The Driving Range was intended to replace the existing shooting bays at the Dubai Creek Yacht and Golf Club, and transform the experience to a world class golfing experience.
The 3,459 sqm golfing destination included a driving range with 48 golfing bays spread over two floors, professional swing studios, a fine dining restaurant, retail shops, multipurpose events hall, board room, and restrooms. The overarching shading structure was designed to make a modern statement of the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club identity, while responding to the UAE’s heritage.
The Project Concept, 3D Renders, Schematic drawings and Detailed Design was completed in four months

The Championship Course Dubai Creek
The Championship Course at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club is a par 71 course spanning 7,009 yards, providing an unforgettable journey from the first tee to the 18th green. Since its opening in 1993, this course has become a cornerstone of UAE golf, playing a crucial role in the nation’s golfing history and enhancing its reputation as a premier golf destination.
The meticulously maintained fairways feature undulating terrain, marked by mounds, date and palm trees, and often bordered by water hazards. Besides the Creek, which influences play on at least four holes, several artificial lakes enhance the beauty and challenge of various other holes. This prestigious course has hosted numerous esteemed tournaments, including the 2024 DP World Tour’s Dubai Invitational, cementing its status on the global stage. Its design ensures a challenging yet rewarding experience for golfers of all skill levels.
The Championship Course sets up for an exciting conclusion with its two par 4 closing holes, where strategic play is essential amidst the Creek guarding the left side and water hazards and bunkers on the right.
The Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club remains a symbol of the UAE's rich golfing heritage, offering an unforgettable experience that combines tradition, challenge, and beauty in every round.

