and the third largest among the  Adriatic  islands. A local surfing haven as it offers a highly-favored windsurfing site outside the resort town of Bol. Additionally a high tourist attraction, Supetar, the island’s main town, offers a unique horseshoe-shaped beach.

Venetians called Milna “Valle di mille navi" the bay of a thousand ships. Milna is still globally acclaimed as the most beautiful and safest harbours of Brač. Stone houses along the beautiful long coastline are small masterpieces of plebeian architecture along with ta beautiful Baroque church equipped with a dalmatian bell tower. SIBENIK - A cultural gem in the river Krka
