The Newport Charter Yacht Show , which takes place at the Newport Shipyard, Newport, R.I., guarantees charter boat owners, brokers, agents and boating aficionados a convenient one-stop location for presenting and exploring the endless possibilities of luxury chartering. The event is the only one of its kind in the U.S. and while catering principally to the charter trade, it also allows discriminating consumers (attending with brokers) to learn more about dream vacations on one of the many world-class yachts that will be present. The NCYS will also showcase ancillary goods and services aimed at captains and crew and host a series of industry-focused seminars on destination cruising, maritime law and new technology.

The fundamental concentration of this event will evolve around a global display of luxury yachts from 50’ to over 250’ offered for Charter as well as the many services and excellent amenities accessible to support charter yachts and their professional crews. While the vessels being presented will epitomize primarily the Charter Yacht industry, it is also believed that the combination of on-land exhibitors will add to the ambiance and offer value for the yacht captains, crew members and those planning a Charter experience in the future. Only those exhibitors whose products and services fit within the parameters will be allowed to exhibit.

Newport Charter Yacht Show 2023

19th — 22nd june 2023.

Newport, Rhode Island is known for many things, not the least of which are plentiful coastal areas and easy access to the ocean, making it the perfect setting for the Newport Charter Yacht Show presented by The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation.

Since its inception over 35 years ago, the four-day event, scheduled for Monday, June 19 through Thursday, June 22, has grown into New England’s marquee trade show for brokers, agents, managers, captains, and crews whose livelihoods depend on the luxury charter yacht industry.

It is staged not in a hotel ballroom but at Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard, which owns and produces the Show at its 10-acre waterfront facility in the heart of downtown Newport. Networking gatherings, educational seminars, and special events all take place dockside and aboard 17 registered (to date) yachts that serve as platforms for adventure during New England’s high summer charter season.

“Newport has long been the gateway to New England, especially for yachtsmen and yachtswomen,” said Show Director Veronica Brown, “and it is the goal of the Show to highlight for the attendees all there is to see and do in this part of the country while the participating charter yachts reveal what they, specifically, can offer that is unique and different for charter guests.”

Newport Charter Yacht Show Announced for June

' src=

Charter Yacht Shows, which bring together brokers, agents, captains, and other professionals in the charter yacht industry, have a common focus: that of facilitating exquisite vacations aboard crewed luxury yachts. And while there are shows in every major charter location (Barcelona, Greece and Turkey, to name a few preceding the upcoming Mediterranean season), there is only one Newport Charter Yacht Show to showcase New England, its feted cruising grounds, and the vessels – both motor and sailing – that will be available for charter during prime summer season.

An annual event for more than 35 years, the four-day Newport Charter Yacht Show is presented by Helly Hansen Newport and owned and produced by Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard. Scheduled for Monday through Thursday, June 20-23, it takes place at the shipyard’s 10-acre facility in the heart of downtown Newport, Rhode Island, one of the world’s most distinguished yachting meccas.

“Newport is the gateway to New England cruising,” said Missy Johnston, president of the American Yacht Charter Association (AYCA) and owner of Northrop Johnson Yacht Charters in Newport. “It is where sailing yachts blow in, traveling from the Caribbean on the trade winds, and where motor yachts cruise in, coming up from Florida and the Bahamas. Virtually every charter yacht stops in Newport first, and later in the season they may end up in Maine or somewhere else up the East Coast. Then they all return to Newport and head south for the winter.”

Peeling back its layers, the Newport Charter Yacht Show is a well-planned showcase of magnificent charter yachts alongside an eclectic display of ancillary goods and services for the charter industry. It offers charter brokers the opportunity to network, share knowledge, and most important, inspect the participating yachts. They meet with agents, captains and crew; review charters that took place over the winter; and talk about charters to come. They experience service onboard, including tasting food from new chefs and personally inspecting the linens and dinnerware that are used. If a yacht has had a refit or remodeling, or if it has added to its array of water toys, it’s important for the brokers to know every detail.

“A broker gets to know the personalities of the yachts and crews so that a perfect match can be made for a client and a tailored, unforgettable vacation experience can be developed,” said Johnston.

