When planning a charter, it's important to know what type of boat you want. There are many types of boats available, so it's important to choose the right one for your needs. We offer a variety of vessels, ranging from small sailboats to large cruise ships. Our staff members will help you find the perfect yacht for your event. When working with our staff member via telephone or email, they will line you up with the best possible luxury vessel for the best possible value.  Once you are in agreement, our team will send you a paypal request for a deposit.  The request will outline all of the different details of your trip or event.  Once the deposit is paid, the vessel is held for your important event duration.  Depending on your specific requirements, the remainder is usually due at the time of your charter unless there are special requirements which may require the remainder of the due amount several days before the charter.

The wet winter season runs from October through March, but does present some opportunities for anglers who participate in the winter salmon season (blackmouth) from January to the end of March.

‘Locking Through’ the Ballard Locks

Special Note: This adventure is for experienced boaters only—talk to your boat owner first or book with a professional captain! The Ballard (Hiram M. Chittenden) Locks are a popular Seattle attraction and a historic site operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that connect Salmon Bay to Shilshole Bay. As one of the busiest locking systems in the U.S., both the large and small lock chambers are open 24/7, and during the peak summer season can expect to be packed full of boaters—from sailors to powerboaters, large tug boats, and even kayaks.

Pro Tip : Keep an eye on the water levels, as the water can drop dramatically—almost three stories—at low tide. Likewise, the small lock chamber (100ft long and 26ft wide) is the easiest area to navigate, as you can tie up to the side walls to make your pass through.

Seattle is known worldwide for its  salmon fisheries , particularly in Puget Sound. Lake Union is located just north of downtown Seattle, which makes it one of the best places to enjoy what this city is most known for: Its local waters and natural spaces, and the culture. The center of the lake happens to be a busy seaplane takeoff and landing zone throughout the summer months, so be conscious of the zoned buoys and flashing lights. Boaters can also enjoy great views of the Space Needle, while history buffs can dock up to visit the Museum of History and Industry or the Center for Wooden Boats—both located in the southern end of the lake.

Moorage : The shores of Lake Union are lined with countless marinas and landings available long-term or short-term dockage. Check the northeastern and northwestern areas for the most options.

Wake zone : Yes - boaters should also familiarize themselves with Lake Union’s “#MindTheZone” campaign before navigating the area without a captain, and keep an eye out for flashing white buoys that designate the seaplane landing zones between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Pro Tips : On the north end of the lake, located minutes away from any moorage, explore an old Gas Works Park, where you can have a picnic in the grass, or just enjoy the view of seaplanes taking off and landing in Lake Union.

Hours : Be ready for crowded waterways on big holiday or event weekends, including “Opening Day” taking place in early May at the Montlake Cut, the Fourth of July, and the Seafair Weekend Festival.

Lake Washington

Located between Seattle and Bellevue, Lake Washington is the second largest natural lake in the state which connects to Puget Sound through Lake Union. Wake zone : Yes - speed regulations of 7-knots (8-MPH) are in place within 100-yards of shore, docks, bridges or other fixed objects. In Andrews Bay, the speed limit is 3-knots. During the Seafair races, Lake Washington from the I-90 floating bridge to Seward park is a no-wake zone.

Meet the Crew

Captain John Bernard has a Master Captain License with the USCG and over 30 years experience as a sailor. He holds numerous patents for his work as an electrical engineer and inventor in Seattle and San Francisco. He has captained dozens of vessels up and down the west coast of the US as well as operated charter catamarans in Hawaii.

Matt is a technology leader by day, mariner by night. Matt has been sailing various small craft for over 20 years beginning in his teenage years on the east coast of the United States. By day he works in the software field developing autonomous vehicles.

