(Not counting ferries, I've been on boats maybe five times in 50+ years, so grain of salt applies here.) The four or five people I met were friendly and my BIL speaks highly of the club. The building and hall was repaired/rebuilt nicely after being muchly destroyed by Sandy. It has floating docks, not mooring balls (not sure if my terminology is correct). 0 0 Reply

The north channel yacht club.

In the past five years, we have embarked on several significant improvements to the clubhouse and island including the provision of city water from the mainland, the rebuilding and refurbishing of our commercial kitchen and the installation of a seawall within our entire East Harbor. The Clubhouse consists of a main dining room/dance area, full bar with tables for seating and TV viewing areas, bathrooms and showers, kids’ room with television, video games and toys, commercial kitchen, second floor sleeping rooms for members, a historic lighted cupola with observation deck on the fourth level which also serves as a navigational aid, a large outside covered patio, a designated swimming area with deck, retail store with clothing and marine supplies, and beautiful well-maintained grounds containing outdoor leisure activities, children’s playground and gas barbeque grills. The clubhouse bar is known far and wide for its shuffleboard and Ships Bell hanging from the bar ceiling with ringing instructions stating “He Who Rings the Bell in Jest, Buys a Drink for All the Rest.” Needless to say, the bell is rung frequently!
NCYC is not just any Club â we are tradition, built on long-term member’s families; we are teamwork; we are fun loving, we are comrades in preservation and we are family.