Helping to highlight each yacht’s offerings are the show’s special events, tailored for serious fun. They include a marquee Chef Competition and contests for captains, deck hands and stewardesses. (Tablescaping, Signature Cocktails and Drone Flying are among the most popular.) Sponsors and vendors join brokers and agents in a lively Yacht Hop that features each yacht in “full entertainment mode,” while the AYCA holds its annual meeting and signature informational seminars for brokers, captains and crew alike. (This year will feature interaction with vendors and tour operators from Newport and surrounding areas who can provide high-end tours and experiences that charter clients would enjoy.)

“We are excited to have three yachts in the show,” said Madeline Mancini of Denison Yachting, which has offices in Monaco and throughout the U.S., including in Newport. “It’s an important market to be in, so we always come back. Last year our charter season here was super busy; summer is much better in New England than anywhere else in the U.S. or in the Caribbean or the Bahamas.”

Denison Yachting’s registered yachts include the 102’ M/Y Magnum Ride, the 92’ M/Y Slipaway and the 92’ M/Y Helios.

“Our summer charter range typically extends from New York City to Bar Harbor,” said Nick Brucato, who has been the captain of Helios for four years and spent last summer chartering primarily in Maine. “Some of Helios’s distinguishing features are that she is fast (capable of cruising at 20 knots) and has a low fuel burn, which is very important right now. She also has stabilizers (to reduce roll due to wind or waves) and is very maneuverable, with a shallow draft, so we can get into anchorages and spots that other charter yachts might not be able to get into.”

As there are connoisseurs of wine, music, and exotic cars, there also are discriminating clients who enjoy luxury charter yacht vacations. It takes a team of professionals to make good things happen on this front, and the Newport Charter Yacht Show plays an important role in bringing them together for the New England cruising season.

The Crew Take the Spotlight at the Newport Charter Yacht Show

newport charter yacht show 2023

Lauren Beck is the former editor of Dockwalk and was with the publication from 2006 to 2023. At 13, she left South Africa aboard a 34-foot sailing boat with her family and ended up in St. Maarten for six years. Before college, she worked as crew for a year, and then cut her journalistic teeth at Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies’ Home Journal online. She loves traveling, reading, tennis, and rooting for the Boston Red Sox.

With cool, crisp temperatures and sunny blue skies, the Newport Charter Yacht Show was a delightful escape from steamy South Florida. This year, the show was also presented by The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investment, and Aviation, which hosted a seminar to share updates on the area. The docks were bustling with the 14 participating boats and accompanying brokers and vendors.

“The brokers, suppliers, marina staff, and especially the crew are the backbone of yacht chartering and what makes the onboard guest experience amazing,” said Winnie DeCoster, who helped organize the show crew contests. “Here at Newport Charter Yacht Show, we create an atmosphere where crew from the participating yachts meet, mingle, and leave with a dock full of friends that they will see all over New England during their summer season.” From tablescaping competitions to a chefs’ contest, to deck skills, the crew contests are always a success at the show, incorporating both professional skills and a little fun.

A chef contest is challenging at the best of times. But who doesn’t like to spice it up by competing with your sous chef on board, too? Chef Nicole Ackerman of M/Y Unbridled was obviously up for the challenge, claiming first place in the chef’s competition. The contest was sponsored once more by Shoreside Support, who supplied a basket of mystery products, and then chefs competed in a quick-fire skill challenge to determine who would get to select their protein first. The chefs were asked to create three platters of hors d’oeuvres using the supplied ingredients.

Ackerman dreamed up an amazing menu that wowed the judges. “The brief was challenging because there was a lot of ingredients given to us and we had to try use as many as possible,” Ackerman says. Her raw board included razor clam ceviche, mango and heirloom tomato salsa, avo crema, and salsa verde. She also created masa-seared scallop on the half shell, and a butter-poached Spanish prawn in a charred pink pineapple and red curry sauce. “My razor clam ceviche was born for the competition,” she says. “The masa scallop is something I tasted at a restaurant in Austin while traveling around the U.S. in my RV. I’m a sucker for anything corn and the texture and flavor the masa gives the scallop creates a perfect crust to a delicate scallop.” Second place in the contest was claimed by Chef Stephanie of M/Y Freedom , and Sous Chef Johan of M/Y Unbridled placed third.

“I thought it was a really successful competition,” says Cole Bettony of Shoreside Support, who along with Executive Chef Kevin Des Chenes and USSA President and former yacht chef Kitty McGowan, judged the contest. “I thought all the chefs did a great job — to get products less than 24 hours before and to be able to put composed dishes and that many hor d’oeuvres and flavors together and to have that variety of proteins and then zero in and execute. Overall, I thought they did an excellent job. I was really happy with the contest — it was a lot of fun.”

