The largest superyachts attending the Miami International Boat Show 2024

From 14 to 18 February, the Miami International Boat Show will be hosting brokers, owners and yachting enthusiasts across six locations – with a staggering 100,000+ visitors expected to attend. BOAT takes a closer look at the largest superyachts making an appearance, starting with the 85-metre Victorious ...

Victorious – 85m

Builder : AKYACHT Year : 2021 Designer : Michael Leach Design , Marco Yachts , H2 Yacht Design

A superyacht more than 14 years in the making , Victorious is an explorer yacht finished to a luxury standard – a project that Leach described as "really refreshing". Noteworthy features include a touch-and-go helipad, an observation lounge with a baby grand piano, a wood-burning marble fireplace, wine cellar and humidor for enjoying a cigar on the terrace.

Victorious is asking €120,000,000 with Barnes Yachting.

Laurel - 73.2m

Builder : Delta Marine Year : 2006 Designer : Donald Starkey , Delta Design

Laurel was delivered as the flagship of this Seattle-based yard and the largest yacht built in the US in 75 years. Accommodation is across seven cabins, including a master cabin with two private terraces and a convertible cabin that can be used as a sauna room. On deck, she features a fully-equipped gym, with a library that converts into a private cinema. An elevator provides wheelchair access to all guest decks, while an ultra-modern stabilisation system eases roll motion effect, ensuring onboard comfort.

Laurel is asking $69,500,000 with IYC.

Marguerite – 60.9m

Builder : Lürssen Year : 2004 Designer : Winch Design , Espen Øino International , Moffit Design

Marguerite was built under the supervision of the Moran new construction team, with a design brief that requested a private owner’s area, professional dive centre, hefty tender storage and the ability to cruise for thirty days at a time. The owner's cabin is a particular highlight, spanning two decks and designed with an observation lounge, access to a private foredeck and a floating staircase that leads to an upper deck study. The yacht benefitted from a full interior refit after a change in ownership at the end of 2021.

Marguerite is asking $44,900,000 with Moran Yacht & Ship.

Liberty - 57m

Builder : Trinity Yachts Year : 2012 Designer : Geoff Van Aller , Evan K. Marshall

Designed for entertaining, Liberty boasts a dance floor, a 12-person formal dining area and a full service bar in the main saloon. Her sundeck is equally well-equipped for socialising with its large Jacuzzi and open sunbathing area, made complete with four chaise lounges. A semi-enclosed bar with a fridge, icemaker and liquid propane gas barbecue can be found aft, all shaded under a hard top. Liberty was repainted in 2020 and her 10-year survey was completed in 2022.

Liberty is asking $24,750,000 with IYC.

Sapphire – 50.5m

Builder : Trinity Year : 2009 Designer : Geoff Van Aller , James McFarlane

Sapphire 's "flexible" accommodation is a highlight, able to sleep up to 20 guests in seven cabins – including an owner's cabin with large bathtub and sliding glass doors aft. A main deck "recreational room" may also be converted into a VIP cabin or otherwise function as an entertainment space. Her sundeck sports more lounging space, a Jacuzzi, a bar and an al fresco dining table, perfect for enjoying the views while exploring.

Sapphire is asking $17,500,000 with Superyacht Sales & Charter.

Hospitality - 50m

Builder : Westport Year : 2011 Designers : Donald Starkey , William Garden

Accommodation on Hospitality is across seven cabins, including an owner's cabin that is, unusually, located on the bridge deck and comes with a private balcony. She has had a number of refits, most recently in 2021, which the broker said involved enhancements to her machinery, technical spaces, interior and exterior. Hospitality is described as "heli-capable with touch-and-go-capabilities" and a proven "charter platform", with highlights that include a sundeck Jacuzzi, barbecue and 4,000 nautical mile range.

Hospitality is asking $29,750,000 with IYC.

Book Ends - 49.9m

Builder : Heesen Year : 2022 Designers : Omega Architects , Van Oossanen Naval Architects , Cristiano Gatto Design

Book Ends ' sporty exterior includes a sharply tapered bow, distinctive bootstripe, and arching aft decks. Oversized windows allow natural light to filter through, while the "innovative" saloon design sees curved bulkheads separating the lounge and dining areas and a main stairwell with atriums on all three levels. She accommodates 12 guests in five cabins, including a full-beam (nine-metre) owner's cabin forward on the main deck.

Book Ends is asking €42,000,000 with Ocean Independence.

Focus - 46.6m

Builder : North American Yachts Year : 2002 Designers : Luiz De Basto , Sergio Cutolo , Ralph Lauren Home

Delivered to a disabled client, Focus has wheelchair access throughout including an elevator that services all decks. Accommodation is across five cabins, with its bridge deck master cabin benefitting from a his and hers en suite and a private deck. Her versatile sun deck is also a highlight, with a 270-degree observation lounge forward and a Jacuzzi and sun loungers aft. Other highlights include a wet bar, games table, entertainment centre and formal dining area.

