A quick (but unreliable) Google search told us that there at about 12,000 marinas in the United States.

Whether that’s true or not, that’s a lot to sift through. But we did it — we found the top 10 superyacht marinas in the U.S.

1. Yacht Haven Grande | Miami, Florida

“Welcome to Miami” is the vibe when you step off the yacht and into Yacht Haven Grande by Island Gardens. This marina is nothing short of flash and accommodates some of the largest superyachts in the world. 

This Miami marina was specifically designed to host mega yachts reaching 500+ feet in length, plus accommodation for smaller tenders. All the way at the End of the World (as Montauk, NY is so often referred to), is Gurney’s Star Island Marina . It’s part of a larger resort and therefore offers plenty of amenities for boat owners who book a slip. Despite a sense of exclusivity, Gurney’s Star Island Marina does not require a membership. 

The marina can accommodate yachts up to 220 feet with a maximum draft of 12 feet. Boat guests have full access to Gurney’s Star Island facilities and amenities, including laundry services, a private beach, a fitness center, heated pools, tennis courts, and waterfront dining options. It’s a welcome land excursion for yacht charters in New England .

3. Bahia Mar Yachting Center | Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Smack dab in the heart of Fort Lauderdale is the Bahia Mar Resort and Yachting Center (also home to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show ). It’s all about the amenities when you dock at Bahia Mar, which includes access to a swimming pool, fitness center, entertainment concierge, diving and sailing tours, and dining options. Oh, and the beach is right across the street. 

The marina is separated into the South Basin and the North Basin, with the resort, parking, shops, and restaurants conveniently in the middle. Bahia Mar holds 250 slips and can accommodate vessels up to 300 feet in length. Facilities include fueling, free WiFi, cable television, and pump out. Safe Harbor has locations all over the west and east coasts, but its marina in Charleston , South Carolina is one of the best superyacht marinas in the United States. It’s home to the Mega Dock (dun, dun duunn), which hosts some of the most prestigious yachts in the world.

Charleston is a premier boating destination , and the marina’s state-of-the-art facilities and southern hospitality are a welcome respite after a big day on the water. Californians do things big — the marina has hotel rooms, restaurants, a Denison office , a movie theater, paddleboard rentals, and a shopping center (among other amenities ). It’s a short drive to/from Santa Monica for the beach or LAX to catch a flight. The Delta Marina Yacht Harbor was built in the late 1950’s by the Baumann family of Rio Vista, out of what used to be known as St. Joseph’s Cut along the Sacramento River.

The Marina can accommodate up to 250 boats. We have both covered and uncovered slips. Our slips range in size from 20 ft to 40 ft. We have one of the largest guest docks in the Delta, with nearly 800 ft of docking space for overnighters or yacht clubs.

We also have an RV Park with 25 sites. Thirteen of those sites are right on the Sacramento River, and others are tucked under mature trees with a view of the marina. Be sure to also check out THE POINT restaurant on the property, with great views, and even better food … 7 days a week!

You can find us at the south end of Second Street, just past Riverview Middle School. Groceries and restaurants are only a few blocks walk away. Rio Vista is a charming small town right along the Sacramento River in Solano County. We are proud to call it home. We get many visitors to our marina and RV park who say, “We never knew you were here! ~ What a great find!” Comments like these make our day! The Boynton Beach Fire Rescue responded to a boat fire Friday evening.

Fire rescue responded at 6:38 p.m. to the Harbor Inlet Club. When crews arrived at the scene, they rescued five people from the water. The five people were initially on the boat that caught on fire.

According to fire rescue, the boat that was on fire drifted into additional boats docked at the harbor. That led to the fire spreading.

The fire onshore was contained by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, and no injuries were reported.

Boynton Beach Fire Rescue was also joined by the Boynton Beach Police Department, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in fighting the fire.

5 people rescued from boat fire in Boynton Beach

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Boynton Beach Fire Rescue responded Friday evening to a boat fire offshore at the Harbor Inlet Club.

Crews rescued five people from the boat.

At some point during the boat fire, the vessel drifted into other boats docked at Harbor Inlet Club, which caused the fire to spread.

There were no reported injuries, and the fire was contained.

Video from Boynton Beach Fire Rescue shows footage of at least one boat on fire.

Boynton Beach Police Department, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office, Boat US and Florida Fish & Wildlife assisted in the rescue.

Early morning fire damages multiple boats at Las Vegas Boat Harbor at Lake Mead

LAKE MEAD (KTNV) — About 15 boats were damaged or destroyed after an early morning fire at Las Vegas Boat Harbor at Lake Mead.

According to the National Park Service, the fire started around 12:30 a.m. and was contained by 3:30 a.m.

As of Sunday evening, authorities were still investigating what caused the fire.

Jeff Sammons, a Boulder City resident who operates a waste removal company at Lake Mead, was asleep on his boat when he was startled by an explosion sometime after midnight.

"It was crazy," Sammons says. "A (National Park Service) ranger knocked on the door of my boat and said I have to evacuate. There were flames everywhere. Thank goodness there were no fatalities."

Owners of affected boats have been notified of damages by Las Vegas Boat Harbor staff.

