The Trans Luxury Yacht

luxury yacht labuan bajo

Originally a Japanese yacht built in 1991, the Trans Luxury Yacht (formerly the MV Salila) was extensively rebuilt between 2019-2021 to become a truly magnificent charter vessel, a 58-meter, 20-passenger, luxury super yacht ready to take you on exclusive journeys across the thrilling Komodo National Park of Indonesia.

Her distinctive design, which includes custom patterns exclusively designed for The Trans Luxury Yacht, blends contemporary style with Indonesian tradition, and crafts a space that harmonizes historical elegance with modern accents, reflective of the Trans Hotel Group’s own unique style.

Her 20-strong, full service crew—which includes a Cruise Director to ensure smooth, stress-free operations—equally epitomizes the Group’s renowned gold standard level hospitality.

Life On Board

The yacht has 5 decks of dining, entertainment, and relaxation options to make you and your guests feel at home. (There are also amenities which may make the vessel attractive to groups of colleagues or societies, such as the multi-purpose Meeting Room space, ideal for board meetings or special occasions featuring state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment.)

The yacht’s 10 comfortable cabins can be found split over the two lowermost decks, with 8 cabins (4 double and 4 twin) on the Lower deck, and 2 suites located on the Upper Deck near to the on board Spa Room. All come with ensuite bathrooms exquisitely fitted with Italian Serpiente marble and adorned with exclusive Acqua di Parma toiletries.

The main Saloon Deck features a spacious and sophisticated living room, with smart LED TV and audio equipment, a bar area and an indoor dining room, whilst the Navigation Deck features the aforementioned meeting room, as well as an outdoor dining area (picture alfresco dining with unrestricted views of paradise!) and the bridge. But the uppermost Sundeck is where you’ll spend the majority of your time whilst on board, with another bar area, enticing Jacuzzi, and heavenly outdoor lounge.

Foodies will not be disappointed as the Trans Luxury Yacht offers a 5-star culinary journey inspired by Asian traditions with modern twists. The on board chefs provide a variety of full-board menus, from healthy breakfasts and family style lunches, to barbecues by the beach and set menu evening dinners for a more intimate dining experience.

Whilst all itineraries are tailorable to your group’s needs, on any given day you could be visiting the islands’ famously alluring pink sand beaches, perfect spots for snorkeling, sunbathing and kayaking, or exploring the underwater treasures of the Coral Triangle from the comfort of the yacht’s glass-bottomed tender.

Or you might be trekking through the savanna of Komodo Island for an up-close encounter with the iconic, resident Komodo dragons, witnessing the giant ‘Flying Foxes’ that roost on Koaba Island, or being greeted by playful dolphins at the beautiful Bidadari (Angel) Island.

Well-known for its clear water and long stretch of white sandy beach, Bidadari is also great for water activities and a top location to try out the Trans luxury yacht’s array of water sports equipment at your disposal, including snorkel gear, sea kayak, stand-up paddle board, as well as wakeboard and donut ride options.

Diving is also a possibility but this activity is only possible on charters of a minimum length of 4 days for an additional cost. Just to the north of Rinca Island, Wainilu beach is a little paradise for macro lovers, perfect for divers (and underwater photographers) of all abilities.

A range of 3 – 7 day private charter cruise itineraries (6 & 7 day itineraries upon request) sailing Komodo National Park are available to choose from, all promising guests incredible exclusive experiences in one of Indonesia’s most sought after destinations.

Itineraries & Prices

All itineraries are subject to change due to seasonal weather conditions (and resultant variations in river and tributary water levels) affecting accessibility to locations. Thus navigation routes, times and excursions may need to be modified at the cruise captain’s or your guide's discretion.

just amazing

it’s amazing, the experience was surreal. The crew is outstanding i’d definitely go on this trip again.

Jetta Ferra

Magical, memorable, magnificent.

Took the fam (wife, 3 kids 18, 15 & 6 and myself) on a 3-day 2-night circuit around Komodo National Park on the Samara. Hand-crafted boat was gorgeous and comfortable, staff were terrific, food was delicious and plentiful and the environment was just incredible. The personal touches of Fresa (Indonesian) & Marc (Swiss) came through in every detail and we can’t recommend it highly enough!