While the chefs shone in the galley, the interior team created some stunners to showcase their table design talents in the Tablescaping Competition. Judge Cheryl DiGennaro of Newport Yacht Interiors had a tough task evaluating all nine entries, but it was ultimately Chief Stewardess Karly Hinkebein, Third Stewardess Jade, and Second Stew Jess of M/Y Mirabella and their Enchanted Garden themed table who were crowned best table. “I wanted it to incorporate lush greens and soft pastels, plenty of cute plants, and flowers like you'd see if you imagine a fairytale forest,” Hinkebein says. “I love these competitions because it gives us an excuse to add a new theme night for future guests!” Chief Stewardess Erin Brown of M/Y Spirit captured the fan favorite with her stunning pink table embodying a modern floral fusion interpretation of the Amalfi Coast and New England.

What table would be complete without an accompanying cocktail? Nine yachts also entered the Signature Cocktail Competition, sponsored by Espolòn Tequila, and Chef Ranada Riley claimed victory for the second year in row with her Azure cocktail. (For her recipe, check out our Chefs’ Corner page.)

The deck team also had room to shine in the Captain and Deck Challenge, where crew from seven yachts competed in a fender inflation, floral design, and yoga challenge. (We did say professional and fun!) M/Y Sea Axis were the ultimate victors, but First Mate Sehan of M/Y Lexington had the fastest time of 44 seconds in the fender inflation contest, and Deckhand Christine of S/Y Kaori had such an impressive flower arrangement that a guest took it home.

While it may not have been the last night, the Yacht Hop was the perfect venue to showcase the amazing entertainment talents of each vessel, from the live music aboard S/Y Kaori , to the lively Sea Axis , to the Disco theme on M/Y Serenity , which won the Herman Pundt Best Yacht Hop award.

After a hectic three days, the show closed with the ceremonial honking of the horns at 5 p.m. on Thursday — we can’t wait to see how next year compares. See you there!

NEWPORT CHARTER YACHT WORLD

Connecting the Dots in the Charter Yacht World

newport charter yacht show 2023

NEWPORT, R.I. (April 28, 2023) – Charter yacht brokers are setting their sights on Newport, R.I. where an intriguing array of fully crewed luxury yachts will be awaiting their inspection during the 2023  Newport Charter Yacht Show  presented by  The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation . Scheduled for Monday, June 19 through Thursday, June 22, the four-day event has been serving as the charter yacht industry’s premier trade gathering in the Northeast for over 35 years and kicks off the New England charter season.

“I’ve been coming to the Newport Charter Yacht Show for 20-plus years, and it’s one of my favorites,” said Allison Cecilio, a charter broker who earlier this year became a charter manager for Denison Yachting and represents the 133’ M/Y  Serenity,  which is making its debut in the New England market and its first major Charter Show appearance. She explained that charter yacht shows take place in all different parts of the world; however, this one – presented, owned and produced by  Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard  at its 10-acre waterfront facility in the heart of downtown Newport – shines brightly as a beacon for one of the world’s most distinguished yachting destinations and the broader whole of New England, which trends as a feted cruising destination during the USA’s summer months.

“It’s more welcoming and intimate than other shows…a great vibe and kickoff to the New England charter season,” added Cecilio. “They roll out the red carpet whether you are a charter manager, broker or other industry professional.”

As a manager, Cecilio represents yacht owners and communicates with them as well as their captains and crews about the yacht’s availability for charter, any changes that have taken place (either structurally or with personnel) and what offerings are being made, from water toys available to a chef’s cuisine specialties. She then acts as a wholesaler for her clients, the charter yacht brokers who, in this case, are retailers “shopping” for options to present to end users: those looking for highly personalized, moreover exquisitely unforgettable, vacations aboard crewed luxury yachts. Among  Serenity ’s unique selling points are a 2022 interior refit, a 900 square foot master suite; a full-service elevator from below guest accommodations; and a sundeck jacuzzi with a waterfall. “ Serenity  exudes luxury and hosts amenities unlike any other charter yacht in her class.”

Working with Cecilio at Denison Yachting is Jennifer M. Saia, a charter specialist who both consults with  Serenity ’s management team and books yacht charters. “Going by the list of yachts registered thus far, it seems that more than 75% of them are new to this Show,” said Saia, “which will help draw more charter brokers to come and check out the new products for not only this Summer but also for their respective Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons too!”