Focus is asking $11,650,000 with Superyacht Sales & Charter.

Bouchon - 45.7m

Builder : Trinity Yachts Year : 2002 Designers : Trinity Yachts, Carol Williamson

Designed in house, Bouchon has recently undergone comprehensive refits including a full exterior repaint completed in 2021. Her main deck saloon leads to a formal dining room forward and her skylounge has a spacious but more informal dining space, along with a sit-up bar. The broker described the interior refits as having "enhanced her allure, ensuring contemporary comfort, without compromising her classic charm".

Bouchon is asking $14,900,000 with Ocean Independence.

Stealth - 45.7m

Builder : Palmer Johnson Year : 2010 Designers : Nuvolari Lenard , Donald L. Blount

Stealth 's tapered, racy profile is backed up by a powerful deep V planing hull that enables her to reach a maximum speed of 27 knots. Accommodation is across five cabins, including a main deck owner's suite with a private study. Her folding balconies and full-height windows make for light and airy interiors, while actual al fresco dining is possible up top, alongside a bar, Jacuzzi and sunpads.

Stealth is asking $13,999,000 with IYC.

True Love - 45.7m

Builder : Trinity Yachts Year : 2003 Designers : Trinity Yachts, Claudette Bonville

According to the broker, True Love is in "turnkey condition" following a comprehensive 2023 refit, with brand-new generators, "top-end" engine rebuilds and updated electronics. Accommodation is across five cabins, including a full-beam owner's cabin. Highlights include ample al fresco dining and a selection of water toys, including a water slide, two Jet Skis and a five-metre tender.

True Love is asking $14,600,000 with IYC.

Just Enough - 42.9m

Builder : Ares Custom Yachts Year : 2012 Designers : Ares Custom Yachts, Broward Marine

Just Enough offers accommodation for 11 guests across five cabins, including a full-beam master cabin with a private office and marble en suite bathroom on the main deck. The broker suggested that Just Enough is "perfect for entertaining both indoors and out" thanks to her two bars (on the skylounge and upper deck), spacious Jacuzzi, formal dining room and al fresco dining areas. She benefitted from refits in 2018 and 2023.

Just Enough is asking $7,995,000 with IYC.

All Inn - 39.6m

Builder : Westport Year : 2008 Designers : Gregory C. Marshall & WP , Westport Design

Outdoor space is All Inn 's standout feature. The bridge deck features L-shaped seating and a hot tub, the flybridge has sunpads, a barbecue grill and two umbrellas while a sunken private seating area can be found on the bow. Her current owners own a textile company specialising in high-end outdoor fabrics and furniture and have incorporated their products throughout. Tailored for North American clientele, her two-metre draught enables easy island hopping in the Bahamas, with the yacht having cruised extensively both in the Caribbean and Alaska.

All Inn is asking $11,450,000 with Fraser.

Ariadne - 37.8m

Builder : Breaux Bay Craft Year : 1997 Designers : Breaux Bay Craft

In 2018, an extensive, multi-million dollar refit by Derecktor Shipyard transformed the 45-year-old Ariadne . Highlights include a Jacuzzi bath in the master cabin, a three-level beach club and a sociable sundeck with a spa tub, a wet bar, cocktail areas and a barbecue. Inspired by the transatlantic ocean liners of the 1930s, her interiors incorporate original furnishings and service items from classic Atlantic liners, including the SS Normandie and RMS Queen Mary.

Ariadne is to be auctioned at Boathouse Auctions on 22 Feburary, with a reserve price of $2,000,000.

Grateful – 34.4m

Builder : Benetti Year : 2023 Designers : RWD , Pierluigi Ausonio , Bonetti/Kozerski

Grateful is the newest Oasis 34M available for sale, with close to €2,000,000 in upgrades "assuring she is very well outfitted" according to her broker. The model's trademark is her Oasis Deck which replaces the traditional beach club with a tiered, open-air sun lounge. Features include drop down balconies, an integrated glass-front dip pool and an unobstructed 270-degree view off the stern (even from the main deck saloon). Side bulwarks fold out to enlarge the deck area to 76 square metres, where a parasol can provide a degree of shade.

Grateful is asking $15,900,000 with Fraser.

Meet Victorious, the Largest Yacht in Miami

' src=

If you’re in Miami, you may want to take a look at Victorious , at 278 feet and 11 inches long the largest boat in the boat show there. It’s over at the superyacht show on Watson Island, where tickets go for $135, but it takes up so much waterfront you can see it easily from Miami.

If you have to ask, you can’t afford it, but Victorious is for sale for $129 million. (It’s been on the charter market for $950,000 a week.)