Definitely an experience that will never be forgotten! The room was always cool and the beds were clean and comfortable. Surprisingly, my children had no problem sleeping on the boat. We never had to worry about being hungry cause they serve abundant, delicious food from morning til’ evening. And to top if off, the entire crew was sensational! Very friendly and never hesitated to help us and to take care of the children. Thank you for the wonderful trip, we will definitely come back again someday

Enno Lorian

We are very and happily satisfied with the boat facilities, especially the delicious food that they served. The crew was friendly and helpful, even though we had a little trouble with unfitting snorkeling equipment, over all my family and I really enjoyed the experience of our holiday in Flores with Samara Liveaboard

Kenanga Wungu

Very well organized, incredibly lively and warm crew. Note worthy, the professional and attentive attitude to every passenger. Very knowledgable and helpful. We had an amazing experience, such as hiking, trekking and snorkeling despite the fact that we are not very “sporty”, but the crew made sure we were ok every step of the way. Delicious food and great service. Thank you Samara for making this a memorable experience.

Best crew, best chef – always making sure that the boat is nice and clean. The kids loved sitting on the deck looking at the breathtaking view of all the islands! All in all, just perfect.

We are two families with eight people and Samara II is an amazing boat! It has plenty of room for us. The chef is great and always ready to serve us. And the captain, Mr. Stefan always ensured that we were safe. We love the crew too, they are amazingly helpful. Not just us, the parents, but also our four teenagers had a great time visiting Komodo National Park. We highly recommend Samara!

Lastly, for a private motor yacht, expect an average cost of $2,200 to $5,000+ per day (up to 8-12 passengers with luxurious, spacious cabins). Once again, take into consideration; yacht charter prices in Labuan Bajo can vary according to your need for crew members, cabins, facilities, and other add-ons.

When is the yachting season in Labuan Bajo?

Labuan Bajo and Komodo National Park experience only two seasons: rainy and dry season. For the best yacht charter season in Labuan Bajo, travel during the dry months from April to September. For the rainy season, it's December to March. Although the tendency for rainfall is more, it usually happens early in the morning or late afternoon. Other than that, Labuan Bajo experiences a beautiful tropical climate all year round, which is one reason marine life thrives.

Labuan Bajo yacht charter for a day

Charter a yacht for a day in Labuan Bajo to get one of the most promising, world-scenic views, and epic adventures both above and underwater across the Komodo Islands! Cruise across the famous Rinca Island to trek Komodo trail with park's rangers, through the enthralling savannah in search of the prehistoric Komodo Dragons. Apart from dragons, Rinca Island is home to deers, monkeys, wild horses, and thousands of flying foxes.

After a scenic view/tour of Rinca Island's untouched nature, relax by the mountainous hills and lay down with the stunning view of the sun and crystal clear water with your friends or loved ones. If you are lucky, you can see thousands of bats flying during their evening feast from a distance. A typical yacht charter for a day in Labuan Bajo also includes a Komodo Island visit with its world-famous Pink Beach, as well snorkeling and diving with mantas in Taka Makassar.

Labuan Bajo yacht charter overnight

Yacht charter overnight from Labuan Bajo allows extending your Komodo Islands itinerary significantly. We recommend trekking a jaw-dropping peak on Padar Island that overlooks three-colored beaches below. From the Pink Beach created by crushed red corals that are washed up onto the shores by the strong tides, to powder-soft sands of White Beach, and finally, grey-colored Black Beach - Padar Island will not disappoint. Cruise towards Komodo Island to meet the famous dragons next. Nearby Komodo Island, a visit to Gili Lawa Darat for a spectacular sunset from atop of its viewpoints will make your day to remember.

The next morning, get ready for some aquatic adventures around Siaba Island and Tatawa Island. Here you can swim and snorkel with sea turtles while admiring vibrant coral reefs throughout. You can also visit spectacular dive sites, including Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, and Taka Makassar Manta Reef. Make sure to visit terrific Kanawa Island and experience beautiful Kelor Island, too. Designated as a UNESCO world heritage and one of the seven wonders of the world, Komodo National Park is packed with on-land adventures and a Jurassic Park vibe. Nothing beats an overnight yacht charter here.

