Welcome to the 5.5 Metre Class
Progressive design - Superb racing
This construction class has been showing over time constant development, thanks to carefully advanced class rules, always offering state-of-the-art boats. At the same time the class formula has allowed for a wide range of boat ages, to compete effectively in our International regatta events, in prominent locations.
The boats are a pure pleasure to sail. Anyone having experienced the unique upwind abilities and the challenge to handle the huge spinnakers downwind, will have understood, why so many regatta sailors have been attracted to these boats.
If you wish to sail on board one of these fantastic racing machines and be involved in pure yacht racing, do not hesitate to contact us or one of the National Class Associations.
The 5.5mIC World Fleet Online Database can give you an insight into class development, leading to almost 800 boats so far having been built worldwide.
