Ireland are amazing at really poncy sports like sailing. It's up there with horse riding, golf, rugby and breeding pedigree dachshunds as one of Ireland's top five posh sports. The Royal St. George Yacht Club, with it outrageously West British name, must have a hand to play in this in some way. I wouldn't know, although I have been here once for a 21st birthday party once and found it to be fairly similar to all the other 21st parties I've been to. There were a definitely a few more paintings of sail boats around but the cocktail sausages tasted the same. Anyway, it's a lovely Georgian building, well worth a visit if you happen to be in Dun Laoghaire although you may have to drink some soup before they'll let you in.

This is one of the older of the Yacht clubs in Dun Laoghaire set in a beautiful club house with easy access to the water. There have been many changes of staff over the last while but it seems to be a little more settled now although some of the older staff will be missed the newer staff have been busy learning the ropes (excuse the pun). Over the years the food has been hit and miss and at the time of writing this review the food is a hit again with a new menu with regular changes. I had roast rib of beef which was perfect.