Labuan Bajo yacht charter for a week

Yacht charter for a week from Labuan Bajo to experience the ultimate exploration of Komodo National Park. Cruise through Rinca Island, Komodo Island onto Gili Lawat Laut & Gili Lawa Darat. These 2 islands are home to some of the most famous diving sites such as Castle and Crystal Rock, The Passage, and Lighthouse. Vacationers can encounter Giant Trevally, white-tipped sharks, Mobula rays, and lovely dolphin pods! As you cruise, make sure to stop by Padar Island. Once on top of Padar's peak, witness a 360 panoramic shot of its Jurassic Park grassland overlooking three stunning bays - the first powder-soft sand beach, second soft-pink beach, and the third, black colored beach from the charcoal hues of its volcanic origins.

Another secret area to voyage during a week-long Komodo yacht itinerary is the south side of Rinca Island. The famous HorseShoe Bay or Nusa Kode is in Rinca island – a spectacular place to see prehistoric Komodo Dragons, rare fish eagles, wild boars, and home to critters like pygmy seahorses and colorful nudibranchs. Lastly, there are dramatic rock formations as you cruise through Rinca Island. One thing you can be sure of is that Rinca Island packs a punch, filling your itinerary with unusual activities exclusively with a private yacht. Enjoy your BBQ dinner while admiring the view of volcanoes at Sangeang Island from a distance.

And you don't have to end your one-week yacht charter where you started it from (Labuan Bajo) because you can voyage towards Sumbawa island and reach Lombok or Bali at the end of your trip. Overall, chartering a yacht for a week in Komodo Islands gives you a limitless possibility to add to your itinerary.

7 Day Komodo Charter Itinerary - Labuan Bajo to Labuan Bajo

Ideal for Summer Season

Indonesia is a country filled with staggering scenery, incredible wildlife and cuisine that will make your tastebuds dance with delight. One of the best places to experience the very best of what Indonesia has to offer is the Komodo National Park. As a UNESCO-listed site, the national park is a tourist hotspot in this area of the globe and once you arrive it isn’t hard to see why it attracts so many visitors. Starting your adventure at Labuan Bajo, your luxury charter yacht will take you to see the biggest islands in the Komodo archipelago as well as some of the quieter and uninhabited islands. If wildlife, beaches and stunning landscapes are your ideas of the perfect holiday, this will be one trip you will never forget.

Labuan Bajo

Labuan Bajo

After touching down at Labuan Bajo airport your first port of call is to head straight to your chosen luxury charter yacht . Take a tour of the vessel with your crew and settle in as the anchor is raised to whisk you away to the peaceful location of Saboyer Island.

Located on the outskirts of the national park, this island is the ideal place to sink into the realm of relaxation and paradise. The beaches are far-reaching and offer the tranquility you need to get into holiday mode. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach or take the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the waters by taking your first snorkeling session.

The world beneath the waters is just as beautiful as above the waterline, so be sure to explore at your leisure and get a taste of some of the incredible wildlife in the area. Top off the first day of your private yacht rental vacation by dining alfresco under the stars.

Labuan Bajo

Rinca Island

Rinca Island

One of the 3 main islands in the archipelago, Rinca is lesser known than the title island of Komodo making it the ideal location to see some of the wildlife in its natural, undisturbed habitat. Anchoring down off the shore, take your tender to get a closer look without disturbing too many of the native creatures.

Rinca island is home to many species of wildlife including water buffalos, wild pigs, monkeys, and an impressive array of birds. But the most sought-after creature on the island is the komodo dragon. Native to Rinca and Komodo island itself, these dragons roam free and are a popular attraction when visiting the area.

Your afternoon is open for a couple of hours of deep beach relaxation. The island is littered with sweeping sandy beaches sprinkled with shells and pink corals. Take some great holiday photos before adorning your diving gear to investigate the surrounding waters and nearby coves around the coastline.

Rinca Island

Sandwiched between the main islands of Rinca and Komodo, the smaller island of Padar offers a safe haven for luxury charter yachts and their crews. The natural bay on the southeast coast of the island makes an ideal anchorage and also offers some gorgeous views of the island and the surrounding area.

The waters in this particular area are known to be one of the best diving locations in Indonesia , so grabbing your equipment needs no hesitation. The habitat below the waves is attractive to large schools of fish and many species have set up their home here. Komodo National Park is famous for having an impeccably high amount of diversity in wildlife, with over 1000 species visiting the area regularly, so every trip into the waters is likely to be different than the last.