The marina remains open to the public but NPS officials issued a partial area closure of the harbor's "R" and "I" docks, while the investigation continues.

"Everybody ended up being safe and that was in part due to the fact there was a fast response by the marina and the NPS and everybody involved," Sammons says.

Due to potential safety concerns, rangers are advising visitors to be cautious when accessing Hemenway Harbor and open portions of Las Vegas Boat Harbor.

The National Park Service is referring visitors to Boating Lake Mead's Facebook page for specific updates to marina operations and they will share additional updates when they become available.

According to Boating Lake Mead, there are no known fatalities and only two minor injuries. They state one boat owner went to the hospital to be treated for burns and one firefighter was checked out at the scene.

'Harry Potter' author J.K. Rowling's yacht docks in Charleston harbor

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The yacht owned by "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling is docked in Charleston's harbor Wednesday.

Rowling's yacht, called the Samsara, came to the Holy City from the port of Savannah, Georgia, according to global ship tracking website MarineTracker .

The Samsara left Savannah Saturday, June 8 around 1:00 p.m., and arrived in Charleston Sunday, June, 9 around 8:50 a.m., MarineTracker's voyage information shows.

Superyachtfan.com, which is a database about yachts, their owners, and private jets, lists the Samsara at a value of $150 million, with an annual running cost of $10-$15 million.

The yacht was crafted in 2015, built by Oceanco, and designed by Espen Oeino, according to Superyacht fan .

It has 20 cabins in total and can get up to 20 knots in speed.

Rowling's "Harry Potter" series have sold over 500 million copies worldwide, according to Scholastic Media Room .

The series was later adapted into eight films, which grossed over $7.7 billion worldwide at the box office, according to IMDB .

Acadia Lobster Cruise

Nearly every restaurant around Mount Desert Island has some form of lobster on the menu (Maine is the center of the American Lobster Universe , afterall), but this food cruise lets you get in on the action. You’ll tour the cool waters of Frenchman Bay on board a vintage lobster boat before getting the chance to haul traps yourself. The lobsters you catch are steamed right on the boat with a pot full of seawater and plump ears of corn, and the tour finishes with a simple feast while moored in a calm inlet with paper plates and trays of melted butter. The lobster itself tastes incredible (the secret, the captain says, is the seawater steam), and you’ll learn more about the history and culture of lobster fishing in a few hours than you could attending Lobster University on TikTok. And just when the day couldn’t be any better, you get a dense, hefty slice of blueberry pie for dessert.

Breaking news, transportation | state court finds paul pelosi attacker guilty of kidnapping, transportation | free port of oakland harbor tours give passengers an inside look at the seaport, harbor tours are free, but tickets are limited.

Adults and children who register for free tickets can board a Blue & Gold Ferry at the Oakland Jack London Terminal at 6:45 p.m. on July 12. The narrated tour lasts 90 minutes and takes passengers through the seaport, the first major port on the Pacific Coast to build terminals for container ships. There is also an Aug. 16 cruise scheduled at 6:45 p.m. and two in the fall on Sept. 13 and Oct. 18 that begin at 5:30 p.m.

Boarding begins 15 minutes before the boat leaves.

Tours take guests into the Oakland middle and outer harbors, under the western span of the Bay Bridge near Yerba Buena Island and back to Jack London Square. While sailing, a narrator tells passengers about the global economic and job impact of the port’s seaport functions, fun facts about the port and the history of the operation.

Officials say the harbor tours provide a unique vantage point because the port’s marine terminals can be viewed from the water. It’s also a great opportunity to take pictures of the San Francisco skyline, the Bay Bridge and the region’s magnificent sunsets.

Boarding is at the Oakland Jack London Terminal ferry dock at 10 Clay St. There are nearby parking lots that charge to park.

Online registration on the port’s website for the tour on July 12 starts at 8 p.m. Monday, July 1. The 230 tickets are often swiped up in a few minutes. It is not possible to register for the August, September or October tours until the first Monday of the month for that month’s tour. You must bring your printed or electronic ticket to the tour to be allowed on the boat.

A few more helpful tips

Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets are transferable, but you must update your registration information before tour day by emailing [email protected].

No outside food or drinks are allowed on the boat, but light snacks and beverages are sold on board.

The boats are wheelchair accessible on the main level, but not on the second or third decks. The bathrooms are all wheelchair accessible.

No pets other than leashed service dogs are allowed on the boat. Comfort animals are not allowed on the tours.

Multi-million dollar ‘Mega Dock’ opens at Charleston Safe Harbor Marina

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A recent addition to downtown Charleston will pave a new way for supporting maritime in the Lowcountry and beyond.

Safe Harbor Marina has opened a concrete dock, named “Mega Dock” beside the normal marina port. General manager David Isom describes the decade-long project as “one of the largest floating concrete fuel docks in the world,” costing around $30-40 million to complete.

“One-stop-shop. They take fuel, get provisions from the grocery store, shop downtown, don’t bring any cars with them. They get back on their boat and leave the next day, a whole other group moves in,” Isom says.

Isom explains visiting larger boats and yachts will send tax dollars back to Lowcountry agencies. He adds the dock itself could hold up to an estimate of 20-30 larger vessels at a time.