Where to begin? Can’t speak enough kind words about Serafina. We took a sail out for our anniversary. We chose the overnight charter, and had the most magical 24hrs, with the kindest captains. The boat is by far one of the most well designed, beautiful boats we have EVER stepped foot on. We simply can’t say enough about the boat itself and the wonderful details that make it feel a step above the rest. It’s cozy, mod, but charming as well. The captains made our trip as well, they were knowledgeable, professional, but also made us feel right at home. I could go on, but it is safe to say we will absolutely be booking more charters with Serafina. She’s a one-of-a-kind PNW experience! If you’re thinking about booking, go for it! The most amazing 3 hours I've spent on the Puget Sound. Initially I was going to propose on Serafina but due to bad weather, we ended up rescheduling for a post-proposal sailing experience and photo session. Matt was a wonderful host and captain. He was extremely helpful with planning and sharing information about the weather and how the boat works and what to look forward to throughout the sailing experience. The Pacific Northwest is a region in western North America bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west and, loosely, by the Rocky Mountains on the east. Though no universally agreed upon boundary exists, a common conception includes the U.S. states of Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian province of British Columbia. Broader conceptions reach north into Alaska and Yukon, south into the coastal and mountainous regions of Northern California, and east into Idaho and western Montana, and western Wyoming to the Continental Divide. Narrower conceptions may be limited to the Northwestern U.S. or to the coastal areas west of the Cascade and Coast mountains.  The Northwest Coast is the coastal regions of the Pacific Northwest and the Northwest Plateau (also commonly known as "The Interior" in British Columbia and the Inland Empire in the United States) is the inland regions. A yacht charter vacation in this region usually includes the areas surrounding the Puget Sound, the second largest estuary in the USA with over 2300 miles of coastline and the San Juan Islands. 

Starting at South Lake Union in the heart of Seattle, charters usually cruise Lake Union and through the Montlake Cut, while bridges open for our tall masts. Then sail wherever the winds take you on Lake Washington until returning to Seattle's skyline framed by snow covered mountains.

On your way, check out the houseboats made famous by Sleepless in Seattle, or bald eagles nesting on the tree-lined shore. An ideal way to enjoy Seattle's evergreen wonderland away from the bustle of city streets.

Montlake Cut:  The Montlake Cut is the easternmost section of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, which passes through the city of Seattle, linking Lake Washington to Puget Sound. It is approximately 2,500 feet (760 m) long and 350 feet (110 m) wide. The center channel is 100 feet (30 m) wide and 30 feet (9.1 m) deep. The path along the cut was designated a National Recreation Trail as Montlake Cut National Waterside in 1971.[1]

The Cut provides a connection between Union Bay, part of Lake Washington, to the east and Portage Bay, an arm of Lake Union, to the west. It is spanned by the Montlake Bridge, a bascule drawbridge carrying Montlake Boulevard (State Route 513). Most of the land on the north shore of the Cut is occupied by the University of Washington, its medical school to the west and its stadium parking lot to the east; residences and a recreational trail occupy the south bank, which is part of the Montlake neighborhood. It is the site of the annual Windermere Cup crew regatta and the Seattle Yacht Club's Opening Day Boat Parade, both of which take place on the first Saturday in May. Puget Sound Boat Rental:  The Puget Sound region is home to the majority of Washington State citizens who live in the bustling cities and suburbs that extend north to south from Stanwood to Olympia. Most Puget Sound communities lie on either side of the north-south Interstate 5 corridor that serves as the major traffic thoroughfare of the state.

Puget Sound itself is a body of water lying east of Admiralty Inlet, through which ocean waters reach inland some 50 miles from the Pacific Coast to provide all-weather ports for ocean-going ships at Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia. The waterway is a complex and intricate system of channels, inlets, estuaries, embayments and islands.