Among other new additions to the Show this year are the 157’ M/Y  Mirabella , so far the largest vessel registered; the 125’ S/Y  Kaori , to date the sole sailing vessel;   and the   79’  SOL , a striking solar powered catamaran.

Both  Mirabella  and  Kaori  are being presented by Northrop & Johnson. Adam Fitzmaurice, who represents  Mirabella , says continuing to register vessels year-after-year is indicative of his company’s deep commitment to the Show. “It’s a showcase not only for the yachts but also for our chefs and crew members, who are the most important element of any charter. As well,  Kaori  will be participating in the  2023 Newport Yacht Rendezvous  (which follows the Show on Friday, June 23 and benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Newport County), because the owners believe in giving back.”

This is  Kaori’ s first charter show since her major refit and return to the East Coast. Built by Palmer Johnson in 1991, she has been updated to the latest technology and design over the years by her loving owners and in 2021 underwent extensive interior upgrades and installation of NAIAD zero speed stabilizers.

“ Kaori  is the outlier, being a truly adept sailing vessel yet built with the power cruising capability for world-wide expeditions,” said the yacht’s owner Dan Stabbert, adding that  Kaori  has circumnavigated the world four times. “We have sailed  Kaori  from Alaska to South America and yet we have been able to show off her capabilities to only a handful of charter brokers. We felt the Newport Charter Yacht Show was the venue to best communicate what  Kaori  means to today’s new era of environmentally responsible families who desire the ocean experience…we want the charter community to understand the wonders of sailing yachts and the difference such a uniquely designed yacht can make when exploring the wonders of this world.”

Built in 2004 by Trinity Yachts and refitted in 2018,  Mirabella  is impeccably maintained; with sensational five-star service and plenty of tenders and recreational equipment, she is a standout in the Northrop & Johnson fleet.

According to Sandy Carney, a broker with Sanderson Yachting, as intriguing as new yachts can be, returning yachts are equally important to the Newport Charter Yacht Show mix, since many can have updates to décor and amenities, crew, central agents and more. Examples of yachts returning from 2022 are the 110’ M/Y  Freedom , represented by Yacht Connexion, and the 85’ M/Y  Lexington  represented by Blue Oceans Yachting. “I’m always excited to see ‘new’ yachts at the Show and meet new crew,” said Carney, “but networking with returning crew and central agents helps build relationships. There are so many moving parts in a private yacht charter that it helps to know with whom I’m working.”

During the Newport Charter Yacht Show, the public is invited to check out exhibiting vendors along the “checkerboard patio” outside  Belle’s Café  at Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard. Vendors will be open daily Tuesday, June 20 through Thursday, June 22 from 10am-5pm. Those vendors include presenting sponsor  The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation

with its mobile pop-up shop;

KVH Industries ;

Alexseal Yacht Coatings ;

AkzoNobel ;

  AERE Marine Group ;

Star Glow Products ;

Sun In Comfort ;

Capitol Construction ,

Several  special events  will highlight each yacht’s unique character.

Sponsors and vendors join brokers and agents in a lively Yacht Hop that features each yacht in “full entertainment mode,” and the American Yacht Charter Association (AYCA) holds its annual meeting and signature informational seminars for brokers, captains, and crew alike.

The Newport Charter Yacht Show is proud to partner with all its sponsors, including presenting sponsor The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation. Alexseal Yacht Coatings and KVH Industries will sponsor the Monday evening Captain & Crew Briefing and Cocktail Party along with  Bridge Liquors  who is the bar sponsor.  Dockwalk  magazine is a Crew Competition sponsor along with the  US Superyacht Association ,  Narragansett Beer , Aere Marine Group,  lululemon Newport , and  Young Designs Floral Studio

Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard

Newport Charter Yacht Show: A First-Rate Experience

Another Impressive Splash

After more than 35 years of bringing charter brokers together with agents, captains, and crews of luxury yachts available for summer charters in New England, the  Newport Charter Yacht Show  proved once again that it never fails to make an impressive splash. This year  The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation  stepped in as the event’s presenting sponsor and along with  Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard  (the Show’s producer and owner) helped pack a four-day schedule (June 19-22) with plenty of activities both business and social. Tours, meetings, luncheons, and seminars neatly accommodated the business side of things, while colorful parties and crew competitions provided a healthy dose of socializing and merrymaking. At the core of it all were 14 participating charter yachts – ranging in size from the 57’ sailing yacht Vanishing Point, presented by Nicholson Yachts of Newport, to the 191’ motor yacht Unbridled, presented by Northrop & Johnson – and almost 100 brokers there to inspect them.