While on the pretty island of Padar, take a stroll into the raised elevations to make the most of the sweeping panoramic views before returning to the powdery beaches to indulge in an afternoon of beachcombing and a barbeque by your exclusive crew and catering team.

Padar

South Rinca

South Rinca

Back to the island of Rinca, this time you visit the southern coast which offers more encounters with the komodo dragons plus a host of deer, boars and more monkeys.

Your fourth day in the Komodo National Park will largely be spent exploring the underwater environment. Cannibal Rock is one of the most famous dive sites in the area, and one of the most popular in the world. Featuring many of the 1000 species living in the area, this dive site is perfect for all levels of diving experience and it will introduce you to some of the most loved underwater creatures such as seahorses.

In addition to the magical life underwater, there are also some impressive rock formations that are accessible by tender. Cruising past these formations will get you up close to the steep elevations of the southern coast of Rinca and you may catch some unmissable views of some of the birds residing on the steep cliffs. Before retiring for the evening take your luxury charter yacht to the famous Horse Shoe Bay to see the patrols of komodo dragons and the picturesque beach with a backdrop of lush green foliage and forest.

South Rinca

South West Komodo

South West Komodo

Once in a lifetime opportunities make holidays special and today on the south west coast of Komodo you will have another experience that you will never forget.

Manta point has a very apt name and is one of the biggest attractions on the island of Komodo. As one of the most active areas in the Komodo region, the sealife here will simply take your breath away. Take the plunge into the cool waters to swim with large amounts of manta rays. Their inquisitive nature will give you the opportunity to see them up close and get some great underwater photographs of these stunning creatures.

While in the marine world, investigate the rest of the bay where you can see large rocks covered top to bottom in beautiful coral gardens. In addition to the native fauna, there is also a multitude of inhabitants on the rocks including barracuda and tuna.

Gili Lawa Islands

Gili Lawa Islands

Round the northern coast of Komodo island, the pair of Gili Lawa Islands have a spectacular day of diving in store for you. Easily the most popular destination in the area for diving, you will have the chance to visit no less than 5 different dive sites.

The depths of the dives around Gili Lawa Laut and Gili Lawa Darat are suitable for any level of diving experience and are perfect for a first-time diver too. There is an impressive array of underwater life to see when diving in the Gili Lawa islands as well as a vibrant spread of corals and other underwater fauna.

When you’re not in the crisp waters visiting the native creatures, there is an abundance of private beaches. Despite the popularity of the area because of the dive sites, it is relatively easy to find your own space of heaven on these islands. Relaxing on the beaches is irresistible on the Gili Lawa islands but make sure you pack up before nightfall. Before spending the evening on board yo luxury charter yacht, climb the elevations of the islands to enjoy the spectacular view of the sunset over the ocean.

Gili Lawa Islands

On your last day, you have the morning to relax on board your luxury charter yacht as you cruise back to Labuan Bajo.

If time allows you may have a chance to return to Saboyer Island for one last beach and diving session, you have the entire morning to kick back and rejuvenate on the sundeck before jetting back off to reality.

Top 3 Must-try Tours in Labuan Bajo

One Day Trip to Komodo Island – This 11 hour tour is the most cost effective and best option to explore Komodo island. You get to trek the epic Padar island as well as snorkel at Manta Point and Pink Beach. This is my choice for the best tour of Labuan Bajo. Click to read reviews and book .

Jayakarta Suites Komodo – This is where we stayed and I would highly recommend it. Plataran Komodo Resort Sudamala Resort

My trip to Labuan Bajo Indonesia last month was simply incredible. It was part of the “Trip of Wonders” organized by Ministry of Tourism, Indonesia along with 35 other bloggers and influencers.

With so much to do, see and experience, this place left me amazed and wanting more. I created this list from my own experiences and the places I was lucky enough to see in my short 3 days there.

Pretty sure there are many more islands, beaches and interesting places to visit in Labuan Bajo- which means, I need to come back soon to explore more!