Creek Course Hole 1
- Stroke Index 12
Not an easy start! A long and straight drive is required if you wish to have a clear view of the green with your second shot. A sandy waste on the right and two bunkers on the left make the opening tee shot quite a test. The green is well protected too, with sand left and right, and the undulating green demands accurate club selection if you hope to have a realistic chance for a birdie.
Creek Course Hole 2
- Stroke Index 4
And you thought the opening tee shot was tough? From the back tee this is possibly the most difficult tee shot on the course, with only a relatively small area of fairway to aim at from the tee. Water is 'everywhere' left, however two sand traps down the right side are an incentive not to play too safe. If you have found the rolling fairway, then the second shot must be struck solidly to cross the lake that has swept in from the left side.
You have to be positive here to get through this hole with your scorecard unscathed!
Creek Course Hole 3
- Stroke Index 14
The overhead drawing of this hole makes it look relatively straight forward, with the yardage belying its difficulty. No water to deal with, but some deep bunkers down the left side of the fairway and again around the green ensure that only well struck shots will be rewarded. If you do miss the green with your approach, be prepared for a testing chip/pitch as the putting surface falls away drastically at the back and sides.
Creek Course Hole 4
- Stroke Index 8
The only par 5 on the front nine should offer a good birdie chance for the longer hitters. However if the prevailing wind is blowing with any strength, then this hole will be no push-over. Favour the left side of the fairway to ensure you avoid the bunkers down the right side, but take care with your second and third shots here as this hole features a very narrow green and a huge bunker down the left side that will devour any slight mis-hits.
Creek Course Hole 5
- Stroke Index 1812
The first of the par 3's and it is a beauty. Not overly long, but dependant on the pin location, a par may be hard to achieve. The Creek lurks ominously at the back of the green, but don't be fooled - to reach the putting surface you must take enough club to carry the large sand trap eating into the front left of the green. Have a close look at the pin location here, because if you hit your ball to the wrong part of the green, you will do well to take only two putts!
Creek Course Hole 6
- Stroke Index 6
The feature hole on the front nine. The gents medal and regular play tees are located on a 'floating' tee, some ten metres out into the Creek. You really do feel isolated out there as you prepare to strike your ball back on to the mainland. Look out too for the three level water feature down the left side, which will usually have to be crossed with the approach shot unless you are playing conservatively. A gorgeous hole that requires a confident mind and relaxed swing.
Creek Course Hole 7
- Stroke Index 2
The longest par 4 on the golf course. The prevailing wind should be helping but, if not, it will require two mighty hits to reach the green in regulation figures from the back tees. A gentle dog-leg, those that can draw the ball right to left will have the advantage here. Water is lurking down the left for a mis-hit second shot, however it is not really in play and sand is likely to be the result for most loose approaches.
Creek Course Hole 8
- Stroke Index 16
The longest par 3 on the course from the back tees. A huge expanse of water protects the green and the pin location should dictate your strategy. Only the bravest player will be trying to get close if the flag is in the back left portion of the green. Middle of the putting surface is a good play here.
Try to make your par and move on!
Creek Course Hole 9
- Stroke Index 10
No water here, but the ninth is a favourite for many golfers. It should not play overly long, but a well positioned tee shot is critical. A soft fade down the left will avoid the bunkers down the right side and give you a clear view for the slightly uphill approach shot. The green has two levels and if you put your ball in the wrong area of the putting surface, your first putt will be a real challenge. Accurate club selection on this hole is a must.
Creek Course Hole 10
- Stroke Index 5
The longer hitter may try to get home in two shots here if the wind is favourable and they find the left centre of the fairway with their tee shot. There is water all the way down the right side of this hole and plenty of sand too around the front of the green. Most will try to lay up with their second shot to leave a mid to short iron approach. A strong par 5 this one.
Creek Course Hole 11
- Stroke Index 13
Two fairly deep bunkers placed strategically on the left side of the fairway at driving distance, make this left to right dog-leg a hole that should favour a left to right ball flight from the tee. An 'island' of trees located in the sandy waste area short and right of the green will make the approach from the sandy waste area very difficult, so try to keep your tee shot as far left as possible. Be careful around the green too, as there are some sharp run-off areas and an imaginative short game may be needed if you miss the green.
Creek Course Hole 12
- Stroke Index 1
A very long and testing hole. There is no water, not much sand, but 459 yards of relatively straight golf hole to be covered and we still have it graded as stroke index one. There is a slight incline up to the putting surface, so take enough club with your approach shot. You will need two well struck shots here to make a regulation par.
Creek Course Hole 13
- Stroke Index 7
Arguably the members favorite par 5. A well-struck tee shot will get over the rise in the fairway and reward you with potentially another 30 to 40 yards of roll. However, this exposes you to the decision to lay up or go for the green. The water surrounding this island green is not immediately obvious from the fairway, tempting you into going for it in two. However, the lay-up area is generous and leaves you with a short flick with a wedge onto the large two tiered green sloping from back to front.
Creek Course Hole 14
- Stroke Index 15
A tricky par 3. Water lurks at the front and right side, so any sort of tail on your ball flight is likely to result in a watery grave. This hole is usually played into the wind, so make sure you have enough club in your hand before you play. A bail-out left is likely to find one of three small, but relatively deep bunkers. A potential 'disaster hole' that will ruin many scorecards.
Creek Course Hole 15
- Stroke Index 11
A fairly gentle hole this one, that moves softly from left to right. No water and only a little sand to contend with but nevertheless it requires concentration and respect to get your par here, with the undulating green offering many different challenges. Keep your drive down the left side to ensure a clear view of the green and a level stance for your approach.
Creek Course Hole 16
- Stroke Index 17
The last of the par 3's. A very undulating green awaits at the end of this hole, which is usually played in a cross-wind. Most players come up short here, so again choose enough club to reach your intended target. If the wind is blowing, aim right and allow for the wind to coax the ball back on target. Again, no water to worry about so commit to your shot!
Creek Course Hole 17
- Stroke Index 9
This is arguably the start of the finest two consecutive finishing holes in the region. The 17th is not overly long, but the salty Creek is only a few feet off the fairway on the left side and there is no real space to play safe to with the driver up the right side. For the big hitters, a long iron towards the bunker on the right is a sensible play. From there, a mid to short iron will be required to find the slightly elevated green, but don't pull your approach left as a large bunker awaits and beyond that the watery doom of the Creek. A beautiful hole.
Creek Course Hole 18
- Stroke Index 3
When the wind is blowing, this is probably the hardest hole on the course. From the tee you have the Creek on the left, a large water hazard on the right and bunkers to contend with. If you manage to find the fairway with your tee-shot, you then have to carry another expanse of water with your second if you are to find the green in two shots. A wonderful final hole that will always guarantee an exciting finish to your round.