“Our main goal in participating was to showcase the 112’ M/Y  SPIRIT  as a serious charter-ready yacht,” said Brendan Roney, principal of the Florida-based BR Marine Group, which provides creative solutions for chartering, buying, selling, and managing yachts, “and to assure charter brokers that their vacationing clients will marvel at the presentations and attitudes of SPIRIT’s Captain Nick Brown and his stellar crew. We already have charters booked, so we most certainly did accomplish this goal.”

Like all the yachts participating,  SPIRIT  hosted charter brokers on board each day for familiarization with layout, accommodations, and the personalities who would ultimately take charge of the charter guest experience. “Chef Skye Burris prepared a welcome food platter each morning for our aft-deck table, which was properly set and presented by our stewardess for each day's showings,” said BR Marine Group’s Charter Manager Marian Walker. “We hosted a luncheon for eight on Thursday with an Asian-themed table setting and menu. We were extremely pleased with the feedback we received, and the Newport Charter Yacht Show provided a first-rate experience.”

Among the Newport Charter Yacht Show’s  special events  was a chef competition and crew contests for captains, deck hands and stewardesses.

“The brokers, suppliers, marina staff and especially the crew are the backbone of yacht chartering and what makes the onboard guest experience amazing,” said Winifred “Winnie” DeCoster, who organized the Chef’s challenge and emceed the closing awards. “Here at Newport Charter Yacht Show we create an atmosphere where crew from the participating yachts meet, mingle, and leave with a dock full of friends that they will see all over New England during their summer season.”

Perhaps best fostering the spirit of camaraderie was the  Captain and Deck Challenge  sponsored by Dockwalk magazine, Aere Marine Group, Young Designs Floral Studio, US Superyacht Association, and Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard. Seven participating crews competed in a challenge that included fender inflation (fastest time), floral design, and yoga. With the best overall performance in all three disciplines was the 125’ M/Y Sea Axis, presented by Worldwide Boat.

For the  Tablescaping Competition , some interior crews had spent weeks brainstorming and crafting their decorations. Nine yachts competed, with the 157’ M/Y  Mirabella , presented by Northrop & Johnson, winning the Professional Judges’ award, led by Cheryl DiGennaro from Newport Yacht Interiors, for its whimsical Enchanted Garden theme. The aforementioned 112’ M/Y  Spirit , presented by BR Marine Group, won the “Fan Favorite” award (as voted by brokers and show attendees) for its modern floral take on the Amalfi Coast fused with New England charm.

The  Signature Cocktail Competition , sponsored by Espolòn Tequila, also had nine competitors. Taking first place was the 85’ M/Y  Lexington , presented by Blue Oceans Yachting, with its Azure Blue cocktail.

Sponsors and vendors joined brokers and agents in a lively  Yacht Hop  that featured each yacht in “full entertainment mode.” For its vibrant “Disco” theme, the 133’ M/Y  Serenity , presented by Denison Yachting, won the Herman Pundt Best Yacht Hop award.

The much-anticipated  Chef’s Competition  was sponsored for a second year by crew provisioning company Shoreside Support, which   supplied fresh ingredients for the “mystery basket” that each of the six competing chefs received a day before the event. It included a large variety of specialty produce, including white asparagus and pink pineapples, as well as local razor clams and Petrossian caviar. The chefs competed in a quick-fire skill challenge that determined their order in choosing a protein for the challenge, which was to create three platters (including a grazing board) of hors d’oeuvres and canapés, using as many of the supplied ingredients as possible.

Winning was Chef Nicole Ackerman from the aforementioned M/Y  Unbridled  (presented by Northrop & Johnson). With shellfish as her protein, Chef Nicole presented masa seared scallops on the half shell with Jerusalem artichoke purée, pickled mushrooms, pickled baby fennel, and kale oil; butter poached Spanish prawns in a charred pink pineapple and red curry sauce with toasted peanut crunch and burnt lime; and a raw board of caviar cones with almond foam, lemon zest, and herb oil, razor clam ceviche with mango-heirloom tomato salsa, avocado crema, and salsa verde, and crispy potato skins with wild garlic cream and caviar.