Top Things to do in Labuan Bajo in 3 days

things to do in Labuan Bajo

Experiencing local culture at Melo Village

Kampung Melo was our first stop in Labuan Bajo. After a traditional warm welcome by the Manggarai, we witnessed an array of cultural performances, relished local Manggarai cuisine and experienced their way of life.

Warm welcome by The Manggarai people

The villagers make the complicated process of Ikat weaving look like child’s play. Their traditional bamboo pole game, Caci dance and various other forms of dancing were quite enjoyable and make for the perfect half day tour.

The Caci dance is perhaps the most integral part of their culture. It is a whip fight where male members of the Manggarai hold a whip and shield in either hands to demonstrate the philosophical values and beliefs of their tribe. The entire village is involved and comes to life with the sound of chants, songs and bells.

Visiting Komodo National park

Komodo national park was the most sought after stop in the itinerary for me and luckily, it did not disappoint. The park is home to over 4000 Komodo monitor lizards and hence tops the list of Labuan Bajo things to do , hands down.

Time to meet the dragons

Komodo island is the only place in the world where you can see these dragons and hence makes for one of the most popular day trips from Labuan Bajo…And let me tell you, these lizards are massive. So, you WILL be amazed!

The mighty Komodo dragons

I was especially respectful of these majestic creatures when I heard man-eating encounters of Komodo dragons in the park. There had been 2 incidents where humans were prey to these dominant predators who are fast and agile.

They ambush their prey using their natural camouflage and watch their prey with patience before pouncing with their strong claws in teeth. It is no wonder that sometimes, they can even take down large animals like water buffaloes.

shane travel camel

If you don’t believe me, watch this video of these powerful Komodo dragons hunting their prey – Yes, even buffaloes, goats, deer, cobra and pigs!

Chilling at the Pink beach

Pink beach , locally known as Pantai Merahis gets it’s name from  Foraminifera  which look like tiny pink corals and are spread all around the beach giving it a pink tinch, especially on the shoreline.

This beach forms part of most picture post cards and is one of the best Labuan Bajo attractions for tourists from across the globe.

Pink beach with the tinted pink shoreline

It is the perfect place for a dip, sun bathing, hiking, sunset watching or snorkeling.

A perfect spot to enjoy the view

Wait you can even pose at the pink beach. Look at these wonderful blue layers of water in the ocean, making for an excellent backdrop.

Posing at the pink beach

Cruising through Kalong Island

As our first day at Labuan came to and end, we decided to enjoy the melting sun on our speed boat. I was surprised to see millions of bats (flying foxes) hovering around as the sun set and realized we were just next to the famous “Bat island”.

This was quite an experience with the bats flying around as the sun sets in the horizon and the waves cradle our boat. Another one of the amazing Labuan Bajo day trips which can be easily combined with the Pink beach and other nearby attractions of this exotic island.

Bats hovering over the mangroves

24 hours of sailing experience

With so many Labuan Bajo activities to choose from and enjoy, this was by far the highlight of my Indonesian escapade. If you happen to be in Labuan Bajo, don’t miss this chance to get live on board a lovely sail boat and cruise through the islands.

You will be surrounded by epic beauty and enjoy many adventures/ activities in Labuan Bajo whilst at it.

phinisi felicia

Here are some of the things we did while onboard “ Phinisi Felicia ” –

Snorkeling in Kanawa island

exotic blue star fish

Labuan Bajo with its clear blue green waters and mesmerizing scenic views, offers a vivid underwater life as well. I was amazed at the variety of coral reefs and fish I saw in these stunning waters. For me, this was the best snorkeling experience ever.

Exploring Mesa Village

Next on our list of things to do around Labuan Bajo was a short stop to experience this village on stilts. Mesa village consists of over 1500 people and they don’t have any fresh water at all.

With the wonderful Mesa village kids. Photo credits @flyingeisha

From what I hear, the villagers are scared of mosquitoes (Dengue) and hence they stopped accumulating water in any form through the years, since we all know mosquitoes breed in water.

As per the villagers though, this is just one of the stories that has been passed on through generations and no one really knows how much truth it holds!

Cute houses at the Mesa Village

What surprised me most in this village was the fact that all kids were so friendly. They would not hesitate to hold your hand and walk with you as you explore the village and their parents were very supportive of their kids wandering off with strangers. I don’t see this trust a lot while traveling and its heart warming and surprising, both at the same time.