Even as one of the world’s largest superyacht, Victorious is a bit over the top. It has a helipad on the foredeck that doubles as a dance floor, three swimming pools, an owner’s suite on the bridge deck with its own Jacuzzi and sun lounges, a gym, wellness center, wine cellar, two wood-burning fireplaces, a beauty salon, several bars, a beach club, and a small armada of tenders that includes a custom 41-foot aluminum cat and a 38-foot Fountain.

largest yacht miami

The accommodations include room for 24 guests in 12 staterooms, but the best room in the house seems to be the sky lounge up top, an observation lounge with wraparound views, a baby grand piano, a formal dining room and a smaller lounge with a bar.

All this is powered by twin 1,475-hp Cats, delivering a top speed of 17 knots. The yacht has an amazing range of 14,000 nm at 13 knots (fuel capacity: 69,847 gallons).

And Victorious comes with an unusual back story. It started out at Marco Yachts in Chile under the name Gin Tonic II , but the owner ran out of money. Graeme Hunt bought it unfinished and had it towed to New Zealand. Then Vural Ak, a Turkish entrepreneur who owns the racetrack for the Turkish Formula 1 Grand Prix, bought it half completed from Hunt in 2016 and had it towed to Turkey. The Turkish yard Akyacht finally launched it in 2021; it won the prize for Motor Yacht Over 80 Meters at The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2022.

9 Must-See Yachts Debuting at the Miami International Boat Show

From a $355-million gigayacht, the largest-ever at a north american show, to a record-breaking electric runabout, this year's mibs has something for every mariner..

The Miami International Boat Show

Five days, six separate locations and more than 1,000 boats of all shapes and sizes on display—the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show is on track to live up to its claim of being the largest boat and yacht show in the world. The show this year will have more available products, largely because the red-hot Covid market from last year has cooled.

“The manufacturers have caught up with product,” Andrew Doole, president of the US Boat Shows for Informa, told Robb Report . “As a result, we’ll see many new boats making their debuts in the convention center and also exceptional superyachts at Island Gardens.”

The show will kick off next Wednesday for its five-day run. Attendance at another recent Informa boat show was higher than last year, says Doole, giving him optimism that Miami will also outperform 2022.

Here are six newcomers, and two gigayachts new to the brokerage market, that promise to be showstoppers.

Lürssen ‘Ahpo’

largest yacht miami

Lürssen’s 378-foot Ahpo will be the largest gigayacht ever at any North American boat show. Delivered to its owner last year, but now up for sale for $355 million, the yacht has a wonderland interior that includes Asian-influenced designs, including silk wallpaper, hand embroidery and elaborate inlays of flying flamingoes, ginkgo leaves and red maple trees. Even the onboard IMAX Dolby cinema has twinkling LED stars in the ceiling. Designer Nuvolari Lenard also created a dedicated space catering to the multigenerational family, with a split-level suite for the owners, adjoining cabins for their children and parents and total accommodations for up to 16 guests. The mosaic-tiled spa sits at the heart of its outstanding wellness area, but also the yacht also has four pools of various sizes and a standout beach club. It will be moored in the Island Gardens marina.

Lürssen ‘Kismet’

largest yacht miami

Another superstar of this year’s Miami boat show is the spectacular 312-foot Lürssen-built megayacht, Kismet . Owned by Pakistani-American billionaire and sports lover Shahid Khan – he owns both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Britain’s Fulham soccer club – the yacht will be open for tours to a highly select few at the show’s SuperYacht Miami location. With a brand-new Lürssen, currently codenamed Project JAG and designed by Nuvolari Lenard, due to be completed for Mr. Khan later this year, Kismet is reportedly up for grabs for an eye-watering $181 million.

Lürssen Marguerite

largest yacht miami

Delivered in 2004, the 200-foot Marguerite (ex. Avanti, Aurora, Phoenix) was designed by Andrew Winch, with a classic interior and art-deco interior by Winch and Dawn Moffitt Design Inc. The superyacht, built by German yard Lürssen, was designed as a true oceangoing vessel, having the ability to be self-sufficient for 30 days. Beyond that, the owners also mandated that it be comfortable in all sea states. It’s listed for $48 million.

Absolute 52 Fly

largest yacht miami

In urban slang, the word Fly tends to mean cool, sexy, smart or stylish. That kind of describes to a tee Italian builder Absolute Yachts’ brand new 52 Fly flybridge cruiser making its world premiere in the Magic City. With its extensive hull and superstructure glazing—there’s almost as much glass as fiberglass—the interior spaces are flooded with light. And talking of interior, this new 52—bow to stern it’s actually 54 feet—shakes things up by putting its huge master suite in the bow with the VIP amidships. Power comes from a pair of 590 hp Volvo D8 diesels.