Dubai Creek Golf Club
Recommended
Some iconic holes and top-notch facilities make this a must-play course.
Located just 15 minutes from downtown Dubai, Dubai Creek Golf Club is an award-winning 18-hole championship golf course that ranks as one of the best in Dubai. The par-71 course has been laid out beautifully, with well-placed bunkers, man-made lakes and the Creek all making you work to score well. The fairways, attractively lined with coconut trees and dates, are in impeccable condition, and the greens run as fast and true as you would expect from one of Dubai's top courses.
There are challenges right from the off at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. The first is a long-par-4 dogleg left with a massive bunker running up the right hand side and more sand dissuading any attempt to cut the corner.
The second features one of the toughest tee shots on the course, playing to a narrow fairway with water ready to ensnare anything that's either short, left or long, and bunkers in play if you go too far right. With your approach requiring a water carry to a green guarded by a massive bunker to the left, this isn't a hole for the faint of heart.
The 6th is one of the most iconic holes in the Middle East, a par-4 that plays from a unique floating tee box that makes for an exceptionally daunting drive. With the creek to the right and more water some 240 yards down the fairway on the left, the main goal is to keep your ball dry, ideally by finding the left hand side of the fairway. From there, you'll be faced with a tricky approach over water, as the hole doglegs to the left around a picturesque lake to a contoured green mercifully unprotected by bunkers.
While the 18th isn't technically the hardest hole on the course, it's been ruining scorecards since the course opened for play in 1989. A long par-4 that usually plays into the wind, it features another nervy tee shot with water on both sides. Getting good distance on your drive is key, because you don't want to be hitting close to 200 yards into the wind on your approach to the two-tier green protected by bunkers on the left and water wrapping around the front and right. Often, the sensible play is to treat this hole like a par 5, but it's hard to resist taking on the challenge of finding the putting surface in regulation.
Beyond the main 18-hole championship golf course at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, there's a par-3 course and a driving range, both floodlit and built to the highest standards. The service and the welcome that’s on offer at the strikingly impressive clubhouse make you feel as though you've walked through the doors of a palace. There's everything you would expect, including two pro shops and multiple restaurants catering for all tastes.
Overall, Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club is a must-play on any golf holiday in Dubai.

Dubai Creek Golf Club
Dubai Creek Golf Club is located just a few minutes drive from the Dubai International Airport making the course and the resort perfectly located to enjoy your Dubai golfing holiday.
The course boasts some of the most amazing facilities and together with the Yacht club provides stunning scenery and top class facilities.
The service and the welcome that you receive as you arrive immediately makes you feel as though you have walked through the doors of a Palace. The clubhouse offers all the required services and more, the cuisine is second to none and compliments the golf course absolutely perfectly.
The views from the golf course are without doubt spectacular, overlooking both the sea and the marina, the course also provides views of the unbelievably beautiful and ever changing landscape of the amazing city of Dubai.
Dubai Creek boasts both an 18 hole championship golf course, a par 3 course and a driving range, all built to the highest of standards. The par 3 course and the fantastic driving range are both floodlit giving visitors to Dubai the ultimate golfing experience.
The course with its coconut trees and date palms lining the meticulous fairways give an air of the tropics. Throughout the entire course you will find perfectly manicured greens and fairways creating the experience that you would expect from one of Dubai´s top locations.
The par 71 course has been laid out beautifully, making use of the Creek that comes into on four holes, coupled with well-placed bunkers and various man-made lakes which come into play on various holes.
The start of the course is tough with the first requiring accuracy from the tee, but it is the second that truly tests your ability from the tee. From the back tee it has to be the toughest tee shot on the course. Water is left all the way along the hole, but play too safe and you will find the bunkers to the right. The lake then comes into play for the second shot as well as it cuts in front on the green requiring a well struck approach.
One of the most memorable holes on the golf course has to be the par 5, 13th. From the tee you can see the fairway which s protected by trees and bunkers. A long drive will get you over the rise in the fairway and propel the ball forward by a few extra yards. These extra yards could well give you the chance of going for the green in two. But beware; what is not apparent is the island green which sits in the centre of the lake.
The 18th is a superb finishing hole and if the wind is blowing it probably becomes the hardest hole on the golf course. On the left the Creek, to the right a large bunker and water make the tee shot important. The second shot is no easier. An approach that has to be played over the water that is short and right of the green increases the tension for the final approach of the game. Left the green is protected by 3 bunkers, making an up and down for those not brave enough a real challenge.
This is a fantastic jewel in the Dubai region and should be considered for any holiday to the UAE and makes our list of Best Golf Courses in Dubai .