Hiking up Padar Island

Okay this is definitely a “must-do” if you are in Komodo. During our night at the boat, we made a stop to enjoy sunset from top of Padar island. It was the best decision ever, as this made my entire trip worthwhile – seriously!

hiking up padar island

I kept hearing how steep and difficult the hike was but I was determined to make it to the top. In all honestly, I would rate it as a moderate (but steep) climb which I enjoyed to the fullest.

Hiking up padar island

The best part was when I found my own spot, isolated from the hoards of tourists and photographers, waiting in anticipation for the sun to set.

It took some effort and grass blade cuts, to walk on unpaved paths to reach the tip of a cliff but as you can see from these pictures, it was totally worth it and the 30 mins I spent looking at this exotic scenery, were surely some of the best moments of my life.

Labuan Bajo to Padar island forms one of the most popular day trips but to fully experience the beauty of this island, I would highly recommend getting on the boat and just stop as you please – literally!

Star gazing

Onboard Felicia,  we had a lovely sun deck with lounge bean bags. It was a great place to dance, chat and do some yoga during the day. At night, it was a different ball game all together. As the night approached, I could see the sky light up with millions of stars.. and soon we could see the milky way with our naked eyes.

I was so mesmerized by this scene that I was the last one to go to sleep that night. After all, how many times does it happen that you are on a boat amidst untouched natural beauty and get to gaze at a clear sky full of stars and gawk at the milky way? Well, it was surely a first for me!

Jumping off boats

Yes! That’s a thing and also a ‘must try’ experience. Since we were on our lovely exotic Felicia, many fellow members jumped off the boat into the inviting blue green waters.

Where to stay in Labuan Bajo

Jayakarta Suites Komodo Flores  – The best part of Jayakarta for me was the pool with the strategically placed huge chess board by it. The fact that it is right next to the beach and offers amazing room views, is definitely a big bonus.

Plus you can try traditional food Labuan Bajo during your stay at Jayakarta suites.

Phinisi Felicia boat by Plataran – Our night at the boat was one of the top highlights of the trip and everyone at the trip of wonders will vouch for it. Get on-board Phinisi private boats to sail away to glory at Labuan Bajo. Surely one of the best things to do in Labuan island.

Even though I haven’t personally tried these. You might want to add these to your Labuan Bajo Flores itinerary .

Batu Cermin Cave

Located in the dark stone hills of Labuan Bajo, Batu Cermin Cave also locally known as Mirror Rock is an excellent local attraction that must be on your things to do in Labuan Bajo list. Here you can capture some great Instagram-worthy shots that you would cherish for years to come.

Thanks Jo and not yet been there. But if all goes well, will soon be. This post is so welcome right now, given that I am preparing to get there.

' src=

Ohhh!! New photo destination to put on my list! Looks incredible! Thanks for sharing!

' src=

It looks like a fantastic trip, and you really covered a lot of ground. I haven’t been to Labuan Bajo, but now I definitely want to. The sailing, the pink beach and the cultural activities you got to witness look incredible. And I can’t believe how huge those Komodo dragons were!!!

Yeah I did see a lot in my short 3 days there – it was fantastic though and I look forward to going back and enjoying it at a slower pace 🙂

' src=

That looks amazing! I would leave to see the Komodo dragons, but am a bit scared of them! I don’t think I could have made that leap of faith either!!

Haha, don’t worry there are rangers with you, so its a-okay! The dragons look docile but can be deadly – as long as you are respectful, its fine.

' src=

I’d never heard of Labuan Bajo, but this post really sells it. It looks like an amazing place to visit.

' src=

That’s gorgeous. I’d never heard of this place before this post. Definitely looks like a must visit. ^^

' src=

Absolutely beautiful! These things look definitely kick-ass! When my husband and I go back to Indonesia, this will definitely be consulted again! I want to go to the pink beach and to see komodo dragons! Thanks for sharing!

Oh you must – you guys will LOVE it, I promise! Do lemme know when that happens and I wanna hear about your adventures!

' src=

Lovely place. A great experience all together. I would love to immersed in the local culture, it looks so colourful. The pink beach is another enticing place to just chill. I am also really intrigued by the Komodos, they are indeed a unique species.