Tiara EX 60

largest yacht miami

Holland, Michigan-based Tiara Yachts just might have a new motto: “Go big, or go home”. At the Miami show they’re pulling the wraps off a brand new flagship—the 60-foot EX 60—which is the biggest, most luxurious Tiara to date. And with a sticker that starts at around $3.7 million, it’s also the priciest. But this newest EX has a lot to offer, including its major focus on outdoor space. If that stern cockpit wasn’t wide enough at 16 feet 11 inches, power-lowering side terraces expand the area to an impressive 20 feet six inches. Power is provided by twin 1350 Volvo D13 diesels that give an impressive 46 mph top speed.

Grady-White 281 Coastal Explorer

largest yacht miami

When fishing boat powerhouse Grady-White unveils a new boat, anglers the world over pay attention. For the Miami show, the 64-year-old Greenville, NC builder is unveiling its brand new 28-foot 281 Coastal Explorer center console. Designed for both inshore skinny waters as well as offshore swells, the 281 features Grady’s proven SeaV2 wave-cleaving deep-vee hull design. Fisherman-friendly features include a battle-ready casting deck in the bow with low gunwales, and an electric fold-down terrace on the portside of the helm for hauling in that giant grouper. Standard power is a single 425 hp Yamaha outboard, with the option of twin 300s.

largest yacht miami

Call it a true multi-national. Hylas Yachts’ new M49 is being built in Taiwan from a design by a New Zealand studio, to compete in the booming market for New England-style Down East cruisers. Big brother to the highly-successful Hylas M44, this salty 48-footer blends speedy performance—as in a 36 mph top speed—with exceptional rough-weather, offshore capability. Inside, the M49 features a comfy saloon under that big-windowed hardtop, with a spacious open rear “lounge” for entertaining. Trusty 370 hp Yanmar diesels do the powering. Hylas had hoped to debut the M49 two years ago, but Covid stalled the plan. Now, after a few improvements, it’s finally getting its show premiere.

Voltari 260

largest yacht miami

Think of it as proving a point. Typically, this new, Canadian-built, all-electric Voltari 260, with its high-torque, 700 hp motor, can slice through waves at a feisty 60 mph. But to set a record for the longest overseas distance for an electric “vehicle” completed on a single charge, the $450,000 Voltari had to dial things back. To a more leisurely 5 mph. That is how this stealthy-looking, carbon-fiber runabout recently ran from Key Largo, Florida across the turbulent Gulf Stream to Bimini in the Bahamas—91 miles door to door—in under 20 hours. It’ll be back in full performance mode for its Miami show debut as a poster child for electromobility on the water.

Leopard 40PC

largest yacht miami

South Africa’s Leopard Catamarans has a hard-to-resist “try before you buy” offer on its brand new Leopard 40PC power cat that’s making its global debut in Miami. Thanks to close ties with The Moorings charter company, potential buyers can simply rent one, for a week, maybe two, maybe longer. And it should be a blast. With the option of twin 370 hp diesels, the 40PC—or Moorings 403 PC as the charter version is called—can hit a top speed of 23 mph. This new kid brother to Leopard’s bigger 46 PC and 53 PC models has space for six in three cabins and the largest flybridge ever seen on a 40-foot power cat.

Top Ten Largest Yachts in the World 2024

  • Top Ten Largest Yachts in…

Luxury and opulence take a concrete form when discussing the world’s largest yachts. With helipads, spas, onboard swimming pools, cinemas, and more, the world’s largest yachts can easily outshine your glamorous five-star hotels. But all of these yachts are more than just an emblem of wealth; these vessels are feats in expert engineering and design. Only a select few shipyards, designers, and naval architects worldwide can take up the challenge of this magnitude.

Now that we are here let’s look at some of the largest yachts of 2024. Even though the largest yacht is more accurately determined by its displacement and volume, today, we will be looking at the top ten largest vessels by length.