“Every one of Chef Nicole’s bites were wild and interesting,” said Shoreside Support’s New England Manager of Client Relations Cole Bettony, who judged the competition along with Executive Chef and Culinary Expert Kevin Des Chenes and US Superyacht Association President and former yacht chef Kitty McGowan. “I was very confused by it, but that’s what I loved about it…all the tastes and textures…and an outstanding fourth bite of scallop, shrimp and razor clams – a light, refreshing play on ceviche.”

This was Chef Nicole’s first competition. Working as a yacht chef for ten years, she has never worked in a restaurant or been culinary trained. “Being surrounded by so many talented chefs in this industry, it’s an honor to have been picked as the winner for this competition,” said Chef Nicole. “I’m self-taught and very proud to be competing against other culinary trained chefs. Sometimes, I have to pinch myself and appreciate how far I’ve come.

Chef Nicole explained that her biggest challenge was presenting seafood to the judges without cooking it in front of them. “I had very delicate ingredients that were easy to mess up if they were not cooked to perfection or served at the right temperature. I had to sear my scallops and poach my Spanish prawns to perfection, then hot-foot it down the dock to the judges tent to plate up. They turned out wonderfully and the judges got to enjoy them while they were still hot.”

When asked what impressed him most about this year’s competing chefs, Cole Bettony said, “Their willingness to do it! It takes gumption to put your reputation out there while you have so many other things to do at the Show and without knowing the ingredients until 24 hours ahead of time."

The  American Yacht Charter Association  held its annual meeting on Tuesday during the Show and its  Signature Breakfast Seminar  on Thursday, June 22. With over 70 brokers and marine industry professionals in attendance, topics included: Cruising in the Bahamas; Destination - Rhode Island; the European Committee for Professional Yachting’s Transport Charter Agreement; Destination - Croatia; and round table presenters from Ocean Havens, Ankor Software, Marsha Yachting, Charter Itinerary, Little Gem Resort, Croatian Premium Wine, and Marina Bahia Golfito.

The Newport Charter Yacht Show 2023 Highlights

The Newport Charter Yacht Show 2023 Highlights

With a large, sheltered harbor within Narragansett Bay, Newport was the delightful and picturesque setting for the 35th Newport Charter Yacht Show which took place June 19-22, 2023. Situated directly between New York City and Boston, Newport is a great destination for summertime charters, and for charter yachts who plan to spend the summer in New England or along the Eastern seaboard, the Newport Charter Yacht Show was the perfect way to start the season. The scope of the show also encompassed the Bahamas, with The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism/Investments & Aviation the presenting sponsor.

The four-day event focused around the display of luxury crewed charter yachts ranging in size from the 57’ sailing yacht Vanishing Point to the 191’ motor yacht Unbridled . The show drew nearly 100 charter brokers eager to inspect these yachts firsthand, and find the perfect choice for clients interested in this region.

Here are a few of our favorite yachts in attendance:

118 Ft. M/Y XOXO: Sleeps 10 guests in 5 cabins.

125 Ft. M/Y Sea Axis: Sleeps 12 guests in 5 cabins.

100 Ft. M/Y Magnum Ride: Sleeps 8 guests in 4 cabins.

Throughout the show, educational seminars and panel discussions were held by charter yacht industry experts to share updates on new technologies, changes in maritime law, and to promote charter-friendly resorts and enchanting destinations.

The show also featured several competitions, including the ever-popular Chef’s culinary competition. The theme, A Junkanoo of Hors d'oeuvre, featured hors d’oeuvres, appetizers and small plates. The chefs presented their dishes to the judges, explaining their chosen ingredients and how they prepared their entry.

Winning was Chef Nicole Ackerman from M/Y Unbridled .

Perhaps best fostering the spirit of camaraderie was the Captain and Deck Challenge, with seven participating crews competing in a 3-part competition that included fender inflation (fastest time), floral design, and yoga. The best overall performance in all three disciplines was the 125’ M/Y Sea Axis .

The Tablescaping Competition attracted 9 yachts, with the 157’ M/Y Mirabella winning the Professional Judges’ award. The 112’ M/Y Spirit won the “Fan Favorite” award (as voted by brokers and show attendees) for its modern floral take on the Amalfi Coast fused with New England charm. Taking first place in the Signature Cocktail Competition sponsored by Espolòn Tequila, was the 85’ M/Y Lexington with its Azure Blue cocktail. For its vibrant “Disco” theme, the 133’ M/Y Serenity won the Herman Pundt Best Yacht Hop award.