' src=

Never heard of Labuan Bajo before reading this but it sounds amazing for sure. This is going right into our bookmarks sections!

' src=

Lovely fun trip it was Jo! Will cherish fond memories for a long time. 🙂

' src=

So many fun and adventurous things to do! Would defiantly check out the snorkeling and hiking when we in Labuan Bajo. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with star gazing! Great list!

' src=

Such a cool post! Those pics look amazing !!

' src=

So many wonderful memories! I’m impressed how you managed to capture that pink hue of the beach in your pic.

' src=

Just beyond Bali, one hour flight to Labuan Bajo. There is any option to reach the park of komodo by boat. Walking thru the downtown to check out their trip on each travel agency. They offer cheap for small local wooden boat till luxury phinisi boat.

' src=

Can I ask how much you paid for your boat tours? All recommendations are welcome. Thanks.

' src=

Many congratulations to you on completing one year as a travel blogger and ofcourse rocking it! I am so going to this place, real soon :D.

But I need help! If I have 3 clear days in Flores, how should I plan those 3 days? – we will arrive at Labuan Bajo by flight around 4 pm on Day 0.

' src=

Flores is amaaaazing. If you can tell me what sort of things you like, I can guide you better – hiking, adventure, relaxation, sailing? I had around the same time and did all of the above. Def visit Komodo park – its the only place in the world to see these dragons.

Wonderful photos Jo and of course the lovely write up to match 🙂

I’m going here soon. Recommendations on tour operators for day trip to Komodo & Padar?

Hi Preeti, glad you liked and I am totally jealous that you are going to see the Komodos! hehe. Well, have fun. I would recommend to hop on the boat we toured with and stayed overnight at from Plataran.com – Totally worth it!!!

Thanks Jo. But this doesn’t work for me unfortunately as we are just two people…

Ah sorry hun, they are the ones we tried personally via the board – who knows you might make friends once you arrive 🙂 Keep me posted how it goes.

Preeti, I just read in a forum that someone used these tour operators based in Jkt – Flores exotic tour and they liked it. Just though I will let ya know 🙂

Wow .. Thanks Jo 🙂 will check them out :*

' src=

this is so cool! We are in Labuan Bajo now and just got ourselves a scooter. We will cruise around for the day and then go for the day trips or maybe even 2 night trip with the cruise to Pink Beach, Manta Point and Komodo. Maybe diving will be another option here, let’s see what we accomplish these days! Thanks a bunch for this list, really helpful!

Chees, Matt

Hey Matt, that sounds like fun. Diving and cruising would def be great options – do share your experience and your top adventure in Labuan Bajo post trip 🙂

Hi Matt, enjoy your trip. I’ll be in Labuan Bajo in 3 weeks time. Do let me know which boat company you take the day trip to Padar, Komodo and rinca. I’ve read Alba cruise is good but costly.

HI Jo, certainly, will do. Just today we cruised around on the scooter, fun here. Some roads are terrible though!!

Hey Preeti, We kept asking around and I think we will go with the boat company next to our accommodation, Hotel Gardena. It’s 12 people max and covers all the usual things. I can let you know afterwards if it was worth it 🙂

Sure Mat. Enjoy!

' src=

hello Preeti How was your day trip? How much was it? and was it a max of 12 people I am in the process of booking flights and accommodation to Lubuan Bajo Its the day trips I am struggling with Hope you can help Cheers jenni ( 65years young)

We stayed at ciao hostel.I booked my day trip (Padar, Komodo & pink beach) through the hostel – very cheap but boat & food was not that great, very basic. We were 2 of us and joined a group of 12 others on our boat.

I dived with Uber dive. They are amazing.

My suggestion, don’t pre book tours, you’ll find plenty in town. Pre booking is expensive. Just go with extra day & you should be fine.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Preeti I will book when we arrive in Lubuan Bajo We are looking forward to it I think we will try a fast boat Regards Jenni

' src=

HI Jo, wonderful photos. I will go to Labuan Bajo next week. Do you have contact person of the vessel you hired? Or is it better to book after you arrived in Labuan Bajo? Cheers, Riza

Hi Riza, Glad you liked the pictures and so happy you are headed to one of my fave places in Indonesia 🙂 You can contact the one I booked here with plataran or simply go there and explore/ find your tour.