10. El Mahrousa We start the list with a name that has been here for more than a century. Launched in 1865, the Samuda Brothers originally built this 145.72 meter-long yacht for Khedive Ismail, the Ottoman governor of Egypt. The name El Mahrousa roughly translates to “The Protected,” but she was also briefly called El Horreya (translated to the word “Freedom”). Her external features were designed by renowned British naval architect Sir Oliver Lang who had previously created some of the finest British navy ships in the 19th century. This Egyptian presidential yacht has a rich history and has undergone several refurbishments. It is one of the oldest active superyachts and is tended for by the Egyptian navy. She rarely leaves her home berth in Alexandria apart from special occasions two to three times each year. Regarding her specs, her top speed is 16 knots, and her cruising speed is around 10 knots. She obtains her power from three Parsons steam turbine engines, a gross tonnage of 4560.0 GT, and a 12.98 m beam. This vessel was also the first ship ever to cross the Suez Canal back in 1869 and has now been transformed into a naval training ship for the Egyptian government. 9. A+ Formerly known as Topaz, A+ was launched by Lürssen in 2012, a titan in the yacht building industry at an incredible 147.25 meters in length. This yacht belongs to Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan, Emirati royalty, deputy prime minister of the UAE, and the Manchester City Football Club owner. She has some of the most exquisite Disdale exterior designs and magnificent interiors crafted by the famed Tim Heywood Design. She can also accommodate up to 62 guests and 79 crew members in her spacious interiors. It is also reported that A+ took about four years and more than £400 million to be built. Her top speed is 22.9 knots, and she has a cruising speed of 19.5 knots, which is impressive considering her size. Her power comes from four MTU diesel engines with a gross tonnage of 12500.0 GT and a 21.5 m beam. Like most yachts owned by royals, not much is disclosed to the public apart from the primary features, but this yacht has earned its spot on the top ten list. 8. Al Said Another mega yacht from the Lürssen yard, Al Said, is a 155-meter motor yacht launched in 2008. Her stylish exterior was designed by Espen Øino International, while Redman Whitely Dixon crafted her magnificent interior. Formerly codenamed “Project Sunflower,” this work of art belongs to one of the richest men in the world, Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said of Oman, and was created as a replacement for a smaller mega yacht with the same name. This yacht also has a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure with a 5.20-meter draft and a beam of 24 meters. With the help of 2 MTU engines, she achieves a cruising speed of 22 knots and obtains a top speed of 25 knots. Even though not much is revealed regarding the yacht’s interior, she is known to accommodate up to 70 guests and 154 professional crew members. She features a concert room that can easily accommodate a 50-piece orchestra. 7. Dilbar Dilbar may not rank number one in length, but it is the largest by interior volume and gross tonnage. Formerly known as “Project Omar,” this yacht with a length of 156 meters was launched in 2016 from the yards of German builder Lurssen. This yacht obtained its name from Uzbekistan-born billionaire Alisher Usmanov’s late mother. Espen Øino International designed the yacht’s exterior, while her interior was developed by the Winch Design team, known for using rare and exclusive luxury materials. This yacht has also been dubbed one of the most intricate and challenging yachts ever built, both in terms of dimensions and technology. She has a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, can attain a top speed of approximately 22.5 knots and has features never seen before on a yacht. Some include a 25-meter swimming pool that retains an astonishing 180 m³ of water, an expansive garden, and two helipads. She also can accommodate up to 24 guests and a whopping 100 crew members. 6. Dubai Originally commissioned by Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei, this boat sits comfortably on the top ten largest yachts. This ambitious project took more than ten years to launch. Even though this yacht was launched by Platinum Yachts, it was initially a joint project between Blohm + Voss and Lurssen shipyards but was abandoned in 1998. The vessel now belongs to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai. This yacht has exceptional interiors, from bold colors and fine linen to intricate and detailed mosaic work. The showstopper of the entire yacht is the dramatic circular staircase that features glass stairs and changes colors. She also has a striking mosaic swimming pool, seven decks and multiple jacuzzis, discos, a submarine, and a helipad that accommodates 9.5 tonnes. This 162-meter yacht developed by Andrew Winch of Winch Design is powered by four MTU-20V diesel and has a speed of 25 knots, and has a displacement of 9,150 tonnes. 5. Eclipse Manufactured at the Blohm + Voss Hamburg shipyard in Germany, Eclipse made a splash in 2010. The construction of this 162.5-meter superyacht had been kept under wraps, increasing the excitement and speculations from international media and yacht enthusiasts alike. Created for Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, this yacht can accommodate 36 guests in 18 cabins and cater to 70 crew members. Although many details are still unknown regarding this yacht, we know that her exterior and interior features were developed by the London team at Terence Disdale Design. She is also filled with luxurious amenities, such as the two swimming pools, one of which is 16 meters long and with a feature of adjustable depth, allowing it to transform into a dance floor. It also includes an exterior fireplace, the ability to carry up to three helicopters, and more. With four MTU diesel engines, she has a top speed of 25 knots and an approximate cruising speed of 22 knots. 4. Fulk Al Salamah Custom created by Italian builder Mariotti Yachts in their Genoa shipyard, this 164-meter-long superyacht debuted in 2016. The Fulk Al Salmah remains shrouded in mystery as there is barely any information apart from the essential details. Owned by the Omani Royal family, this ship’s exterior was crafted by the renowned Studio de Jorio. She has a steel hull with a steel/aluminum superstructure and a deck made out of aluminum & teak. 3. Azzam Azzam has been one of the largest privately-owned superyachts since 2013. At an incredible length of 180.6 meters when Lurssen first introduced it, it creator of some of the largest luxury yachts in history. Under the guidance of engineer Mubarak Saad al Ahbabi, a world-class team worked on developing this magnificent project. The goal was to build a luxurious, large yacht that exuded the aura of timeless elegance and innovation. It should also be able to travel at full speed in warm and shallow waters without altering guests’ experience. Despite her size, she has an unprecedented top speed of around 31.5 knots because of the gas turbine engines that work at 94,000 horsepower. She was also built in merely three years, adding to the record of one of the quickest-built mega yachts. The yacht’s exterior design is a work of Nauta Design, while Christophe Leoni expertly designed the interiors. Azzam belongs to the Sheikh of the United Arab Emirates. Although many details remain under wraps, this superyacht is a milestone in yachting history. 2. REV This yacht will soon become one of the largest yachts in history, beating the previous holder of the number one position by merely two meters, standing at 182 meters. This yacht collaborates with Espen Øino and REV Ocean (Research Expedition Vessel), a not-for-profit organization established by Norwegian billionaire Kjell Inge Rokke. She was created keeping in mind the highest standards for fuel efficiency, pollution, and environmental impact. She is presently under construction at the Norwegian shipyard VARD and is scheduled for delivery in 2024. This yacht is no ordinary yacht as with a heat recovery system, sound and vibration reduction, diesel-electric engines, high tech incinerators, and a ballast water treatment system, this vessel plans on complying with IMO Polar Code, which requires a vessel to operate for 114 days in Arctic and Antarctic Condition autonomously. She is also powered by ultra-quiet hybrid propulsion and will have a top speed of 17 knots and an exceptional 21,120 nautical mile range. Although there has been much debate regarding classifying it as a superyacht, its initial purpose is to study the ocean. It is also available for charter for recreational purposes as it has space for 28 guests in its 18 cabins. 1. Somnio Seizing the number one spot is the world’s first ‘yacht-liner.’ Even though it will be launched in mid-2024, there is much excitement in the superyacht community. When launched, she will become one of the world’s largest superyachts, measuring an astounding 222m. Somnio is technically a combination of a superyacht, cruise ship, and residential home and is referred to as a ‘yacht liner. This vessel is to have 30 luxury private residences, all of which are invite-only, and the reported price of apartments reportedly costs at least $11.2 million. Scheduled to be delivered by Vard Søviknes in Norway, she is a part of Italy’s world-renowned Fincantieri Group. Even though we do not have much information, it is known that the exterior was solely created by Winch Design, whereas both Winch and Tillberg developed the interior.

