Riviera Yachts is a luxury yacht maker based in Australia that has been in business since 1980. The firm is based in Coomera, Queensland, and specializes in the construction of high-quality luxury boats for cruising, sport fishing, and other nautical activities.

Riviera Yachts has a variety of models available in many collections, including the Riviera Sports Motor Yacht, Riviera SUV, and Riviera Flybridge. The boats are made using high-quality materials and cutting-edge building processes and have sumptuous interiors, innovative technology, and high-performance capabilities.

Since 1980, Riviera Australia has built and launched more than 5,650 luxury motor yachts ranging from 39 to 72 feet in length. The family-owned business first started in Sydney and soon grew to larger locations. Today Riviera yachts are built in a 14-hectare manufacturing facility in Coomera, Queensland on the coast of southern Australia.

The 2020 facility expansion increased capability and efficiency allowing the majority of the work to be housed in one location. Facilities were added for Riviera’s New Model Development team of craftsmen, designers, engineers, naval architects, draftsmen, and boatbuilders. Other improvements include several yacht transporters for on-site maneuvering, a 100-metric ton marine transporter, and a Marine Travelift.

Technology is a top priority at Riviera and yacht models come with the Volvo Penta Integrated Propulsion System’s (IPS) joystick navigation and glass cockpit navigation. To the strength and stability of Riviera yachts, the company prides itself on putting all boats through rigorous testing in the challenging offshore conditions of Australia’s waters.

All models are semi-custom and hand-crafted using state-of-the-art technology including digital kitting to cut fiberglass and structural foams, as well as Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) precision cuts for joinery work. Weight is saved with closed molding for smaller parts and a robotic varnish machine perfects finish with up to five coats of varnish.

Manufacturing crews hand-lay up hull constructions using multi- or quad-fiberglass matting over core materials and major structural components are glass-reinforced plastic (GRP). Hull and deck joinery work are bonded, bolted, and strapped. Fuel tanks are fire-retardant resin and fiberglassed into place and the exterior stainless steel used on Rivieras is corrosion resistance 316 grade.

In 2012, Riviera was acquired by Rodney Longhurst, a developer, entrepreneur, and boater-builder. 

Riviera Yachts has won numerous awards for its yacht designs and innovations, including the Australian Marine Export Group's Marine Industry Exporter of the Year award and the Australian International Design Award for its 70 Enclosed Flybridge model.

The sports motor yacht model is built for a comfortable ride, even at running speed. This luxury long-range cruiser houses a spacious salon, mezzanine, and cockpit. Customers can choose three or four staterooms with three heads, as well as the option for a crew cabin or utility room. Another option is between MAN V12 diesel engines, either the V12-1550, V12-1800, or the V12-1900. The efficient hull design comes from the desk of yacht architect Frank Mulder.

Guide to Buying a Riviera Yacht

Riviera Yachts is the largest and most awarded luxury yacht builder in Australia and a leader in the global marine industry. The name Riviera is synonymous around the world with quality, style, innovation, seakeeping ability and value.

Are you the market for a new or used Riviera and want to know more about the brand and their current models available? As an official sales representative for Riviera, I am very familiar with the brand and know their models inside and out.

Here’s what you need to know as you begin your search for the Riviera yacht that meets your needs:

What sets Riviera Yachts apart from other similar brands?

Riviera yachts are built in Australia where the seas are very rough, so they have been designed and built to withstand true, blue-water conditions. From a structural aspect, their design is second to none. Each Riviera yacht is built with a solid fiberglass bottom, forward watertight crash bulkheads, keels, and a fiberglass tabbed deck-to-hull joint. All of which combine to create one of the most rugged fiberglass hulls on the market today.

Riviera also embraces the latest navigational technology, with models that are equipped with joystick steering, digital switching, glass cockpit navigation, and Volvo Penta Integrated Propulsion System (IPS). Through the use of jack shafts in the pod drive installations, their models are able to maintain a balanced center of gravity and running attitude.

The interior design is also very impressive. The styling is richly contemporary, yet not faddish. The interior cabinetry is all handcrafted using real timber instead of MDF/artificial wood. In short, Riviera is designed and built to run correctly, is safe to move around on, and radiates beauty that will stand the test of time.

Meghan Markle Reveals New American Riviera Orchard Products

This weekend, Prince Harry's close friend Nacho Figueras posted two new ARO goodies on his Instagram story.

The new American Riviera Orchard products come on the heels of the Duchess of Sussex sending out strawberry jam . The raspberry jam, notably, is a limited edition of two, whereas the strawberry was labeled out of a run of 50.

Not much is known yet about American Riviera Orchard; the trademark application , filed in March of this year, reveals the brand could possibly sell home goods, cookbooks, tableware, edible treats, soaps, fragrances, yoga mats, stationery, pet accessories, wallpaper, and more. The Instagram account for ARO, which launched in March, offers no details.

It is possibly that the lifestyle brand will tie into to one of Harry and Meghan's newly announced projects for Netflix : Meghan's cooking and entertaining show . The as-yet-untitled show, which has no premiere date yet, will see Meghan "celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship."

There hasn't been much news from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since their three-day trip to Nigeria last month. The Sussexes were not in attendance at Trooping the Colour this past weekend, where Kate Middleton made her first appearance of the year since announcing her cancer diagnosis . Prince Harry and Meghan haven't gone to Trooping since 2022 , when they watched the birthday parade from the Major General's Office with other non-working members of the British royal family.