Ballard Locks:   Tourists and locals enjoy watching the parade of yachts, sailboats, motorboats, barges and tugs passing through as the locks' water levels are adjusted to allow for safe passage between the salt water and the fresh water of the ship canal. Tillicum Village:  Tillicum Village is a Puget Sound area visitor attraction located on Blake Island just off the shore of Seattle, WA. It is believed that this attraction dates to the time period immediately preceding the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. Madison Park:  Madison Park is a neighborhood in east central Seattle, Washington, USA, named after the city park at the foot of E. Madison Street on the Lake Washington shore Estates on Mercer Island:  Mercer Island Estates is the largest South End neighborhood located just south of the QFC shopping center and Mercer Island Country Club. This planned community was built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and includes homes in a variety of styles, including mid-century modern, traditional, and Northwest contemporary. With wide streets and plenty of cul-de-sacs, this neighborhood is popular with families, who also enjoy Wildwood Park and its proximity to the nearby South End shopping center.

Fremont Cut:  The Fremont Cut is a body of water that forms part of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, which passes through the U.S. city of Seattle and links Lake Washington to Puget Sound. The Fremont Cut connects Lake Union to the east with Salmon Bay to the west. It is 5,800 feet (1,800 m) long and 270 feet (82 m) wide. The center channel is 100 feet (30 m) wide and 30 feet (9.1 m) deep.

The Fremont Cut is spanned by the Fremont Bridge, a bascule drawbridge that connects the neighborhoods of Fremont and Queen Anne via Fremont Avenue North. A campus of Adobe Systems and the headquarters for Tableau Software are located at the north-eastern quadrant of this intersection of bridge and canal, and an office of Google is located on the north-western quadrant. Meydenbauer Bay in Bellevue:  The Bellevue Marina lies between the foot of 99th Avenue Northeast and 100th Avenue Southeast on the south side of downtown Bellevue. Depending upon the pier, the marina may be accessed from either street. From Interstate 405, take the NE 8th Street exit west. Turn left on Bellevue Way Southeast. Turn right on Main Street and proceed until reaching either the 100th Avenue Southeast or 99th Avenue Northeast intersections (Please note that Main Street turns into Lake Washington Boulevard Northeast at the 100th Avenue Southeast intersection.) Estate with Full T-Rex skeleton inside: Nathan Myhrvold became fascinated with dinosaurs and visited the filming of the “Jurassic Park” sequel in 1996 and met the film’s consultant and world-leading paleontologist, Jack Horner. Horner convinced Nathan to use some of his Microsoft multimillions to fund a dinosaur bone digging foundation. His foundation has recovered more tyrannosaurus rex skeletons than the total previously found by everyone else. He has given most of them to museums including the Smithsonian. In-side the big rounded windows of his living room he has one of the t-rex skeletons he helped dig up.

Bill Gates House: Originally purchasing the lakefront property for $2 million in 1988, Gates has done everything in his power to ensure his dream home doesn't have a negative impact on the environment. Built into a hill as part of its earth-sheltered design, Gates was concerned about potential runoff from the walls of the massive estate. To combat the problem, he collaborated with the two architectural firms who designed the home to create an artificial stream on the property to catch the runoff. And, in true Gates fashion, he took the design up a notch and has the stream stocked with salmon and trout giving even the wildlife a fisheye view of the most expensive home in America.

Fisherman's Terminal –  Fishermen's Terminal is a dock for Seattle, Washington's commercial fishing fleet, on Salmon Bay in the Interbay neighborhood, east of the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks and immediately west of the Ballard Bridge.

Hunts Point & City of Kirkland:   Incorporated in 1955, the Town of Hunts Point is located on the eastern shore of Lake Washington just north of the SR520 bridge. Once a camping ground for the Sammamish Indian tribe, this residential community of single-family residences is home to just under 500 residents. Hunts Point is one of the smallest municipalities in Western Washington, yet its bucolic feel and proximity to Seattle and the Eastside help make it a highly desirable place to live. Seattle Skyline: From 1903 to 1904, Seattle's tallest building and first steel-framed skyscraper is constructed. The Alaska Building, located at the southeast corner of 2nd Avenue and Cherry Street, rises 14 stories