32 Wild Guest Stars On Miami Vice

Musicians, magicians, wrestlers, and Barbra Streisand!

Julia Roberts with Don Johnson on Miami Vice

Showrunner Michael Mann had a clear vision for Miami Vice when it debuted on NBC in 1984. He wanted an action show about two "cool" vice cops that showcased both the beauty of South Florida and its seedy underbelly. The show was incredibly popular and influential over its five-season run, and it starred some up-and-coming actors who would one day be huge.

Miami Vice also crammed in an insane amount of wild cameos you'd never expect, most notably musicians, but also captains of industry, magicians, wrestlers, and comedians. Check out this incredible list that just scratches the surface!

Bruce Willis in a small role on Miami Vice

Bruce Willis

In the first season of Miami Vice, the show featured a young actor with no credits to his name, Bruce Willis . Willis played a gun runner in the episode, being pursued by Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas) and Crockett (Don Johnson). It's not crazy to say that without this role, Willis would've never landed Moonlighting and maybe never gone on to have the incredible career he had.

Gene Simmons on Miami Vice

Gene Simmons

Newton Windsor Blade, played by KISS bass player Gene Simmons, was a long-time criminal antagonist to Tubbs and Crockett. Since the mid-'80s weren't great for Kiss, it makes sense that the legendary rocker, known for his wild hair and very long tongue, would branch out into acting. He's not the best actor, but it's crazy seeing him on the show.

Captain Lou Albano on Miami Vice, playing a heavy

"Captain" Lou Albano And Afa Anoa'i

Professional wrestlers are pretty common to see on TV and "Captain" Lou Albano was also no stranger to TV, appearing in a Cyndi Lauper video in the '80s. Still, it's really fun to see Albano and fellow wrestler Afa Anoa'i playing henchmen to George Takai on Miami Vice in the show's third season.

Little Richard looking scary on Miami Vice

Little Richard

In the show's second season, Miami Vice really leaned into musicians as guest stars. One prime example is rock n' roll pioneer and real-life preacher Little Richard, who appeared in the episode "Out Where the Buses Don't Run," as a preacher on the beach. The episode also included up-and-coming actors Bruce McGill and David Strathairn in guest spots.

Penn Jillette, Philip Michael Thomas, and Don Johnson in Miami Vice

Penn Jillette

Penn Jillette, the talking half of the legendary magic duo Penn & Teller, has a few acting credits in his career, usually as himself. His first acting credit, however, was playing a New York City criminal on Miami Vice. It is one of the rare times he didn't appear with his partner Teller at his side.