The course was designed during Dubai’s construction boom and everything about the course points towards the might of man with a machine. Expect a fun-filled 18-holes with manufactured landscapes and the backdrop of one of the greatest cities of the modern era.

The Clubhouse is also home to the Yacht Club and is a prominent place for people to meet without playing golf. Characteristics.
The par 71 course that measures 6,857 yards is a memorable journey from the first tee to the 18th green. The superbly manicured fairways are undulating, demarcated by mounds, date and palm trees, and most other times by water. Apart from the Creek, which comes into play on at least four holes, several artificial lakes add to the beauty and difficulty of various other holes.
The presence of multiple tees ensures that golfers of all calibres enjoy their day out at the course. While length of the tee helps, the premium is certainly on accuracy, especially with the approach shots as most of the greens are multi-tiered with subtle borrows.
The Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club course sets up for a thrilling finale to a round with its two par 4 closing holes. The 17th and 18th have the Creek guarding the entire left side of the fairway. While the 17th can still be conquered with some smart play, the 18th requires mandatory cerebral involvement on every shot. There is water on the left and a long bunker on the right, beyond which is water again. A good drive will still leave you with a long iron into the tiered and sloping green, which is guarded at the front and right by a body of water.

Fabulous course
5.0 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013
We played the course in march 2013. Fantastic overall impression. Very kind staff at reception, first marshall that was not just complaining and looking to spped up people but rather asking if everything is ok and if we were enjoying the course. Fairways were very well maintained but tough greens (more our problem than the course!), beautiful layout, especially hole 17 and 18 are a stunning finish. Overall, definitively a must do if you play in dubai.

Bad luck with the greens
4.0 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2024
Played on January 23rd, 2024, very varied course. A bit noisy as car noise could be heard all around. Fareways and bunkers in perfect condition. It was unfortunate that day that the greens had just been sanded, making it very difficult to control the speed of the putts.

Gulf on the river in the old part of Dubai
5.0 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2023
Played on 3/23/23. Probably the oldest golf club in Dubai, with its 18 holes, is very close to the old center of Dubai and, as the name suggests, directly on the Creek within a resort complex. At least on the first 9 you play past some villas. In contrast to some other golf resorts in Dubai, however, everything is ready here and there is no construction noise. However, you play on lanes 2.3, 4 and 14.15 along the E11 motorway, which you can clearly hear and see. But the course makes up for it with its great design and the wonderful location on the water as well as the view of the Burj Khalifa, for example. In general, water is a defining design feature. At lane 2 it starts with plenty of water hazards. At hole 6 you tee off from a pontoon built into the river, it continues with an island green and hole 18 has the river on the left and a very large lake on the right. All this when it's windy and you should have a few extra balls in your bag. The rough is also so dense that when you lie in it you sometimes have to stand right over your ball to even find it. Strategic play is the order of the day, although the mostly wide fairways tempt you to use the driver. The condition was excellent. The bunkers are finely avenged and the greens are top and fast. Another highlight is the striking modern clubhouse in the shape of a traditional sailing boat. Everything at its finest, including the changing rooms. However, there is only one refreshment station on the loop, but someone always comes by with the mobile snack bar. The staff are all very friendly. The game was busy on a Thursday morning but not overcrowded. Often there is a cannon start twice a day, but there are also days with normal start times. We booked the green fee via the VIYA app and paid €169 per player including cart with GPS. This makes the club one of the more expensive in Dubai, but it's worth it. On the round you can tap water at every second lane, there are no longer any plastic water bottles. Overall it was fun to play here and when it's windy it's an ultimate challenge.