Julia Roberts in Miami Vice

Julia Roberts

Even the biggest stars in the world have to start somewhere. Miami Vice was one of the places that helped launch careers, and there may be none bigger than Julia Roberts . Roberts starred in one episode, as an assistant to a crime lord in the season finale of Season 4. It was only her second credited role, and two years before Pretty Woman made her an icon .

G. Gordon Liddy on Miami Vice

G. Gordon Liddy

Perhaps the wildest guest star in Miami Vice history was former FBI agent and Watergate burglar G. Gordon Liddy. That's right, the ringleader of one of the most notorious political crimes of the 20th Century had a guest spot on the show. Liddy played a former colonel in the U.S. Army who, in a very meta way, was a great admirer of former President Nixon.

Barbra Streisand making a cameo on Miami Vice

Barbra Streisand

In a truly "what the heck?" moment, the legendary Barbra Streisand makes a literal walk-through cameo in the 18th episode of Season 4 of Miami Vice . She doesn't have a line, and it's a wide shot as Crockett and Tubbs get out of the car. They look twice at her, but she keeps walking. She was dating Don Johnson at the time, which explains why it happened, but still, it's wild.

Miles Davis in Miami Vice

Miles Davis

Jazz legend Miles Davis has exactly three credits in movies or TV that are not playing himself or a musician. One of them is Miami Vice. Davis played a criminal being investigated by the vice squad and with that awesome, gravelly voice, he is actually great in the role.

Teller with a mustache on Miami Vice

The quiet half of the magic duo Penn & Teller, Teller is a man of few words most of the time. When he appeared on Miami Vice – without his partner Penn Jillette – he had quite a few lines when he played a seedy lawyer in the fourth season episode, "Like a Hurricane." It's a rare opportunity to hear Teller speak on TV.

Musician Frank Zappa in Miami Vice

Frank Zappa

Musician extrodinaire Frank Zappa was a true iconoclast. You never really knew where the guy might show up. One might think that Zappa would see Miami Vice as beneath him, artistically, or too commercial, but that's what made him so great. He wanted everything to be absurd on some level and showing up to play a criminal on a yacht on a network TV is definitely absurd.

Sheena Easton on Miami Vice

Sheena Easton

Sheena Easton is definitely underappreciated these days. The two-time Grammy winner was huge in the '80s. Not only did she have a slew of hits, working with the likes of Nile Rogers, Prince, and Kenny Rogers, but she sang the theme song to a Bond movie for For Your Eyes Only, and appeared on multiple episodes of Miami Vice as Sonny Crockett's love interest.

Chris Rock and Philip Michael Thomas

It's almost hard to believe that Chris Rock's career stretches way back to the mid-1980s, but then you see him with a guest spot on Miami Vice in 1987. It's one of his very first roles, before New Jack City and his bit part in Beverly Hills Cop II , but it's a decent role for a young actor. He plays a records clerk who understands the early days of the internet.

Phil Collins on Miami Vice

Phil Collins

Not only did Phil Collins' music often appear in Miami Vice but the legendary drummer and singer also played a con man named...Phil in the second season of the show. Collins has played a few bit parts in movies over the years, but this was his biggest role as an actor.

Lee Iacocca on Miami Vice

Lee Iacocca

Miami Vice was so good at getting guest stars, they even landed a captain of industry. Lee Iacocca was the CEO of Chrysler in the '80s and as such, he was somewhat famous, especially for not being in the entertainment world. When you talk about bonkers guest stars, Iacocca has to be one of the nuttiest. He plays (uncredited) the city park commissioner in the finale of Season 2. Weird.

Willie Nelson on Miami Vice, holding a phone

Willie Nelson

There are few more iconic musicians in the world than Willie Nelson. With a career that stretches eight decades, Nelson has done it all, including guest starring on Miami Vice. Nelson got to play a retired Texas Ranger who worked with Crockett and Tubbs on a case in the third season of the show.

Eartha Kitt on Miami Vice

Eartha Kitt

Eartha Kitt is probably best known to TV audiences as one of the huge stars who appeared on the 1960s Batman show, where she played Catwoman in the third season. The actress, dancer, and singer, also made a guest spot in Miami Vice in the second season episode "Whatever Works."

Ted Nugent on Miami Vice

Rocker Ted Nugent is a polarizing figure. Known for his politics as much as his guitar shredding, he has thousands of fans and thousands of detractors. Like a lot of other musicians, he plays a bad guy in the second season of the show.

Annie Golden in Miami Vice

Annie Golden

Beloved actress Annie Golden started her career in show business in the 1970s as the lead singer of the punk band The Shirts , who were part of the scene at the legendary CBGB's. Golden has gone on to star on stage and screen, including a recurring role in a couple of episodes as Crockett's Ferrari mechanic. Golden is best known these days for playing Norma in Orange is the New Black .

Don King in Miami Vice

In a show as over-the-top as Miami Vice was, it only makes sense to have one of the biggest personalities of the decade appear as a guest star. Don King was larger than life in the '80s. The boxing promoter had Mike Tyson in his corner at the time, and Tyson was one of the biggest draws in sports, meaning King was everywhere. Naturally, he played a boxing promoter named "Don Cash" in an episode in Season 3.

NBA legend Bill Russell in Miami Vice

Bill Russell

NBA big men are no strangers to acting. Wilt Chamberlain in Conan The Destroyer , Shaquille O'Neal in Shazam , and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in Fletch and Airplane!  are a few examples. Celtics Legend Bill Russell was always a little more understated than those three, but he did find his way into an episode of Miami Vice playing a judge.

Leonard Cohen in Miami Vice

Leonard Cohen

French-Canadian singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen had legions of fans for decades before his death in 2016. While his music was often featured in movies, he wasn't really an actor. Still, Miami Vice managed to score him for an episode in Season 2.

James Brown in Miami Vice

James Brown

One of the coolest things about most of the guest-starring spots on the show was that rarely did one of the stars play themselves. That even went for mega-stars like James Brown. The Godfather of Soul appears as a musician, but not himself, so that had to be fun for Brown and the rest of the cast.

David Johansen in Miami Vice

David Johansen

David Johansen will first and foremost always be known as the lead singer of The New York Dolls, but he's also played a few roles on screen, including the cab driver/ghost of Christmas Past in Scrooged . He also got to play a version of himself on Miami Vice before adopting the Buster Poindexter persona in his music career.

Glenn Frey

Miami Vice was known for all its musician guest stars, and the first of those was the late Eagles guitar player and singer Glenn Frey. Frey provided a fair amount of music for the show, including his hit song "Smuggler's Blues" written for the show. He appeared in Season 1 playing a pilot who Tubbs and Crockett need for a smuggling bust, naturally.

George Takei and Melanie Griffith in Miami Vice

George Takei (And Melanie Griffith)

It's not that surprising to see an actor like George Takei on a show like Miami Vice but what makes it bonkers is that he's in a scene with Melanie Griffith and two professional wrestlers, "Captain" Lou Albano and Afa Anoa'i. It's a wild scene with the Star Trek vet playing a criminal overlord and the wrestlers as his henchman. Griffith was dating Johnson at the time, and they would eventually marry and become parents to Dakota Johnson .

Frankie Valli in Miami Vice

Frankie Valli

The show reached way back in the past when it cast singer Frankie Valli for an episode in its musician-laden second season. New Jersey boy Valli's career goes all the way back to the 1950s and he's had an astonishing 29 Top-40 hits. Still, his first acting role came in 1985 on Miami Vice.

Iman and Philip Michael Thomas in Miami Vice

Iman was one of the first supermodels of the '70s and '80s and she was on the cover of every fashion magazine out there. She didn't get into acting until 1985 when she first appeared on the show in the same episode as G. Gordon Liddy and Bob Balaban. Later she appeared in another episode in 1988 as a different character murdered by a serial killer.

Rita Moreno in Miami Vice

Rita Moreno

Talk about a legend! EGOT-winner Rita Moreno is Hollywood royalty and her role on Miami Vice is unique because she plays a crooked congresswoman, which is not something you would expect from her. She's brilliant, by the way, as you expect.

Isaac Hayes in Miami Vice

Isaac Hayes

Soul singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Isaac Hayes is no stranger to acting. For years he voiced Chef on South Park , and he had roles in legendary movies like Escape from New York , and I'm Gonna Git You Sucka . He also showed up in one episode of Miami Vice , playing a bad guy, which he was great at.

The Fat Boys in Miami Vice

The Fat Boys

Miami Vice oozed '80s cool so seeing 1980s hip-hop pioneers The Fat Boys on the show shouldn't be a surprise, but it is, and boy is it funny. Big Buff aka The Human Beat Box saunters up to Tubbs and Crockett on a street corner and makes them an offer that the two vice cops definitely refuse, but they don't bust him, because, come on, you can't bust The Fat Boys!

Ben Stiller in Miami Vice

Ben Stiller

Sometimes it feels like Ben Stiller has been around forever, and that's for good reason. One of his very first roles in Hollywood was on an episode in the show's fourth season. Stiller plays a criminal busted by Crockett and Tubbs and he's got some great lines, playing a real scuzzy kind of guy.

A lot of shows over the years have brought in some interesting and surprising celebrities for cameos and guest spots, but when you look at this list from Miami Vice it's hard to argue that any show did it better.
